We were today at the Restaurant , and placed our order. 2 tables ordered way after us and they received their food way before us and we waited for more than 1 hour and 15 min. We afterwards decided to leave the restaurant but were requested not to because they were gonna serve ours. They then brought the food which itself was colder as the thalis plate. We tried to eat it as we did not want to waste it, but was unable to eat it. It was COLD and STALE. We asked the waitress (who was kind btw) to check if thats how it should be, and admitted upon consulting it herself that it should normally have been a HOT MEAL and asked for forgiveness on behalf of the restaurant.

A great spot in Germany where Authentic kerala dishes are served. Fish pollichathu,Chatti paal Porotta,beef Porotta are highly recommended.Homely food,warm welcoming atmosphere, great ambiance, friendly staff. Altogether worth a visit 💯 We'll visit again soon 🥰

I recently dined at Dixon's kitechen at dortmund and was blown away by the incredible food and exceptional servive The standout dish was the chatti paal porotta and chicken biriyani which was cooked to perfection. The flavors were bold and well-balanced, with each bite a delight. The portion size was generous, and the presentation was impressive. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met.

I heard this restaurant from social media and one of the best experiences and calm atmosphere. I tried chatti paluu porottaa, it is incredibly fresh , with balanced flavours and the artistic presentation . It was an awesome experience and I must say to my Indian and other friends about this restaurant .

Now , after 8 months it feels like home.Stomach is filled with tastey chatti pal porotta and delicious Dixon's special Biriyani. Kerala special flavors is also here in Germany. Most recommended Kerala restaurant. Hope I can come here more. Homely atmosphere and friendly service is most attractive.

An amazing Indian Kerala cuisine restaurant. We were on our way back to Netherlands from Berlin and stopped over in Dortmund for dinner. A quick Google search landed us on Dixon’s . One of the best decisions we made, food taste was very authentic. Will keep visiting !! Fish Polichathu is a trade mark. Met the chef Dixon as well , a true gentleman and professional.

I used to go to Dixons kitchen with my friends at the weekends. I would say it's one of the best south Indian non vegetarian restaurant in Germany. The food was so delicious and the service was really great. Every dishes that I tried was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Must try "parotta with beef" and "chattychoru"👌😄

We went as a group at Dixon's kitchen today. We placed order for Kizhi biriyani, palporotta,neychor, and chicken stew with idiyappam. We enjoyed all the dishes a lot. In addition, the Atmosphere and customer service was really good. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who would like to give authentic South Indian specialities a try!

A very authentic Indian restaurant, I especially like the typical dishes from the Indian region of Kerala! Favorite dish Porotta Beef!!! Definitely try it!!! But the paneer butter masala is also amazing! For people who like to eat fish: meen pollichathe a typical dish from Kerala!!! Very friendly staff..all in all: top!!!

35 minutes for order to arrive. After waiting for 35 minutes the chicken is uncooked, old, maybe 1-2 weeks old. Not chewable, stinky. Think 10 times before visiting this place. 0 customer service 0 taste. In Indian restaurant they use curry sauce which you get for 1-2 euros in supermarket and sell the curry with names like chicken curry, chicken tikka etc etc. Really worthless.

I ordered “chatti porotta” here and it was really tasty, near Dortmund main station you can find this restaurant with a quiet and comfortable environment. Indian dishes are all particularly great here and everyone must try them.

I recently visited Dixion Kirchen in the hospital district and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, ideal for a relaxed meal. The Indian cuisine here is simply outstanding. I tried the chicken tikka masala and the samosas, and both dishes were full of flavor and perfectly seasoned. The selection of vegetarian and vegan options is also impressive! The service was quick and very friendly. The staff were helpful and gave great recommendations which made the experience even better. Overall, I can only warmly recommend Dixion Churches. A fantastic place for all Indian food lovers! I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Very tasty south Indian Masala Dosa. However no authentic coconut chutney or sambar as side dish. Only cash is accepted and no proper receipt is provided.

The restaurant is small and cozy, with space for about 30 people. The food was really good. The main courses cost around €15-20, which is absolutely reasonable given the quality. I would visit the restaurant again. Unfortunately, there were a few negatives: the atmosphere wasn't particularly inviting and the service left a lot to be desired. The service was quite slow and forgot some orders. The restaurant is located on a quiet side street, but there is no outdoor seating and no dedicated parking spaces.

It's very good experience and feel like our home country

We went for Onam Sadhya but yes at 5 pm as it was all booked before 4 pm . We booked for 5 pm , got our food at 5:30 pm , which was still cold but no complaints as sambhar , daal , and veggies made up for it . But all curd based food has spoiled . We didnt had any of it even the butter milk was tasting funny . I dont know about others but i didnt felt any warmth or welcome from the restaurants … but yes would definitely try their biryani once , which has been recommended… overall it was an Ok experience…

This was my fourth time at Dixon's Kitchen, and the Onam Sadhya was absolutely delicious! 👌 For anyone missing the taste of home, this is definitely a place worth visiting.

It was my first experience with Dixon's Kitchen and that was very nice. I ate parotta and beef curry. It was very tasty, good quantity and price. Especially atmosphere was very beautiful. It felt likes real Kerala restaurant or "nadan thattukada". The owner was very friendly. Am very happy to say that you can enjoy with friends or family.

Despite pre-ordering, we waited over two hours for our food. But that seems to be standard because there was no apology whatsoever. A meal was forgotten and the waitress didn't even notice. The drinks alone took forever. When I wanted a mango lassi for dessert, I had to wait another 20 minutes. I found portions a bit small. The fact that card payments are not possible fits with the rest of the service.

Cash Only Restaurant We did enjoy the food and service! The food sadly was only mediocre tastewise, which was somewhat disappointing. We found good vegan options, but would have wished for more variety in ingredients (Veggies, Legumes, co.)

The culinary offerings were delectable, and the portions were generous.

It started with a delicious appetizer. Vegetables fried in batter and served with a sauce for dipping. Unfortunately, a less tasty main course followed for both my girlfriend and me. The sauce for both dishes was very watery. The meat in both dishes was not well seasoned and tasted unappealing. We had chicken once and sheep once. The sheep was extremely hard and tough.

Unfortunately it didn't convince me. The food was nothing special and a small dog wasn't allowed in either. I had to go back home and take him away. Next time I'll go somewhere else.

I had ordered dish Sadhya (Kerala meals). As some side dish was smelling bad ( potato curry) I politely asked them to check if it's actually not fit for eating. But the waiter ignored me for sometime and when I asked again he said it's just the smell of coconut. I couldn't finish the entire meal as everything was on the same plate with the spoiled curry. I'm definitely not happy with the restaurant as they don't bother to maintain their food's quality and accept their mistakes. I understand that food might go bad I was not asking for any refund but just a good customer treatment is THE BASIC!

Possibly best Indian food in NRW and definitely best Kerala cuisine. The food is completely authentic, tastes just like India. It is on the pricier side, but worth it. Karimeen Polichathu (Pearlspot fry in a Banana leaf - you need to preorder) is the star of the show. Service takes time, but can't complain because the food is worth it

My friends and I had an extremely unpleasant experience. The staff was extremely rude to us from the very beginning. To make matters worse, after waiting for almost 45 minutes, we were served a dish that was promised to us within 15 minutes. On top of that, we found a hair in our food, which was extremely off-putting and unacceptable. Throughout the entire meal, we were treated poorly and made to feel like an inconvenience rather than valued customers. The restaurant staff were discussing 100% discounts, but to be honest, that didn't seem like enough compensation for the terrible experience we had. We believe that instead of discounts, they should have apologized for the subpar food and service we received. We left the restaurant feeling incredibly disappointed and frustrated. We had high hopes for an enjoyable dining experience, but what we experienced was far from that. This has been by far the worst dining experience any of us have ever had, and we do not intend to pay for a meal that we found to be so utterly disappointing.

That was the worst experience ever. The staff was rude and unprofessional. When we found hair in our food and asked them to resolve the issue, they treated us poorly and called us names. Furthermore, we noticed that they were not following any hygiene policies. I would never recommend this place to anyone. should never visit this.

It is important to note that the food has not been finished yet, and even if it was the last bite, it is still the responsibility of the restaurant. This is because consuming unfinished or improperly stored food can lead to health issues. During our visit to the restaurant, one of our friends requested a song to be changed but was corrected by other group members who reminded him that this was a South Indian restaurant, and such requests were not appropriate. Despite this, he persisted in making the request. Additionally, we did not bring any outside drinks, and there was some confusion regarding the water, which we had to ask the staff about. Furthermore, we noticed that the staff in the kitchen were not wearing any hand gloves or hair net, which is concerning from a hygiene perspective. And staff behaviour was very disrespectful.

Terrible terrible service We went in as a group of friends very enthusiastic to try some South Indian food which is quite rare in this part of Germany And was met with very delayed service and rude staff . We got our order almost an hour after ordering The kitchen staff does not wear any hairnets or such and we found hair in our food they also suggested that we put our hair in the food on purpose We were also given a refund for that particular food But the staff was mostly acting like they were doing us such a big favour The entire demeanour of the staff there wasn’t up to the standards of how someone in the hospitality service should be . Being a Malayali myself I’m very sad to see a Malayali restaurant in Germany like this
