Everything was absolutely fantastic! We had breakfast at Surfkitchen, and my whole family loved it 🤩 I've been there several times and would highly recommend it.

We're taking a short break here in Hamburg, and we were looking for a good breakfast, which isn't available where we live. After a quick search, we came across this little restaurant, and what can I say? The food was delicious. The portions were generous and prepared with care, so you definitely won't leave satisfied. The staff was very kind and friendly. The prices were perfectly reasonable.

We actually went there two days in a row because we were so impressed with the sandwiches and the service. A truly fantastic restaurant. Lovingly decorated in a surfer style. It's like a vacation within a vacation. The strawberry lemonade was also delicious. The staff were very friendly and discreet both days, yet still attentive. If I lived in Hamburg, I would definitely be a regular. The prices are definitely fair!

BAD place , orded take away, backed potato with chicken, got home and just one whole potato no chicken and a little salat, THEY CHEAT PEOPLE

Very cute restaurant with a beachside theme. Great location next to the water. The young people waitstaff spoke both perfect English and German and ensured a lighthearted welcoming environment. The pancakes with blueberries, erdbeeren, and vanilla were delicious and filling. I also ordered the strawberry matcha which was very tasty. The hanging bacon display was very funny and made a great photo. Everything was very beautiful and clean. Busy for brunch/breakfast on a Saturday but they sat me immediately. Coffee is strong, amount of food was perfect, and it was a great way to start my day!

We stopped in for a drink. The service was very friendly, and you can just sit and relax.

It took a full 17 minutes for a waiter to even arrive – even though staff walked past me several times. I'd barely had the last bite in my mouth when the dishes were cleared away – aren't guests even allowed to swallow in peace, or is the dishes so urgently needed? During the hasty clearing, the cast-iron pan and cutlery fell to the floor – the fork, by the way, was still on the floor right next to the table when I left. When I was paying, I mentioned the incident but only received the standard response that it was busy. Despite leaving a tip, there wasn't even a simple "thank you." It's a real shame – three years ago, I gave this place a much higher rating.

For me, this is definitely a reason to visit Hamburg again. The food was not only super(!!!) delicious, but also very reasonably priced. During my visit to Hamburg, no other restaurant impressed me as much with its ambiance, staff, and food. As soon as I visit Hamburg again, Surfkitchen will be my first stop.

Total unfreundlich und unorganisiert! Wir wollten spontan brunchen gehen, und warteten am eingang. Der erste kellner hat uns gebeten kurz zu warten und dann kam ein anderer schräger kellner typ, der dann einfach gesagt hat «ne ist nicht. Kein tisch frei». Hat sich einfach umgedreht und ist gangen. Total unmøglicher service! Da will man echt nicht sein geld lassen!

Very unfriendly waiter, you immediately feel unwelcome. This guy doesn't fit in at all in HafenCity. You wouldn't even experience such unfriendliness at McDonald's.

Very unfriendly, grubby, "not in the mood" waiter. Sat for 2 minutes and immediately got up and left. Not recommended. Oh, and dogs aren't welcome either, not even outside. Thanks for nothing. You're better off somewhere else.

Despite very friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere, our visit didn't quite impress us. Unfortunately, the menu overview displayed via Google, for example, doesn't match the QR code on the menu. We were looking forward to burgers, but they weren't on the menu. The quality of the food was okay, but unfortunately, nothing more.

Hi, The visit was spontaneous. Dinner was served in the evening, at 8:43 p.m. The kitchen was open until 9:00 p.m. I had to wait a bit. But after ordering, the food (carbonara) came very quickly! 17 euros for that, but delicious, creamy, and with chicken pieces. That's how I felt! Card payments accepted. I can recommend it.

Not even worth one star! We spontaneously sat down in the restaurant! When I kindly asked the waitress if she could please wipe the table, she rolled her eyes! She did so quite annoyed! A short time later she put a reserved sign on the table and said we have the table for half an hour! Of course we got up and left, we've never been treated so unkindly! This lady was visibly annoyed and apparently had the wrong job! We will definitely not visit this restaurant again!

Tables are free, another 4 tables become free, you wait 10 minutes and are turned away because they can't keep up. What a kindergarten. And that in the blazing sun, where they should be prepared for something like that.

For a rather simple establishment, you have to say that the food was very tasty. We ordered 3 pizzas, these were almost the size of a car tire. You also get a slightly spicy dip, which is intended for the edge. The waitress was very nice and often asked whether everything was OK and whether we needed anything else. However, we were often asked what we had ordered. Nevertheless, I can only recommend this restaurant

Absolutely bad experience. We definitely cannot recommend this restaurant. We wanted a table outside or inside. We asked for one of the free tables outside as there were several free tables. Everything inside was even free. The unfriendly waiter didn't even greet us when we said hello and asked for the table. “The table will only be available in 15 minutes” when we heard the other unfriendly waitress who spoke to us “What do you need?!” When we asked for a table inside, she said very abruptly and like a shot that she didn't have a table for 4 people. As I said, everything was free. We had the feeling that we weren't allowed to speak to any waiters here because they seemed very overwhelmed. All in all, super unfriendly and very poor customer service. Would never come here again. LG!

Good food in great surroundings at moderate prices

It was my second visit. Unfortunately also my last. First, 4 people in front of us were served food AND drinks. Which isn't a problem if you haven't been asked for something to drink. When ordering, I asked that no hot sauce be served on my bread. At some point the drinks came, the cup of coffee was more like an espresso. The food was served a little later and was no longer warm. Unfortunately, the brioche was also too dry and crumbly. To my disappointment, the hot sauce, which was generously spread in the middle, was served. Which unfortunately I don't like. After we had run out of drinks and the food was visibly finished, we weren't asked again if we would like anything else to drink, let alone; whether everything was ok and we were satisfied. After no one came, we asked twice for the bill. There too, no question as to whether we were satisfied or needed anything else.

Service was very accommodating, Neapolitan pizza to eat, clean toilets and an absolutely relaxed atmosphere. The wallet is still doing well too. Gladly again! (Oh yes, the dip for the "dry" edge of the pizza, fantastic)

Very rude and uncouth waiter in a cap, worked 04/04/25 Obviously dissatisfied with his job, judging by his attitude towards customers. He advised us to find our own table, but everything on the summer veranda was reserved. At that point the people walked away and he said to us, "Sit there!" (with an angry face) and to the dirty table!

Service was very quick & friendly, food was great, lunch was reasonably priced. We'll be back!

I've been there several times now and will always come back. The food is very tasty and the selection offers a change from familiar dishes. Especially when it's warm, the location is particularly beautiful right on the water.

Small oasis at the end of the Landungsbrücken in Hamburg. Cozy and not too much hustle and bustle. The pizza...very tasty.

Really nice place with amazing view and very friendly stuff! Bagels was delicious and the pancakes with apple and cinnamon from heaven! The young man who served us was very helpful and in good mood! Definitely pay a visit! If I can add something is that they need more variety for kids breakfast!

Very nice place by the water in Hafencity. Very courteous service because I didn't have to wait even though I was able to sit down and order before opening time. Cappucino and vegan bagel were perfect.

Very friendly service. High quality ingredients for the dishes, great location. The only downside... we don't want to be constantly addressed as "Du" by the staff, who could be our children.

Good pizza. Crap service. No one asked if we wanted to come in. We had to flag someone down to ask if we could sit at the nearest table. The first thing they did was complain that we were in the way then ignored us for 20 minutes before we had to fly someone else down to take our order. Somewhat overpriced.

We were there and had already sat down. Even though we had a reservation, the waitress said she canceled our reservation and we have to leave now. Very unfriendly and disorganized. Definitely not recommended.

We were looking for breakfast in Hamburg on a Sunday. Surfkitchen was super friendly even without a reservation. I can only recommend the very tasty bagels. Everything was freshly prepared and served quickly. A cool shop with very friendly staff. Thank you and see you next time you visit Hamburg in the summer. Tina

The three of us had lunch at Surf Kitchen and ordered two pizzas and a salad. The food was very (!) tasty, I haven't had such good pizza in a long time. The dough/crust was amazing! 😍 Now I'm not sure if there is a smaller map in winter? In many reviews you can also see other dishes such as burgers, currywurst, etc., which were not currently available. Only if it were the reason for a visit would you perhaps know that 😃 Service was very good! The staff friendly and accommodating. We felt very comfortable. 😃

Turned away for no reason when five of us showed up on Sunday. Many tables were free. Then the evaluation is easy.

We were there yesterday and were unfortunately very disappointed. There wasn't a big selection on the menu, just pasta and pizza (no burgers, which we were actually looking forward to, or currywurst). In my opinion the pizza wasn't worth €15. Mine was swimming in fat and the dough on all of the pizzas wasn't baked through. The tables are quite close together, but otherwise the ambience was quite sweet. A positive highlight was the dip for the pizza, which was very tasty (very garlicky but therefore great).

Were there at the end of October, no space, they were sent further because there was another branch down the street and no other branch was found.

Price/performance ratio is okay, the ambience is great - you immediately feel at home in the 80's surf setting. Check it out, it's worth it

Had our Christmas party there. Good food, every wish was fulfilled. It was fun 🤩👍🍻

The location and the ambience are very cool. The service was also relaxed. But a loveless bagel with some avocado and two tomatoes for €12 is a lot. My girlfriend had three pancakes with a few blueberries (loveless and without decoration or anything) for €13 is also steep. So eating nothing special but very expensive!

I can only recommend it, I'm already looking forward to the next visit.

Discovered while strolling and based on the clientele, my two boys found it good from the outside. Why, well, it's either chic or rather "exuberant" when the boys are still too young. If you're ignorant, it doesn't seem to be so easy for families with normal incomes to come to Hamburg. In short, the food was great and the way we were treated was perfect! The ambience was rather simple, but it didn't spoil the stay. The prices were affordable for this area. Here I come again! Enjoy your meal. . .

There were a lot of empty tables and we had chosen a small spot where we could park the stroller outside the aisle right at the table. The stroller would not have been in the way of staff or guests - we were still directed to park the stroller at the front of the door. We left the store straight away - it's a shame, it's not very child-friendly. If the store had been overcrowded I would have understood that - unfortunately not at all.

The Surf Kitchen in Hamburg is a simple restaurant with a few seats. The food was very good. Fresh and quickly prepared. My son "swears" it was the best carbonara sauce he's ever tasted. Price-performance ratio is right. The service gets a point deducted because the staff sat in the entrance area for private conversations, not far from the guests. Nothing against private conversations, but preferably discreetly behind the bar and not directly audible and visible to everyone. There is also a point deduction for the ambience. The store was simply too full of decorations for me, too overloaded.

Cool location! We were here for breakfast. I thought the selection was good. The food was delicious, fresh and well prepared. Price-performance is definitely right. Another visit will follow.

Overall, a great experience that I would definitely recommend. However, the pizza doesn’t quite align with traditional Neapolitan pizza. I ordered a Margherita, and while it tasted good, the tomato sauce was different from the usual Neapolitan flavor, the cheese seemed to be Gouda rather than Fioro di Latte, and the dough was not typical. The pizza was delicious, but it shouldn’t be marketed as Neapolitan.

Right in the middle... pure Hafencity. When the weather is nice, it's a great place to enjoy a bit of maritime Hamburg in the sun. The food is good and fairly priced for the location. The mixed drinks were very good: Lillet Wild Berry and Aperol Spritz were mixed very well. Pizza and sandwich tasted good. The pasta was very good. The service was nice and uncomplicated. All in all, highly recommended. No matter whether you want to enjoy a bit of “your” Hamburg or are looking for a pleasant place to take a break while on a tour: you are in good hands here.
