Was here spontaneously today with my mother, at first glance the prices seem pretty steep, but in retrospect I have to say that the portions, especially of the two curries, were very, very, very fair. I didn't even finish my portion so I took something with me. The taste is really great, I can also highly recommend the garlic rootie, these rolls (unfortunately I forgot the name), I myself had the Goa curry with chicken, which I will definitely order again. Well, the service wasn't really there 😅 but that's not a bad thing, you just got a vibrating disk that made a noise when the food was ready, but the drinks were brought. To order you would have to go forward, but be that as it may, there are really worse things, it's only a few steps. The gentleman at the counter was very friendly, every process, from ordering, to receiving the food, to packing and paying, went quickly, everything was pretty uncomplicated. I rarely come to this corner of Dortmund, but I will definitely remember this shop. Good value for money, everything was quick and uncomplicated, the food was really great and a nice atmosphere.

Hello, I was here at curry masala in Dortmund, ordered jaffna for dinner for the first time, ate it here too... and later had to vomit at home and got stomach flu... I was so sick, unfortunately I can't do that here don't sign... Thank God I had the receipt, I came back here the next day and wanted my money back, then suddenly an aggressive Afghan man came from the kitchen and was very aggressive, shouted at me, especially at people, and embarrassed me... I actually just wanted my money back, that's all, he said I wouldn't get any money back, threatened to ban me from the house, I said I wanted to talk to the boss, he said he was a team leader, I said again I wanted to talk to the boss, he called the boss and said bad things about me and gave him false information from me, Boss said I should go outside or he should call the police... I then shout that's fine for me, then he was violent and then pushed me out, I had no choice but to go to the police and file a report against the owner and team leader... Wouldn't recommend this locally.

Self-service is the order of the day. The shop has the character of a snack bar, which is probably the intention. Anyone expecting a restaurant will be disappointed. The portions are also suitable for heavy eaters, but the taste is average. The preparation time was reasonable. The chicken on my plate was more like chicken crumbs and the rice was a lump. The table hygiene left a lot to be desired, unless you are interested in what the previous person at the table ate. The boxes in which the leftovers were packed were good. The price/performance ratio is maximally satisfactory.

Es hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt und es war sehr reichhaltig. Leider fanden wir die Atmosphäre durch die großen Schaufenster nicht sehr gemütlich und es herrscht dort Selbstbedienung . Kaum war ein Tisch leer wurde er auch sofort gereinigt. Alles im allen war es aber sehr gut.

We had ours yesterday with 7 people Spent lunch break here. We called an hour before and ordered completely different dishes. When we arrived on site, everything was ready at the same time and a table was reserved for us. Everything was very tasty, healthy and the eyes also enjoyed eating! I would also give 6 stars😉

Food was delicious, when an Indian says the food is a bit spicy it is spicy, that's what I noticed 🥵 but as you can see I survived it. The prices are fair.

The shop is simply great, very healthy and delicious food, as advertised. You get something for your money and not mouse portions like with most others The size of the portion is perfect, as it should be for such a price. I can only recommend it. The food tasted wonderful. The small starter and the main course were really, really tasty! What we really liked is that you can choose to have each dish with meat or vegetarian. The owner can't handle the busy road. The ambience is nice. There are some Indian accents. The cleanliness is good, but you can't say much about the service itself as it is self-service. We'd love to come back!

It was our first time eating there and we were warmly welcomed. We didn't have to wait long and were able to pick up our food at the front. Very large portions to fill you up and there is something for everyone, both mild spiciness and very strong spiciness. A visit is highly recommended!! 😊

Very tasty food. The portions are nice and big, but you feel balanced after eating. The spicy dishes have a pleasant spiciness. The spices are used in a balanced manner and give the dishes great flavors. Vegetables are crunchy. The breadings are delicious. All around great restaurant. Please continue!!! Even our children (who are rather complicated when it comes to eating) left the restaurant full.

Super delicious food. I really enjoy ordering there. For around €12 you get a fairly large portion, leaving around 1/3 for the next day. Optimal. I recommend the lemon pickles with the rice!

My chickpea curry was delicious. A little spicy, but not too much. The portion size was also perfect. We recommend the mango lassi, totally creamy. There are many vegan and vegetarian options.

Had a very tasty lunch there today. If we lived nearby we would definitely come more often. Unfortunately, 150 km is too far to drive every day for this super cheap, very tasty lunch. 😀😃

Food was not that good, as we expected. We have been to other indian/south indian/sri-lankan restaurants in Dortmund, however Curry Masala Restaurant was not at all to our expectations. Food wise, briyani is not a briyani but a pulao.. Given the prices we paid, we were not satisfied with the quantity and quality of food. So, i apologize, but i will not recommend the restaurant.

Frankly speaking, the biriyani and kottu rotti was not good at all… The biriyani is not consist with a curry or chili at least… Moreover, the service was very low level. To summarize, I do not recommend this place to have good fine dining! We were 4 friends and really got disappointed.

Service seemed a bit overwhelmed. Ambience modern, more bistro style. Unfortunately it wasn't particularly clean (it felt like there was leftover food from the whole day under the tables). Good value for money: portions huge and very tasty. Only the paneer curry was, according to my people, very bland and lacking in taste. Absolute recommendation: Garlic Rotti!

The food and drinks are ordered at the checkout, you can then take a seat in the next room and receive a beeper when the food is ready for collection. The few tables should be cleaned as soon as one becomes available, mine was not clean, the other tables were also not wiped when they became available. The food was excellent, the portion size was ok, and the price was too. I would have liked to drink a beer with it, unfortunately there are only non-alcoholic drinks. I'd love to come back when I'm in DO.

Einer der besten indischen Restaurants bei denen ich jemals war. Mega Portionen, sehr lecker und super nette Leute

Nie wieder. Personal ist unhöflich und ruppig. Ein Essen wurde falsch zubereitet. Kein Bedauern oder Ähnliches. Musste selber ca. 4 mal aufstehen. Personal kommt auch dann nicht zum Gast. Preise sind anspruchsvoll eher hoch…. Nachtrag auf die Antwort vom Curry Masala. Ich selbst werde kein Geld mehr bei dem Laden lassen. Mit Kopfhörern im Ohr und dementsprechend unkonzentriert wurde dort meine Reklamation angenommen. Der Koch habe sich vertan. Nach dem Motto: ich bin unschuldig. Dass das Essen aber über die Theke des Kassierers ging, davon kein Wort. Meine Begleitung und ich kennen die Gerichte nicht auswendig. Aber das Personal sollte es aber erkennen. Die Vorsuppe war wässrig. Meine Freundin hatte zuvor in der Filiale in Essen diese gegessen und mir empfohlen.Nach Brot musste ich fragen. Natürlich musste ich zum Tresen gehen und dann nochmal um und es selber abholen. Es waren nur zwei andere Gäste mit Kind dort. Also nicht überfüllt. Ein bringen der Beilagen , damit ich in Ruhe essen kann wäre möglich gewesen Übrigens war es mein Geburtstag und ich wollte meine Freundin zum Essen ausführen und einen schönen Nachmittag haben. Dieses hat das Personal mit seinem abfälligen Verhalten durchaus versaut. Schön, dass Sie Ihre Abläufe ändern oder überprüfen, davon habe ich ja nichts. Die Quittung kann ich Ihnen gerne vorzeigen

Leider muss ich meine Erfahrung hier teilen. Nach 30 Minuten Wartezeit habe ich nachgefragt, wie es mit dem Essen aussieht, und es stellte sich heraus, dass sie noch nicht einmal damit begonnen hatten, obwohl das Restaurant nicht besonders voll war. Die lange Wartezeit und mangelnde Kommunikation waren enttäuschend. Auf der positiven Seite muss ich jedoch sagen, dass das Essen, wo es endlich serviert wurde, gut geschmeckt hat. Hoffentlich verbessert sich die Servicequalität in Zukunft, um die Gesamterfahrung zu optimieren.

Wirklich leckeres Essen zu guten Preisen. Wir haben 3 Hauptgerichte bestellt (vegan) und zwei Getränke..für ca 41€ absolut top! Das Ananas Curry muss ich unbedingt nochmal essen! Das war so super fruchtig. Gebratener Reis war der Favorit meines Partners und Linsencurry auch sehr lecker, aber nicht unser Platz 1. :) Bedienung gibt es nicht, man bestellt vorn und holt die Sachen dann ab..evtl kann sich das Lokal deshalb die Preise so top setzen.. unterbricht kurz das Gespräch, aber ist in Ordnung..das Sitzen draussen an der viel befahrenen Straße war ok, trotzdem etwas schade. Wir kommen sehr gern wieder ! Edit: Wir sind mittlerweile Dauergast..meist bestellen wir vor und holen ab, dann wird in Ruhe Zuhause bei einer Serie geschaut. Wir liebens. <3

Ich fand die Bedienung klasse, vor allem die junge Dame mit schwarzen Haaren die mich bedient hatte, war super freundlich und engagiert. 😄

Wir waren zu zweit zur Mittagszeit essen und waren total zufrieden! Die Mitarbeiter waren super freundlich und das Essen war richtig lecker! Wir hatten zwei verschiedene Currys, die super gewürzt waren. Besonders der Tofu war extrem lecker! Wir waren zum Mittagstisch und mit Neotaste (Gutscheinapp) da, aber die Preise sind auch ohne Gutscheine oder Mittagstisch für die riesigen Portionen sehr fair! Als Getränk können wir den Mango Lassi besonders empfehlen. Das war bestimmt nicht der letzte Besuch :)

Ich warte hier super lange. Es kommen immer wieder Menschen die werden vorher bedient. Draußen rauchen Menschen, da macht der Besitzer nichts, der Geruch zieht in das Restaurant und es stinkt sehr unangenehm und passt so gar nicht zum Essen.

Ich hatte ein Linsen curry. Das Essen hatte sehr wenig Würze, das ist wirklich kein Vergleich zu anderen Indern. Dazu kommt, dass wir sehr lange (40 min etwa) auf das Essen warten mussten.

Das Essen ist richtig einzigartig und die Ambiente ist super. Es gab leider ein Problem im Badezimmer und ich habe darüber hingewiesen aber es gab keine Reaktion darauf von dem Personal. Ich glaube sie haben viel zu tun.

Leider schmeckt das Essen bisher viel zu versalzen.

The store is self service, which makes it a bit tedious to get your meal, but this does not detract from the food. The staff was really friendly and overall the self service aspect was not bad. Es ist an einer ziemlich vielbefahrenen Straße gelegen aber man kann in einer der Seitenstraßen parken und gut dahin laufen. Ganz in der Nähe ist aber auch ne U-Bahn Station. Es hatte etwas vom Imbiss Charakter, da man vorne am Tresen bestellen muss und dann einen Summer bekommt. Aber das tut dem guten Erlebnis dort keinen Abbruch. Das Essen kam ziemlich schnell und war sehr lecker.

War heute das erste Mal dort..... Das Essen wurde frisch zubereitet...es war heiß und die Portion war üppig für einen mehr als fairen Preis..... Es hat sehr lecker geschmeckt. Scharf bedeutet scharf - exzellent! Auch das Personal war echt nett.... Das wird nicht mein letzter Besuch sein - SEHR EMPFEHLENSWERT!!!

Lächerlich die positiven Rezensionen! Service und Ambiente sind in Ordnung, aber das Essen ist weit von jedem Standard entfernt, den man bei Indischen Essen erwarten darf. Der Reis pappig, das Nan nur halb durch und damit kaum genießbar und das Chicken in einer mehligen Tomatensauce.

Sehr leckeres Indisches Essen! Esse dort jetzt regelmäßig seit mehr als 4 Jahren und mir gefiel es immer. Vorallem das Goa Curry mit Hänchen und das Rotti kann ich wärmstens empfehlen👍 Das Ambiente ist auch sehr gut gewählt und man kann dort schön sitzen. Mein einzigen Kritikpunkte sind die Preise die meiner Meinung nach ein wenig zu hoch sind und die Wartezeiten , die das ein oder andere mal sehr lange dauern. Alles in allem sehr schöner Laden. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen!

Sehr leckeres Curry und super nettes Personal.

Das Lamm-Biryani 💕 war super, das Fleisch zart und der Reis perfekt gewürzt und nicht trocken! Das Delhi-Curry mit Huhn, mild mit Kräutern gewürzt und das scharfe Lamm-Curry sehr lecker! Perfekt dazu die frischen Gemüsepakora. Absolut empfehlenswert, wir kommen gerne wieder.

Tried Kerala Style Biriyani..To be frank..it is not having the taste of Kerala Style Biriyani ,as I am from Kerala.The taste was good but not the taste of Biriyani.Better to name it as Chicken fried rice rather than Biriyani. Chicken pieces were similar to that of Chicken Fried Rice. In Kerala style Biriyani recipe carrot,green peas are not an ingredient. Please take this review as a good suggestion and serve a perfect Kerala style Chicken Biriyani.
