Sultan Palast Lübeck in Lübeck

A very nice restaurant. I ordered a doner kebab (€7.90, no complaints there) and was served within a few minutes, even though the place was very busy. Consequently, the order took a little longer, but that's to be expected. Four people serving 10-15 customers really deserves my respect. The restaurant itself has a very pleasant atmosphere where you feel very comfortable thanks to the friendly staff. They greet you warmly and ask every time if you need anything else, making you feel truly welcome. I've been going to this place since it opened, with my parents. A lot has changed, but it's never gotten worse, if anything, it's become more sophisticated. Many thanks to the employees who do such a great job! Keep it up!

Excellent doner kebab. I'd even say it's one of the best I've ever eaten. The doner meat is freshly skewered. The owner is very friendly and continues her father's tradition. Honestly, in all the other restaurants where I've had a mixed grill, it wasn't half-heartedly thrown on the plate. The meat tasted like it had been sitting out for four days... and on top of that, you had to wait over two hours for the food. The bread was supposed to be there, but they only showed you two tiny pieces of bread, and you paid over 51 euros for that!!! I could puke. Never again.

As always, the best kebab in the north and great service that is always polite and courteous.

The doner kebab was very tasty; I can say that one plate was the size of two portions. If you're hungry, you'll definitely be full. If you come for the taste, you're guaranteed to be satisfied. I definitely recommend it.

My absolute "favorite Turkish restaurant" in Lübeck. The food is always very good, and the affordable daily specials are also highly recommended 😋😋 Update 2024 Unfortunately, the chef has apparently changed, and I've now eaten my absolute favorite dish (Alibaba Kebab) for the last time. The filling is simply too cumin-heavy now - too bad... 😔

During our trip to the Hanseatic city of Lübeck, we visited this restaurant in the old town. A very fresh display of vegetables, along with various doner kebabs (veal, beef, and minced beef). I had a plate with minced meat, ezme, and rice. The ezme was homemade and fresh, the meat was high quality, and the rice was fluffy and delicious. The price was reasonable. The food was served quickly. Highly recommended, and I would gladly return.

As "döner connoisseurs" from Berlin, we were thrilled. The welcome was super friendly and warm, with a real love for children, and the portion sizes were overwhelming. The taste was absolutely delicious. If the journey from Berlin to Lübeck weren't so far, we would gladly return. The Turkish tea at the end capped off a lovely lunch in the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

The doner meat and the İskender were really delicious. We ordered pistachio baklava to go, but unfortunately, without consulting us, they simply packed up an old walnut baklava. That was disappointing—especially when you're looking forward to something else. It's a shame, because the rest was really delicious.

The days of Lübeck's best kebab are over. The meat wasn't freshly cut, but rather sloppy in the warming container. Corn, arugula, and the like have no place on a kebab, in my opinion. We ate there and felt quite uncomfortable. Everything was pretty run-down, uncomfortable, and quite dirty. So, all in all, it's not really a place where people enjoy eating kebabs. Unfortunately, the kebab didn't taste good either, so we were disappointed in the end and unfortunately won't be coming back. There are now better alternatives nearby.

Very large portions with plenty of meat. The prices are good. Everything tastes good, and the staff is very attentive. There's seating both inside and outside.

May 27, 2025: Picked up two doner kebabs and were 0% satisfied with what we got! The chicken in the doner kebab was completely raw, and the veal wasn't surprisingly tasty either. Not recommended!

Been here multiple times over the years. Still to date the best Kebab place in Lübeck. It is open throughout the night so it’s always an option to stop by and get a quick bite. Nevertheless, the food is always fresh, the meat has never been dry or stale salad.

I was there yesterday. I've enjoyed going there for a very long time, but now they've lost me as a guest. I have always loved the Sigaraböreks, in my opinion there were no better ones. But what was that? It was just dough, you didn't taste the cheese at all and I come from the catering industry myself, the cheese simply doesn't cost anything to buy. Saving on it is very sad and incomprehensible. Too bad...

I ordered minced meat pita. 0 out of 10, it doesn't taste like minced meat, nor is the bread delicious, I didn't like it at all, it remained as it was, it didn't suit it. We also ordered doner strings, they were not bad. It was a reluctant service.

By far one of the best kebab shops! We drove from Hamburg to Lübeck especially for this kebab and are absolutely satisfied, it was worth it. The meat is halal and tastes really fresh and spicy - you can immediately tell that quality is important here. The portions are generous, the bread is nice and crispy and the sauces make the kebab just perfect. The service is always friendly and accommodating. The best Dürüm ever! Especially because of the curry sauce. Update April 25: we still love the Dürüm and the service is top notch. At least so far I have always been greeted and served in a friendly manner, and special requests have always been taken into account. The counter looks clean and attractive.

The kebab was incredibly tasty – juicy meat, fresh ingredients and perfectly seasoned! Plus a super nice staff. What's particularly great: There's a special Ramadan offer until the end of the month. Absolutely recommended!

The homemade sauces are a real highlight - the bread is also crispy and tastes fresh. The service is super friendly and you are always served with a smile. The portions are generous and the value for money is unbeatable. No matter whether kebab, dürüm or plated dishes – everything tastes excellent. I can only recommend this shop and will definitely come back!

The meat is of exceptional quality, perfectly seasoned, wonderfully crispy on the outside and wonderfully juicy on the inside. You can immediately tell that the emphasis here is on high-quality meat and proper preparation. The bread is also a highlight: slightly crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and just right to perfectly absorb the delicious flavors. The sauces have an excellent taste and complement the meat perfectly without overpowering it. The fresh vegetables also round off the kebab perfectly - crunchy, fresh and in just the right amount. The service is fast and friendly, and the atmosphere invites you to linger. If you want to eat a really good kebab where quality and taste come first, you've come to the right place. Absolute recommendation!

I don't know what everyone has here? I've been eating here for a few months and haven't had a better kebab/Turkish dish in the area. The kebab is simply first class! Juicy meat, fresh vegetables and perfectly coordinated sauces, everything is just right here. The plated dishes are also simply delicious and huge portions. Absolutely recommended! The boss was also incredibly nice and personable and gave me a soft drink :)

The kebab shop is simply a pleasure! The meat is perfect and the selection of fresh vegetables makes every bite an experience. The sauces are also homemade and give the kebab that certain something. They also have new oblong bread and of course the usual round bread. In comparison, the store across the street will never be real competition. You can tell they're trying to cheat using fake reviews, but the difference in quality and taste is simply unmistakable. If you really want a good kebab, come here, everything else is just an attempt to reach the top position. Sultan Palace has been around for over 30 years and the men, especially the boss, do a good job.

I was in this kebab shop recently and unfortunately I have to say that I was quite disappointed. The meat was not freshly cut, but seemed more like industrially finished product, which significantly affected the taste. The typical, fresh taste of a good kebab was missing. In addition, the hygiene leaves a lot to be desired. The toilets were in terrible condition - they were literally falling apart and definitely shouldn't be open to the public. Something like that is simply unacceptable for a restaurant. Additionally, the staff was very unfriendly and spoke poor German, which further deteriorated the entire experience. You come to a restaurant not only to get good food, but also pleasant service. Overall, I can't recommend this kebab shop. In the future I will definitely look for another place to enjoy a delicious kebab and I will certainly find it on Mühlenstrasse.

I have to admit that Sultan Palace has gone down a lot. Other people have been telling me this for a year now. The quality of the food and especially the service have deteriorated. In addition, the employees are unfriendly and have severe language deficiencies. The portions are small and overpriced. I am happy that the old boss has opened his new shop opposite Sultan Palace and surpasses the good old quality that he did before. The difference in quality is clearly noticeable. If it were possible on Google, I would give the store 0 stars!

Unfortunately, the meat is kept warm in a box after it has been cut from the spit. This means the meat is tough, dry and cold. Sometimes we had pieces that were completely raw and not grilled. We're never coming back.

I received great advice at Sultan Mühlenstraße, a birthday with 15 people. Kebabs, chicken skewers, vegetarian food, rice, vegetables, salads, sauces and everything in thermophores upon collection. Very tasty, nice composition, nicely presented, absolutely plentiful and for 20 euros per person, completely okay for us. The birthday child didn't have to stand in the kitchen and was surprised with this delicious buffet. Thank you for the friendly advice and thanks to the Sultan team.

What's wrong with the Sultan's Palace? I have to agree with the previous comments: Unfortunately, the food is very greasy and no longer has the taste it used to have. Not recommended.

This was our first time here and I would come again and again. The kebab was simply delicious! The staff, the cleanliness are just great. We'd love to come back.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our visit to the kebab palace. Our kebab was anything but satisfactory: the bread literally fell apart, the salad was hard to find, and the amount of sauce was simply excessive - even though we made sure to only choose a little sauce. We only had the white and curry sauces, but even with those the kebab was completely overloaded. The result was a soggy kebab where you simply couldn't enjoy the actual taste experience. In addition, the kebab meat was not freshly cut from the spit - even though the shop was not particularly busy. Instead, limp meat from a box was used. Why people don't bother to cut fresh meat directly from the spit is completely incomprehensible to me. That might have saved the court something. The saying also applies to the amount of meat: sometimes less is more. More quality and a balanced composition of ingredients would definitely have been better here. All in all, unfortunately, all that remains is the impression of a carelessly prepared kebab that by no means does justice to the name “Kebab Palace”. Unfortunately we cannot recommend the store.

We ordered two mixed grill plates and the meatballs (köfte) were rubbery and the chicken and beef skewers were burnt and dry. The only thing that was hot were the fries. Salads and starters were just good. Another order was kebab casserole and it was so salty we couldn't get two forks. So many mistakes could be made with a 2 course meal at a table for 4 and we were a customer traveling hungry from 300km away. When I showed it to the waiter, he apologized and left and the boss came. And what he told us was that he had sold a lot of these plates today and had not received any complaints... and he handled it very negatively, even though he saw the burning chicken and the salty food. We asked him to at least bring doner kebab because we hadn't finished the food on the table. it tasted good. Of course we paid for the food we didn't eat and received no apology. As the owner of a restaurant with a capacity of 100 people, I would not serve this food to the customer, and even if I did, I would apologize and make amends.

The doner kebab is delicious, the employees are very nice people, we chatted a lot since we are from Turkey. May God grant us a lot of profit.

I really enjoyed eating there, but I haven't enjoyed it there for a long time and it has become very expensive. It feels like it's getting more expensive every few months. I had something to take away, xxl kebab with veal but I couldn't finish it, the meat was just too fatty and the meat tasted different than before, so for me it was all over for now :(

What did you do with Sultan Palace!!! I've always eaten there for more than 10 years. The kebab was really tasty, even homemade food and for a few months it's just been rubbish..!!! Never again!!!
