I've been there several times now and will keep coming back. The food is delicious, and the selection offers a change from the usual dishes. Especially when it's warm, the location right on the water is particularly beautiful.

A little oasis at the end of Hamburg's Landungsbrücken (landing bridges). Cozy and not too busy. The pizza...delicious.

Really nice place with amazing view and very friendly stuff! Bagels was delicious and the pancakes with apple and cinnamon from heaven! The young man who served us was very helpful and in good mood! Definitely pay a visit! If I can add something is that they need more variety for kids breakfast!

Very nice place by the water in Hafencity. Very courteous service because I didn't have to wait even though I was able to sit down and order before opening time. Cappucino and vegan bagel were perfect.

Very friendly service. High quality ingredients for the dishes, great location. The only downside... we don't want to be constantly addressed as "Du" by the staff, who could be our children.

Good pizza. Crap service. No one asked if we wanted to come in. We had to flag someone down to ask if we could sit at the nearest table. The first thing they did was complain that we were in the way then ignored us for 20 minutes before we had to fly someone else down to take our order. Somewhat overpriced.

We had the Pizza, Neapolitan style, and it was delicious! Also good was the friendly staff and cosy atmosphere. Much nicer than it looked at fist sight. Well worth a visit.

We were there and had already sat down. Even though we had a reservation, the waitress said she canceled our reservation and we have to leave now. Very unfriendly and disorganized. Definitely not recommended.

We were looking for breakfast in Hamburg on a Sunday. Surfkitchen was super friendly even without a reservation. I can only recommend the very tasty bagels. Everything was freshly prepared and served quickly. A cool shop with very friendly staff. Thank you and see you next time you visit Hamburg in the summer. Tina

The three of us had lunch at Surf Kitchen and ordered two pizzas and a salad. The food was very (!) tasty, I haven't had such good pizza in a long time. The dough/crust was amazing! 😍 Now I'm not sure if there is a smaller map in winter? In many reviews you can also see other dishes such as burgers, currywurst, etc., which were not currently available. Only if it were the reason for a visit would you perhaps know that 😃 Service was very good! The staff friendly and accommodating. We felt very comfortable. 😃

Turned away for no reason when five of us showed up on Sunday. Many tables were free. Then the evaluation is easy.

We were there yesterday and were unfortunately very disappointed. There wasn't a big selection on the menu, just pasta and pizza (no burgers, which we were actually looking forward to, or currywurst). In my opinion the pizza wasn't worth €15. Mine was swimming in fat and the dough on all of the pizzas wasn't baked through. The tables are quite close together, but otherwise the ambience was quite sweet. A positive highlight was the dip for the pizza, which was very tasty (very garlicky but therefore great).

Were there at the end of October, no space, they were sent further because there was another branch down the street and no other branch was found.

Price/performance ratio is okay, the ambience is great - you immediately feel at home in the 80's surf setting. Check it out, it's worth it

The location and the ambience are very cool. The service was also relaxed. But a loveless bagel with some avocado and two tomatoes for €12 is a lot. My girlfriend had three pancakes with a few blueberries (loveless and without decoration or anything) for €13 is also steep. So eating nothing special but very expensive!

Discovered while strolling and based on the clientele, my two boys found it good from the outside. Why, well, it's either chic or rather "exuberant" when the boys are still too young. If you're ignorant, it doesn't seem to be so easy for families with normal incomes to come to Hamburg. In short, the food was great and the way we were treated was perfect! The ambience was rather simple, but it didn't spoil the stay. The prices were affordable for this area. Here I come again! Enjoy your meal. . .

Very nice staff, cool atmosphere and delicious food, both breakfast and dinner.

There were a lot of empty tables and we had chosen a small spot where we could park the stroller outside the aisle right at the table. The stroller would not have been in the way of staff or guests - we were still directed to park the stroller at the front of the door. We left the store straight away - it's a shame, it's not very child-friendly. If the store had been overcrowded I would have understood that - unfortunately not at all.

The Surf Kitchen in Hamburg is a simple restaurant with a few seats. The food was very good. Fresh and quickly prepared. My son "swears" it was the best carbonara sauce he's ever tasted. Price-performance ratio is right. The service gets a point deducted because the staff sat in the entrance area for private conversations, not far from the guests. Nothing against private conversations, but preferably discreetly behind the bar and not directly audible and visible to everyone. There is also a point deduction for the ambience. The store was simply too full of decorations for me, too overloaded.

Cool location! We were here for breakfast. I thought the selection was good. The food was delicious, fresh and well prepared. Price-performance is definitely right. Another visit will follow.

Overall, a great experience that I would definitely recommend. However, the pizza doesn’t quite align with traditional Neapolitan pizza. I ordered a Margherita, and while it tasted good, the tomato sauce was different from the usual Neapolitan flavor, the cheese seemed to be Gouda rather than Fioro di Latte, and the dough was not typical. The pizza was delicious, but it shouldn’t be marketed as Neapolitan.

Right in the middle... pure Hafencity. When the weather is nice, it's a great place to enjoy a bit of maritime Hamburg in the sun. The food is good and fairly priced for the location. The mixed drinks were very good: Lillet Wild Berry and Aperol Spritz were mixed very well. Pizza and sandwich tasted good. The pasta was very good. The service was nice and uncomplicated. All in all, highly recommended. No matter whether you want to enjoy a bit of “your” Hamburg or are looking for a pleasant place to take a break while on a tour: you are in good hands here.

We won't come anymore. Short and sweet: Prices: are mostly too expensive. Staff: Service would rather argue with the kitchen/chef than ask if we want to eat something?! We wanted! Ambiance: very nice Drink: We probably would have ordered something if we had been asked?! All in all, unfortunately not recommended. It's a shame because the restaurant is very nicely decorated.

Delicious food and a beautiful view while sitting outside

I was here 3 years ago, was very enthusiastic back then, but now I'm more than negatively shocked. You look forward to a spaghetti carbonara all day and then get ham and cream spaghetti. More cream than anything else. Instead of pieces of bacon, cook ham in large pieces. This is not carbonara! Any Italian would feel insulted here. The pizza is dripping in oil and practically floating on the plate. I don't even want to start with the cleanliness. Very rustic furniture, cobwebs as far as the eye can see, including spiders all over you. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend it, I won't come here again.

The food was excellent, although quite expensive. The beautiful views make the experience special, but reservations are essential. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired - the staff didn't seem very friendly, and waiters who weren't responsible for our table ignored even short inquiries. Nevertheless, the excellent taste of the food made up for the weaknesses in the service.

Nice to see, three out of four pizzas came at different times and unfortunately the pizzas were really not good.

The waiter with the pigtail told us that the riverside tables "were closed for us" and 5 minutes later, he allowed other customers who had not booked to sit. He came across as very grumpy and rude. I strongly advise against this place for those who want to spend a meal or an aperitif at ease. Let's move on to drinking: warm beer. Place failed from all points of view.

We waren al ruim een uur aan het wachten op ons eten. Terwijl 2 tafels die na ons kwamen al wel eten hadden. toen we naar ons eten vroegen ( nadat de serveerster ons eerst 3x negeerde ) werd gezegd dat het met 15 minuten klaar was. Na 20 minuten kwamen er 2 gerechten( van de 5). De andere 3 kwamen 15 minuten later. Tussendoor is er niet geïnformeerd dat het wat langer zou duren of een broodje oid aangeboden. Ze lieten ons gewoon zitten. De pasta met kip en pittige pepperoni van mijn man ( aanbeveling van de dag) had geen pepperoni. Toen mijn man dat aangaf werd zijn bord weggehaald en kreeg het 5 minuten later terug met wat gesneden pepper ringen erop. Toen hij weer zei dat er geen pepperoni op zat werd zijn bord aangepakt, maar niet verteld wat er zou gebeuren. We zijn maar opgestaan en hebben betaald, minus zijn gerecht. De pasta en ravioli waren verder niet erg smaakvol. De pizza was wel goed. Geen aanbeveling dit “restaurant “

Hip shop in the style of a beach bar. Very nicely done. The service was friendly and what we ordered came quickly. Food was perfectly fine and solid. Price performance was right

The food (bowls) was delicious, but unfortunately the service was very bad. Our reserved table was apparently not free, even though no one was sitting there after 2 hours. Things were brought incorrectly. When I asked that I actually had the cappuccino with oat milk, I was told yes, even though it was wrong.

We got their curry wurst, egg drop sandwich, and pizza. Pizza was chewy and doughy but we would have preferred it crispy. Wiener is nice. Staffs are friendly. Atmosphere of the stall is cosy, especially at night. Waiter looks like mbappe.

One waiter yelled at customers. Another threw up his hands proudly when the online menu did not load. Your problems. We can't help. As you understand, it wasn’t time to eat anymore.

We wanted to eat there with the family on Sunday in a good mood. But would be yelled at by the waiter and given very poor service. So we changed the location and come never again!!!!

Schönes Restaurant direkt am Wasser mit Fancy Gerichten und schön angerichteten Tellern. Leider wurden 2 von 4 Gerichten falsch serviert bzw. es wurden Elemente vergessen. Preis-Leistung könnte etwas besser sein aber ansonsten sehr stimmig.

Food is okay, but prices are way too high (almost €20 for a pizza?). You pay for the location. However, service is terrible - our waiter forgot 3(!) things and instead of taking the orders, he prefers to insult passers-by with “pitchy” comments.

Very nice restaurant right on the water. The new Neopolitan pizzas are super delicious. Light, fluffy with a great taste! Plus an Aperol and the (quite large and very tasty) tiramisu. A little bit of Italy in the Hafencity!

We cannot understand the reviews that praise the food in any way. We ordered a Korean bowl with chicken and currywurst with wedges. For the bowl, rice, edamane, cabbage and indefinable chicken meat were placed next to each other in a bowl and the meat was poured with ketchup. This was in no way tasty and wasn't even snack quality. For the currywurst, the sausage was okay, the wedges consisted of chopped baked potatoes. My complaint about the quality of the food received almost no response.

I had breakfast there, the food was okay, the price was on the higher side. For a glass of lemonade, for example, 7 euros. We paid almost 70 euros for breakfast for two people.

Food was delicious, staff very friendly. Sat comfortably outside in the sunshine with a view of the water.

We weren't served at all, it seemed like the waitress was ignoring us. We then asked if we could order because we had been sitting there for about 15 minutes without anyone taking our order. The staff's response was unfriendly and derogatory. Then we left without ordering anything because that was just too stupid for us. Not recommended

This *food* is just a disgrace. I ordered the Korean Fried Chicken and was extremely disappointed!! The rice tasted extremely like paper/cardboard and the chicken was a complete disgrace, completely soggy and watery. I wonder what you think *fried* means. In addition to an absolute disaster of food, outrageous prices for this food. I advise everyone not to burn their money here!!!!

Lovely food and staff. We had two young children with us and team happy to split currywurst meals to accommodate. Definitely recommend surf kitchen.

The selection of drinks was good and so was the preparation. The location right on the water is of course great - especially when the weather is good. Still quiet and not too crowded. The service was very nice and attentive. She kept coming back to check if everything was okay.

Great views in Hafencity, unfriendly reception, average cuisine, unclear ordering and serving system...

If you want to sit inside, that's not possible.

We ordered currywurst, eggdrop sandwich and korean fried chicken ricewbowl. The best among these dishes is indeed the eggdrop sandwich. Currywurst tasted normal and ingredients seem cheap. It is not worth it compared to the price, but it tastes ok. But, the worst was korean fried chicken bowl. First of all, the chicken is not even fried. I am sure it is frozen kaarage that you can buy from asian store. The chef just warmed it. They didn’t even bother to fry it properly. Secondly, sauce is supposed to be proper korean soy sauce or gochujang sauce, but instead they just use ketchup. As an asian, I wanna cry looking at the dish and eating it, this is just making me sad. Please do proper research and more works if you want to broaden your menu. All in all, their beverages are the best values out of all. I think this place is good just for drinking and enjoying the view. Otherwise, try to stick on what they do best. Customer service is good.

We recently visited Surfkitchen and unfortunately were very disappointed with our stay. Although the ambience scores with a beautiful view of the Hafencity, the culinary experience could not save this impression. At the beginning we noticed that the tables had not been cleaned thoroughly. When I kindly asked if the waiter could clean the tables, he came and cleaned them, but the first bad impression remained. We ordered two bowls – one vegan and one with salmon. When the bowls were served, they overflowed because the plates were far too small. The food itself seemed bland and like leftovers from the house's breakfast menu. The salmon was not marinated at all and appeared to have been placed on the plate straight from the packaging. The dressing was obviously bought and didn't go well with the rest of the bowl, which consisted of lettuce leaves and couscous, which was also probably bought ready-made. The baked chickpeas that were advertised were simply tossed in oil and sprinkled with a little pepper. Overall the meal was a big disappointment. When we wanted to pay, the waiter obviously didn't notice that the bowl was almost untouched - a clear sign that the food wasn't tasty. He didn't ask how we were or why the food was returned, which was further disappointing. Ultimately, you pay here mainly for the beautiful location and the view. It was our first and last visit to this restaurant. Maybe we should have ordered a pizza because it looked good to the other guests. Unfortunately, it's a shame.

Food was super tasty, full points. Service - Had a young waiter twice and was totally satisfied, he was courteous and super friendly. Last time (in the morning), a grey-haired, middle-aged waiter was there and when we sat down outside 5 minutes before opening, he immediately said that it wasn't open yet and we should leave. He immediately said that there were a lot of reservations, when asked where there was no reservation, the answer was that he didn't know and that we should look for another restaurant. His unfriendly manner made it clear that we (family with 7 year olds and grandma) were not welcome with him.

Here you can relax and enjoy delicious pizza with a view of the water. The service is good and the ambience is harmonious.

Food A1, really tasty and really great in terms of taste. Service itself was quite good, food was there within ten minutes. However, if you as a guest experience discrepancies in... If the team notices and sentences are said like “I’m going to stop here and go home”, it’s unfortunately really stupid. May be due to the understaffing. However, a guest should not notice it.

Spontaneously sat on the terrace for a little after work evening. Simple food, but very tasty and simply perfect location and ambience. Plus friendly, uncomplicated and cool service. Definitely recommended!
