Subway in Dortmund

We weren't served/weren't allowed to order. The clerk told us it was too busy, we already had a lot of orders. They were stressed. Thank you very much. Subway on the B1, last time. Disgusting!!!

The voucher code didn't work, even though the website said it was available at this store. There wasn't a single employee around to ask. A dead store.

Behind the counter are two guys who, despite their young age, seem disillusioned and almost lifeless. One, without looking up, grunts a weak "Hello" as we come in. I go to the bathroom, where there's no paper in the dispenser by the sink, a few shredded toilet paper rolls in the stall, scraps of paper on the floor, and bits of poop in the bowl. Slightly disgusted, I step outside again, refraining from ordering, unlike my daughter, who gives the place another chance and taps on the display. Her order is number 34. On the display under "in progress," only 33 appears. We wait and let our gaze wander around the dining room: chairs and tables are somewhat jumbled together, the floor is littered with crumbs and larger pieces, framed by a loveless and soulless interior design. The guys behind the counter continue to make a baguette in slow motion. A young woman with a look that seems to have seen it all joins them and disappears shortly after. The next customers tap the display, their order appears as "35" under "in process." Our 34 didn't make it. We hesitate briefly, then leave. Maybe I should have complained. But then I thought, wait a minute, this is about food, an activity whose enjoyment is based on hospitality and appetizing taste, and my hopes for an improvement in these conditions have apparently been lost between wrinkled jalapeños and artificially shimmering teriyaki. Along with my desire to ever step foot in a Subway again. Oh well.

I've been there four times now and I don't think the sales staff have enough knowledge of German to read my order correctly from their monitor. There's always something on it that I don't want and today the chicken teriyaki was missing the chicken, which is disgusting. If I didn't live so far away, I would have taken the sandwich back to throw it at the window. If it were possible, I would give it zero stars.

We've been stopping by here every now and then for years on our way to or through Dortmund. It's very conveniently located on the way to the A44 heading east. What's really positive is that the branch has been renovated and now looks very attractive and modern. You can order at the terminal, which really simplifies the ordering process. The staff were also very friendly. We'll be happy to come back.

Subway is becoming more and more advanced. They now have these terminals, and you can order via the app (I think).

Overall everything was very dirty, whether during the week or on a Friday at 8 p.m.

I got there around 9:35 p.m. The place is open until 10:00 p.m. While I was ordering, an employee with messy hair came out of the kitchen and told the waitress, "Takeout only." Seriously? I asked. She replied, "Yes, we have to clean everything first." There were probably about 10 more guests coming in after me. My intention was to eat at the table and not on the hood of my car. At 9:57 p.m., I might have understood...really weak...

During my visit today (June 20, 2025), I noticed that all the employees were wearing gloves. That's fine. But if I accept and dispense cash while wearing the same gloves I use to prepare food, it makes absolutely no sense from a hygiene perspective and is far from what you learn in a hygiene training course.

Today was my first time ever at Subway – as a tradesman from Kassel, I often find myself traveling to other cities. This time I went to Subway in Dortmund on Westfalendamm. I had no idea how things work at Subway, but the staff were super friendly and helped me right away. Thanks again for the great recommendation – the baguette was absolutely delicious! I'll definitely stop there again next week.

My wife and I bought 4 cookies there. Instead of just handing us the cookies, the boys just continued working until I said something. We got the cookies and went home. At home I discovered that we received 2 reasonable cookies. The other two cookies were just crumbs. Very bad number.

Best Subway restaurant far and wide However, ordering terminals have recently been set up. On the one hand, their sensor works very unreliably and on the other hand, the error rate is greatly increased because customers and employees simply no longer talk to each other. This works perfectly for competitors with standardized products. When preparing subs according to customers' individual wishes, a terminal is not a solution. Preparation now takes even longer than before. Otherwise, I announced the ingredients for three subs at the same time so that one employee could fill them in one go. Now every single ingredient of every single sub is laboriously read off the screen while some desperate customers indicate what they actually wanted to click on. However, this is now the case for many franchisees. However, I cannot see that this helps with the skills shortage. Since the prices have risen exorbitantly, I hope that the employees in particular will benefit from this.

Subway again after a long time and completely disappointed! The subs were so well but the crowning glory were the lattice fries. I also complained about this wobbly mass to the nice man behind the counter. I said they're really bad, you can't eat them! To which the answer came: yes, we know that, but we only warm them up in the oven. Great!! It was also intense that the nice gentleman's financial problems were discussed for more than 25 minutes! I now know that he has to pay rent, utilities, food and drinks and the lawyer. Unfortunately I can't tell you why he needed a lawyer!! Sorry, that was more than bad! A tip for the owners!! You have stairs in front of the door! It would be great if you freed them up because they were really smooth. Because if it is below 0 degrees the water can freeze!! Just a tip

The sandwiches were delicious as always and the service was friendly, but what happened to the decor? Unfortunately, the subway is now only half as big, with uncomfortable seating and a lot of gray. The atmosphere to eat there is no longer pleasant. We especially miss the second rear part of the Subway with the warm colors and large seat cushions, which are no longer available. Since the cozy decor was the main reason for my returning visits, I will not be returning in the future.

One of the worst subs we've ever eaten. Soggy and when I opened it everything fell out...the bread didn't look like it was baked but was so soggy. Tomatoes pale and without taste. Chicken was cold despite being over baked. Maybe the oven was broken?!? Comfortable is different...all the tables were dirty, it wasn't full and there were 3 employees behind the counter. Someone could have cleaned the tables.

Attention: even if the Subway website says that vouchers can be redeemed here, they are not.

I pass by this branch (only) once a year for work. The redesign is not my thing. When we ordered at the terminal, the two employees served my two companions and I quickly and friendly. All in all we had a delicious meal.

It's just fast food and everything is as expected. The staff was quick and perfectly fine.

It's positive that you can order in peace at the terminal, as there are a few decisions to be made. Unfortunately, the employee who processed our order wasn't able to do this: Although his colleague asked him if he had put the extra cheese on the chicken tandoori, there was no cheese on it at all... The fact that the system doesn't recognize that a loaf of bread is sold out could be a problem with the system or a lack of input from the employees - I can't decide that... Hope this was a one-time blip.

Food standard subway nothing to complain about. But slowly...you could grow the grain yourself, process it into flour and bake a baguette And you would be more full.

A few years ago it was a regular stop for me for quick, good food, simply because of the lovely atmosphere. Now docked again after a long time and was completely shocked by the renovation work in the restaurant. Now the charm of a German railway waiting hall reigns here. It used to be much more charming. Well, just take away then. Maybe think again about the room concept and furnishings. Otherwise: as always, a friendly service and customer-oriented team of employees. Thanks for the service 👍🏽

No more bread at 8.30 p.m., although opening hours until 10 p.m. Staff sometimes rude.

The ingredients are fresh and the staff tries hard, although it's difficult at peak times. The ambience is partly redesigned, but mostly the back area is closed, although more space is needed.

I really like Subway! Fresh ingredients, lots of choices that I can put together and combined according to my wishes.💕. This location is convenient on the B1 with parking directly in front and behind the restaurant . The are currently renovating the interior and it is looking much more attractive and promises to be an even better atmosphere for in-restaurant dining.

The bottom line is that I have to give it 1 star, it's not deserved. Zero would be appropriate. Not recommended!!

It's hard to believe that you can and have to slow down on the B1 to get to this subway, but that's exactly how it is. I really like the inconspicuous, but not that small shop. The crowd is very pleasant because of the neighboring garden city residents and the predominantly business people and that's why I eat my Italian B.M.T. preferably there. The Subway employees put a lot of effort into explaining how it works to a few first-time customers today. This is the weakness of all Subway franchise stores; If you don't know the map and don't know how things work, you can unfortunately create a small traffic jam. But the employees handled it very sympathetically. The store was very tidy and clean. Definitely a recommendation. In my opinion, things don't run as quickly at the other branches in Dortmund as they do here.

I really don't know what happened to the restaurant. You want to order something and something is literally forced upon you. What's so difficult to understand when you say you want the sub like in the picture only with extra cheese. They try to explain to me that I have to put it together myself. Repeat myself again politely like in the picture only extra fish cheese. Yes, then you have to put it together yourself because these are predetermined. Then said again, put it together for me like in the picture, just extra cheese. Yes, it doesn't work like in the picture. Just think to myself, why doesn't this work? ? Is there something else on it? No, please just with extra cream cheese as in the picture. After a minute of discussion, he finished it. The next waitress carelessly put a touch of everything on your bread. At the end the checkout shows €7.29 for a touch of sub. So increasing the price is one thing, but increasing it rapidly to 7.29 for 3 bites is simply no longer realistic. Well, if you have 3 waitresses standing there on a Saturday afternoon where it's dead, you probably have to raise the prices like that. The days of 3.99 for 15 cm are clearly over, but I can't see that being twice as much anymore, so Subway is the next thing I won't be visiting anymore and I don't care if they go bankrupt. Because that's really going too far. The sub is simply handed to you without napkins, without a basket or plate if you want to eat there. Of the 8 tables at the back, 4 are full of crumbs and sticky, but three of them have legs in their stomachs. No, sorry for me, never again.

War mal wieder da... der Service war bei der Auswahl sehr freundlich und hilfbereit. Pulled Chicken mit Allerei, das Sesamsandwiche frisch, fluffig, knusprig, allesinallem sehr lecker, der Preis angemessen, komme gerne wieder. Ps. die Treppe ist etwas hoch.

Unglaublich teuer war für 2 kleine Baguette musste ich 23 € zahlen ….

Essen war lecker und alles andere war auch gut.

Das Restaurant ist immer dreckig: Essensreste befinden sich stets auf und neben den Tischen. Das Klo ist teilweise so verdreckt, dass es unbenutzbar ist. Der Getränkeautomat wurde abgeschafft und die Preise erhöht. Lediglich die Essenszubereitung und -ausgabe macht einen sauberen Eindruck.

Subway. Ja wer kennt es noch nicht. Eine praktisch unendliche Auswahl Möglichkeit an Belag. Angefangen mit dem Brot. Dann der Haupt Belag, also chicken oder Fleisch oder salami etc. Dann der Käse drr überbacken wird. Danach noch Salat und Gemüse wie Gurken, Tomaten, Zwiebeln etc.. Zum Schluss noch die Soßen... Bei der vielfalt bekommt man in jedenfall was zusammengestellt was einem schmeckt. Besonders sei vielleicht erwähnenswert das die Brote kaum krümmeln. Das ist extra gewollt. Das Gemüse ist frisch und knackig. Man hat ein leckers Baguette mit viel Extras und dafür finde ich geht der Preis. Immer wieder gerne.

Essen seit Monaten regelmäßig bei Subway und das ist mit der schlechteste Standort... Service sehr unfreundlich, wenig Salat auf dem Sub, Jalapenos vergessen, Papiertüte musste ich dreimal nachfragen, Kekse klein und Zutaten nicht richtig verrührt...man hat die Zuckerkörner gespürt

Das Personal ist immer sehr nett. Ich muss selten länger warten. Subs werden gut belegt und es wird immer auf extra Wünsche eingegangen. Leider fehlen immer wieder irgendwelche Zutaten - aber, wenn leer dann leer. Kann man nichts dran ändern. 😅😅 Schade finde ich, dass es in keiner Filiale mehr Schafkäse gibt. Ambiente in Ordnung, aber später am Abend wird der hintere Bereich immer gesperrt - das finde ich nicht so toll, weil man dann vorne sitzen muss und von jeder Laufkundschaft immer abgestarrt wird.

Ein Franchise, das eingehen wird. Was aber nicht am freundlichen Personal oder dem ordentlichen Essen, sondern am schlechten Marketing liegt: Nicht immer beste Lage, kein lebendiges Angebot. Hier zum Beispiel kaufen zahlreiche Kunden ihr Mittagessen, der Laden bleibt aber meist menschenleer, für abendliche Kunden liegt er zu weit vom Schuss. Zur Qualität: Mir schmeckt's und manche Varianten sind kalorienarm.

Absolut inkompetenter Laden. An einem Sonntag gab es zwei Stunden vor Ladenschluss ein Drittel der Zutaten nicht mehr. Die Mitarbeiter wirkten unmotiviert, waren wenig freundlich und die Seife auf den dreckigen Toiletten war auch leer…

Richtig schrecklicher Subway. Um 20:15 Uhr schon das meiste nicht mehr verfügbar (nicht mal normaler Blattsalat und nur zwei Brotsorten). Personal wirkt nicht sehr kompetent, Hygiene wird dort auch eher klein geschrieben. Letztes Mal dort gewesen.

Unfreundliches personal und miserable zubereitungsstandarts. Zweimal das gleiche sub bestellt, zeitgleich von zwei leuten zubereitet und beide gänzlich unterschiedlich schlecht. Lieblos zusammengeklatscht, falsche zutaten verwendet obwohl man vorher gefragt wurde, eins fasst ohne Sauce, das andere drin ertränkt.

Ein gut geführter Subway. Wenn es mal schnell gehen muss, dann halten wir hier gerne kurz an. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett und immer gut gelaunt. Die Zutaten sind immer frisch und lecker. Hatten noch nie Pech, wenn wir hier Essen geholt haben. Auch wenn der Laden immer gut besucht ist, geht die Zubereitung immer schnell.

Das Essen ist wie immer top. Genauso wie der Service. Nichts zu bemängeln.

Keine Servietten, es wird mit Refill der Getränke geworben obwohl dies seit der Corona Pandemie nicht mehr gestattet ist, laut Mitarbeiter. Dies ist ein vortäuschen falscher Tatsachen.

Grill-Streifen auf dem Fleisch werden bei der Produktion angebracht, damit es besser wirkt, komische Praxis

Ein Subway, wie man es erwartet. Die Subs sind immer lecker, frische Zutaten und gutes Brot. Vernünftiges Servicepersonal, akzeptable Preise, insbesondere das Sub des Tages, einziges Manko ist die Tatsache, dass es keine Refill Station mehr gibt, sondern nur noch Flaschengetränke.

Der Mitarbeiter Prav hat mir heute seinen Spezial-Fajita-Sub gebaut. 9,8 von 10 Punkten! Super Teil, sehr scharf und gleichzeitig creamy. Ich hab’s nicht geschafft, obwohl ich ein Big Guy bin.
