Tahdig in München

It was our 2nd visit and I can't wait to visit them again. The food provides such a flavourful experience which goes beyond the usual for a Persian cuisine in Munich.

Never again will I eat old, salty rice unless it's extremely expensive!

A wonderful experience and great food! The atmosphere outside in summer is like not being in Munich city center at all.

Extremely unprofessional, rude, and arrogant behavior. We had reserved a table three weeks in advance for the Yalda evening. When we arrived, we were given a table next to the restroom. When we inquired, we were told that the rest of the dining room had been fully booked for two months – which was frankly ridiculous. Shortly afterward, we saw that friends and acquaintances of the staff were seated inside without any problem, while other guests had to sit outside. When we brought this up, we were treated extremely rudely. We were literally told, "This is our restaurant; we decide where you sit." Our response was clear: If we are guests, then we should be treated with respect. And if we are paying for our own meals, no one simply decides for us. We left. Zero understanding, zero respect – they couldn't care less. Such behavior is absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant. Never again.

The place is very comfortable, very clean, the service is excellent, the presentation is very elegant, the food is delicious, and it's worth the price. I highly recommend it.

They offer a wide variety of food and drinks, all with top notch quality I highly recommend trying the Tahdig Gheimeh, the traditional Iranian Dizi, and of course, their Kabab Koobideh , all full of authentic flavor The atmosphere and interior design are peaceful and welcoming, perfect for enjoying a relaxing meal.

We were here for Christmas dinner with colleagues. The decor and ambiance are truly phenomenal. Great colors, beautiful pictures, and a cozy atmosphere. The restrooms are also nicely designed and very clean. The service was excellent, with plenty of explanations and recommendations. I opted for three vegan specialties because I was curious about the flavors. Unfortunately, all three dishes tasted predominantly sour due to the limes and lacked depth of flavor. However, my colleagues who ordered meat dishes were all very enthusiastic. The meat skewers are particularly recommended. The flatbread was both fluffy and crispy. The homemade iced tea with ginger and apple tea is also highly recommended. It's just that I made the wrong food choices for myself. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

This was the best iranian food I have had outside of Iran. The decorations and smiling staff made our experience very pleasant. Food was of great quality, stews felt homemade. We really enjoyed the cocktails too. Would definitely recommend.

If you're looking to try something special, I highly recommend Tahdig. I've been there a few times, and the food is absolutely amazing. The ambiance is beautiful and sophisticated, yet not at all stuffy, thanks in no small part to the fantastic team. The service is always polite and friendly, and they patiently answer every question with a smile. A special shout-out goes to Florian, who doesn't just do his job; he lives and breathes it. The owners are also incredibly kind and wonderful people who are always there to make sure everything is perfect. We've had two birthday parties at Tahdig, and each time the food was outstanding, from the appetizers and main courses to the desserts. You leave Munich and feel like you're on vacation. Great food, great restaurant, great service.

We recently had the opportunity to experience Persian cuisine and I must say, it was a very successful one! The very friendly and attentive staff explained the various dishes to us and offered a combination from the extensive menu. This allowed us to enjoy a wide variety of excellent Middle Eastern cuisine. All the dishes we chose were delicious and flavorful. The stylish ambiance and pleasant atmosphere complemented the experience perfectly.

Thadig is a wonderful, upscale Persian restaurant with traditional dishes. The service is incredibly fast, as is the food, and everyone is very attentive—a place to feel comfortable and enjoy yourself. Even at 4 pm on a Saturday afternoon, it was quite busy.

By far the best Iranian food in Munich!

A fantastic restaurant with a unique atmosphere and delicious, authentic, and fresh oriental dishes. The service was very friendly and pleasant, and they explained a lot to us. We found it quite noisy in the back room because it was very crowded, but otherwise everything was great!

An experience well worth having. The flavors and spices of the Orient were superbly seasoned – simply fantastic. We had absolutely no idea what to order, but the service was superb. It was one of the friendliest I've ever encountered in a restaurant. Every dish was explained, suggestions were made, and we were given a list of dishes so we could try more. Incredibly kind. You really feel at ease. If you're looking to try something new, definitely go!

This is a nice Persian restaurant located in Munich. They have a variety of Persian food for all taste. The staff were friendly and courteous. One suggestion, if you are a Persian and you want more rice ask for it.

The advice of the very friendly staff and the opportunity to combine various braised dishes allowed us to experience the breadth of this culinary culture. The restaurant's atmosphere is very relaxing. The food is delicious. The service from the staff is excellent. I really liked the atmosphere. If I have any comments, it would be about the tea. It has a light flavor and doesn't come with any artificial sugar or saffron.

Today I ate at Tahdig and enjoyed the Ash-e Reshteh and Chenjeh. Both dishes were truly delicious, just like homemade, and the quality of the meat was outstanding, tender and full of flavor. What makes the experience even more special is the warm service and the wonderful humanity of Sara, the owner. She treats every guest with genuine kindness and hospitality, which makes you feel more like a family friend than just a customer. Tahdig is not only about excellent food but also about heart.

Clean place Good service Yumi food

It was my second time at Tahdig in Munich, and I’m even more convinced that this restaurant is serving some of the highest quality Persian food around. Authentic flavors, warm staff, and a truly welcoming experience for me and my guest.

Unfortunately, we weren't quite as impressed as the reviews suggest. The Persian Spritz had a strong saffron flavor; I couldn't drink it. We thought the food was solid, although the rice was covered in a bit too much bitter orange peel, giving it a very strong taste (but that's probably a matter of taste). What we weren't happy about was that after a visit to the restaurant, you smell so strongly of food that you can even smell your worn clothes from the laundry basket. Unfortunately, the value for money wasn't right for us, as it was very expensive for what you got. However, the service was extremely friendly and personable. We won't be coming back, though.

I am not really inclined towards heavily meat-centric meals, but my first visit to Tahdig was a revelation. This persian restaurant in Munich completely won me over. The meal started with an absolute highlight; a palette of various dips and fresh bread. For the main, I opted for a kebap dish. Despite my usual preferences, it was wonderfully flavourful and expertly seasoned, not just a simple grilled meat. The only slight drawback is that the experience comes at a premium; the prices are a bit on the higher side.

Tahdig should at least be on the Michelin guide for Munich. The whole experience is more enjoyable than many of the Michelin guide restaurants that I have been to across Europe. Better than other Iranian restaurants in Munich regarding food quality, service, and ambiance. The food has been consistently good, and all of my Iranian friends approve of this place. The interior is quite cozy and the employees are always friendly. Rice dishes come with rice tahdig.

I didn't really take Arab reviews seriously, and I wish I'd learned a lesson from them. The staff were very racist and rude, and the food was stale and not fresh. A bad experience.

It set the tone for the night in such a lovely way. Now, onto the food—which honestly blew me away. This was my very first experience with Persian cuisine, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. Every dish that came to the table had layers of flavor: fragrant spices, beautifully cooked rice, tender meats, and fresh herbs that gave everything such brightness. It was hearty and comforting, yet completely new to me. You know that feeling when you take a bite and you just stop to savor it for a moment? Yeah, that happened a lot. By the end of the evening, I wasn’t just full—I was genuinely happy. It’s rare to walk into a place not knowing what to expect and leave already planning to return, but that’s exactly what happened here. Persian food has definitely won me over, and this spot near Isartor will be my go-to when I’m craving it again.

Truly a great, great experience!!! Super chic restaurant, super friendly staff, and the food is DELICIOUS! All the dishes were unique; I've never eaten anything like it before, no comparison! The prices are also absolutely reasonable, especially for the location. It's best to reserve a table, as the restaurant was packed! There were also lots of Iranians, which again shows the quality. The staff also speaks German and English (and of course Farsi 😊), if that's important :) You definitely have to go back!!!

I usually have excellent experiences at iranian restaurants in Munich and had high expectations for this one - unfortunately, neither the service nor the food were any good. The waiter was rude, which gave a very unfriendly, unwelcoming feeling. I ordered Fesenjan with meatballs, and I could count the number of mini meatballs in one hand. I will not be going here again as neither the atmosphere nor the food are worth it.

The restaurant is located in the beautiful Lehel district, was recommended to me by friends, and is easily accessible by public transport. The interior is very beautiful, decorated in the Tehran style with calligraphy and wall decorations, and the staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. The food is very varied and delicious. The cleanliness of the restaurant is exemplary.

Very friendly welcome and service, but unfortunately, the food wasn't good. The starter, a handful of herbs with a few cubes of feta cheese and walnuts (9.50), was disappointing. Then I tried some braised dishes. Everything was described very interestingly, but it looked awful – a dark brown mush. The meat tasted like meat that had been simmered for hours in a soup, and the various dishes tasted more or less the same. Some were a bit sour, others sweet, but there was no taste of the fine herbs or spices. The prices are absolutely unjustified. I won't be back!

I've been coming here every year for my birthday for the past five years :) The atmosphere is fantastic, and the service is always perfect. The gentleman with the tattoo is especially informative about the food, and I'm always surprised by his hospitality.

First time trying Persian food, and wow — totally impressed! We tried 8 different dishes (4 starters and 4 stews), and every single one had its own unique flavor. The waiter was super helpful and gave great recommendations. The service was smooth, and the atmosphere felt really welcoming. Easily one of my top 10 spots in Munich — great quality and totally worth the price! Definitely will visit again for their slow cooked meat that they do only on weekends!

We visited Tahdig Restaurant last night, and it was the best Iranian food I’ve had outside of Iran. The décor beautifully reflected Iranian culture, and the food was outstanding—especially the juicy koobideh, flavorful vegan ghelyeh bamieh, and the unforgettable gheymeh with tahdig. Service was professional and helpful, with great suggestions and no pressure to over-order. Our server spoke Persian, English, and German, which was a big plus. The only small suggestion would be to allow a bit more time before clearing dishes. Prices are about 20% above average, but well worth it for the quality and experience. Highly recommended!

We were in Munich one night and decided to have Persian food. This was one of the most delicious Persian foods we have ever had and we live in California where there are a lot of Persian restaurants. The place was also super cute and the service was top notch. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Our absolute favorite restaurant. Persian cuisine isn't spicy, but it does incorporate many other spices. I can recommend the mixed appetizer platter for two people or the tahdig with gheimeh. For the main course, choose either a colorful mix of braised dishes or something from the grill.

We ordered the Fesenjan and Jahaver Polo. The Fesenjan was extremely thick, earthy consistency with the driest meatballs inside, utter lack of flavor. Jahaver’s rice was topped with sliced almonds you find at the bakery section at the supermarket. The service was kind and understanding, they agreed to replace the Fesenjan free of charge. The meat they serve is very dry, overcooked or possibly frozen. The food was quite a letdown considering the lovely athmosphere and friendly service, especially for this price range. Not recommended.

We went to Tahdig for a team dinner, on recommendation of a friend who was also so super kind to offer for everyone. He explained that it's a Persian tradition or have the host choose the food for the entire table. We all were happy to trust him and it was a great choice! We were offered a large variety of sauces to have as starters together with rice. The rice in particular was fabulous and I had multiple helpings. We then tried multiple types of meat, all one better than the other. Finally an ice-cream-like dessert that had a particularly interesting texture and was very tasty. Possibly the best dinner I had in Munich in a week.
