This is a great Indian restaurant. Very reasonably priced 4 of us paid €106, popadums, mains, beer, 2 wines, 4 waters. Recommend chicken bhuna, korma, butter chicken,, they’re happy to spice up as well. Lovely naan breads, rice automatically comes with curries. Good service too. 👍👍

Small unassuming spot in the center of town. Very friendly staff and delicious food. Delicate (unexpected) flavors of the usual dishes. We ordered the Punjabi Dal, the Vegetarian special (with cauliflower etc.) and garlic naan. The portions are large and the prices reasonable.

Everything was great and tasty! Even when we came 30 minutes before closing time, extremely friendly and nice staff. I will be coming back for that butter chicken and palak paneer !

I ordered through Lieferando at 7:50 p.m., still nothing came until 8:50 p.m., after calling the restaurant I was told that the driver would be there shortly, after another 30 minutes there was still no driver, after calling again at 9:37 p.m. I was told that all orders are out... Paid and no food received!

The place is definitely not a snack bar, but somehow it doesn't really have the character of a restaurant either. So if you value a really tasty meal more than the ambience, you're in great hands here. Our food was really tasty and enough to take leftovers home with us. The prices are not cheap but not overpriced either. Judging by the quality and quantity, I say it's quite reasonable. I would like to go there again.

Very nice staff and every request was responded to immediately. The food was delicious, authentic Indian food that we have never tasted before. The upscale ambience and cozy ambience was great. We recommend No. 34, the Butter Chicken, because you can choose the level of spiciness from mild to very hot. We will definitely come back. The best Indian restaurant in Dortmund!

The chairs are very, very wobbly and the food is relatively tasteless. Otherwise it is a clean shop especially the toilets.

Food is just okay. I had ordered Kebap and it wasn't even close in terms of taste of the real kebab. Then for the main dish chicken bhuna and chicken tikka both were okay and lack the authentic taste. Mango lassi was also okay. I went there for an Indian taste and couldn't had it, as I said overall it was an okay experience. Service and place has great vibes, price is reasonable as well along with the food quantity you wont leave hungry. 😃

I ordered the dish extra spicy, but it was mild. Otherwise the food was ok. The food came relatively quickly. You can do it, but there are better options in Dortmund such as: B. Sweet Chili if you want authentic Indian food. How about offering vegetarian meat dishes with tofu as an alternative?

The staff doesn't speak any German. I asked her to recommend me something, but she didn't understand what I said. lots of rice “small addition” to the rice. The portions other than the rice were very small but tasty. Too modest food for this money

Never had any problems, I've been ordering for a long time, everything has always been delicious. Ordered today through Wolt, first of all the food came almost cold - the rice smelled so badly of MOLD and the naan was inedible. The meal cost €25 and I waited more than 70 minutes. You can understand the waiting time, but MOLD in the food is absolutely unacceptable. DISAPPOINTED.

Excellent! I was there today on a Saturday evening and had been there before but today the restaurant was very full. We were lucky that we got a place today. Even though the staff had a lot to do, they were still friendly and they tried their best to do what they did. The food was great, I ordered the Chicken Biryani with Cheese Nan and it was great! We will come back. Only recommended

A nice and cozy little restaurant right in downtown Dortmund. Very tasty main courses, good vegetarian and vegan selection. We particularly liked the fresh samosa with 3 different dips. Clear recommendation also for tourists and groups of up to 8 people. We spontaneously got a large table here on Saturday evening, even though the restaurant was already busy.

Interessantes Geschäftsgebaren: 6 Jahre, nachdem ich dort gegessen habe und das Essen enorm öde fand, droht das Restaurant mir über Google per Anwalt, ich möge beweisen, dass ich tatsächlich dort gegessen hätte. Als ob ich tatsächlich noch Belege aufbewahre von einem Restaurant, das bei mir keinen guten Eindruck hinterlassen hat. Das beste indische Restaurant indem ich persönlich gegessen habe, Kellner nett, vielleicht hat man auch die Möglichkeit den Chef zu sehen 10/10 nur sehr oft reserviert, liegt aber auch daran das es so ein gutes Restaurant ist.

War nach 2 Monaten wieder dort und habe es wirklich vermisst alles war sehr frisch und lecker und mango Lassi ist sehr süß fruchtig würde es empfehlen mal dort zu essen.

Update vom 18.0124: Ich würde ja noch mal dorthin gehen um vielleicht eine andere Erfahrung als vor 5 Jahren zu machen. Der Gastronom könnte ja auch direkt auf meine durchaus kritische Rezension antworten. Stattdessen schreibt mich Google Removals, dass der Gastronom die Echtheit meiner Rezension anzweifelt. So kann man's natürlich auch machen.... ------------ Im November flanierte ich durch die Kälte, als mir dieses indische Restaurant in einer kleinen Seitenstraße vom Westenhellweg auffiel. Es war drinnen mollig warm, und der Besitzer und seine Frau (vermute ich jetzt mal) waren sehr sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen allerdings hat mir überhaupt nicht geschmeckt. Wenn ich das erste Mal zu einem Inder gehe, bestelle ich immer Dhal. Ich liebe Dhal in sämtlichen Varianten und könnte es fast täglich essen. Und ich war schon in wirklich vielen indischen Restaurants. Aber das Dhal hier im Taj Mahal war das uninspirierteste und fadeste Dhal, das mir bislang unterkam. Der Reis schmeckte ungesalzen. Vorab gab es Papadam mit drei Dips, und der rote Dip schmeckte wie aufgehübschter Ketchup. Ich habe mich hinterher geärgert, dass ich nicht einfach zu Hause ein Schnittchen gegessen habe. Dann wäre der Abend leckerer und vor allem billiger gewesen.

Zu dem Zeitpunkt, hab ich mit der Bedienung halt schlechte Erfahrungen gemacht. Ob dies noch zutrifft, kann ich nicht sagen, war seit dem nicht mehr dort.

Seltsam! Warum bekomme ich nach 2 Jahren über Google eine Anwaltsdrohung wegen meines kritischen Restaurantkommentars?! Solche Maßnahmen fördern leider nicht die positive Wahrnehmung und beeinflussen meine Entscheidung, das Lokal erneut zu besuchen.

Nun ja ich kann gerne mal über Kleinigkeiten hinweg gucken, aber wenn ich schon fast zu Tresen hingehen muss ( Laden ist sehr klein) um ein weiteres Getränk zu bekommen dann ist etwas nicht richtig. Auch das Essen war nur so geht ja ,bestellt mittelscharf aber es war garnicht scharf und außerdem schon beim servieren nur lauwarm,also in dem hart umkämpften Markt Gastro geht so was für mich nicht, gutes Geld gute Leistung!

Sehr sauberes Restaurant und sehr leckeres Essen. Man merkt wie erfahren der Inhaber ist und wie gut er einem beraten kann wenn man nicht weiß was man essen soll. Für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Ich kann jedem das Chicken Tikka Masala oder das Chicken Korma empfehlen🤤

Auf Wunsch vegan machbar, komisch aber das Soße bei mir (vegan) und meinem Partner (mit Fleisch) genau die gleiche war. Leider wenig vegane Auswahl und das essen hat sehr langweilig geschmeckt, trotz mehr genannter Zutaten. Das vegane Brot wurde ohne Beschriftung in der Speisekarte mit Butter beschmiert. Schade. Personal aber sehr nett. Für den Preis sind die Portionen zu klein. Eigentlich eine gute Menge, aber hatten schon größere Töpfe für einen kleineren Preis

The environment was pretty good. The food was really good as well. The butter chicken is the best in my opinion. The Beef jhalfries is good but it was a but sweet on my taste which I don’t prefer on a beef curry. Overall I like this restaurant and I will be back again.

Butter Chicken: Top. Reis: ok aber ausbaufähig. Naan: völlig überteuert, aber lecker. Schärfegrad: frei wählbar. Fazit: Gerne wieder, wenn Bega zu hat.

Gutes Butter Chicken und schönes Ambiente

Das Restaurant liegt etwas versteckt neben den Haupteingang der Thier Galerie und das Lokal ist relativ schwach belichtet. Das Essen war auf einem guten Niveau und kommt sehr nahe an typischer Indischen Hausmannskost ähnlich wie eine Trattoria. Besonders gefallen hat mir das Naan Brot mit Cheese und Butter Chicken. Qualität kostet deshalb zahlt man auch pro Personen circa 20€

Man bestellt online direkt über die Homepage. Man bekommt eine Bestellbestätigung und dann haben die zu wegen Renovierung. Und man läuft dort extra zur Abholung hin. Eine Frechheit.

I dont know if it is with all indian restaurant but I have noticed that these indian restaurant's staff never behave respectfully with Indians(especially with Students). Today the guy who was taking are order litrally told us that we won't be able to afford a dish from their Menu. We all felt judged! Talking about food: 1. We were around 12 people in total I understand that it takes time to make food for these many people but still waited for around an 1 hour. 2. Food was pretty average. The guy who was taking order was saying that food will be accourding to our choice, ofcourse as an Indian we told them to make spicy, but it was not according to us. 3. Limited veg options!
