Longstanding Indian restaurant in one of the most beautiful districts of Lehels near Thierschplatz. Extensive menu, long opening hours even on public holidays, friendly, attentive service. The interior is a bit old and could use a major renovation. Otherwise highly recommended.

Very good Indian cuisine with attentive service. Absolute recommendation. However, you sit relatively close to the next tables.

We were there for lunch. We had Palak Paneer and Chana Masala which were both really delicious. When the weather was lovely, it was very comfortable to sit outside, so I can't say anything about the ambience inside. The service was quick and friendly. The price-performance ratio is really great!

taste was good, but lunch 'menu' is really very small for an average human being. in that 'menu' one can choose 'salad' but the 'salad' is a couple of old leaves and old tomatoes, and the so called main dish afterwards is mainly rice and literally 5 pieces of chicken. I was still hungry afterwards so I went to grab a sandwich. I travelled a lot, and this is my first experience with really small portions to be honest. I told him that I was still hungry, and he was angry and said 'yeah but this is lunch and one only pays 10 euro something not 17'. but how could I know that choosing a lunch menu means I'm not even eating enough?! better not to sell this option and focus on full price/normal portion instead.

Super delicious food - also vegan. Outdoor spaces also very comfortable. Service great. Wine, beer, food awesome. We were thrilled.

Have been going here for 15 years. Previously was great traditional Spicey food. Tonight what a fall from grace. A lamb vindaloo which tasted like a korma and had zero spicey or vindaloo flavor with meat which I question was lamb and many potatoes. Really awful how this place has slipped.

I enjoyed the delightful taste of india in Munich. The food had the perfect mixture of all the spices. The staff is also really polite and welcoming. Mr. Amar took a good care of me and served me on time with his calming smile . Would love to visit again .

Zu den Mittagszeiten jedesmal derart hektisch und laut.Eine Massenabfertigung auf Zicki Zacki. Die Huhngerichte sind in der Substanz alle gleich, nur einmal scharf, oder mal mit Gemüse, oder Zwiebel,etc.....Die hevorragende Lage, umgeben von Regierung und Versicherungen beschert dem Wirt das gesicherte Einkommen....aber sicherlich nicht die Qualität.

I live in Lehel and have been to this restaurant several times. The food is good (apart from the salad that comes with the lunch menu) and the place is actually pretty. The small tables are very close together, which makes it a bit uncomfortable at times. When I was there for lunch today with a friend, after an hour the bill was placed on the table without being asked, accompanied by the words: Need a free table. I find what I said to the waiter to be extremely rude. Instead of an apology, he talked about reservations, which were not apparent to us. Basically it was a sacking. This is not how you treat your guests.

Perfect place to taste the authentic Indian food..Must try..

The sitar is one of our favorite Indians. We come here almost every time we are in Munich and have a good time. The Thalis are highly recommended as you can try different dishes. So far we have always been very satisfied. The food is outstanding, the service is nice and friendly. The ambience is "unspectacular", but that's irrelevant for us. The restaurant itself is clean and well-kept - that is much more important to me than the decoration.

Compact and cozy. The guest room is manageably large, so you quickly feel at home. The team is consistently friendly and attentive. The soup and the chana chat were ok, the other dishes were delicious, you can put together the thali selection yourself - a big plus! The dishes have a great, unique touch, you can taste individual spice mixtures, apart from the European-adapted uniformity. Tip: With a thali you can try three “small” dishes at once, which is absolutely worth it!

Went for a evening Snack to this place, took Veg pakora and masala tea. Both we re delicious and good quality. Meanwhile customer friendly.

We ordered the chicken korma and it was really not good. It tasted off and the staff seemed stressed. The interior of the restaurant is nice though.

Ich kann mir gut vorstellen, dass dieses Restaurant abends ordentliche Gerichte auf den Tisch zaubert. Vom Mittagsservice bin ich ehrlicherweise etwas etwas enttäuscht. Dachte, ich wäre nach Jahren mit meinen indischen Joint Venture Partnern und ihren Ratschlägen (Curries kann jeder, Unterschiede zeigen sich in den Kebabs, ordentliches Tikka auch kein Selbstläufer, achte auch auf den Reis) und täglich 2x Reis zuhause vorbereitet. Habe hoffnungsfroh ein Chicken Tikka bestellt (Kollege auch) und exakt 4 kleine Stückchen Chicken bekommen (etwas trocken, aber grds. ok, wenn auch kein echter Tandoor Geschmack, Masala war nicht überzeugend, was mich überraschte), Reis war eine echte Enttäuschung obwohl man das eigentlich mit ordentlichem Reis und großem Reiskocher so einfach hinbekommen kann. War jedoch kein besonders guter Reis, offensichtlich aufgewärmt (erinnerte mich ein bisschen an Uncle Bens Reis damals bei meiner Oma) und vom Vortag (was super ist, wenn Du Bratreis willst, aber eher schwach bei einem normalen Reisgericht und es war ja auch erst 12 Uhr, also der Supply noch nicht erschöpft, hoffe ich). Ernsthaft, das war nicht so schön. Die Gerichte der Kollegen waren ok (aber halt auch nur ok, eine Kollegin meinte gerade, ihres war gut, das möchte ich nicht unerwähnt lassen). Mein persönliches Fazit jedoch: Nix berühmtes und sicherlich nichts, was ein Wiederkommen ans Herz legt. Wie gesagt, innen und abends mag es ein ganz anderes Spiel sein. Das werde ich mir bei Gelegenheit nochmals ansehen. Für das schnelle Lunch gibt es jedoch bessere Alternativen.

Das Essen - wie immer - sehr schmackhaft. Service freundlich und aufmerksam.

Wir waren in einer Gruppe von 15 Personen da. Alle Gerichte sind wirklich empfehlenswert. Preis/Leistung... Nun in der Innenstadt muss man immer mehr zahlen. Aber wir hatten alle Spaß und den Abend genießen können. Reservierung ist von Vorteil.

Super Essen, super Leute. Habe noch nie so gut gegessen. Wir waren 5 Tage in München und waren 2 mal dort. 11/10

Essen ist immer super lecker, Portionen sind ok und wir sind jedes Mal satt und glücklich nach Hause gegangen. Einziger kleiner Wermutstropfen (in meinen Augen) ist die Tatsache, das vehement keine Kartenzahlung für niedrigpreisigere Rechnungen (unter 25 Euro wenn ich mich nicht täusche) akzeptiert werden.

Ich bin mehr als begeistert von diesem kleinen Inder! Indisch geht immer, dachte ich mir. Aber dass es doch geschmacklich große Unterschiede gibt, hab ich hier gemerkt. Das Gericht, das ich hatte, kannte ich von keinem anderen Inder und war, als es kam und ich den 1. Bissen nahm, im 7. Himmel! Jetzt noch läuft mir das Wasser im Mund zusammen! Die Bedienung war freundlich, das Essen kam flott und als Aufmerksam des Hauses gab es Papadams und 3 Soßen zum Start und am Ende irgendeinen süßen Schnaps. Große Empfehlung!

Richtig gutes Essen, sehr preiswert, Gerichte etwa bei 10-15 €, man bekommt auch nochmal Reis wenn man fragt.

Man merkt, dass man nicht in irgendeinem Schickimicki-Ex-und-Hopp-Laden gelandet ist: Mit soliden Speisen und Service erlebt man einen entspannten Aufenthalt.

food taste- 4/5 Ambience -5/5 location- 5/5 , nearby U-bahn food portion-2/5 for starter,5/5 for main course starter portion is very less,serves only for one person. so we ended up ordering more for main course but it come with huge portion and they give rice free with the dal,so we didn't consider that.More food,More bill and food wastage. service - 4.5 ( Waiter brought the wrong order 2 times, didn't clarify about portion size properly) but overall very polite and good service.

Gut erreichbar, super Essen, freundliches Personal, nette Einrichtung. Kann man mit gutem Gewissen uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Die Karte enthält alle indischen Klassiker. Essen war frisch und hochwertig.

5/5. Ich habe schon so viele Inder in München ausprobiert und dieser ist mit Abstand der Beste. Trotz der Lage (Lehel) sehr gutes Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis. Große Portionen, netter Service, schöner Innenraum. Ich komme definitiv wieder!!

Decor really great, food sufficiently good. My veg Samosas had a too dense middle snd and were slightly bland; OK with yogurt sauce. Ordered the mixed tandoori grill for mains. Nicely presented, above average quantity but again both the meat spicing and sauce lacked excitement; however totally OK but not memorable. Would I come back? With such a great choice of restaurants in Münich- unlikely.

This place is much nicer than the usual Indian restaurant. It has a better decor than the usual Indian style that is not really my type. The food was delicious but a bit to greasy for my taste. They adapted a vegetarian dish to vegan, but in the menu there’s not even one vegan option.

I went to this place 4 years ago and just visited again this evening and I still remembered the place so well because the food and customer service was incredible . I totally recommend count to this place even if you don’t live in the area, if anyone was wondering then I ordered number 23 on the menu and it was fantastic, sadly I did not take any pictures as my phone died but the interior is relaxing and has a good smell and a nice vibe to it. This place gets a 9.25/10 and I totally recommend it.

Sono un celiaco e lo ho fatto presente prima ancora di prenotare e anche prima di scegliere dal menù. Mi è stato detto che potevo scegliere tra tante cose, ma quando il piatto mi è arrivato era totalmente insapore e quando ho chiesto come mai, prima mi hanno detto che doveva essere così, ma quando ho spiegato che sono stato tante volte in India e un po' la conosco la cucina indiana, mi hanno detto che lo avevevano preparato in quel modo per renderlo senza glutine. Il problema è che mi dovevano dire questo prima e dovevano orientare la mia scelta verso quelle ricette che non hanno grano, farina e tutto quanto il celiaco non può mangiare. Alla fine ho mangiato una cosa cattiva solo aggiungendo molto piccante, ma mi sono sentito pure preso in giro. In aggiunta a tutto, quando alle 20,15 ho prenotato, dicendo che sarei arrivato dopo una mezz'ora abbondante, arrivando alle 21 mi hanno detto che dovevo fare in fretta perchè alle 22 il risorante chiude e quindi alle 21,50 hanno iniziato a spegnere le luci. Secondo me i clienti non si trattano così e quindi penso proprio che non ci tornerò più!
