The service is exceptionally attentive and courteous. Come in, feel at home, and enjoy. A great bar with draft Kronen beer in a cozy atmosphere. Spontaneous online reservations are possible. You can spend a delightful evening here. We wholeheartedly recommend it and will gladly return. Special recommendation: The mango ice cream dessert. Yummy!!!

Yesterday, my father and I had dinner at Bega Restaurant – and we were absolutely thrilled! The food was simply fantastic – a perfect 10 out of 10! Everything was incredibly flavorful, the meat was incredibly tender, and the taste was practically perfect. You can immediately tell that the food is cooked with passion and attention to detail. The atmosphere is also very pleasant and cozy – you feel right at home. But I especially want to highlight the service: very friendly, attentive, and warm. You're truly valued as a guest here. Highly recommended – we'll definitely be back! 🙌🍛🇮🇳

I have been here over 20 times, most of the times accompanied by friends and colleagues and all of them agreed that the food here is excellent and there are plenty of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The prices and portion sizes are decent and I wholeheartedly appreciate the friendliness and kindness of the staff. Even when one dines alone they still get the complimentary Vorspeise-Teller and can enjoy the uniquely decorated surrounding. I am also excited and hopeful that the newly introduced lunch deal becomes a permanent option. It is definitely one of my favorite restaurants and a gem in the city centre.

We were there for the second time today, and I have to say it was absolutely delicious again! We had the Thali menu, which was a pure explosion of flavors. I highly recommend it. The service was, as always, nice and friendly; we've finally found an Indian restaurant where everything is just right.

I've only ever ordered takeaway food so far. The food always arrived quickly and hot. The food is delicious; the mild curries aren't bland, and the hot curries aren't just scorching, but aromatic. They always come with a portion of poppadoms. The only thing is that the prices are relatively high, but not higher than at other Indian restaurants, so no star deduction. A tip: Don't order through Lieferando, but order directly through the restaurant's website and collect loyalty points, which you can use to save on your next order.

A small, family-run restaurant with delicious food. We had a mixed platter, the Bega Thali, where you could try everything, which was absolutely delicious. There's one with and one without meat. My husband had the Chicken Masala, which was also delicious. You can add more seasoning, as it wasn't spicy enough for my taste. The service was very attentive, and it was extremely busy, so it actually deserves full stars ⭐️

Super delicious... The Toori chicken was really good. The food wasn't salty either (or at least they didn't make it salty at my request! Either way, it was great). I found the lassi a bit sweet, but that's a matter of taste. I'll be happy to eat here again in the future.

Although it took us forever to choose our food, the waitress was super patient and friendly, even bringing us the dinner menu for lunch and not charging extra for our special requests. The food was delicious, and the menu was varied without being overwhelming. I've had tastier naan elsewhere, but the Murgh Korma had a great flavor and the meat was beautifully tender. They were happy to pack up the leftovers for me. I'd love to come back 😊

We were booked in for dinner with a larger group. This presented a challenge, but the staff were friendly and handled fairly quickly. Overall, the food was very tasty and appetizingly presented. It's important to note that there are also a wide variety of vegetarian and some vegan dishes to choose from. I was able to easily order several dairy-free starters and thoroughly enjoyed my time there with colleagues. I would be happy to return.

The dishes are always fresh, prepared with love, and incredibly flavorful. You can simply taste that the food here is authentic Indian. The atmosphere is also particularly pleasant: soft, atmospheric Indian music plays in the background – just the right volume to create a relaxed atmosphere without being intrusive. The service is friendly, attentive, and warm; you immediately feel welcome. Whether you're vegetarian, with meat, or vegan – the selection is diverse and there's something for everyone. My personal favorites: Chicken tikka masala, Chicken Murgh Masala bega, Butter Chicken, Veggie Pakoras, Chicken Saagwala, Chicken Karahi, Chicken Jakhni, and of course, Tandoori Naan. I can truly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates good Indian food or would like to try it for the first time. For me, it's clearly one of the best Indian restaurants in the area!

We've been going to this Indian restaurant for years and are always impressed. We've tried almost the entire menu – everything is absolutely delicious! I especially recommend the thalis, the lamb dishes, and the paneer dishes. The mango lassi is also fantastic. The service is always friendly and attentive, the place is clean and cozy. And the owner is just incredibly warm – you immediately feel welcome. Absolutely our favorite restaurant!

We really enjoyed the Bega Restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious, and the service was very friendly and attentive. It's especially nice that they offer a wide selection of vegetarian dishes, including children's meals. For anyone trying Indian food for the first time, we recommend the Bega Thali and the Veggie Thali – they have a bit of everything you'd expect from Indian cuisine, along with rice and bread. Great restaurant with friendly hosts. A safe solution for gluten-free dining. They even have kids' menus.

The taste was actually quite good, but the service wasn't great. The waitresses were a bit fussy. We wanted to order individual appetizers, but they couldn't charge for them. On top of that, we weren't allowed to order 0.2l drinks because supposedly only 0.4l was available. When it turned out that 0.2l was available, we were simply told that they would simply charge us twice for the 0.2l instead of offering us the option to pay for just the 0.2l. We couldn't finish the 0.4l drinks because we simply don't drink that much while eating and would have preferred the 0.2l drinks...

Absolute delicious food here. We ordered mutton and Chicken briyani the food was really good. The menu card is really classic wood style finish was really nice. Medium spicy and the way food was served was really clean and nice. The worker could speak English made our food day 10 times better. The price is good, and I will definitely recommend this restaurant to make a try. The briyani was different than other place this time here when it have some India and Pakistani tastes. They also have nice clean toilets u can use. Lots of sitting place and the restaurant gives some acoustic vibe feeling all the decorations. Have a look on the pictures.

Amazing little and cozy place with great service and great food.

There were two of us and we had not made a reservation. There was enough space, probably because it was still early. Larger groups can also be accommodated by reservation because there are tables, chairs and comfortable seats/benches against the wall. Most standard tables are for 2-4 people. The music was atmospheric and the volume was good. It took a while before we received the menu and I asked for the bill myself. The service itself was with a smile including an explanation of the flavors. They were perfectly balanced. The meat was wonderfully tender. We had a delicious meal for reasonable prices. I left with a smile.

This one serves as my first dining experience in Dortmund, and if you're looking for something different, Bega's a good place to start. Being a person of South Asian heritage myself, the place felt quite nostalgic and was a throwback to the culinary journey at home. The staff was really courteous and I was hosted to the table. The restaurant itself has a warm vibe and thus you feel somehow protected from the outdoor chilly weather just by immersing yourself into it. As for the food, I tried some Madrasi Shorba (South Indian lentil soup) and the classic Chicken Tikka Masala, so pretty much trying out both regions of the subcontinent. You're also served some poppadom with sauces in-house, which were crispy and further added the nostalgia factor. The soup was good, but the Tikka Masala was what it really had me, which was served with basmati rice! The only downside may be that it may be a little costly, but as always, it isn't a fast food restaurant and since I've cooked some of the dishes in the menu myself, it takes more time and resources, so it's fair. And yes, if you may feel concerned, the food is Halal.

The butter chicken was a 10/10, very tender and perfectly seasoned. The service was super friendly and attentive, very warm, 11/10. We would come back again and again; we were more than satisfied! :)

Nice restaurant, a little out of the way. In terms of taste, it has everything that Indian cuisine offers. The menu is manageable, but that represents freshness. The service could be a little more attentive. We waited a long time for our drinks and were rarely asked in between. Individual needs regarding the level of spiciness were taken into account.

We ordered takeaway food from Bega Restaurant. It was very well packaged and was still almost piping hot when we unwrapped the food 15 minutes later. The food (chicken korma and lamb in spinach - palak gosht) was just incredibly delicious. The portions are large and inexpensive. I can only recommend Bega Restaurant. Keep it up.

Wir waren zum ersten - aber nicht zum letzten - Mal im Bega und haben sehr gut gegessen. Das Restaurant ist gemütlich eingerichtet, alle Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und im Service unaufdringlich zugewandt, was uns sehr gut gefallen hat. Das Essen war frisch zubereitet und äußerst schmackhaft, für mehr als europäische Schärfe gab es Chili-Streuer. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war umwerfend. :-)

You felt super comfortable from the first moment. Never had such nice service. The atmosphere is very cozy. The food is also great and beautifully prepared.

The taste is great, but unfortunately very little meat per portion, maybe 70g at most, so 4-5 small pieces of chicken. Then just make it more expensive instead of less please. It was completely different a year ago :( And before any law firm gets involved, the Lieferando order number is available.

I was really looking forward to this evening. We really wanted to go out for Indian food and wanted to try Bega. We have been to other Indian restaurants in Dortmund before and have always been very satisfied. Of course, there are always differences in the cuisine, because not all Indian food is the same. But what we were served today was by no means the Indian cuisine we had imagined. I had the Shahi Korma. It was a soup made of flavorless sauce and frozen vegetables. There was a single slice of frozen carrot (recognizable by the wavy cut), a few peas and a few pieces of zucchini. There was also rice, some of which was colored with food coloring in blue, yellow, green and red. And that was called a vegetarian dish with vegetables and rice. I've eaten a lot of vegetable dishes, but this dish just passed all of them to be able to call it that. I was disappointed. In addition, there was no more chai at 7:30 p.m. He was sold out. How can black tea be sold out? Dear Bega, please serve your customers vegetables with the rice and sauce. Otherwise, you should rename your dish. Unfortunately I didn't take a photo, I was too shocked and I'm actually not used to taking photos as evidence for reviews.

We were in Bega for the first time today. And that was mega. Ordered food via the Schlemmerblock. Super nice service and absolutely delicious food. From papadum and naan bread to our main courses. Simply absolutely delicious and a delicious Brinkhoffs. What more could you want? We'd love to come back.
