Got to this place by the reviews from google, and i got satisfied with the service and food. Only the Prices are over the top, and quite too expensive. I understand one has to pay for the rent and heating etc. so going for dinner with the partner becomes a luxury... unfortunate! But the people were friendly and very supportive by giving us the leftover packed along!

In the most beautiful location, the restaurant is bright and friendly. Despite the time being advanced, you will be greeted with a smile when you enter. Elegantly reserved, friendly and helpful, the service skilfully stays in the background and gives the necessary space to the food, the location and of course the person you are talking to this evening. The kitchen surprises with very good and skillfully prepared dishes. Short and painless: Happy again and keep it up 👍🏻

Relaxed, friendly local with a nice selection. I can hardly tolerate spiciness, but the food was very pleasantly seasoned (lamb korma) It was very nicely presented. The waiters were also very friendly and approachable. Yummy !

The combination of garlic naan and paneer Chilly was appetising 🤤 Aalo tikki and mango lassi were as usual.

Cozy atmosphere, you can eat there at any time in the afternoon. The server was very pleasant and smiling. Regarding the dishes, they were excellent with good portions. If there are players, try the mango digestive!

It's the best Indian restaurant that we have tried in Berlin so far. Nice atmosphere, welcoming service and nice food (Punjabi style), prepared in authentic Indian style. I recommend Garlic Naan with any Indian curry/veggie of your choice.

Good Indian restaurant in a prime location. The naan bread is very tasty. My main course, Batak Sabji with duck breast and vegetables, was well seasoned, spicy but not too spicy. The service was quick and attentive.

I asked for the real Indian flavor and that’s what I got. The Dal Tadka was just great, accompanied by papad and onion + lemon as we have it home. Definitely recommend it :)

My friends and I were craving chole bhature, and this Indian restaurant did not disappoint! The ambiance was slightly dark, but the focus was all on the food. To start, we were served complimentary papad with three different chutneys—such a great touch! Then came the star of the show: the chole bhature. The taste was absolutely amazing, full of authentic flavors. We ended our meal with mango lassi, which was the perfect sweet finale. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for delicious Indian food!😋

Wir sind als Familie seit Jahren in diesem Restaurant regelmäßig, sowohl zum Mittag, Abendessen oder für einen Drink eingekehrt. Seit Jahren, eigentlich seit der Eröffnung werden wir extrem freundlichen und familiär bedient und empfangen. Das Restaurant kocht authentisch und kürzlich wurde die Speisekarte aktualisiert, laut dem Inhaber: “ real deal Indian cuisine”. Wir lieben es jetzt, umso mehr und haben heute wiederum zu Mittag gegessen. Lecker, Well done - Sterling Job! Weiter so.

Been here multiple times for the chicken dishes especially. The Veg Manchurian and Aloo Tikki Chat are a must try here. Love going to this cozy place.

Tasty and pure authentic indian food in Berlin! Loved it!

We ordered both the lamb and chicken biryani, and they were absolutely delicious! Normally, I’m not a fan of lamb because I can’t stand the smell, but at this restaurant, I actually enjoyed it. The flavors were so rich and perfectly balanced, with tender, juicy meat and wonderfully spiced, aromatic rice that was cooked just right. The rice itself was bursting with flavor. This is easily one of the best biryanis I’ve had, and we’ll definitely be coming back for more!

I had the Aloo Gobhi(potato’s and cauliflower) and Amritsari Chole(Chickpeas)and enjoyed it a lot. Of course I asked for Indian spicy and they complied. The Mango lassi is also worth trying at this restaurant!

The tandoori chicken was delicious. I had the various curry sauces with toasted bread (nan), which was also delicious. They were friendly and the food prices were reasonable.

I almost tried every Indian restaurant here in berlin as well out of the town also but here in taj restaurant it was my first time and it was amazing I had grill item and some naan it was mind blowing , best grill dish I ever had deserve more than 5 star highly recommend

Three of us split chicken tikka masala, chicken jalfrezzi, dal makhani, navatari (spelling?) Korma, garlic naan. The food was amazing and great spot for lunch when visiting the palace.

The Taj Restaurant offers an excellent culinary experience. The food was outstanding and the free appetizer was a great perk. The service was attentive and friendly, the atmosphere inviting. The toilets were spotlessly clean. Despite the full house, the dishes came quickly. At the end there was a nightcap on the house. Overall a fantastic experience – highly recommended!

The restaurant is close to Charlottenburg Palace, which makes access easier for those visiting the region. The environment is well decorated and has pleasant background music, providing a relaxing atmosphere. The service could be more friendly and welcoming, as the waiters are not demonstrated great enthusiasm in serving customers. The food experience was disappointing. Despite informing the waiter that the dish should not contain pepper, the order arrived spicy, making it impossible for my mother-in-law to enjoy it. As a great fan of Indian cuisine, I was very upset with the kitchen failure, as the pepper masked the flavor of the other ingredients. The positive reviews I read about the restaurant created high expectations, which unfortunately were not met. In my opinion, the restaurant is at an average level, with areas for improvement. One aspect that really bothered me was the excessive presence of flies in the place, making the experience even more unpleasant.

We are more than thrilled! By chance we found this very attractive Indian restaurant, which invites you to sit outside, and we were not disappointed. We had the butter chicken, for which we were given free rice when we asked. The naan bread with garlic… I have never eaten such a delicious one! At the beginning you get a small appetizer on the house. Price / performance top as well as the friendly service of the staff! We will be back.

Super tasty, definitely recommended! Opposite Charlottenburg Palace is the Indian restaurant Taj. It offers a wide selection of fish, meat and vegetarian dishes. All ingredients are very fresh and deliciously prepared. Sects have eaten so well near museums. Try it without permission!!

Very good Indian restaurant, quite suitable for sitting outside, rather unusually furnished inside. The food and the lassis were excellent. The dips were very tasty. The serving of the tandoori dishes was impressive. What's cool is that the restaurant always has warm food open on weekends.

I can confidently say that Taj serves the best Indian food in Berlin (and I have tried a lot of Indian food in and around the city!). The Lamb Bhuna is incredibly delicious, and the fluffy bhatura is a perfect complement. The outdoor seating area adds to the great dining experience with its lovely ambiance. Highly recommend!!!!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Taj today for dinner. Above all: here they have the best naan ever, sensational! The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy, the dining room was tastefully decorated and the service was consistently attentive and extremely courteous. The paneer pakoras as a starter were wonderfully crispy, the lamb korma was super tender and spicy and the gulab jamun and shrikand, with their subtle sweetness, formed a nice conclusion to our meal. The little liqueur on the house put the cherry on top of the whole thing. Our visit to the Taj was wonderful, we felt very comfortable, ate really well and would therefore be happy to come back.

Staff is extremely rude. We ordered online and the delivery time on app said 21.30. as the order was delayed we called the Restaurant to ask about it and the man on call was fighting with us saying we could not wait, have no patience and troubling the hotel staff. All this because he had delivery time as 21.46 in his system. He could have just told us it’s on the way and this was enough. We were ready to wait. Do not recommend this place to anyone. Don’t need such attitude !

Went there after long time. Food is very authentic... Service as usual top notch... Prices are way better and ambience was lively. We saw EUFA final and it was fun!!! Happy to recommend anytime :)

We sat outside. It's really cozy under the trees. Service was on point, drinks and food mostly came quickly. The prices were certainly high, but it also tasted pretty good. We felt comfortable and can recommend it.

we truly enjoyed and loved every dish we tried here. Plus points for the huge beer garten, what a perfect place to chill with great homemade cocktails along with great food! Currently they have a summer offer going on and you can get long drinks starting from only 4.9€! Of course there’s always the standout dishes which to us were the samosas (5.5€), Jhinga Madras (18.50€) and Chicken Tikka (16.50€).

At Taj Indian Charlottenburg you can enjoy the best of Northern and Souther Indian cuisine. Aromatic spices, quality ingredient and distinctive flavors are the main differentiators of Taj. Don’t miss the chance to try something new and exciting! We ordered a few dishes from which I must highlight the chicken tandoori (very tender, grilled to perfection and seasoned with love), their mixed pakoras (not only at all, very tasty and crunchy), the Lamb Madras (really tender and the coconut curry sauce was just amazing), and the Amritsari Chole (a chickpea dish that I could not get enough of). I was also quite surprised to see the dimension of their Bhatura bread. It was so big, but also very fluffy, and it was the perfect companion to pair with the previous saucy dishes. I am happy that an Indian friend recommended most of the dishes, but don't worry because the staff is really friendly and will definitely help you get the best of their menu. I have to call out the fact that the dishes might take a little bit longer than usual to arrive because they are freshly prepared at the moment (e.g. the curries), which is surely noticed in the final taste. I recommend you to get some apetizers/starters while you wait for the mains. I would suggest the mixed pakoras and some samosas. Dinner at its best - the vegetarian chickpeas with potatoes, the chicken in curry sauce with peppers and garlic or the tandoori chicken, everything tasted excellent. A big compliment to the staff — both the waiter and (presumably) the boss took the time to explain the difference between naan, papadum and bhatura to us. We decided on Bhatura. We'd love to come back!

I've eaten in a few Indian restaurants but nowhere is the food as good as here. Have been to Taj a few times and have never been disappointed. In addition to the food, the cocktails are also recommended. Overall, the price-performance ratio is very, very good. Go and see for yourself ;-)

I've known this place for over 40 years. Back then it was still called Dani's Bierstübel and was a real Berlin corner bar without shishi. This was run by a real old Berlin landlady (Dani's mother), who everyone called Muttchen. When Muttchen couldn't take it anymore, Dani took over. At some point, due to the general decline in pubs, there was no longer any sales to be made and Dani leased out her pub and it took several operators before the TAJ could finally survive in the long term. Actually surprising, because a restaurant with a great beer garden located directly on the beautiful Schloßstrasse and very close to Charlottenburg Palace shouldn't have a particularly difficult time attracting enough day-trippers and a few regular guests... Now it's apparently working! And now we're finally on to the actual topic: The Taj is a classic Indian restaurant, with very typical dishes, exquisite Indian wine in red and white, delicious draft beer and great lassis. The whole thing is garnished with VERY friendly staff, fast and really good cuisine and very fair prices. All in all, it was always a positive experience for us. We'd love to come back.

Excellent Indian restaurant that avoids any frills. Tidy yet cozy, with a large terrace for warmer days. Very friendly and quick service and extremely delicious food. We recommend the butter chicken. :) There is also a separate lunch menu with cheaper dishes. The desserts are also very special.

The food here was amazing. Probably the best Indian I've found in Berlin so far. We had Duck Vindaloo, paneer Jalfrezi, and a vegetable korma. We also had samosas for a starter and garlic naan with the meal. Everything was delicious the Jalfrezi was the best of the three we ate that day.
