The best Indian restaurant I know. Exceptionally delicious.

Always delicious. There were five of us, and everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was attentive and polite. The restaurant was quite busy, so reservations are recommended. However, parking is limited.

The ambiance and service are impressive, but the food falls far short of what Indian cuisine is actually known for.

Advantages: Service is quick, even when the restaurant is busy, and the food arrives promptly. You can usually get a table without a reservation. Disadvantages: The food is mediocre—okay. It's not bad, but nothing exceptional. The ambiance doesn't reflect the Indian spirit; in general, it lacks the authentic Indian atmosphere one experiences in India and hopes to find again in Indian restaurants here in Germany. Prices are above average; you can get better food elsewhere in Munich for less. Parking is also difficult. Nevertheless, 4 stars because the service is excellent!

Summary: Super friendly staff and delicious food! I rarely give five stars, but I was absolutely delighted here! Full version: The four of us spontaneously went to the restaurant without a reservation. Unfortunately, it was full. However, the staff were incredibly friendly and did everything they could to accommodate us. They even called guests who had reservations but hadn't arrived yet. After a 10-minute wait, we got a table. From then on, the staff remained extremely friendly and attentive! The menu offers a wide selection of dishes and also includes special recommendations. The food was also very tasty, and the meat was incredibly tender. We were genuinely sad when everything was gone because we enjoyed it so much. The only downside, in my opinion, is that the atmosphere is quite noisy. Nevertheless, all in all, a fantastic restaurant! Excellent staff, excellent food! Thank you for your hospitality!

The Indian Village more than deserves its 5 stars. Firstly, they made every effort to ensure we were seated for four people, even without a reservation. Secondly, the food was incredibly good. The owners took their time, for example, when serving wine, while still serving orders very quickly. The restaurant has a very pleasant and cozy ambiance, and the waiters also make you feel at home. We had a wonderful evening and can wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant! (A generous tip is also more than appropriate there.)

We stopped by for lunch. It was nice and quiet for lunchtime. Attentive and polite service. The food was excellent, as always!

The food wasn’t particularly special — nothing really stood out, and it didn’t leave a strong impression on me. That might be because I wasn’t very hungry at the time. I’ll give it 4 stars for now, and I do plan to come back for a more accurate judgment next time. However, I couldn’t help but wonder: was it really worth the price? I was honestly surprised to see €4.90 for a thin piece of naan bread — I personally think it’s only worth about €1.

I came here quite a few times with my friends, because we have a vegan friend who is Indian and the food here is absolutely delicious. But the first time I was walking by with my girlfriend and wanted to make her try Mango Lassi, and I asked if we could pay with a card, the gentleman said that only drinks are not possible to pay with a card. I asked how much we should spend, he said 10€. And the discussion should have ended there and I should just be able to sit and pick from the menu to make up to 10€. I just asked as a possibility maybe 2 Mango Lassi and for reference thats 2x4,60€ so 9,20€ and he said that also doesn't work, so I ordered an alcoholic beverage for my girlfriend and a Mango Lassi and the whole time the waiters attitude was not nice, it felt like we are more of a burden than customers... And remind you this was 13:40 so 20 minutes before they close for their mid day break, they open later at night again for dinner. So basically no-one will be able to sit order food and eat before you close, so we are giving you free money, I understand you have some guidelines because you have to pay commission for card payments but not being lax about that and making us feel so pressured is not ok. Just say we have a minimum of 10€ for card payments and show us to our seats, if I am still interested in spending that much money. Why are we still discussing??? But the food is delicious regardless and I know they will file for defamation if I rate them lower than 4 so, don't want to deal with google support so there you have it 🤣

We were very satisfied with the attentive service and the delicious food. You should get at least a 4.7 :-). We had the pishwari naan with coconut and almonds. And samosas with chutneys, yogurt, and pomegranate. A poem, even visually. And then the soy chops for the main course. Then we had another naan, so plentiful and everything perfect. We'll be back.

Food is incredibly good! Service very courteous and friendly. A lot of attention was paid to detail in the very nice restaurant. The outdoor area would round off the whole concept with a little more greenery facing the street. We always like to come back !

Best Indian in Munich! Super nice and courteous service and the food is incredibly tasty and beautifully prepared. The rice you get with it is not just white rice, it is colored and refined with saffron or turmeric and the naan is delicious and fresh. I always have the paneer masala. It has the perfect spiciness for me. I lived in India for a few months a year and this Indian restaurant is by far the best in Munich in terms of the overall quality of service, ambience and most importantly of course the food itself. Come very often and very happily. They also have a great lunch menu.

The food is great and the selection is large - both vegetarian and meat dishes. Nicely furnished inside. Only when it came to the prices for naan did the owners go wrong for my taste. 5€ for a thin flatbread (material value less than 50 cents). This is outrageous.

If you want to spend a wonderful evening with your loved ones, you are in good hands here. From the very attentive and courteous service you want to wonderfully smelling and tasting dishes, you are well advised here. In the evening, cozy darkened lights create a very nice atmosphere, complemented by candles and oil lamps on the tables, which give a good and cozy feeling. There is also a lot of emphasis on a well-presented dish. The eye eats too. All in all, an absolute recommendation for a delicious and pleasant dinner in an atmospheric location. Small points of criticism: The portions weren't very large and the meat portion, especially lamb, was a bit limited. Nevertheless, it tasted good and we had a nice evening and will come back.

There is no information about allergens on the menu, which makes ordering extremely difficult for allergy sufferers. When I asked the staff for information about possible allergens, they were extremely rude and aggressive. They claimed that all dishes contained allergens and literally shouted at us that we shouldn't eat Indian if we didn't like it. Treating guests like this is unacceptable. Transparency about the ingredients and respectful treatment of customers should be a given in every restaurant. I will definitely not recommend this restaurant.

We have been coming to Indian Village for years and enjoy the good food and always friendly service. And today we say an extra THANK YOU for the little Christmas greeting 2024. The Masala Chai tastes wonderful, I feel like I'm on vacation!!!

We love the food from Indian Village and frequently order however I would like to write a review on the rudeness of the service staff. It has happened multiple times now, but let me elaborate from this evening. On 6/10/2024 we ordered Palak Paneer and Chicken Kadai over call for take away. We clearly remember what we ordered because we are vegetarians and we specifically ordered a chicken dish for one of our friends. The order was confirmed by the restaurant personal. Upon reaching the restaurant and telling the order number(#200) and also the content of the order(Palak Paneer & Chicken Kadai) we received the order. After coming back home when we opened the box, we found Paneer instead of Chicken. I immediately called the restaurant to check with them. The first thing I was asked is if I was sure what order I had placed! And then I was asked if I had already started with the dish. Of course we hadn't started! The restaurant asked us multiple times to confirm if we had started eating or not in order to exchange. Finally the restaurant agreed to replace the dish with the actual order. Meanwhile, I asked them to start preparing the Chicken kadai and I would come to their resturant in 5 minutes to give back Paneer Kadai which they wrongly prepared. This was soley to save time since I dont have to wait another 15 mins for the order. But instead, the person on the other side said he wants to verify if we had actually ate the dish or not and then he will determine if he will provide the replacement. This is ridiculous since we would not eat the dish and they ask for the replacement. Secondly it does not matter since they messed up the order. They should replace it with actual order anyway. The point being mistakes happen, in this case probably he wrote wrongly as Paneer kadai instead of Chicken kadai. However, there's a way of dealing with your customers who especially are regulars to your restaurant. This person from the restaurant was rude. Upon requesting firmly on the call, he said he will start preparing the actual dish. Not surprisingly though, while I was at the restaurant to collect the order, he requested to end the topic and not to go any further. This is definitely to avoid a bad review on internet platforms! But in the interest of the public and other customers I had to write this! We also payed the the difference amount while collecting the order (Attached is the bill for reference). Not just good food but the way customers are treated is equally important! Lastly, I want to mention to the owner, food at this place is really the best in Munich, but I hope your staff also behaves as amazing as your food is.

We decided to try this restaurant after seeing its high rating, but it ended up being a huge disappointment. 1. The head waiter couldn't speak English, which may have contributed to the unwelcoming treatment. We felt almost forced to tip when he mentioned that the bill didn't include a service charge, which is unusual in Germany. We usually tip 5% to 10%, so we did. 2. We ordered four items, main items came with rice. It wasn't possible to switch to Naan, so we had to return the rice to avoid waste and ordered Naan separately. 3. We ordered for plain water since we don't drink alcohol, but we received a jar of cold tap water and were billed for it. 4. We're not sure which part of India their recipes are from (Punjab?). While the meat and ingredients seemed fresh, the food appeared to be tailored for a Western audience unfamiliar with authentic Indian cuisine. We ordered a spicy chicken curry, but what we received was a mix of green chili and tomato paste with tawa-fried chicken. It was unbearably spicy with no flavor or Indian masala. 5. We visited during peak winter season, and there was no hot water in the washroom. Overall, it was an Indian disaster. We wondered why TripAdvisor gave it a high rating. Perhaps it was for the hygiene and freshness of the ingredients, but that doesn't make it great Indian food! DELI TADKA street food restaurants in Munich offer better food at more affordable prices. Google and TripAdvisor ratings have become a joke these days.

The best Indian restaurant in Munich.

Great Indian restaurant, I've eaten there a few times, always great food and friendly and very attentive staff. This is my brother's favorite restaurant and we recently had a meal there with him and felt comfortable as always. The food is always very good, you always receive a warm welcome and you just feel comfortable. We enjoyed the very tasty food again and we would definitely like to come back. Great facility, you always feel very comfortable and I always enjoy going there and can always recommend it from the bottom of my heart✌️😉🌅

I've eaten Indian food many times and I say that I know what I'm talking about. The restaurant is at a top level. From the service to the food, everything was impeccable. It was average place with average food, we had biryani which was not flavoured as it should be. Also the place has special condition for eating in the restaurant that one must compulsory buy a drink even if they are not interested which sort of puzzled me. The head server was also quite stringent on this policy however for the rest of time he was quite polite . So to sum it all in a sentence not worth the hype, pretty much an average place.

I had the pleasure of dining at Indian Village on Saturday evening and absolutely loved it! The dishes were authentic and full of flavor. Of particular note were the Butter Chicken and Biryani, which were perfectly seasoned and tender. The vegetarian options, like the palak paneer, were also excellent. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. We received a warm welcome and the service was consistently professional and quick. The restaurant has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The decoration is tasteful and adds to the authentic Indian experience. The prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. We felt we got very good value for money. I can highly recommend the Indian village. It is a must for anyone who wants to enjoy authentic Indian cuisine in a pleasant environment. We will come back in any case!

The last time we were there was about 7 years ago because we didn't like the food and the ambience back then. We thought, OK, let's go again, 2 chances. We had chicken curry, butter chicken and duck Vidaloo, as starters 2x crab soup. Drinks 5x special. So....The butter chicken was relatively ok, but the chicken was a bit dry. The chicken curry was very strange because the sauce was brown-red with two potatoes and also dry chicken. The duck was ok but the rice in both dishes was also very dry and even got stuck in my throat at the end. The soup at the beginning was good, but unfortunately the crabs were pureed. The Spezi were good with fresh orange slices. The ambience was also ok, only the music was mixed, so that the Indian flair didn't come across. We had three different waitresses, all very friendly and approachable, but when they realized that we didn't like it, a slight ignorance arose. The price of 95€ is really expensive for 3 people. Unfortunately, the Indian Village will have to do without us for the next 7 years. By the way, there are only two parking spaces. Not recommended for guests of a little further afield in Munich and from the surrounding area....mei if you like it....!!!

This is probably the best Indian restaurant in Munich that's not as pricey as Madam Chutney. The ambience is good, the staff could be more polite but it's not too bad. The food was delicious, the spice level was just right and every item we ordered was freshly prepared and lived up to its original taste.

The food is great and not overpriced, you get a lot for your money

I've visited many Indian restaurants across Germany, but this one has by far the worst service. The Indian waiter from Dehradun was extremely rude to us, giving off a distinctly racist vibe. While he served other guests properly, he merely placed our food on the table without any courtesy. Typically, waiters ask if guests need anything else, but this waiter dismissively said, "Ho gaya tum logo ka." This behavior is completely unprofessional. The food was merely average, Naam bade darshan chote.

Mixed pakora dark and spoiled it was bad onion bhaji was fungus and there was sweat smell in the salad.
