After having enjoyed going to Austernmeyer for years, I was very disappointed yesterday. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were neither greeted nor acknowledged in any way, even though two older employees were standing at the entrance. When I asked if they belonged to the restaurant and this was answered in the affirmative, we were shown to the reserved table. My favorite and that of my wife was always the 7 oyster variation. Until yesterday. The large oysters were not au gratin, but baked with so much cheese that you couldn't even tell what they were. When you chewed, all you had in your mouth was cheese and the taste of the oysters didn't come through at all. That was nothing at all. Overall, the service was very inattentive and we had to wait until we could speak to someone so that we could get something to drink. Since we weren't asked if we wanted dessert or an espresso, as was usually the case, we left the restaurant very disappointed and will stay away for now. It's a shame, but I'm not angry with my money either.

Unfortunately, on the second visit the service around the reservation was poor. Quote: the first reservation was for 7 p.m. and not for 8 p.m. (despite rebooking by phone 5 hours in advance). So it was impossible to get a suitable place, even though various places were free (quote: these are already reserved - ultimately no guests came) This is actually a no go

Attentive service, fresh oysters and mussels. We enjoyed everything very much. Watt blondes is a delicious beer! We did it again March 2023...It was so beautiful and delicious 😋.2024 It was very tasty and special again.

Unfortunately, the desired meals from the menu and from the daily menu were not available. This would involve failing to bring the food to those present at the table at the same time, so that someone would always have to wait several minutes without eating while everyone else could already eat.

We were able to get a beach chair outside and had a cozy spot. Oysters were delicious. We ate the wild catch. It's also great that you can see the pools in which the oysters stay after they've been caught.

Wow the food here is really superb. We had lots of Oysters but the kids also had spaghetti in tomato sauce and spaghetti aglio olio which was absolutely the best ever with bits of Samphire in it. Also when I wandered into the restaurant (we were sitting on the terrace) with my kids a bloke maybe the manager explained to my kids so much about lobsters and took one out of the tank and showed it to us. So interesting.

Very friendly, very tasty and there is also a lot to discover in the in-house oyster museum - with free entry. 👍

Small but fine restaurant with all kinds of oysters on the menu. We were surprised by the smoked oysters and those baked with Pernod. If you don't like eating oysters, you can choose from baked scallops, lobster or spaghetti dishes in several variations with and without seafood.

Only oysters and mussels are recommended. The lobster was smothered in cheese. The side dish was missing from the meat dish. The spaghetti was unsalted and overcooked. Too bad...

We've eaten there several times over the past few years, always at lunchtime. Food and service first class. Yesterday we had dinner for the first time: service was poor (refers to middle-aged men) - neither said good evening nor asked how we liked the food. After the main course we were exhausted. The 7 oysters were also gratinated with way too much cheese - maybe a new chef!? All in all it was a bad evening, especially on my birthday. Too bad.

The food was good so far, the oysters were very tasty and highly recommended. Unfortunately I found the service to be poor. People were friendly, but very passive and almost invisible. No one asked if it tasted good; no one asked if we wanted dessert; We also had to point out the lack of drinking ourselves. Keller kept walking past us. Rarely experienced such poor service.

This restaurant is highly recommended. We have been spending our holidays on Sylt for more than 15 years and a visit to this restaurant is a must. The food was A1, we had the Sylter Royal oysters as a starter, the Pfanne Royal as the main course and espresso with homemade pralines as dessert... everything was very tasty. The service is always very friendly and accommodating. When we said goodbye, we were even allowed to take the oysters with us for decoration reasons... Price-performance is also great for Sylt, keep it up! :-)

The food was good and the blueberry pancake rounded off the meal...

What a disappointment. The restaurant is empty and we are seated in the entrance hallway, despite having a reservation. Map very small. Then we are on first name terms and told my wife, table grill, “you just get a grill and you have to make it yourself, it takes a long time, you have to order a lot to get full” What then ?? Pan-fried dish “everyone takes it” Then we left. Oysters are available all over the island. You don't need a waiter like that. Then you should simply take the dish off the menu. For 50, - not filling and possibly tough because pulpo wasn't pre-cooked, who needs that.

As described on the HP, we were not judged by our outfit and were treated very friendly. They were the first oysters in our lives. It's great that you can also enjoy them cooked. A very positive experience!

Excellent restaurant, where one can have Oysters as well as other tasty seafood in. A stylish atmosphere and served by professional staff. One drawback was that they charge for Parmesan cheese with the pasta dishes - but then give you the most basic supermarket Parmesan instead of something that would match the expectation of putting a price on something. No minus point, since the waiter removed it from the bill without hesitation.

Amazing seafood and wine in a beautiful environment inside the building. Oysters available in every style you wish to have them...raw, boiled or grilled. Amazing...

Service way too slow. The waiters seemed absolutely listless. Oysters and spaghetti tasted good, but unfortunately the chef broke the spaghetti before cooking, as one does for children. Unfortunately it was not possible to wind it onto the fork. Eating wasn't much fun.

A must on Sylt. Very great atmosphere, very friendly and great food. Never a failure, the high standards have been maintained here for years. This year we also treated ourselves to a tour with Mr. Wieden into the mudflats to learn something about oysters. The motley group, I think I speak for everyone, you can only have fun with Mr. Wieden. Learned a lot, seen a lot and rarely laughed so much. TOP!!!! 100% Sylt recommendation. THANKS

As great as the oysters were, the service and the handling of our complaint were all the more sobering! When we asked whether we were at least full, we had difficulty coming up with an answer. It's a shame, you kind of expected a little more!

Very nice, quite large, new restaurant. The oysters (in different variations) are fresh and delicious, and the other dishes are also recommended (e.g. spaghetti with lobster sauce). Good wine selection, friendly service. After the first lunch snack, we made another reservation for the final evening of the holiday.

Some of the few real Sylt specialties, beautifully presented in a relaxed atmosphere. From the Sylter Royal to huge wild ones to cleverly prepared oyster creations. But also lobster, seafood platters, mussels, etc. Accompanied by a fresh white wine either outside in one of the beach chairs or inside at small or large tables.

We were here twice during our far too short vacation. The food is very fine and a great selection. The wine list is also really good. It is very cozy and really special because of the oyster farming next door. What is really outstanding is the hospitality of the people. We just felt completely comfortable. See you soon I hope.

First-class and personal service from Christian, who took the time to show us with wit and humor how to really open, eat and enjoy oysters. After so many years of enjoying oysters, we had actually learned something new. Small wish... a more neutral bread than the olive and brown bread would be great with the mussels... they are not so suitable for dipping the delicious broth.

Lecker-lecker Austern und Hummer! Jedoch gerne (wieder) in einem Gastgeberumfeld und nicht in einem Ach-sind-da-noch-Gäste-da-Ambiente. Schade für die Qualität der makellosen Mahlzeiten. Preis/Dienstleistung war in den vergangenen Jahren deutlich besser. Wake-up -Call ausreichend?

Unfortunately, a grab in the toilet – in the truest sense of the word. The atmosphere is nice, nice ambience. The waiters were reserved but friendly. We ordered some oysters. To be honest, I would have expected a little more sophistication in terms of taste from a restaurant that specializes in this dish. The taste of the vinaigrettes completely overpowered the taste of the oysters. Which unfortunately also meant that taste, the human alarm system for spoiled food, was switched off. The result: fish poisoning, which became noticeable a few hours later. Something I didn't expect from a place in this price category.

Oysters directly from our own production! We really liked the combination of a restaurant with production and a small museum about the history of oyster farming on Sylt. The prices are really ridiculously high! But the elegant ambience and the quality of the food convinced us.

Very friendly and quick service. The oysters: great! Conclusion: gladly 5 stars plus. We will be back! One week later: We had baked oysters in Pernod butter and mussels in a herb broth. All very tasty; no complaints. Service first class again. Two months later: another visit to Biikewoche. Everything remains excellent.

Very wonderful location, with a large fireplace and a view of the oyster basins next to the building, the museum. Somehow a large barn with high quality interior very suitable for small and large groups. There is a fantastic, huge table in the middle of the room perfect for social evenings .

Heute mal wieder bei Dittmeyer Austern gegessen. Wie jedes Jahr eine Wucht an Geschmack und Service.

Tolles Austernangebot in schönem Umfeld und Ambiente. Es gibt Austern klassisch oder auch diverse Varianten überbacken. Für die nicht Austern Freunde gibt es jedoch auch alternative Angebote. Alles nicht ganz billig, aber dennoch auf jeden Fall lohnenswert wer die leckeren Sylter Royal genießen möchte.

Super oister, seafood, service and atmosphere. Worth a detour everytime. The pasta vongole is recommendable.

Vor dem Essen hatten wir eine Führung durch den Betrieb. Alle waren begeistert, so spannendes rund um die Austernzucht zu hören. Das Essen war super lecker, der Service großartig.

Oysters 🦪 at 4€ …. great and cosy atmosphere

Frische, leckere Austern, gute Vinaigrette dazu, das alles draußen im Strandkorb, super. Genauso gut sitzt es sich bei schlechtem Wetter im Restaurant, fast direkt neben dem Austern Tanks, in denen die Austern im Winter wohnen. Ein Shop und Museum sind im Aufbau. Für Gruppen werden auch Führungen durch die Produktion gemachten, inkl. Verkostung frischer Austern. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Tolles Essen, super Weinauswahl und sehr netter Service. Jederzeit wieder.

Ein sehr edles Restaurant in List. Das Lokal ist mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Der Service ist freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir hatten Variationen von der Auster und Muscheln in Weißwein Chili Sud. Einfach nur köstlich. Natürlich sind die Preise höher als in anderen Lokalen, aber es war jeden Euro wert.

Wer Austern mag, ist hier genau richtig !

Wir kommen immer wieder gerne hier hin und das nicht nur weil wir Austern lieben. Der Service ist ebenfalls super und auch andere Speisen verleiten zum Schwärmen.

Wir waren bereits oft im Sylter royal und immer zufrieden mit dem Service und der Qualität der Austern. Mittlerweile merkt mal leider auch hier, dass Fachpersonal fehlt. Der Wein wurde erst falsch gebracht (was passieren kann), dann wurden die Gläser (wir hatten eine Flasche bestellt) deutlich über 0,2 l voll gegossen, was eher an Gosch oder rustikale Kneipe erinnerte als an ein Austern essen in höherwertigem Ambiente. Es brauchte mehrere Anläufe bis uns das Brot zu den Austern gebracht wurde und die Bedienung machte nicht den Eindruck, als ob sie wirklich versteht, was wir wollten. Da brachte es leider auch wenig, dass die Austern gut wie immer schmeckten. Deshalb, liebes Team vom Sylter royal, kümmert euch um Fachpersonal. Nur so sind Preise und Anspruch wirklich gerechtfertigt und würden zum Wiederkommen einladen.

Sehr schönes Restaurant, in der Tat. Alles passt, nette Bedienung, Austern und Hummer sehr gut, Ambiente Top! Wir kommen wieder!

Wir wurden von einem mißgelaunten Ober bedient. Das genaue Gegenteil davon war ein junger Mann der die Getränke serviert hat, nett und sehr freundlich. Die Qualität der überbackenen Austern ließ sehr zu wünschen übrig. Bisher ist mir das in diesem Haus noch nie passiert. Wir haben übrigens in einem Strandkorb gesessen.

Hervorragendes Essen, freundliches, edles, aber auch unkompliziertes Ambiente im Restaurant. Der perfekte Ort für besondere Anlässe und wenn man es sich gutgehen lassen möchte. Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis absolut angemessen.

Alles um und mit Austern... echt gut... vor allem die überbackenen Varianten kann ich empfehlen.

Tolles Restaurant, super Bedienung, leider sind Austern nichts für mich

Ein mit Geschmack eingerichtetes Restaurant. Tolle Austernkreationen, unser Favorit ist die "7 Variationen" Platte. Netter, aufmerksamer Service. Ein wieder rundum wunderbarer Abend. Wie jedes Jahr kehren wir wieder ein.

Trotz Reservierung tat die Bedienung als wären wir überraschend und unangekündigt vorbei gekommen. Angeboten wurde uns ein Tisch am Hummerbecken mit Aussicht auf die Müllbehälter. Nachdem wir uns wegen des Gestankes beschwert haben, gab es dann doch noch einen anderen Tisch. Das Essen war gehobener Durchschnitt (wir hatten keine Austern), die Portion groß, die Bedienungen freundlich bis muffig.

Das Ambiente ist draußen, sowie drinnen sehr schön. Der Service war klasse. Wir hatten Premiere beim Austern Essen und es wurde uns alles super erklärt.

Sehr schönes Restaurant und trotz unseres Outdoor Outfits wurden wir freundlich empfangen und durften uns ein Platz raussuchen. Austern waren top, die Chilli Garnelen haben gut geknallt und die Seezunge aus der Butterpfanne hat uns begeistert. Qualitäts-Seafood hat sein Preis (fangfrische Seezunge 70eur/600g) aber das war es absolut wert! Jederzeit wieder!

Es war wieder einmal wunderbar. Thorsten hat uns mit seiner freundlichen und lustigen Art den Abend versüßt. Das Essen war klasse. Die Austernvariationen sind ein Muss und das Ganze wird abgeschlossen mit der Pfanne Royal. Dazu ein Gläschen Sancerre und der Abend ist fein.

Das 1.mal unzufrieden. Essen war kalt. Es wurde ein Schnaps versprochen. Leider wurde die Bedienung dann nicht mehr gesehen.

Came here with colleagues that frequently visit the island. They had about 35 oysters each and said they especially loved the champagne slaw and truffled ones. I enjoyed an amazing pasta with lobster sauce and shrimp. Would go back in an instant!

Austern und mehr. Man kann draußen im Strandkorb sitzen. Sehr freundlicher Service. Die Austern gibt’s auch lecker überbacken.

Essen gut - vielleicht etwas überteuert und bei manchen Sachen kleine Portionen ! Service Katastrophe. Service unfreundlich, ungeduldig, schnippisch und unflexibel. Keine nette Antwort auf Fragen. Hatten Personen mit Allergien dabei und hierauf wurde gar nicht eingegangen. Keine Kinderkarte obwohl laut Beschreibung für Kinder empfohlen - halbe Größen haben dafür aber einen fairen Preis. Restaurant war bei der späten Reservierung ziemlich leer - so dass Service nicht auf Überforderung geschoben werden kann. Es wurde auch nie gefragt ob wir nicht etwas zum Trinken haben wollen - erste Bestellung muss reichen - oder alles passt.

Wer super frische Austern liebt, genau das richtige. Kleine aber feine Weinauswahl. Service Personal ist super, lassen sich bei Stress nicht aus der Ruhe bringen. Wir kommen gern wieder!

Solange man einfach nur die Austern nimmt oder die anderen Meeresfrüchte, ist alles gut. Die Spaghetti Vongole (und auch die anderen Variationen) waren lieblos in den Teller geworfen, viel zu viel, und leider nicht besonders. Das könnte man ohne Aufwand wesentlich besser machen.

Juli 2023 Wir waren am 23.07.23 spontan zur Mittagszeit hier , ohne vorher zu reservieren . Wir wurden Freundlich empfangen und zum Tisch 28 geführt, ein ruhiges Plätzchen mit schönem Ambiente. Im Restaurant waren erst ein paar Gäste an den Tischen , wir genossen die Ruhe und bestellten die Pfanne Royal , Austern , die Muschelsuppe und Spaghetti mit Tomate Garnelen 🍤 und extra Parmesan . Die Pfanne Royal war köstlich sie schmeckte nach Meer . Die Muschelsuppe war ein Gedicht . Wir hatten eine gute Wahl getroffen volle Punktzahl . Das Restaurant füllte sich sehr schnell , viele Gäste kamen mit Kleinkindern dadurch wurde es sehr unruhig und laut . Besteck fiel zu Boden , Getränke wurden umgekippt und die Kinder rannten durch den Raum (so stell ich mir Kindergeburtstag beim goldenen M vor ) Schade , dass die Eltern ihren Kindern kein Benehmen beibringen, wir fanden es sehr störend , deshalb haben wir schnell bezahlt und sind dann gegangen. Da kann das Restaurant nicht für . Ich gebe trotzdem volle 5 Sterne. Ich würde wieder kommen, dann zu einer späteren Tischzeit . Es ist zwar etwas hochpreisig, aber sehr gute Qualität Was mir auch gut gefiel, war das Geschirr , die Gläser und das die Butter in einer Auster serviert wurde .

Sehr gutes Essen und schönes Ambiente - drinnen sowie draußen...wir kommen jedes Jahr und essen die Meeresfrüchteplatte für 2 - nicht ganz günstig aber es lohnt sich :-) gehobene Gastronomie - wir kommen nächstes Jahr wieder

Best seafood and cozy easy-living eating experience and a must if you like oysters (biggest oyester menu even seem) but even if not the other dishes make it more than worth your while.

Wir waren 2x im Sylter Royal. Beim ersten Mal haben wir ein paar der Austern gekostet und waren sehr glücklich,...

Leider eine große Enttäuschung und eine reine Abzocke… Überteuerte Spaghetti und dann noch 2,50€ für Parmesan.. dazu noch der schlechteste...
