A very nice little restaurant with a small menu. The dishes are delicious and the service is very friendly!

Yamato focuses on a few very good dishes. That's better than offering fifty mediocre dishes.

Excellent miso ramen! We went for dinner without reservation but found place right away. The place is cozy and the staff really friendly. They brought the drinks and food really fast. I had a gyudon but it is not the type of gyudon you would expect from a real japanese place, it’s more a western taste adjusted creative mix, and the taste direction is also not so good. The service was really sweet though, so the cook should improve their recipes I think.

Unfortunately, the noodles weren't cooked all the way through. The staff member said they were "designed that way," but in reality, they were just a lump of raw dough. None of the fresh noodles I've ever eaten in Japan have ever been like that. We were very hungry, so we could have been happy with almost anything 😞 but it was still disappointing. The service was friendly, though.

The Tan Tan Ramen was particularly delicious, and it also has a great location and very friendly service. We'd be happy to come back.

We received a very attentive welcome and immediately felt at home. The gyozas, udon noodle soup, matcha ice cream, and the house's own ginger/lime/lemongrass tea were excellent and highly recommended. Everything was very fresh and lovingly prepared. Yamato is definitely worth a visit!

The interior was reminiscent of Japan and the staff were very friendly and attentive, and I could see they were eager to learn and strive to improve the taste of the food.

I stopped by for a quick lunch. The prices on their website must have been for delivery, because the actual menu prices were a pleasant surprise and much more reasonable. While ramen seems to be their specialty, I was craving rice so I ordered a poke bowl. The rice was a bit dry and mushy, but it was acceptable. The toppings were fine—nothing special, but a decent, standard bowl overall. What made it a good experience, though, was the free tea service (just like in Japan!) and the great price of around €10. You can't complain when you get a simple but satisfying meal at that price.

Saw some good reviews, so wanted to try it myself as well. Had the chicken gyoza and edamame to start (both very good), and then had the tonkotsu ramen. The chashu pork was very thin, and therefore lacked a bit of taste. Honestly, just make them twice as thick, it’ll already be so much better. But! The broth was amazing! It looked very thin, so I was a bit skeptical, but it was so rich in flavour!! Together with the noodles it was the perfect combo. Soulfood as it’s supposed to be!

Cute place with good options in the menu. Speedy service, you can sit inside or they also have a couple of cute tables outside. Clean flavours, nothing overpowering, and good quantity of food.

I'll start with the positive. I found the atmosphere quite cozy. The staff was friendly. The food was delicious. There was really delicious free green tea for every guest and a variety of hot sauces, but most of the bottles were almost empty. Of minor drawbacks: There's really little space between tables, which usually means the owners are trying to maximize profits by accommodating as many people as possible at once. However, it can also be a positive, as it means more people can sit at the same time and there's less waiting for a table. While the staff were friendly and answered all my questions, I was the first customer of the day and wasn't greeted after awkwardly standing in the entrance until I said hello myself. Even though I was the first customer, I still had to wait 15 minutes for my ramen, which is far too long for lunch. This could, of course, be due to the ramen being made with good ingredients, but the shop should have been a bit prepared, as I ordered Tonkotsu Ramen, which is a fan favorite. The ramen was quite tasty overall, especially the broth and noodles, but there was a bit too little meat (3 thin pieces) for €13. If I'm craving ramen after work, I might consider this restaurant, but unfortunately, it's not something I personally would frequent. I would still recommend trying it if you like ramen or udon.

Drinks and service were very good. The food, unfortunately, was not. Tonkatsu Curry 1/10, Poke Bowl 4/10, Tantan Ramen 7/10 (okay)

Yamato Small, hidden restaurant with very friendly and attentive service. The homemade lemonade is highly recommended. But nothing beats the broths. We had the pork bone broth and the roast pork broth. 10 out of 10! Very, very tasty. Since I was quite hungry, I also had a rice bowl with warm sushi rice, soy broth, and cold toppings. The combination was super delicious. We would love to come back and recommend Yamato to everyone! Thank you for your delicious food and warm hospitality.

I had the most amazing ramen in Hamburg! The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles perfectly chewy, and the toppings were fresh and delicious. It felt like a warm hug in a bowl. Definitely one of the best ramen spots I’ve tried outside of Japan

This is my last day in Hamburg and really wanted to try some ramen before leaving. So even if I have already had dinner elsewhere, I still visited this place because of its high rating on Google Maps, and thus, some expections. I will start by saying that the service and the chicken gyoza are good. However, as you can see from the photo, there’s a crack on the bowl, which I requested to replace and it was denied. For the safety of the customers and employees, I’m surprised that they still serve this bowl to people. Second, I don’t know if it’s the usual case or it’s just one incident — but some of the noodles were not even cooked through and still clinging together, as I could still taste the raw-ness. I really wanted to love this place as my trip in Hamburg has been really positive overall, but for this price I expect better quality than what I was served.

First ramen, and in such a pleasant and relaxing setting. The decor is a bit kitschy and unspectacular, but that's probably what creates this cozy, authentic atmosphere, along with the very friendly staff. I have no comparison in terms of taste, except for the edamame, which was solid, but the ramen was super delicious 😋 See you again 👋

Great shop, definitely recommend it. The shop's decor is pretty cool, thanks to the One Piece references. 👌♥️ Overall, it's not big here, a bit cluttered, and the decor is rather simple. But it's enough. The restroom is small, but clean - that's the most important thing. The service was quick and super friendly! We would have bought anything from her 🥰 totally great and she was always smiling. The food was delicious! The edamame was very solid 👍 The ramen was also delicious. I've had better ones, but we both really enjoyed them. I forgot to take a photo of the ramen. The lemonades tasted fresh and not like they came from a bottle! Great. And the apple tea was also super delicious. 👍 The matcha ice cream at the end, which one of us had, was a highlight. I don't like matcha ice cream, but they kindly gave us two spoonfuls without asking, so I tried it and it was really delicious! All in all: Highly recommended 👍 It was a good decision to come here.

A fine ramen restaurant. Various bowls with crunchy, fresh vegetables have a delicious flavor. The shoyu ramen with chasu is wonderfully silky and intense. The miso ramen has a strong ginger note and a beautiful dark color. Small but perfectly formed. The service is consistently super friendly. The food tastes fantastic. The price is justified, in my opinion. Good food has its price. All in all, a clear recommendation and absolutely worth a visit!

I had the Don bowl with chicken gyoza, and it was delicious and fair priced. The service is very nice and friendly and the atmosphere relaxed and cozy, with nice details. Really loved it here and will definitely come back and try more dishes :)

We ordered tonkotsu and tantan, but unfortunately, we didn't like it. The broth wasn't as flavorful as we've experienced at other ramen restaurants. The comparatively low price was completely noticeable, both in terms of taste and appearance. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

I don't understand the consistently positive reviews. This isn't authentic ramen unless you've never been to Japan. I ordered Tantan ramen and it was as far away from Tantan as I've ever experienced before. Different color and completely different taste. I've been to various restaurants in Tokyo and Osaka and know what they're supposed to taste like. The peanut flavor that characterizes Tantan was also completely missing. Bitter disappointment. Never again. The only positive thing was the very nice and friendly service. But unfortunately that doesn't change the fact that it's not authentic ramen. I've attached a photo of the Tantan here and a Tantan from Tokyo.

An absolute highlight for fans of Korean cuisine in Hamburg! Yamato impresses with authentic flavors, high-quality ingredients, and a cozy atmosphere. My udon was fantastic – perfectly seasoned, with just the right balance of heartiness and freshness. You can tell the cooking here is done with real passion. The service was also friendly and attentive. I felt completely at home and will definitely be back!

I went to Yamato today and ate udon – and wow, it was really tasty! The noodles were nice and firm to the bite and exactly to my taste. The broth was spicy, but still light - just perfectly balanced. The restaurant is comfortably furnished and the staff is really friendly. I love udon and try them everywhere, but I really found my favorite at Yamato.

Absolutely recommended! Yamato serves authentic Japanese ramen that is otherwise only known from Japan. The Tonkotsu Ramen in particular is to die for – rich broth, perfectly cooked meat and homemade noodles. A small shop with great attention to detail. Will definitely come back!!!🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜

Tonkotsu Ramen was so delicious and tasteful. I've been looking for authentic tonkotsu ramen like in Japan for two years after I left Japan and returned to Germany - and now I've finally found one. This is my favorite ramen restaurant from now on! Highly recommended.

The meat in the tonkotsu was extremely dry. Even though it was a soup, it left my mouth dry. Broth very weak. Noodles way too raw. No recommendation

The staff was very friendly and they let us in during the closing hours like they were about to close in an hour still they let us in and did not hurry us up. That was good. The food though wasn’t as expected.

Unfortunately the taste is not convincing. I often ate tonkotsu ramen in Japan, which has a rich, creamy broth. Unfortunately, the Tonkotsu Ramen here was very watery and tasted more like vegetables. The noodles were way too hard. And unfortunately I was charged more money than the food cost, which I also find very disappointing.

We had two different ramen (shoyu and miso) but neither of us were impressed with it. The broth was not very seasoned and could have had more "character". The noodles were quite tough. The portions were rather small overall and the toppings weren't very varied. The gyoza as a starter were really tasty, but the portion was also quite small (3 pieces). The atmosphere is uninviting, apart from the funny pictures on the wall.

A very nice restaurant with wonderful food. My girlfriend and I were there about 5 minutes before the store opened and we were able to choose a nice spot. 20 minutes later the shop was already completely full of people who were happy about the food
