Taj Mahal in Hannover

Very tasty and staff very friendly.

The food is top-notch, and the people behind the counter try to resolve almost any issue. What I don't understand is why they assign the phone to someone who doesn't speak German? Unfortunately, they've changed the packaging to a version that easily dissolves PFAS, which compromises the quality of the food. If they changed that, you could order food without a negative thought.

We redeemed the 4-course menu deal from NeoTaste here. Then there is a special menu that is not on the menu. As a starter there were two pieces of chicken tikka and two pieces of pakoras. This was followed by coconut soup for everyone. The main course was rice and two dishes, one with chicken and one vegetarian (without extra like halloumi or similar). For dessert there was rice pudding. All in all it tasted very tasty! But the price is a bit more expensive, and the “deal” doesn’t change that. But the staff is very friendly and the seating is comfortable.

The food was very spicy, so I got chilies that were a little hotter. All in all, great store, service was super friendly. Will definitely come again.

Charming Indian restaurant. The atmosphere is pleasant, although the benches are a bit small for two people. Very friendly and attentive service. Food quality is very good. For the 5th star, the meat in the dishes can be a little higher. It was a bit poor and without an appetizer we would probably have stayed a little hungry. Nevertheless, a recommendation.

Currently a solid Indian place - we go there once a year and a few years ago the taste was really great. Last year we were disappointed with the taste, this time it was better again, even if there are even better Indian restaurants in Hanover. I found the quality of the chicken to be mediocre. The variety of flavors was partly good, but partly more flavors would be desirable for a top rating. The portions were large. The service only spoke English, which was ok for us. The waiting time was normal. In terms of ambience, the Taj Mahal is probably unbeatable in Hanover thanks to the special benches.

I had dinner there with my partner last night and we ordered the "Royal Rice Table" menu. Everything was delicious, especially the drinks. The mocktails were really fresh and delicious. The food was flavorful, not too strong. We sat there for almost 3 hours. Each course was served at a sufficient distance so that you had time to digest. The waiter was super nice and friendly. We were always informed and advised about food. In any case, one more time.

We came here with an online reservation because of the very good reviews and were probably just unlucky?? The restaurant was very full, all the waiters were very stressed, and the greeting was correspondingly harsh. The waiting time for the first order, including drinks, was 30 minutes. What was unpleasant was that we had to draw attention to ourselves several times. It was drafty in some places, which could also be observed at the neighboring tables, and was due to the lack of a vestibule and the constantly opening door when the temperatures outside were below zero. The food was really good and we didn't have to wait long to pay. Overall, we wouldn't come back, at least not on a Saturday evening.

We were there with relatives and everyone was thrilled. The food was super delicious 😋 and so were the homemade ice teas. The service was attentive and over the course of the evening we learned a lot about the spiciness of the food and wedding celebrations. Thank you for the lovely evening, we would love to come back.

The food and service was impeccable! The ambience is not 100% my taste, I prefer LED lighting in restaurants and not conventional traditional lamps.

Amazing food and very good and kind service!

My friend had often raved about this shop to me and today we had delicious Indian food! We ordered for pickup today and were able to pick up the food 10 minutes (!!!) later! Both dishes (Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken) were super tasty, and just the right amount of spicy (as requested)! We didn't even manage to take pictures... We'll do that when we eat there soon. Looking forward to it!

I was there a few weeks ago. We got a place for two without a reservation, even though it was very busy, great. Service was very friendly and attentive, very tasty food and, above all, it was pretty quick. You felt comfortable and the atmosphere was good too. Definitely worth a visit again :)

We always enjoy coming to the Taj Mahal. The atmosphere is very cozy, the sofas are comfortable, the background music is quiet enough so that you can still have a good conversation and the decoration of the room is very loving. The staff is super nice and attentive and depending on how busy the restaurant is, you can even have a longer conversation with them. The menu offers a wide range of dishes, but there are also a variety of vegetarian options. Before each order we ask about the desired level of spiciness and this has always met our taste (with "mild" the food is really mild and easy to eat, with "medium/medium" it had the perfect level of spiciness for us). All in all, in our opinion, a visit is highly recommended for those interested in Indian food and those who are culinary curious!

The food was incredible. The atmosphere and staff are friendly. The wait time for food is a bit long but absolutely worth the wait.

1. Faced discrimination: I went with my friend for dinner. Now, we noticed, that the workers behaved differently compared to German customers. They also lit up candles to all the tables, except ours. This was not mere a silly mistake but utter negligence to your countrymen. Their attitude was, oh they are Indians, so anything can be done with them and no greetings or atequete was needed. 2. Extremely poor delivery: Finally, I ordered food from them via Uber Eats. The curry portions were less consecutive days. About 70% of rice could be eaten. Then last two days, the curry was less than 50% of the container, which was disgracefully less and disrespectful. Now, I only could eat 40% of rice with that. Then being hungry I called the shop. After, 5-6 hours in the evening the owner called me back. Offered me an ice cream next time. Now I'm not a beggar. I was hungry. What I will do with an ice cream? He did not even ask my choice if I really eat ice cream. 3. Unapologetic, rude, audacious owner: When I called the restaurant, neither the owner apologized, nor asked me for a solution of my preference. Instead, he keep telling I should not complain or just tell the problem in a soft way. Dude, I was hungry even after spending 16 Eur per meal and you are providing less amount for consecutive last 4 deliveries. You are lucky that I was still polite. Reply to owner's message (03.12.2024): I did not order two meals for three people. I believe you did not understand me well since I spoke English. So, no, my message reflects fact. In general, I don’t complain for a single mistake. But when its repeated, its deliberate.

It was amazing experience dining at Taj Mahal Hannover. The staff were really nice and the food itself was of top quality. Our preferences were taken into account and the hospitality was really heart warming to us. There was a complimentary sweet celebration which was such a nice gesture from the staff as it was our first marriage anniversary.
