This has nothing to do with Mexican food. The "salad" was an outrage, as were the very small portions of food, especially for the price.

I like it there. The food is delicious and the flavors always appeal to me. It would be nice to have alternatives to cow's milk for a vegan coffee experience, for example, barista-style oat milk.

Food was good and drinks as well. But No Mexican or Latin music rather weird radio music, service did not know basic things about cocktails.. The vibe was a bit unlovely. Maybe some Mexican garlands would be nice! You can go but it's not a must

I’ve been to this Mexican restaurant a couple of times now, and every visit has been amazing. Today especially, the staff were incredibly kind, and the food was outstanding, honestly one of the best Mexican places I’ve ever tried, if not the best. The staff are very welcoming. I don’t speak German because I’m here on Erasmus, but communicating in English was no problem at all; they were patient, friendly, and genuinely helpful. The menu is very wide, with plenty of options. I’ve tried several dishes and every single one was delicious, full of flavour, satisfying but never heavy. The place itself is beautiful. When we were leaving, my friend and I took some coasters because they were so nice, and one of the waiters noticed and brought us extra stickers with their amazing graphics. Such a thoughtful gesture, and it really made me feel at home, something that can be rare when you’re a foreigner. I absolutely recommend this place. Right now, it’s my favourite spot in Cologne and the restaurant I know I’ll keep coming back to.

It was way too expensive. The nacho platter for over €20 is completely overpriced. It's meant to be shared, but it's only enough for two people at most; otherwise, it's far too small. When we ordered, no one asked if we wanted vegan, vegetarian, or meat, or how spicy we wanted it, even though the options were listed on the menu. We had to ask for another drink ourselves at the bar, even though we were the only customers. The music was incredibly loud. Since we were the only customers with four staff members, they could have at least asked if we wanted another drink or if the music was too quiet. Anyway, we finished eating and then had to sort out the bill ourselves again because no one came to take it, even though we were sitting in front of our empty dishes. We remained polite and even went to the bar to say goodbye, but in the end, they didn't even say goodbye, even though we had left a far too generous tip for such poor service. The food was okay, but for that price and service, we won't be coming back. Cantina Maexicana in Sülz is many times better. We paid over 80 euros for a shared appetizer, a main course, a side dish, and two drinks per person. And not even cocktails, just regular soda.

The place was nice to look at, but a bit too loud. The service had trouble taking orders correctly; we weren't really paid attention. The food had hardly any flavor; the various dips for the nachos were a complete disappointment.

Delicious food and excellent service. Everyone was very attentive, and the restaurant had beautiful decorations with lots of thoughtful details. We were there for the Dia de los Muertos event, and it was a fantastic evening with great entertainment. The mariachi band was amazing, and we had a wonderful time! Really tasty burritos, and a simple but delicious appetizer (chips and five salsas) – excellent. Since we really enjoyed the chipotle salsa, we took some home with us. Simply wonderful.

Very nice food, even better ambiance than in the original next to. Zülpicher Platz because the place is bigger and feels more welcoming. It's still a bit pricey, but very tasty and I always have a good time there!

We were there for my daughter's birthday. The place was packed. There were only two people serving. The food was terrible, served like dog food. No one ate it. It didn't taste good. NEVER AGAIN!

This place serves the best Mexican food in the city. The sauces and burritos are just perfect with lots of vegan and vegetarian variety. We make sure to satisfy our Mexican hunger here. Its like our monthly ritual.

There were eight of us, and the food and service were very good. The prices were very high, though; a portion of nachos as an appetizer cost €19.90—not a huge portion! The burritos and quesadillas were very tasty, but there was no side salad or any dips like salsa, sour cream, or guavamole! The taste was authentically Mexican, but we wouldn't go back because of the high prices.

Terrible service. Yes, we knew the place was fully booked and we didn't have a reservation, but at least they could try to find a solution. Instead, they just said they were full, and she left immediately. Hello? Is there seating outside? Do you have blankets or patio heaters, or could you perhaps arrange something in a corner somewhere? I can't comment on the quality of the food, as we didn't get any. The atmosphere, at least, seemed nice.

As always at the Casitas, the food and cocktails were delicious, and the service was attentive and friendly. The ambiance simply puts you in a good mood. We'd love to go back!

Great Mexican restaurant; you rarely find such quality in Germany. The wait staff can pronounce the menu perfectly in Spanish and are very friendly. The bar staff is Spanish-speaking. We found this very authentic. Our evening was wonderful, and after a few shots of tequila, we also got a Mexican shot on the house.

Hello everyone, the food was unfortunately a solid 6! The chicken in the burrito was unfortunately raw and unseasoned. When I asked the waitress about the sauce in the burrito, she told me she didn't know what was in it and that you couldn't put anything down. When I asked her to please ask the chef, she unfortunately reacted extremely annoyed, went to ask, and came up with a substance that definitely doesn't exist. I don't think she even asked, but then you could put the sauce down but it costs €5 extra. I ordered anyway and was incredibly disappointed! When we paid and didn't give her a tip, our waitress became even more unfriendly! When I tried to explain to her why she wasn't getting a tip from us and why the food was, to be honest, an insult to Mexican cuisine, she banned us from the premises! Worst restaurant in the whole of Cologne! Never again!

Had a delicious meal there as part of a tour

AMAZING OH MY GOD TRUE MEXICAN FOOD

The food is very good, and the service is also good, but unfortunately, it's very loud. Furthermore, the room is very large, and the brightly colored metal chairs aren't exactly comfortable.

The flavor was excellent. We ordered quesadillas with meat, but the portion consisted of only one. The tacos also tasted good, and we ordered a quesadilla for my daughter. Unfortunately, I only realized later that I was charged for an extra margarita, even though I only ordered one. Overall, it was good, but we found the waitress's behavior a bit rude, as she practically threw the plates on the table.

The food tastes very good. However, the stated portion is smaller. The stated portion is about 25 cm, but we only got 17-18 cm. As a result, the feeling of fullness isn't completely satisfied. Nevertheless, the shop is really nicely designed and the staff is friendly. In summary, if you're a little hungry, this is the place for you. If you want more, pay more or eat somewhere else.

Unfortunately, my visit to this restaurant was very disappointing. The service was unfriendly and unprofessional. I didn't feel welcome. The food was also tasteless and of poor quality. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Unfortunately, disappointing – I wouldn't recommend it. I've rarely had such bad Mexican food. The burrito was carelessly placed on the plate, poorly folded, and the contents were disappointing – especially considering the price. There was nothing else on the plate other than the burrito. For the money, I would have expected much more, both in terms of taste and presentation. Overall, it seemed unambitious and unprofessional. It's a shame, but I won't go back and can't recommend the place.

This is the first Mexican restaurant that I have found in Cologne that serves authentic Mexican food! It’s so good! I’m from Texas and I miss Mexican food / Tex-mex so much. This makes me feel like I’m back home. 🥺

We were walking past Chlodwigplatz and then, on a whim, stumbled into Casita Mexicana. A very pretty, modern-rustic restaurant, busy, and everyone in a good mood, that's what won us over. We received a very friendly welcome and helpful advice. We ordered burritos with two different fillings, both extremely delicious and, what we particularly liked, not in the usual Tex-Mex style. We were very satisfied and would gladly come back next time.

We spontaneously went to Cologne last Sunday, just to enjoy something nice in the warm weather. We first went to the "km 689 Cologne Beach Club" (there's a separate review for that), and then we got hungry. Since we hadn't had Mexican food in a while, we decided to go there. After a long search for a parking space (I'm not including this in my review; everyone knows what to expect when they think they can find a parking space in downtown Cologne), we finally went into the place. Nice atmosphere, just as you'd imagine. I ordered the tortillas, and what can I say... amazing! My friend had a cheese platter. It was roughly €14-16 plus a drink. So why not give it a full star rating? I know this will seem petty to many, but I don't think it's anything special. First, let's start with a little something. Regardless of whether it's German, Greek, or in this case Mexican, I've always known that you'd get a small bowl of homemade nachos, or some bread, tzatziki at the Greek restaurant, etc. When did this small gesture disappear? I know everything's more expensive, but it has to be included for the guest, who spends a lot of money these days. My conclusion... Great place, great food with one minor drawback that applies to all restaurants these days.

The food there is good and delicious. You should avoid ordering. I've ordered pickup here twice, and there were problems each time. So it wasn't the delivery service's fault. The burritos weren't rolled properly and fell apart. A restaurant probably wouldn't serve something like that to a customer. Why they have an online ordering function that the staff doesn't use is beyond me. Online orders aren't accepted because no one responds. If you call, someone picks up immediately, and you can order.

Everything is very expensive, they treat it as gourmet, and the portions are small. Mexican street food isn't expensive; you can't charge that kind of price for tacos or burritos. There is Mexican food that would be worth that price, but not tacos or burritos.

It's small, but highly recommended. The staff is friendly, and the food is delicious. We've always sat outside. You sit on Severinstraße, and the area is separated from the street by Plexiglas. Tables are arranged next to each other, and of course, you can hear everything from the next table, whether you want to or not. We'll go back when we're craving Spanish food.

How I Ate a Burrito in Disappointment and Died Inside The decor is really great. Colorful, you walk in and think: Real, delicious Mexican food awaits me here. Think again. I ordered a burrito and got: a flour tortilla filled with... guacamole. Just guacamole. No rice, no beans, no vegetables, no cheese, no meat. Just a mushy, green something wrapped in a tortilla. That wasn't a burrito. That was a gag that was just slapped onto the plate. No side dishes. No rice anywhere. It felt like a Mexican-themed party where the food just wasn't invited.

This place used to be great, but it has changed a lot. When it’s full, it gets extremely loud and uncomfortably warm. There are a few fans around, but they’re covered in dust — clearly haven’t been cleaned in years!! The food is just okay. The meat was dry and lacked flavor, although the guacamole was fresh and delish! Prices are too high for what you get. Dishes used to be well presented, salad aside or nicely decorated but now they look rushed and uninspired. Margaritas are mostly ice — you pay nearly €10 for a very small glass that’s filled more with cubes than actual drink. The staff isn’t the most attentive or friendly. Instead of a warm “Hello, welcome!”, you’re immediately hit with a blunt “What can I get you?” Overall, it’s disappointing to see how much the quality has declined.

Ordered takeaway here: 2 burritos and quesadillas. The burritos were really bad. The chicken was neither seasoned nor salted, nor was the iceberg lettuce. There were only a few small pieces of chicken in the burritos, and they weren't even rolled up properly, just slapped carelessly into the shell. There was so little filling that everything fell apart. It's just outrageous to charge money for something like that.
