Ein wahrhaft japanisches Erlebnis! Im Vergleich zu dem typischen Sushi, das ich bisher in Europa gegessen habe, habe ich hier einen ganz anderen, authentischen Geschmack entdeckt. Absolut köstlich. Die Gastfreundschaft war außergewöhnlich, etwas, das man in der deutschen Kultur leider selten erlebt. Sie sind unglaublich authentisch und wahre Meister ihres Fachs. Ein absolutes Muss in Hamburg! 🫶

Wer authentisches Sushi sucht mit süßem Ambiente ist hier genau richtig. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr angenehm und die Betreiber sowieso. Sushi mega frisch und lecker!

Nach zwei erfolglosen Versuchen habe ich es endlich geschafft, während meines Aufenthalts in Hamburg einen Tisch zu reservieren. Das Restaurant hat mehrere Tage die Woche geöffnet. Das Essen ist wirklich hervorragend. Es war fantastisch, und auch der Koch und sein Servicepersonal waren sehr freundlich. Absolut empfehlenswert für alle, die Hamburg besuchen.

Mit Abstand eines meiner liebsten Sushi Plätze in Hamburg. Klein aber fein, es gibt nur knapp 8 Plätze, also unbedingt reservieren! Authentisch Japanisch, der japanische Besitzer und seine Mitarbeiterin sind super nett und das Sushi ist einfach unfassbar lecker und Preis-Leistung geht einfach nicht besser. Ich wünschte, ich würde näher dran leben und könnte dort jede Woche hin! Arigato gozaimasu!

Ehrlich gesagt, das beste Sushi, das wir je gegessen haben. Der Koch hat die Zubereitung in Japan gelernt, der Fisch war unglaublich zart und butterweich. Die Köche waren überaus nett und zuvorkommend und haben uns sogar kostenlos Extraportionen angeboten, weil sie gesehen haben, wie gut uns unser Sushi-Teller geschmeckt hat. So authentisch und lecker! Vielen Dank für alles!

Das beste Sushi-Restaurant der Stadt!

Klein, aber sehr fein! Und wirklich leckeres Sushi! Wir haben uns für die Überraschungsplatte entschieden und wurden direkt gefragt, was wir am meisten mögen. Haben uns für Lachs und Thunfisch entschieden und waren sehr zufrieden. Je zwei Nigiri mit gegrillem Aal und Yellowtail waren dabei, beide waren sehr lecker. Nebenbei lief typisch japanische Musik, im kleinen TV an der Decke zudem ein japanischer Comic. Herrlich.

Einfach umwerfend! 😍😍😍😍😍 Hiro und Hiroko boten uns ein einzigartiges Erlebnis. Vom ersten Moment an, als wir das Restaurant betraten, wurden wir überaus herzlich und freundlich empfangen. Sie zeigten echtes Interesse an uns, und wir hatten ein fantastisches Gespräch und ein köstliches Abendessen. Die Qualität des Essens war absolut SPITZE! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dies ist bisher mein Lieblings-Sushi-Restaurant in Hamburg. Die Einrichtung ist schlicht, gemütlich und auf ihre eigene Art wunderschön. Es war, als wären wir nach Japan versetzt worden. Das Sushi war wirklich das beste, das ich bisher in Deutschland gegessen habe. ... Wir sind seit zwei Jahren Stammgäste und wurden noch nie enttäuscht. Die Qualität des Essens ist fantastisch, der Fisch zergeht auf der Zunge, der Reis ist perfekt gekocht, das Ambiente, der Besitzer – ich könnte noch so viel mehr aufzählen… Es ist immer wieder ein Vergnügen, hierher zu kommen. Fantastisches Sushi mit hoher Qualität. Wir haben super spontan ohne Reservierung einen Platz für 2 Personen bekommen. Die Atmosphäre ist wirklich wie in einer kleinen Sushi-Bar in Tokio. Der Service ist super. Unbedingt reservieren!

Wir haben uns so gut aufgehoben gefühlt bei den beiden von Kampai ☺️ Die Atmosphäre war entspannt und wir fühlten uns direkt wohl. Das Essen war super lecker, frisch, der Fisch hatte eine tolle Qualität und wir haben am Ende sogar noch zwei extra Nigiri aufs Haus bekommen 🥺 Ingesamt: wir würden immer wieder hin.

Mega geiler Sushi Laden. Einfach nur perfekt. Wer Sushi mag muss hier her. Preisleistung ist der Wahnsinn. Nachteil ist nur das man reservieren muss da nur 6-8 Plätze.

Beste Sushi das ich gegessen habe. Sehr nette Personals. Man kann sich mit Koch unterhalten. Ich empfehle auch japanischer Grünen Tee.

Für mich definitiv der beste Sushi Laden Hamburgs. Liebevolle Besitzer, sehr authentisch - man fühlt sich einfach wie in Japan. Die Qualität des Sushis ist sehr hoch - Fisch und Reis schmelzen quasi auf der Zunge! Man sollte unbedingt vorher reservieren.

Best sushi experience in Germany! I've had several omakase restaurants, some even run by Japanese chefs, including some in New York and Berlin, but this small, cozy place in Hamburg was better than all of them! The fish was incredibly fresh and high-quality. The sushi chef and the staff were super friendly. The trip from Bremen just for the sushi was absolutely worth it!

We visited Kampai for the first time yesterday and were absolutely thrilled. We ordered a platter for two and some nigiri, and everything tasted amazing. The rice, the fish... everything was perfect! I would definitely recommend making a reservation, as there are only a few seats available. We'd love to come back. :)

A very small and cute restaurant. The sushi chef asks you which sushi you like best and prepares it incredibly deliciously. He's very friendly and funny, and the service is also extremely pleasant. You get a 1-hour time slot to eat in, which is completely understandable given the size of the restaurant. Unfortunately, the restaurant only accepts cash payments, and reservations are recommended, as seating is very limited. It's definitely worth a visit! I've never eaten sushi this delicious :D

Such a hidden gem. Super friendly owner and cute small sushi bar... like really small, but in a good way, with character. So better to have a reservation when showing up, otherwise you might be without luck. The quality is tremendous, so far the best sushi I had. The cook is preparing the meals authentic and knows what he is doing. We'll come back for sure. Thanks for the great dinner experience for a very fair price, we enjoyed it very much.

Super delicious! Authentic atmosphere. You have to make a reservation in advance, and then you have about an hour and a half to eat. But this is typical and completely normal.

The owner is super nice, friendly, easygoing and talkative. Sushi is delicious and definitely worth the price. The quality and taste of fish are pretty high. There’re limited space so do remember to make a reservation ahead. Takeaway is only possible after checking with the owner and it might take some time. Will definitely come back again when we visit Hamburg next time.

I'm absolutely thrilled with Kampai Sushibar, a small, charming sushi bar with just a few seats right at the counter. The atmosphere is calm, authentic, and very personal. The sushi is incredibly fresh, perfectly tempered, and beautifully presented. You immediately notice the passion that goes into making it. The nigiri, in particular, was an experience: tender, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. The service is friendly, attentive, and at the same time pleasantly unobtrusive. You feel welcome and in good hands. The proximity to the preparation makes the whole experience a special one. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right; anyone looking for authentic, high-quality sushi will more than find it here. From now on, it's my first choice in Hamburg.

It doesn't get more authentic than this! Such a friendly sushi master and waitress. Very small but perfectly formed! Not only extremely delicious and authentic, but also a great atmosphere with the perfect music that creates the perfect mood. The price is also top-notch for the quality of the fish.

Very friendly owner and delicious sushi. We tried the Kamps special menu and the spicy tuna. They were all delicious. At the end, you even get two flamed salmon nigiri. We highly recommend it. A great start to our first day in Hamburg. And thank you for the wonderful experience.

We’ve been searching for 3 years for a great sushi spot in HH and am so glad I finally found Kampai. The sushi is simple, but high quality and authentic and the chef is a delight. It’s tiny and really feels like a neighborhood sushi spot in Tokyo. Highly recommend!

One of the most authentic sushi I have tried. After this no other sushi in Hamburg tastes the same anymore. It was ridiculously delicious and the hosts super friendly. We even got a couple of treats for free. Will definitely come back.

I went to the concert in the neighborhood. Very nice, lovingly furnished little shop. The owners are very friendly and accommodating and the food is a must try. This is exactly what I was looking for as a sushi lover. Next time I visit Hamburg I will definitely have more time. ☺️

Kampai is the place if you want authentic and good sushi. The shop is super small, but the atmosphere is great. You will be asked about your preferences at the beginning when you order the sushi box and then you will essentially receive an individual offer. The fish is fresh and the owners and employees are so warm and friendly that I chatted with them several times. I very rarely write reviews. But the little shop on the Reeperbahn managed to show me a new world of sushi. With his Tokyo style, the sushi master gets everything the palate desires from the fish. We had a wonderful, delicious evening with nice touches! Reservations are only possible on site or via email address and are highly recommended. The two of us were there on the spot and had to wait another hour. But the wait was more than worth it. My favorite was the yellowtail nigiri. A tip: Find out about the labels of sushi food beforehand! This visit is worth it!

Absolute recommendation for anyone who likes authentic Tokyo sushi. The service is super friendly and after a few questions about preferences they also create a menu. I particularly recommend the flambéed salmon nigiri and the eel nigiri.

I have never eaten such good sushi. Top quality and great prices for this outstanding quality. The shop owner is extremely friendly and works very quickly, you don't have to wait long. I can only recommend this restaurant, I will definitely go there more often. The sushi rice in particular was more than just perfect in terms of taste and consistency. The sushi wasn't too big and fit perfectly in your mouth. It has definitely become my new favorite restaurant. The restaurant has a quiet atmosphere, I really like that it is small, I personally think there is something special about it.

Such a great sushi shop. Definitely the most authentic sushi you can get in Hamburg. Delicious from start to finish. But the best thing about the store: the employees. The boss and his colleague are friendly, funny and extremely accommodating.

I saw this place on Instagram and really wanted to go. We weren't disappointed. The restaurant is very small and decorated in Japanese style. The menu is simple with nigiri and makis. There are some combination menus. We opted for a sample set and a maki roll with salmon. The owner asked for our favorite fish and then prepared the sushi. We also tried warm sake. The rice is well cooked, the fish/seafood tasted fresh. Japanese music was playing in the background. At the end there were two flambéed salmon nigiri with a special sauce (as a little gift from the sushi chef). We were absolutely thrilled with this taste experience. I can only recommend it to every sushi fan. Good sushi without a lot of frills. It was like a little trip to Japan without flying to Japan.

So wow. Where should I even start? This was one of, if not the, nicest restaurant visit I have ever had. (If you can even call it a restaurant) The place is really small with 8 seats, so reservations are required, but I put this experience above any fine dining restaurant I've ever been to. You come into the restaurant from the Reeperbahn and you immediately find yourself in a different world. The sushi chef and the service are incredibly warm. The boss comes to you, asks about your preferences, tells you about his work and you notice that this shop radiates authenticity and true craftsmanship. I've never eaten sushi like this before. It is simple, authentic Japanese sushi because the sushi chef completed 10 years of training in Tokyo and you can tell with every bite how incredible effort was put into this food. From fish to rice. Everything was magnificent. This is not your typical restaurant visit. This is a pleasure. What made this experience truly unique was the way the waitress treated the guests as described above. I've simply never been able to experience something like that in Germany. It was perfect, every expectation was exceeded, I wish the team all the best and I'll be back. Best regards
