SUVI Modern Asian Kitchen in Mannheim

I ordered a soup on the menu from the picture, but it came with an udon noodle dish. The condition did not want to exchange the dish “it has been wrong in Menu for 4 years”

A fantastic Asian restaurant that impresses across the board! The ambience is modern, stylish and invites you to feel good. The food is a real pleasure – fresh, aromatic and prepared with great attention to detail. From starters to main courses, the highest quality is offered here. The service is also top: friendly, attentive and always on hand. A place to which you will always like to return - absolutely recommended!

Starter: The seared raw tuna was outstanding. Main course: Unfortunately the rest was disappointing. We ordered curry noodles and noodles with shrimps. Surprisingly, the second dish also contained curry, although this was not stated on the menu. A reference to ingredients such as coconut milk would have been welcome. Payment: Only cash payment was possible, which is inconvenient. PayPal was offered, but only through the “Friends and Family” option, which somewhat dampened our trust. Service: Very nice and attentive Ambience: So not really true to social media and rather sporadic It's a shame, as the evening started promisingly with the starter.

While browsing through our gourmet block, we spontaneously decided to visit Suvi. We were lucky that a table just became available when we arrived. Unfortunately, when we ordered, the waitress told us that the restaurant had no connection to Schlemmerblock. We were more than surprised because Suvi was noted as a newly added restaurant in the Schlemmerblock. Apart from that, the food was very good, and we also really enjoyed the homemade lemonades. The prices at Suvi are a little higher.

Food was very good and sufficient. One star deducted because the pasta of a warm main course (no salad) was cold and we were not informed about it. We ate there in December and the atmosphere was also cold. We were freezing despite wearing a wool sweater. The table next to us had a heater, but we couldn't get the heat. Price/performance is okay, service was very good.

This was the most amazing sushi I have had so far. It just melts in your mouth. The food is tasty and creative, presentation is beautiful and the service is attentive and kind. It gives me joy writing this review. Can only recommend this restaurant! It is on the expensive side though but it was worth it.

The reservation online went quickly, I had stated that I would bring my dog, which means that the staff read my comment because they knew my name when I came in. Very nice 👍 Arriving with a dog was no problem at all, immediately gave water for the little one, the waiter immediately asked if the dog needed water 👍 Service, Chapeau... Nice, courteous, not intrusive… The food: Starter: soup / summer rolls (we were 2 people) Excellent…. Main course: Tuna dish with rice, yummie yummie yummie 😍😍😍, fresh, hot, tuna as it should be, sushi, oh my goodness, pure taste experience 😍😍😍 My mint tea was very, very tasty 😉 Price wise totally okay 👌🍀 All I can say is, people go eat there and enjoy it! Food and ambience top. Service a bit impersonal and unfortunately no card payment possible.

The restaurant made a great impression on social media, so we were happy to test it out. We were welcomed very friendly and escorted to the table. The service was friendly. The food took a while to arrive but was ok. We had the vegetarian curry with tofu. Unfortunately, the dish was a bit bland overall. The tofu itself was way too soft and had no taste whatsoever. We told the waitress this directly. She apologized and asked if we would like anything else. We said no. When we paid (another waiter) we kindly said that we normally like to give tips but unfortunately we didn't like the food. The waiter took this as a personal insult and told us that he had never heard that before. Well, at some point it's always the first time, but in the Suvi it ​​will be the last time for us.

Celebrated a birthday there today, made a reservation a few hours in advance. Our meal came with a Happy Birthday platter and the service staff catered to all of our wishes. Are super satisfied and would like to come again. Food very tasty and service very nice :)

It remains a mystery to me where negative reviews come from here. However, there are two unusual details: 1. only cash payment - which I certainly support, and 2. a time slot for the stay, which will also be pointed out when making the reservation. A completely understandable measure that I can also understand. Otherwise, the quality of the food, the loving decoration and the attentive service were beyond any doubt. I suspect that behind the strange negative comments there is more of a “war of recession” because the same spectrum of evaluations can also be observed among all competitors in the surrounding area. In any case, there was nothing to complain about here. And yes, there are certainly cheaper Asian takeaways, but this is downtown after all. However, I found the prices to be moderate. In any case, full and very satisfied, I take the few steps back to the Mercure Hotel am Friedensplatz, which is also recommended.

The food is great, but the service makes it a bit unpleasant. We had made a reservation and were shown to a table right next to others in a completely empty restaurant. When we sat down at the exact same type of table a little further away. We were told three times that this actually didn't work. “Because our names were booked on the table internally and it was inconvenient to rebook this.” Next to our table, someone had ordered cranberry soda and got pomegranate. When she asked, she was rebuffed: “He doesn’t drink soda. That’s why he can’t judge it.” The food is fresh. I guess it's hard to find good waiters. I feel sorry for the operators and the skilled chefs. I won't come back because of the service.

We became aware of the restaurant because of the Schlemmerblock. Unfortunately the restaurant claimed they were not participating. We decided to eat there anyway, but unfortunately the friendliness of the service had cooled down significantly. Clever to take the advertising from the gourmet block and then not stick to the conditions of participation.

Fruit flies on the table, dozens. Dirty chairs. Unfriendly greeting even though we made a reservation. No wipes in the toilet. The floor in the bathroom is sticky. Talk too sharp even though ordered differently.

I ordered and paid via Lieferando. The order was then canceled by telephone because we are outside the delivery area in Heidelberg and Lieferando only approved the order incorrectly. As far as is understandable, unfortunately we still haven't seen our money back to this day (more than 2 months later). You get cut off on the phone and you get no response to emails. The store is definitely not recommended!

Critics in this restaurant is lamenting on a very high standard. Well I was absolutely satisfied with food, how it was presented and the spicy taste. Never had a duck made so delicious and absolutely tender. It was a bit noisy, a couple of friend had a meeting next table, but that’s it - great!

Never again - spoiled fish - bad treatment of customers! We have eaten at SUVI a few times and have always been satisfied. I've had their salmon (medium fried) on all my visits, including today. Unfortunately, I immediately noticed a bad smell and when I tried the salmon, I also noticed the bad taste. I let my son and husband try it without telling them anything first. My son spit the salmon out immediately and my husband didn't even want to try it because of the smell. I called service and very kindly said that the salmon didn't seem to be good anymore and had it returned. We had 4 dishes in total. Everyone else was good. As usual. The salmon was still included on the bill. We mentioned it and the service was visibly uncomfortable. She said they have to charge for it since it was already cooked. She said that she would clarify it with the boss, which she probably did over the phone since he wasn't there. Therefore, personal and direct clarification in the right place was not possible for us. The salmon was definitely already bad and I find it impossible that it was still charged! This is not how to deal with customers. We had 4 main courses, 5 drinks and a starter, so that wasn't exactly a small amount. We will never go there again. It can happen that something isn't good, but treating customers like that and insisting on paying for spoiled food is impossible! A very poor restaurant management if you want guests to come back.

I had dinner here with my husband. The restaurant is nicely decorated inside, but the menu was completely different than the one we saw on the homepage. They now have a new menu with different prices and dishes. We then had to choose something else, which is fine. I had breaded chicken with rice and vegetables. It tasted good at the beginning, but in the middle of it my stomach started hurting and I had to go to the toilet. While we were eating there were 3 bluebottles circling around our food. I don't know what the kitchen looks like. When I paid I told the waitress that my food wasn't good and I had a stomach ache and had to go straight to the toilet. She just laughed and said: "Aso, ok, yes, yes." I think she didn't know what to say. One might have expected an apology. I paid the full price of almost €55 for two drinks and two main courses. Never again. No recommendation and I would rather inform the health authority.

Very tasty vegetarian dishes! My friends love the fresh fish/sushi and the service is very quick. In addition, the dishes are beautifully presented and are a real eye-catcher for example. birthday parties. Frequent contact point for my family/friends and also to go when I get home from work :) Can just be recommended (Also try the homemade ginger drink)

For a quick meal, simply order the salmon with vegetables and rice. People were very friendly and the food was okay. The portion was very good and the main courses will definitely fill you up. It wasn't anything super special, but still solid if you just want to eat something sensible.

Everything was perfect, the tofu and the varied selection impressed me positively

Overall we were very satisfied. Unfortunately the rice and the sauce of the curry (2/4 of the main course) were cold - the taste was perfect, but I'm sure it would have tasted even better warm. The salmon in one of the 4 main courses we ordered was to die for, whereas the pieces of beef in the curry weren't particularly tender. Still not a disappointment in terms of taste for a casual dinner with friends or family. The selection of sauces for the starter plate was really good / I can recommend the restaurant and hope for warm rice and curry sauce next time, as well as more tender! Thanks to the team for the flavor compositions and visually appealing presentations, especially with the tempura salmon roll. Ambience: the chairs at the tables are more lounge-like and are only moderately suitable for dining - we will reserve a table with benches next time.

I've eaten sushi many times, but Suvi takes it up a notch! Super tasty, attentive staff! Even though it wasn't exactly cheap (without looking at the price and with very, very empty stomachs for two with a tip of 150 euros) it was simply great! We will be back.

Food was great. We had the summer rolls and 2x bento. However, the seating is pretty worn out. Especially the bench.

Used to be my favorite Shushi shop, but has declined significantly. 1. Prices increased again (at least the 3rd time since opening!) which is definitely no longer justified, because... 2. Staff has changed, which is unfortunately noticeable. You constantly have to ask for service, tables were unclean and drinks were simply forgotten. 3. Portions are getting smaller and smaller. 4. All tables and chairs are very outdated, wobbling and already dead. As I said, not for that much money! A roll of sushi over €20 (8 pieces) That was the last time....

There was a fly in the food. The place we were given was not cleaned properly beforehand. The shrimp were not properly deveined. We didn't get our food at the same time. The sushi was served really nicely and tasted good, but still nothing special and therefore the price is absolutely not justified. It's ok to go there once, but not a second time.

The food was very tasty, the portions are large and the quality is good. The prices are normal to cheap. The employees come regularly to check whether you need anything and the waiting time for the main course was normal to short.

Food was good, but in my opinion quite expensive for solid sushi. Big disadvantage: We had to leave after 2 hours: the next guests were already at the table and waiting. Excellent sushi dinner that we had. Very nice place and black style but it is dimly lit and it seems that it is dark. Very slow and disorganized service. Drinks are good but the glasses are half full with too much ice. Sushi was very good and we were happy. We recommend booking in advance as the place is always full.

The restaurant smelled like a mothball (?). The smell was very pungent. We ordered the sushi for 2: the fish smelled and tasted very pungent. We sent the plate back untouched. There was only a brief apology, no offer of a discount. We had to pay with PayPal via friends (even though it is a store). Very disappointing.

Be careful when ordering for pickup: the prices in the menu on the homepage are not correct, which the staff freely admit. In our case the actual price was 25% higher. SUVI only accepts cash, although the menu on the homepage contains minimum amounts for debit and credit cards (as of April 1, 2024). A rather questionable practice for the higher price level. Once and never again.

This sushi restaurant also serves dishes other than sushi. As a starter I decided on the summer roll with salmon, which was created with fresh ingredients, but the taste didn't meet my expectations. That's what happened to me with the butterfish. However, the vegetables with the curry sauce were delicious. Cash only. Reservations are recommended, which can also be done online.

Food tastes good. The lemonades look great. The staff is friendly, but unfortunately we had a bit of a problem with communication. We had ordered Vietnamese coffee and after waiting 20 minutes and asking, we were told that there was no more coffee available. 3 minutes later we were told that there were exactly 2 cups left and they would be there soon. We also had no dessert. No ice cream, no sesame balls. The main prize was soy duck. It's a shame, I wouldn't have expected it on a Sunday evening.

We were there for dinner yesterday. Unfortunately the stay wasn't very nice. Unfortunately it was very dirty, the menu was very worn and sticky. Some dishes not available. Instead of wild herb salad you get other salad that seems inferior. Unfortunately my food was cold. The service staff is rather inattentive and unfortunately you have to wait a long time with an empty glass for another drink. Eating out is no fun.

We booked a table for Valentine's Day. There were problems with free space already at the beginning. no one warned during the reservation that payment was only in cash. after that we were given one menu for 79.90 euros for two and that’s it. there were no photos or explanations of what exactly would be on the plates. there was only lemonade and wine on the menu, when I asked for something hot, the waiter said that this was simply not on the menu today. no apologies, he was looking at me as if this was in the order of things. the atmosphere after was not great. The tables are small and close to each other. some are a step higher and people from above look at you from below and at your table, as was the case in my case, it’s not comfortable. Each type of roll contained avocado, which took away all my appetite. 80 euros for that amount of food was too much. in the normal menu they had dishes for two for 60 euros. didnt expect that service could ruin such a nice food.
