Very tasty food and attentive service!

Delicious food, excellent service, friendly staff, large selection, and short wait times. The best Indian restaurant I've ever been to.

I've been going to this restaurant for over 20 years, and it's still great. There are also nice outdoor seating areas if you want something a little quieter.

The dal and naan were incredibly delicious. The curries could have been a bit spicier, but otherwise very tasty and the service was excellent.

Yesterday, four of us sat on the terrace and ate very good Indian food. Prices were reasonable. Overall, a great experience and we'll probably repeat.

Very tasty, worth it, moderate portion for a good price.

For us, this is the top Indian restaurant in Munich: convincing cuisine (we also appreciate that rice can be ordered as desired), well-seasoned, from mild to (really) hot. The ambiance in a kind of Indian-decorated rock cellar below the street, complemented by a fantastic aquarium with tropical fish (ask for a table by the aquarium when making a reservation!), is just as impressive as the food. The service is plentiful, with many good staff, some of whom have long experience, from the Indian cultural background, which also makes it very authentic. The seating is quite close together, however, not ideal for intimate discussions, but we come here for food, not for secret negotiations anyway. That's why we're happy to return again and again!

For me, this is the best Indian restaurant – highly recommended for vegetarians too, and the spiciness of the dishes is adjusted to individual tastes. The pakoras weren't crispy. And despite ordering "vegan," they included paneer. That was a bit of a shame. We were satisfied with three of the four main courses, but one—with pineapple, mango, and paneer—was considered too sweet.

The chicken curry tasted good, but it was burnt on the bottom. The chili chicken, on the other hand, didn't taste good at all, even though I had enjoyed it at another restaurant. But I did like the onion nan.

The taste is good, the ingredients are fresh, and the service is very friendly. The portion is a bit small. The drinks feel ordinary.

Amazing authentic Indian food in Munich and really caring staff.

Amazing people, amazing service and amazing food. Loved the masala lemonade, which was off the menu request, but they still served it. The place is a must for dinners, especially because of its ambience. It is open until midnight, so if you are craving indian food, don’t think, just make it there.

Had an absolutely delicious dinner tonight! I should have made a note of the actual curry but we had a chicken curry with mint, coriander, green chilli and coconut milk, which was fantastic, and a prawn curry - even more delicious. We had a starter of poppadums and three different sauces (very tasty). We sat downstairs and the restaurant was very tastefully decorated. We chatted to a local man who was just getting up to leave - he said this is the best Indian food in Munich due to its authenticity. My partner had 2 beers, I had a Mango Lassi and a large bottle of water - the bill came to €66 before adding a tip.

This is my favorite Indian restaurant. It's hard to beat — from the amazing food (everything, but especially the incredible tandooris), to the great ambience (music and interior), and finally the friendliness of the waiters. We've eaten here so many times I've lost count, and we'll keep coming back.

Such a rip-off place! You order a dish that includes rice. There's no rice. You order a dish that includes sauce, but there's no sauce. Never again. Now I can eat my dry chicken masala with naan bread. Thanks very much.

Particularly noteworthy are the tandoori specialties from the clay oven, the curries, and the butter chicken. The dishes are intensely flavorful and freshly prepared, often with a pleasant spice. The mango lassi is also a dream! The service is friendly and attentive. Overall, Swagat is an excellent choice for anyone who values ​​authentic Indian food in a beautiful setting. A visit is worthwhile.

Atmosphere was cozy (I now firmly believe every restaurant should have an aquarium) and gave me proper "I am going to India for a few hours" vibes, which is what I look for in an exotic restaurant. My date and I had our privacy and we could talk, laugh and discuss freely. Service was top notch: they reacted fast, put in a really effort and were polite and smiling. In case the smiling was not a dead giveaway: they were all indian. Claustrophobes be warned: it is subterranean.

Unfortunately, the service was very slow; we had to wait much longer for our food (30-45 minutes) than our neighbors, who arrived later. The food was good, but nothing particularly special. The ambiance is okay, but the seating is poorly designed and designed more for maximum capacity than for guest comfort.

I've never been to an Indian restaurant with such excellent food. The service is very attentive. The decor is truly authentic. Simply 10/10.

Amazing place, great food, great prices and a very friendly and nice staff

The food was delicious – especially the main courses, which were quite large. The starter platter for two was good, but for €20, it could have been a bit more. The service was excellent; super friendly, attentive, and they always asked if everything was okay. The seats up on the terrace are a bit cramped, but still very comfortable. In the evening, they even extend a roof, and when it gets cooler, they turn on the heaters upon request. All in all, a lovely evening. We'll definitely be back.

Fantastic place to have Indian food! Got to try a host of dishes. Each one of them had distinct an authentic flavors. Lip smacking appertisers to succulent meat gravies. It should be everyones first thought of place to have Indian food in Munich.

Very good Indian restaurant – absolutely recommended! We spontaneously made a reservation for 16 people - it worked without any problems. The ambience is typically Indian, with indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside and were served very friendly and attentively. The service was top – we asked regularly whether everything was OK. The food was really tasty, and even though there were so many of us, all the dishes came at the same time. So we could eat together. Rice was always replenished – great! We enjoyed it very much. We'd love to come back!

I was there for lunch at Swagat. The prices are very cheap and the food is good - you sometimes only pay 9.50 for a dish with rice and soup. The store is therefore very popular and very busy. The staff are all very friendly. Unfortunately, you sit outside on the terrace very close to your neighbor because the tables are very close to each other.

Huge selection of dishes, good authentic taste in a restaurant without windows. The restaurant has been a solid address for many years. A renovation of the toilets would be desirable, perhaps this would stop the musty smell there.

The restaurant has potential, but our experience wasn’t the best. It’s definitely not children-friendly — we were seated at an isolated table in the corner, away from the rest of the restaurant, which felt a bit unwelcoming. The service could have been better; the staff didn’t seem very attentive. As for the food, it was acceptable, but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, an average experience.

It's a real shame. A few years ago, the food at Swagat was absolutely outstanding. It was my favorite restaurant. Unfortunately, the quality today is no longer comparable. I had lamb that tasted absolutely nothing, and the mango sauce, on the other hand, was significantly less aromatic and too sweet compared to before. The significantly higher price now is no longer worth it for me.

Loved the Food, good vibes, fresh and hygienic food. The food standard was above anything and it was reflected in the taste. The people working there are also very good. A must try authentic Indian food.

Hands down the best Indian food I had in Munich. The butter naan was absolutely amazing! We went before the theater on a Monday. Not being the only ones with that idea meant the restaurant was packed. The service did their utmost and I believe on other days it’s less busy and the food will arrive more quickly.

We love Swagat! We are regular customers at Swagat, both for the family dinners and for lunch, with the work colleagues. The food is absolutely delicious, the people are amazingly friendly and welcoming, everything is very clean and the atmosphere is super nice and cosy. We’ve tried Indian food in many places, including in London, but Swagat remains the best and we are always happy to return here. We’ve brought the grandparents and friends here and everyone loved it!

Good Indian cuisine at slightly higher prices. Organization could be improved, the telephone reservation was lost, and not only for us, but also for several other arriving guests, who all stood at the entrance a little perplexed.

It is very, very cozy and absolutely delicious and inexpensive. I paid €30 for a drink, side dish, main course and dessert without a tip. The service is super nice and in a good mood, I can only recommend it!!!

Just great and have been getting this food for 3 years

We asked if a table was available and were accommodated, but shortly after, we were informed that the kitchen would be closing in 5 minutes. If we would know , we would not choose to stay, as we did not wish to eat under time pressure. We ordered soup and one dish, but received the dish without sauce and rice, when we ask for missing rest, they answered unpleasantly that the kitchen is now closed. Despite this, we were charged the full price! Food was below average quality…
