SUSHIMEN in Hamburg

The two of us went to the all-you-can-eat and redeemed the discount via Neotaste. The price of 35 euros plus a drink per person was absolutely fair for what was on offer. The sushi was not only of high quality in terms of taste, but also a visual highlight - the presentation was really beautiful! A big compliment also to our waiter, who was extremely knowledgeable about gluten-free nutrition and gave us excellent advice. A small note: There are only a few places, so a reservation is definitely recommended. This fact also ensures that it is pleasantly quiet - completely different to many other all-you-can-eat restaurants, where things are often loud and hectic. The entire evening was a pleasure and we went home more than full and satisfied. I will definitely come back – thank you for a great evening!

It was a fantastic evening. The sushi tastes excellent. In my opinion, the best in Hamburg. And not just in Hamburg, but in general. The service is super friendly and very flexible. Sushi very tasty, all you can eat is worth it

I have absolutely no idea how this sushi shop could win any awards. (Calling the shop a sushi shop is wrong). If it were possible, I wouldn't give a single star. The waiting time was unreasonable – over 1.5 hours! Some guests even got up and left. The sushi was the worst I've ever eaten: extremely stingy with salmon, the taste was a disaster. When we asked the chef about it, he responded helplessly, stuttered and offered no solution. We ended up leaving the sushi. This store is undeservedly hyped by platforms like Megaspots and Scartaste - a prime example of how fake such reviews can be. You can't recommend this place to anyone in good conscience. Never again!

Absolutely incomprehensible how this store can be rated above 4.5 stars. The sushi is absolutely bad - carelessly prepared, rice was dry, ingredients are not all fresh. Maki beef doesn't work at all. Beef was full of tendon and completely cooked through. Sorry, but once and never again. For this price, rip-off and cheek!

Review for Sushimen Unfortunately, we had a consistently disappointing experience with disastrous service during our visit to Sushimen. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were rudely informed that we only had two hours to eat - we were not given a reason for this. We were brought to a table that was neither set nor prepared, and then we were simply forgotten. After a while we had to look for the only employee in service ourselves because the counter was constantly unoccupied. When we found her, we asked her if we could even order drinks. Afterwards there was again absolute radio silence until half an hour later when she frantically ran past us, looked at us in surprise and suddenly realized: Oh, there are still guests. When we were finally able to place our order, we were repeatedly asked whether the amount of sushi was not too much and whether we could really manage it - a question that we would rather decide for ourselves. We then ordered a few rolls from the all-you-can-eat menu, only to find out later that these were not included in the flat rate and would be charged extra. These roles were clearly stated online as part of the all-you-can-eat offer. Our starters took another 30 minutes to arrive. As a small apology, we were served a second portion of gyoza, which we hadn't actually ordered. Overall, the entire experience was chaotic and uncoordinated, which was also clearly felt by the waiting delivery drivers from Uber Eats and Lieferando - some stood at the counter unnoticed for 5 to 10 minutes and one ended up going through the counter into the kitchen himself because no one was up Shout responded. In the end we paid a total of 150 euros for 3x all-you-can-eat (for which some rolls were charged extra), 3x cola, 1x edamame and 1x gyoza. And to top it off: My sushi tasted strangely like kebab meat. In summary, a very disappointing experience and definitely not a place we will be visiting again anytime soon.

The food was really delicious - the all-you-can-eat is highly recommended and offers an impressive selection of fresh, delicious sushi creations. The service was excellent: super friendly, attentive and with really nice contact. The online table reservation worked smoothly, which made the evening relaxed right from the start. We are simply satisfied and will definitely come back!

One star because zero is not possible. We made reservations 1 1/2 hours in advance so that we would be told in the store that the store was fully booked. They didn't even apologize to us and asked us to leave the store. Rarely have I seen such unsympathetic and uncommunicative staff. We were not offered a solution, nor were we even tried to find a solution in any other way. In summary, I can say that I am more negatively surprised by a restaurant than ever before. If this approach doesn't change, I don't see much of a future for the store, no matter how good the food may be. There's more to running a restaurant than just serving good food. Service is at least as important. Furthermore, it is a disgrace to blame us for a mistake on our own part.

I ordered from Sushimen for the first time via Uber Eats yesterday. The sushi was ok but overall I expected more for the price. In my opinion, the rice was a bit too dry in places and the presentation was (probably) not the best visually due to the transport, which is crucial for the first impression. Unfortunately, the sushi arrived almost 25 minutes later than stated - at least they compensated for the whole thing with a free drink upon request. Maybe I will order here again in the future but the first impression was a bit unfortunate.🤷🏼‍♀️

Sushi itself was good. Unfortunately, there are forever long waiting times between orders. Drinks 0.33l cost €6, which I think is absolutely cheeky!

I recently visited this sushi shop and unfortunately the experience was not what I expected. I found the “crispy rolls” particularly disappointing – they didn’t seem to be freshly fried, which had a negative impact on the taste. The nori sheets were also very tough and difficult to chew, which detracted from the enjoyment of the sushi rolls. The store itself is relatively small, which wouldn't be a problem in itself, but the wait times were still surprisingly long. Overall, I would have liked more freshness and faster service.

First of all: The sushi was very tasty. Nevertheless I can only give 1 star. We had to wait 45 minutes for the food even though it wasn't busy. After the food was brought after 45 minutes, we pointed out that we had ordered an appetizer. The answer was that there was so much going on in the kitchen and that it was still to come. When we were almost finished with the main course, the starter arrived. I then pointed out that I no longer wanted the starter and would not eat it. Still I was charged for the starter. This is neither justified nor customer-friendly. To be kind, you shouldn't have charged for the starter!

Here, average California-style sushi is sold on spasm as luxurious and classy. Neither the rice nor the nori sheet tastes deconstructed. The main thing is to put some overly sweet or salty sauce on it and you're done. Ambiance: shisha bar

Absolutely wonderful! It was our first time but we would love to come back again and again! Best sushi in Hamburg!!!!

I arrived at the restaurant with my family at 10 p.m. and was very hyped for the sushi. We came from a little further away, it should be noted. When we got there, the staff told us straight away that it was too late and that they would recommend us to come at a different time. The reasoning was that it would apparently take too long, I wouldn't make the trip again just to be received like that. At a restaurant nearby, the grill was turned on after work and we even had fresh pastries prepared and served in front of us, although the effort was significantly more than with sushi. Unfortunately I can only rate the service as we didn't have the opportunity to eat. A good restaurant owner should at least welcome his guests shortly before closing time and represent the food, that's my opinion.

There were four of us there. The restaurant wasn't fully booked and we still had to wait about 25 minutes for the drinks alone. The waiting time for the food (for each person it was only sushi) was over 1.5 hours. There was no apology from the staff for this enormous waiting time. There will definitely not be another visit from Us. The quality of the sushi definitely doesn't justify such waiting times.

Unfortunately our order could not be delivered and the person on the phone was very disrespectful. We were yelled at and threatened. I wouldn't recommend anyone to order here. If I could give zero stars I would.

Please be aware before you make the order that they have enough quantity to fulfill it. We ordered a bunch of sushi pieces and 1h later we ordered they called saying they were not able to make the order because they had not enough rice. They gave us the option to cancel or replace the order with burguers? Who orders burguers at a sushi place? We then contacted with Uber customer service, and they called them to ask what was going on. A few minutes later we receive a call from the restaurant again, this time with a huge attitude. Even threatening us that we weren’t gonna get our money back if we canceled, that they had the order ready but just didn’t want to make the vegetarian option and again proposed the strange burguers. In the end, they actually hung up on us and we did end up cancelling the order and getting our money back. In conclusion, if I could give this restaurant 0 stars, I would. They are vegetarian lazy, all men, and no international communication skills (none spoke English). As an alternative, I would recommend Sushi for Friends, that delivered our order in minutes.

This was my worst visit to a sushi restaurant so far. Waiter seemed new and scheduled and stressed. No eye contact with guests when they want to place an order. Drinks empty for over 45 minutes. Wanted to order, no chance. Waited 50 minutes for food. I have to say the sushi was very tasty, but behavior like that doesn't make you want to have guests coming back. We were there last time. All you can eat, you wait forever from round to round because you can only order one roll at a time. In total we were there for 3.5 hours and we weren't full, rather annoyed that it took so long. It's a shame, because it tastes very tasty.

It's a mystery to me how the store can get such good reviews. When compared with Hanami and Mo, the Sushimen clearly and justifiably lose out. Points of criticism: Rolled like a 5 year old - crooked and crooked. Almost fall apart on their own. Not enough rice around the fish - do you REALLY have to save on it? Not enough soy sauce, but super salty. Quickly have a beer.😉 Really few decorative elements and doesn't look great in the black box. Overall, a little too little for the money. Sure, you can go here if you're not allowed to leave Barmbek... But apparently I have to for my sushi experience!

I've tried many sushi shops in Hamburg, but this is by far the best. If the location were Winterhude or Eppendorf, there would be a full house every evening.

Sushi was quite okay and the sushi on offer was also unusual, but the bottom line was that it wasn't anything special... I was probably a bit biased because I got a price that was also hanging outside the door, but it was just normal sushi It really tastes good, so anyone who likes sushi can go there, but it's a bit expensive for what you get... but if you like it and can afford it, you're in good hands there. But as the saying goes... it's not the "burner"...

Sushi top!!! The full menu can only be viewed on a mobile phone, which is simply a stupid solution given the amount of sushi on offer. There were two other tables occupied in the restaurant and our food wasn't delivered until 35 minutes after we ordered. But the quality was top, hence many stars. In the future we will only order and no longer eat on site

Our evening at SUSHIMEN was great! It's the best sushi I've ever eaten in my life. And I like to eat sushi often. 😉 The delicacies tasted like a dream and were absolutely freshly prepared. Every single component harmonizes with each other and it is a great experience to be able to enjoy this. Price performance is absolutely right here! The ambience is also very harmonious and invites you to linger longer. There was no sense of quick processing like in some other sushi shops. In the future, I would like to come back and eat sushi more often. I'm already looking forward to visiting again.

Was there with a friend this evening. Were warmly welcomed and warmly served. The waiter we had with the glasses was open to all questions😊Since I can't tolerate avocado and cucumber, for example, I asked if the avocado could be removed from one roll. They could have also been replaced with cucumber. Gyoza and sushi were prepared really nicely😊I also felt a bit uncomfortable asking if they could call me a taxi. I was also told that I shouldn't be uncomfortable because it's a normal question😅I have to be honest, since I wasn't really that open about asking something, it somehow made me feel better. In everything, the food is delicious, the service is delicious, the ambience is also really nice. The starters were good, but the sushi wasn't recommended at all. We were very disappointed. We ordered four different sushi rolls, which on the one hand looked very greasy and on the other hand looked completely different (much more bland) than shown on the menu. The menu can only be accessed/viewed online using a QR code, which proved to be very difficult for me as I hardly had any network in the restaurant. Overall, the service and ambience were convincing, but the sushi (unfortunately) wasn't. We can't understand the many very positive Google reviews for the sushi at all.

Akzeptables Lokal für Leute die keinen Wert auf Service setzen und viel freie Zeit besitzen. Wir haben dann die Getränke vorab bestellt, nach einer Wartezeit von ca.45 Min (Das einfüllen der Cola in die Becher war mit erheblichem zeitigen Aufwand verbunden) kamen diese dann. Der Tee kam nicht, da nach Aussagen des Kellners dieser leer wäre. Beim bezahlen der Rechnung war dieser aber dann doch nicht leer. Das Essen wurde dann aufgegeben inklusive Vorspeise. Die Vorspeise kam nach ca einer Stunde. Teilweise kamen die ersten kannibalischen Gedanken. Nachdem das Lokal um 22 Uhr schließt, haben wir überlegt, ob wir überhaupt noch essen bekommen. Dieses kam dann nach 2 Stunden auch. Das Essen war an sich gut und die Portionen waren angemessen. Das bezahlen der Rechnung war auch interessant. Keiner von uns hatte die Möglichkeit, sich den zu zahlenden Betrag auszurechnen, da die Preise willkürlich schienen. Ein weiterer Besuch ist aktuell nicht vorgesehen, evtl über Lieferando mal. Hier kann man mittags bestellen, damit man zu abend essen kann.

Das Sushi ist empfehlenswert und war sehr lecker. Allerdings würde ich die nächsten Male nur noch bestellen, da man als "To-Go" eine größere Vielfalt an Menüs hat und man zudem 10% bei Selbstabholung spart. Des Weiteren waren die Getränke überdurchschnittlich teuer...

Großartiger Service, schönes Ambiente und definitiv mehr als ein High End Lieferdienst. Im Restaurant hat jeder Tisch mehr als genug Platz um auch gemütlich bei einer guten Flasche Wein, nach dem Essen sitzen bleiben zu können. Zum Sushi bleibt nicht viel zu sagen, außer - nicht grundlos „Bestes Sushi Restaurant 2022“ Jederzeit wieder 👍👍

Es schmeckt sehr gut aber der Fisch wird immer weniger. Niji tekka hat auf dem Foto viel mehr thunfisch als ich bekommen habe. Gerade mal 1/3 davon, das finde ich für 15€ zu wenig. Außerdem befinden sich undefinierbare blätter unter dem thunfisch. Die sehen wie Brennnesselblätter aus und stehen so nicht auf der Karte. Hab sie runtergenommen, da sie mir nicht schmeckten. Von Schnittlauch habe ich nichts gemerkt

Wir haben Essen zum Liefern bestellt und waren wirklich begeistert von den besonderen Kreationen. Besonders die Rollen mit Safranfäden und die mit Crunchy Peanut haben uns geschmacklich überzeugt. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder dort bestellen.

Ein sehr schönes Lokal in der Fuhle. Der Service war sehr zuvorkommend. Das Lokal ist modern fancy wie man es heute erwartet. Das Sushi war nicht nur toll angerichtet es mindestens genau so gut geschmeckt. Ich komme immer wieder gerne.

Es hat nicht umsonst den guten Ruf. Der Service war wirklich gut und aufmerksam. Die Wartezeit ist etwas lang, aber dafür hat es sich gelohnt. Wir haben noch nie so gutes Sushi gegessen. Schade das es sowas gutes nicht in Berlin gibt.

Eine halbe Stunde vor Ladenschluss noch Sushi to-go bestellt. Super freundliches Personal, das Sushi wurde frisch gemacht und liebevoll/dekorativ verpackt und hat sooo gut geschmeckt.
