I like the food very much chapati and curry taste like Indian style

Our first time at TAJ. The restaurant is modern yet beautifully and traditionally decorated. We received a very warm welcome from our regular waiter, Munich (formerly at Chenab), and the owner of TAJ. As always, they were incredibly welcoming! The food was amazing, from the samosas to the Amrit Sari Chole and the Paneer Tikka Masala – all vegetarian, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. We highly recommend adding a garlic naan with plenty of garlic – it's incredible!! The price/performance ratio is excellent! We thought it was hard to imagine better Indian food, but TAJ proved us wrong!! We'll be back, and you'll become our new favorite Indian restaurant. Last night we had dinner almost at the end of the day and they served us very kindly, excellent service, the place was very nicely decorated and looked very clean, the food was FABULOUS, the price was reasonable 👌👌, 100% recommended.

Excellent experience hosting Christmas party with my team here. They handled a big group effortlessly, catered to different spice levels, and the atmosphere was perfect for celebrating. One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve tried! The curries were rich and perfectly spiced, the naan was fresh and fluffy, and everything tasted homemade. The staff was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended for staff parties, events and family meal.

We held our Christmas party at Taj near Charlottenburg Palace and were absolutely delighted. Upon arrival, we received a very warm welcome from the waiter and enjoyed excellent, attentive service throughout the entire evening. The food was outstanding, freshly prepared, and of a high standard. The very fair price-performance ratio is also particularly noteworthy. The modern, well-maintained, and stylish interior perfectly complements the overall experience. A restaurant that impresses both culinarily and atmospherically – we will gladly return.

This restaurant offers quality food, good service, and an excellent price. If you like Indian food, this is the right place. And another positive point is the location. It easily deserves 10 stars! I highly recommend it. When you come, you can order the appetizers: Samosa and Bhatura. There are many refreshing drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

Endlich ein indisches Restaurant im Kiez und sogar mit Mittagskarte! Die Gerichte schmecken echt gut und sind die Portionsgrößen sind genau richtig. Es gibt diverse indische Tees und Mango/Salziges Lassi die gut zum Essen passen. Der Inhaber und alle Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, wir kommen gern und regelmäßig wieder 🍽️🙂

The food and the service were really good!

Very comfortably furnished, not too big. Outdoor seating in the summer. Friendly service. Very good naan, good butter chicken, only the palak paneer wasn't to our taste. The spinach is pureed, so it has a mushy/pastey consistency.

Disappointing. Went for lunch and had a very bland mushroom curry and masala chai. The portions are generous and the rice was well prepared but my main meal and drink were just boring. Service was non-existent.

This place is seriously delicious :) I ordered fish, lamb, and chicken curry, and all three were delicious and had no gamey odor! They also served a generous amount of rice, making it a filling meal. The garlic naan was also delicious! The mango lassi was also superb. Highly recommended for a meal after sightseeing in the surrounding area.

Not an "Indian" like many others, at least that's my impression. First things first: the food seems better to me than elsewhere. I've noticed several times that the dishes here are better seasoned. While there's a certain spiciness that quickly fades, they're generally more flavorful than in comparable Indian restaurants. They still start with a variety of sauces with naan bread, which isn't always the norm anymore. The service is very attentive, and the ambiance, especially in the front garden when the weather's nice, is very pleasant. When we're in the area, this is our first stop: an Indian restaurant where we feel comfortable, and the food is a bit better than in comparable restaurants.

It's a really nice place. I went there for lunch with my partner and we had a great time. The food was delicious, just like you'd expect from Indian cuisine, with very spicy and rich flavors, and the service was excellent. We're from Tenerife and would go back to Germany just to eat there again!

I ordered aloo tikki chaat. There were no spices, no chili, no onions in the potatoes, nothing at all. It was as if they had just taken regular potatoes and fried them. It wasn't crispy either, because it was floating in the sauce. Cilantro? None. Instead, they simply put two pieces of parsley on top. What does parsley have to do with it anyway? I didn't understand that either. As a Turkish person, I make a much better aloo tikki chaat at home. Rating: minus 10 out of 10

A small Indian restaurant with a fitting atmosphere (advance reservations for two people are recommended). A spacious, beautiful terrace overlooking the quiet Schloßstraße. The food is plentiful and delicious. The predominantly male staff is very friendly.

If you're looking for good Indian food, this is definitely the place to go! But back to the review: We went out to eat after the trade fair, and I was hungry for Indian food. So we packed up our car and headed to the Taj Restaurant. We were immediately seated in the garden. Despite our chaotic food order, with frequently changing dish selections and special requests, everyone was served the right food! A colleague is currently switching to a ketogenic diet, and this was taken into account very precisely when ordering. The two waiters who served us were very friendly and accommodating! The starters arrived shortly afterward – my colleague raved about the lentil soup, and I shared the vegetarian pakora, which were also excellent! The main courses were also very, very tasty; everyone really enjoyed their food. Highly recommended; I would love to go there every day.

We went there on a Monday for lunch and it was very nice! We do not prefer very spicy food and the flavor was just right for us. The Samosa, lassi and Tika masala was delicious. I really enjoyed it and will definitely come back and continue exploring the menu. :-) I was particularly surprised by the vegetarian starter platter for two. It was completely different in terms of design and tasted really great. Vegetables and cream cheese were not fried, but grilled and spread with a delicious marinade. But I was also absolutely impressed by the other dishes (Chicken Mint Tikka and Aloo Gobi Masala). In my opinion the price/performance ratio is completely ok.

Great restaurant not far from the castle 🏰

Severe gastrointestinal problems after visit (end of February 25). First of all: We (8 people) celebrated the farewell of our friend here, who has been eating there for years and is happy. I didn't find the service particularly friendly or attentive. The food was good. But I found it disappointing that we were basically kicked out an hour before the restaurant closed with the music getting louder and louder. The music got louder and louder after we had just ordered another round of drinks. You could hardly have a conversation and it was just uncomfortable. My husband didn't think the toilet was particularly clean. 30 hours after the visit, the first of us began to experience massive gastrointestinal symptoms. This affected (only) those who had drinks with ice (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). I wouldn't go here again.

Got to this place by the reviews from google, and i got satisfied with the service and food. Only the Prices are over the top, and quite too expensive. I understand one has to pay for the rent and heating etc. so going for dinner with the partner becomes a luxury... unfortunate! But the people were friendly and very supportive by giving us the leftover packed along!

In the most beautiful location, the restaurant is bright and friendly. Despite the time being advanced, you will be greeted with a smile when you enter. Elegantly reserved, friendly and helpful, the service skilfully stays in the background and gives the necessary space to the food, the location and of course the person you are talking to this evening. The kitchen surprises with very good and skillfully prepared dishes. Short and painless: Happy again and keep it up 👍🏻

It's the best Indian restaurant that we have tried in Berlin so far. Nice atmosphere, welcoming service and nice food (Punjabi style), prepared in authentic Indian style. I recommend Garlic Naan with any Indian curry/veggie of your choice.

Good Indian restaurant in a prime location. The naan bread is very tasty. My main course, Batak Sabji with duck breast and vegetables, was well seasoned, spicy but not too spicy. The service was quick and attentive.

Wir sind als Familie seit Jahren in diesem Restaurant regelmäßig, sowohl zum Mittag, Abendessen oder für einen Drink eingekehrt. Seit Jahren, eigentlich seit der Eröffnung werden wir extrem freundlichen und familiär bedient und empfangen. Das Restaurant kocht authentisch und kürzlich wurde die Speisekarte aktualisiert, laut dem Inhaber: “ real deal Indian cuisine”. Wir lieben es jetzt, umso mehr und haben heute wiederum zu Mittag gegessen. Lecker, Well done - Sterling Job! Weiter so.

Been here multiple times for the chicken dishes especially. The Veg Manchurian and Aloo Tikki Chat are a must try here. Love going to this cozy place.
