Eating out is expensive. Anyone who complains has no idea how costs are made up. The only authentic Mexican restaurant I have visited in Germany. I lived in Mexico.

One of cologne gems! Love coming here, everything is always delicious. Every time a friend comes to visit, me and my boyfriend always invite them to dine here and is a 10/10 success. Can’t recommend enough ♥️

So far the most authentic Mexican tacos I have eaten in Germany. The “Birria Tacos” are highly recommended. Service was quick and friendly. Atmosphere is great. The only thing you can complain about is the price. 15€ for 4 tacos is hard to understand.

The food is authentic Mexican (although quite salty), the atmosphere is great and the price-performance ratio is fair. There was a stupid misunderstanding when we ordered. We ordered the "Tabla de Carne" menu twice. The waiter then asked “two times?”. Since it was supposed to be for two people, we didn't think anything of it and said "yes, twice". When the food came, we were surprised at the amount, but started eating straight away. After a few minutes it occurred to us that something must be wrong here. We asked accordingly and – yes – we got two tabla de carne for two people, so four portions. Of course, that was clearly too much. We were secretly preparing ourselves for a stupid discussion about who has to pay for the food now. But the boss was extremely nice and said straight away that we didn't have to pay. Of course we were happy about that, especially since we were a bit uncomfortable that we didn't shift gears faster. Thanks and sorry again on this way!

A bit uncomfortable inside. You can also sit outside with a view of the Rhine, which is nice. The food is in my opinion after not really Mexican. It lacks a bit of 'oomph' in terms of taste. Unfortunately there is also not enough selection of typical Mexican dishes. Service was very nice, but the waiting time for the food was long.

Best authentic tacos I have seen in Germany. Amazing toppings, actually hot salsas if you so choose. They even have horchata! Atmosphere is great both inside and outside.

I love it! I go here to feel a bit of a piece of home when possible. I don’t go as often as I used to (used to go every week) because unfortunately their price increase seems unreasonable to me and as a real latina I can tell their queso quality has changed and some of their ingredients and portions and taste have changed. They used to give you nachos with real fresh cheese and now they use the generic one. The taste was impeccable. The portions are unfortunately way too small for their price increase. I love it because it is authentic but I’ve started to make my own mexican tortillas and food at home because paying so much for literally just eating 4 small tacos and a drink seems like a Mexican crime. I was not happy about it with it but kept going until I realized their quality has changed. I got my food very cold and not tasty at all last time so now I’ve switched to other Mexican restaurants in Köln. I recommend it to so many people as well and everyone came with the same feedback: delicious but overpriced and their taste and quality has dropped. Hopefully they get better!

If you want to take a short culinary trip to Mexico, this is the right place! Yes, admittedly, the portions are really manageable, but the authentic taste is outstanding. So if you like quality instead of quantity, you've come to the right place. The atmosphere is super cool and the service is very, very friendly. We had a wonderful evening and super delicious food. Nice atmosphere but nothing more. So far I've always had to ask for the menu, something served or cutlery - that's annoying and it's not my job. The portions are very small and the food itself is okay, but not special. The operation is neutral. Neither unfriendly nor particularly nice. My experience or review is based on 3 visits.

I celebrate my Birthday there and the service was great. The food delicious, the closest to the Mexican version of tacos you can get in Cologne for sure.

Great place by the river, great atmosphere and some quality food. Fresh tacos - great portions and all tasted superb.

Been here a few times now, never disappointed.

We ordered a meat platter, highly recommended for people who are hungrier. It comes varied, but spicy for people who may not like spicy food to keep that in mind. The best of the dish were the birrias and the quesadillas al pastor. A little star if we had to take away from the pastor's because they didn't convince us much. The beautiful atmosphere, not so Mexican but the spectacular views, well away from the city but for that the unique landscape. Service is friendly, almost everyone knows Spanish and the owner is also very open to the public.

One of my best Mexican restaurants in Cologne... Unfortunately, the waitress meant a lot to us and was unfriendly the whole time. We asked for music because the place was completely silent and without any atmosphere and only gave the excuse of "rain", then we easily put on some music with our cell phone and the waitress angrily told us "turn off the music" for no reason , while the other employees accepted music with cell phones. Afterwards the waitress wanted to leave us as quickly as possible. Other employees were nice, but the waitress was totally unprofessional and disappointed. 👎🏽

Usually I have a great time eating there but this time the service wasn’t good. All the waiters who speak Spanish are very nice, but on Sunday the only waitress who did not speak Spanish was very rude. I have been a waitress and it was noticeable that she made minimal effort to make us feel welcome. She made us feel very uncomfortable and we preferred to leave early. Next time only if the guy from Ciudad Juarez is in charge :)

The food is something different, we enjoyed it very well, even if it was quite spicy. Unfortunately, the seating options don't invite you to linger for long and are too uncomfortable for me.

Brutally far away from authentic Mexican cuisine.. And what kind of open-mind trend is this to call guests on first-name terms, hand them plates, and not offer a glass with a drink? If we were buddies it would be cool, but then I wouldn't have to pay €4 for a watery horchata (0.2l!). A pity

A high-quality Greek restaurant in a modern atmosphere. Top! And: with first-class service - that you can still experience that today - wonderful. It's a little outside the city - but the journey is worth it.

A restaurant right on the Rhine, the ambience can be very nice here. The service is friendly and quick. I don't know whether the food is authentic - I don't know much about Mexican food. However, the portions are rather smaller (taccos, etc.) - there is no real filling side dish (maybe that's just how it is). The food we had was very tasty and worth visiting again. The price is okay considering the location. Good location, good service, good food - for those who aren't too hungry. (You can quench your thirst with delicious pilsner from a local brewery)

I absolutely love the place. Great (I’d say exceptional, especially for Germany) Micheladas, amazing tacos, delicious desserts (we tried flan) and spectacular cocktails. The service is top 🔝 It’s very spacious with great outdoor area. Must try for all Mexican food lovers like myself 🇲🇽

What a good first experience visiting Los Carnales! The place is very spacious, with a terrace overlooking the river with tables of all kinds. The interior is also very cozy. The menu is extensive with options for all tastes, with tacos as the protagonists. The portions are not bad, the filling is quite generous. We were missing some sauce, I think we should have asked for it expressly :) The drinks are not far behind, the micheladas are some of the best I have ever tried and the cocktails were all excellent. The service was super friendly at all times!

The service is amazing, loved that almost everyone there speaks Spanish ♡ the decoration is also super beautiful. I almost cried eating the tacos haha they are the best tacos I've tried in Europe and I really try to go to all Mexican and tex mex places as I can when traveling... As a Mexican I can highly-recommend them. 😁

Very good, authentic Mexican food 😊 Staff super nice and attentive. After you order your meal, you get free portions of tortillas with various dips, including guacamole. Worth a recommendation!

The food was very tasty but a bit too expensive in my opinion. The ambience was nice but very loud inside. A Kölsch for €3.80 is simply too much. Still tastier food and nice service.

Edit: unfortunately there are now extremely few sauces available. Prices are still very high. Tabla del Carne has become worse: e.g. Now real ceviche only contains the mushroom version. Good food, free sauces and nice but unfortunately not particularly attentive service. The regular portions are a bit too small for the price. Table del Carne is a little more expensive but also something for those who are very hungry.

A place to eat well, speak Spanish and enjoy a spectacular atmosphere! Plenty of space to eat with family and friends. The attention is excellent! Super recommended to have a different and fun time! The meat board for two people is well resolved, my husband and I were very satisfied…

Very nice furnishings and cool style, but unfortunately it's a bit uncomfortable to sit if you're there for a long time. The food is really Mexican and not like all the other Germanized “Tex/Mex shops” that you otherwise know in Germany. The quality of the ingredients is great, and everything seems freshly prepared and beautifully presented, both well seasoned. Always a pleasure - the best Mexican restaurant I have visited in Germany so far 👌

It was quite okay. First of all, the view was of course outstanding, and the seats outside look really cool too. However, many seats only consist of beer benches and beer tables; when we were there, there were at least no cushions etc. on the seats (rather less recommended for people who cannot sit for long periods of time). The food itself was delicious, but unfortunately no one was nearly full from the portions. The prices were rather higher, at 11-14 euros for 4 tacos (see photos). The service was on point and very friendly!

Okay for a drink, but the food is too expensive. We had, among other things, the tacos camote with esquites. The portion size was disappointing, especially the Esquites corn salad for almost 7 euros was a joke. The Taxos were fatty and only lukewarm, which is probably why many people like it so much. Water is far too expensive, 0.75l for just under 7 euros. There is only one non-alcoholic beer, which is also imported. The Imapnema was good and acceptable in terms of price-performance ratio.

At first when I saw the restaurant (the decoration, it's style) I thought it would be a Tex-Mex restaurant but no. Very good Restaurant, the beans are very delicious, their sauces range from the least spicy to abanero, the staff is very friendly, the tacos are tastier and closer to Mexican food, only the steak tacos are not as many but the al pastor ones and the birria ones were my favorites

Very authentic, delicious food and drinks!

The service was outstanding. Our server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made excellent recommendations and ensured we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The ambiance was warm and inviting, It was very busy during dinner hours, so it's better to book a table in advance. The tacos I took were good. The chocolate mousse was weird, the mousse with chili note itself was fine, but on the top of it were chunks of nachos and I think they were additionally backed, so they were very hard and tasteless. So it was a very bad combination. Homemade lemonade was just water with a drizzle of lemon juice. Overall experience is positive of course. It's a great place to meet with friends or for a date too.

The service was disastrous, particularly a waitress with glasses and dark, curly hair. I have never experienced such unprofessional and rude service before. For this reason I will definitely not visit the restaurant again.

Great new pop up place - good Mexican food

Great location, comfortable seating outside, very loud music, but yesterday we stood for a long time at the sign indicating where to wait and were overlooked or ignored by several employees. Unfriendly and unhelpful response when I asked a waitress for help as to whether we were even right about ordering take-out. Waiting is not a problem, but getting no information or being able to assess whether you are waiting for free is difficult.

Unfortunately, the meat was dry, both in the Conchinita Pibil and in the al Pastor Tacos. Overall there was a lack of spice.

The service was friendly, but a lot of mistakes, I didn't have forks, just knives, 1 napkin... the food arrived in 5 minutes, it seemed like it was already ready, the tacos were super dry, the filling, which is the meat and chicken, very very dry and the worst of all is that they forgot to give us sauces! We ordered a board for 2 people so we had several tacos to eat and we had to do it without sauces.. :/ the quesadilla was really good and the red wine was also summer, but a very disappointing experience I must admit since I had very good recommendations for good fellow chefs about this place but as a cook I would not go to eat there twice

Ambiance is definitely great in summer. Otherwise it's very loud. Personally, the food wasn't seasoned enough for me. A nice gentleman who served saved it with a selection of salsa. But a birria style should be braised with lots of chili and spices. At least that's how I know it.

The location with the view of the Rhine is fantastic, but the service was totally chaotic. We waited forever to be able to order, then after a very long time the food came mostly wrong, then waited again. We wondered why at least the nachos with the guacamole couldn't come quicker. Beforehand, we were offered drinks several times that belonged at other tables. Two cocktails ordered at the same time arrived with a delay, again a longer wait for the second cocktail. I found the food to be rather average, I've had much tastier Mexican food, but it was really expensive. It's a shame, it really didn't convince me!

The menu is manageable, but the dishes don't sound like run-of-the-mill Mexican dishes. There is almost always a vegetarian or vegan alternative. Unfortunately, the portions are quite small and the taste doesn't live up to what the name and price promise. The service is very friendly but unfortunately you wait a long time for drinks or even to be able to place an order. You can sit outside or inside. You can go, but you don't have to...

Coming from Mexico and finding this beautiful place on the banks of the Rhine River in Köln has been a nice experience, it is a restaurant full of tradition, a very colorful decoration frames it, it made me remember our magical Day of the Dead celebration!

A great spot with a nice view to the river from the large patio. Perfect stop on a riverside walk or bike ride. The vegetarian (soy based) tacos are very delicious- it's rare to find a variety of tasty vegan/vegetarian tacos choices in Cologne!

When we visited Cologne, we definitely wanted to have Mexican food again. We have already reserved a table for two people in advance. We arrived and were shown to our table by a very friendly waitress. After we ordered something to drink and it came quite quickly, we were allowed to place our order. For a few things I had to ask the waitress and we were recommended appropriate side dishes (he was Mexican himself and also super friendly and accommodating). As you can see, we ordered plenty and found the food extremely tasty. The price was 60 euros for both people with a drink each, which was absolutely OK. When we are back in Cologne, we will definitely come back👍

The tacos and wine were delicious. But the sweet potatoes weren't that good. The selection isn't that big. So not a lot of choice for vegetarians and vegans. The portions are small and prices are expensive. But you can sit on the Rhine.

The tacos on offer are really tasty, although not exactly cheap. There is still some potential, especially with the El Pastor Tacos. In my opinion, the tortillas could also be offered with an authentic Quaeso sauce, but in my opinion it shouldn't be so complicated, but the guacamole was also delicious. There is a really pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant, which also has some Spanish-speaking employees. The guests are mainly young, hip people from Cologne, the surrounding area and probably some Spanish-speaking countries around the world. Basically, if you're looking for delicious Mexican food, you won't go home disappointed.
