Strandläufer in Heiligenhafen

Fried fish roll for €8.50 was a disappointment. The fish wasn't much bigger than a fish stick, the taste was good, but very, very little.

This is our third time on holiday here and we always look forward to seeing the sandpipers. In my opinion, this is the best fish sandwich I've ever eaten. It is made with love and has plenty of toppings. And not as zero eight fifteen as with some other better known ones, without naming names :) we always enjoy coming here and can only recommend it to everyone 😘 the team is always super nice.

So if you can't get enough here😌 The Pinsa(s) were very well topped and really tasty 😋

We happened to stop here while we were walking and treated ourselves to coffee and hot chocolate. And after looking at the map we decided that we would come back in the evening. We had pumpkin soup, baked potatoes and a pizza. The food was delicious. And everything homemade. What also needs to be said is that the sandpiper is a self-service restaurant with very good, friendly and chatty service. Thank you for the lovely time with you.

We found our freshly prepared fish sandwiches with pollock very tasty and visually very appealing. :) If we are in Heiligenhafen again, we will come back :)

Super nice staff. Everyone is treated like a regular guest! The food is always freshly prepared, so you are happy to accept that it will take a while. In the summer you can sit outside, but there aren't that many seats inside.

The fried fish roll was my favourite! And the fish soup was the best. I absolutely loved the food and we had beer with our meal. I can’t wait to go back there. No service, which is pretty normal for the area. You have to order food at the counter and fetch when ready.

Guys, today we went to the Greek restaurant next door after eating a stop at the Sandpiper and drank one of the best mulled wines there, homemade and very tasty

Can someone explain to me the pricing policy for a portion of French fries???? 5 euros ???? METRO 2.5 kg of fries around 4 euros for gastroware and 10 liters of frying fat 12 euros. Maybe the price of electricity??? 23 cents per kWh. Personnel costs perhaps, I estimate an hourly wage of 40 euros!!!!! I have no idea, explain it to me. The food may be good and the rent is probably high, but 5 euros for a few fries?! :-(

I'll start with the staff, they are super friendly, very attentive and not intrusive. The food is amazing, everything is freshly prepared, you wait a moment but you are happy to wait because it is fresh and tasty, the portions are completely sufficient and the price is right. Dogs are welcome at Sandpiper. Everything is clean and that is important. We can only recommend it. Barrier-free. The staff and boss are funny and a lot of fun.

Price/performance doesn't match. For scrambled eggs made from 4 eggs, 2 slices of salmon, 1 really cheap roll!!! (There were no grain rolls or anything similar) and I had to pay 20 euros for a cup of coffee. This is a rip-off even in this day and age!!!

Here you can get delicious fish sandwiches as a little refreshment. Otherwise there are also large dishes such as pinsa, schnitzel, etc.

This is a better takeaway. Prices in the higher segment. A bratwurst without bun, mustard or ketchup €6.50, baked roll €1 additional and a splash of mustard or ketchup €0.50 additional. A portion of fries €5. Not a portion to fill you up!!!

Food was really good. Service perfect. There was even a free drink from the boss.

Went to dinner at the “Strandläufer” again today. As a starter, a “house salad” and a fish soup. Then a lasagne and the plaice fillet with fried potatoes. The staff is very attentive. All an absolute recommendation and a must for your next stay.

A very good self-service restaurant. The landlord and his team are super nice and attentive. There are a lot of different dishes to suit all tastes can still vary. The food is tasty, prepared and served quickly and nicely. Breakfast is also offered. It is also really cozy there and some beach chairs set up there invite you to relax. I always enjoy going there and will definitely recommend it to others.

I had several excellent fish sandwiches and also some drinks here on vacation. The food was great and the staff was very friendly. There is a great water playground right next to it, which means you can enjoy your meal and the little ones can play. Recommendation!

This is the fourth time I've been to Heiligenhafen. And the Sandpiper was my choice from day one. Very nice service and the innkeeper treats you like you've been a regular for years. The food is incredible, freshly prepared. I can also highly recommend the fish rolls. For me there is nothing else..

The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The food was really tasty and freshly prepared. Schnitzel, fried potatoes 😋 potato pancakes, applesauce 😋 Pinsa Tonno and salami 😋 We were there several times and were more than satisfied. Price/performance ok. Location is also great. At least if you are traveling with children. Next door is a great water playground 💦 We can recommend the restaurant 99% of the time! Sunny greetings ☀️✌🏼

Rarely has it been so well managed, despite self-service!! Great staff, great location and great food! We were there for a week and every evening we were drawn to the sandpiper because of the super friendly staff!! (Even if it was just for a final drink) we are looking forward to our next vacation in Heiligenhafen and the first-class hospitality at Strandläufer!!!

I was in this restaurant twice during my 4-day stay in Heiligenhafen - that says a lot. Super lovely staff and the Pinsa is absolutely amazing! The Tonno Pizza in particular is a dream. I will also be a guest on my next visit here. Thanks for the great experience! Even for large orders ;-)

The best food in the area! You can have pizza (Pinsa), as well as fish, fries, pasta, baked potatoes, etc. and everything tastes home-cooked and fresh! Very sweet & lovely staff. Even if it is designed for “self-service”, they often come to the table.

My wife and I ate fish here. My wife's allergy was taken into account and everything was taken into account to our complete satisfaction. Felt very well taken care of and were treated kindly. We'd love to come back, including Leni our dog. 😃

Great restaurant, all dishes are highly recommended, one tasted better than the other. Today we had the world's best pinsa, generous topping with fresh lemon and parsley. Simply amazing. If you're feeling hungry every now and then, we highly recommend the freshly prepared fish rolls (with several types of lettuce, tomato and cucumber). Everything is simply delicious 😋 we'll be back!

Food arrived quickly, but could have been warmer.

We ordered coffee and cake, coffee was delicious, cake (1x apple cake, 1x cocoa cake) unfortunately didn't taste good at all... My question as to whether there was alcohol in the cake was answered in the negative, cocoa cake still tasted strongly of alcohol... Ambiance was ok , but we won't be coming back.

If you like it rustic and like sitting in a beach chair, this is the right place for you. We like it...

Good home cooking, price performance is ok. It's a shame that it's self-service here, I think a friendly service person would improve the whole thing, but overall it's a cozy shop with a nice terrace. I could now add the fifth star after a really good Whitsun breakfast with really great service at the table. Great value for money

Central location next to mini golf. Only a few tables indoors, self-service, you have to clear up yourself, more of a snack bar than a restaurant. The pasta dish was only lukewarm. Fish roll (fried fish) was okay. Service friendly, but stressed. Special request (extra sauce) could not be implemented. The food was ready quickly. Small shandy 0.3 = €3.80

€12 for a currywurst fries with mayo (€6.50 CW, €5 fries, €0.50 mayo) is not only cheeky, but almost 200% of what you pay anywhere else in the world. For €6.50 you get 10cm of currywurst... The €5 portion of fries is neither covered in gold nor can it perform tricks. What it is is clear. Rip off...you know.

Went to the Strandläufer spontaneously today, super nice staff and a nice location. I was very pleased with a homemade vegan vegetable meatball. Unfortunately, up here in Heiligenhafen you often only get ready-made products for vegans. That was a really great surprise with a very tasty beetroot and rocket salad - I'll be happy to come back It’s also a very dog-friendly place.

Traditional ambience in the evening, friendly staff and very good food. I can recommend it.

Warmth for the children too, good food, a feeling for good wine and champagne characterize the Sandpiper in summer and winter! We are grateful - especially for the beautiful dishes at Christmas time!

We only stopped in for a drink - to warm up and ended up staying for almost 3 hours. The food left and right looked very good. A lot of things were also picked up outside the house during this time, which raises the suspicion that it must be good. Ambience rather better snack bar, food standard restaurant. For me therefore #imrant. But what really needs to be emphasized is the absolute warmth of the innkeeper. You feel direct and more than welcome. Huge thanks for that!

The blonde waitress is a blatant boor who knows no personal boundaries - typical Russian style. terrible atmosphere, service and unhygienic conditions, NEVER go here. I want to express this lack of service - this place is the limit in your life! 🤡

Das Essen ist wirklich lecker und frisch zubereitet. Die Bedienung ist nett und freundlich. Zum Empfang gibt es einen Glühwein aufs Haus. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist völlig ok. Die Sanitäranlagen sind sauber. Wir können den Strandläufer nur weiter empfehlen.

Sehr leckeres Essen. Das Ambiente ist besonders am Abend richtig gemütlich.

Wir haben gut gegessen, ist Selbstbedienung aber es klappt gut. Essen war top und es gab noch einen Schlenterschluck.

Bestes Restaurant von Heiligenhafen. Kann ich nur empfehlen. Auch Sonderwünsche werden erfüllt. Gerne wieder!
