"Imperial breakfast with a sea view and the sound of seagulls - The Strandhotel Glücksburg" When I first entered the Strandhotel Glücksburg, I felt as if I had accidentally stumbled into a cross between a Norwegian fairytale castle and a Hanseatic dream. The facade itself screams: "Even the emperor would have vacationed here – if he had known Tripadvisor." Historical note: The hotel was built in 1872, presumably because someone thought the view of the Flensburg Fjord was too beautiful to be left to the fish alone. Rumor has it that Crown Prince Friedrich Wilhelm styled his mustache here in the North Sea breeze – and that the mattresses were already pleasantly imperial back then. Inside, it smells of wood, fresh northern air, and discreet elegance – in other words, a place where you can order your third Prosecco for breakfast with a clear conscience. The staff is so friendly that I had to check several times to make sure I hadn't been accidentally adopted. They say "Moin" with such conviction, as if they had invented it. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired – unless you're craving currywurst at seven in the morning. But who needs that when there's homemade jam, fresh salmon, and croissants so French they almost whispered "Liberté, Égalité, Frühstück" to me. Conclusion: The Strandhotel Glücksburg is a place where history, elegance, and a healthy dose of North German serenity go hand in hand – probably with white gloves. If you've always wanted to vacation like a Danish prince (or at least like his charming cousin), this is the place to be. Just listen to the seagull – it knows its stuff.

SUPER BRUNCH on Mother's Day. Here's a sample: oysters, vitello tonnato, smoked fish variations, a colorful salad buffet, Arctic shrimp cocktail, Husum roast beef with rosemary jus, chicken breast with Parmesan sauce, panna cotta, crème brulée, and profiteroles filled with chocolate mousse. The staff was very attentive. The food was excellent and everything was freshly prepared. The quality was very good. What was missing was a small cheese buffet. We would gladly return to the beautifully decorated Felix Restaurant.

This is such a lovely hotel. Amazing service, staff is super helpful, smiling and welcoming. Location 10/10. Breakfast buffet was super tasty and various! They even made me a vegan plate, which I really didn't need at the end because of so much variety foods offered in buffet. Wellness is also an experience for itself - not crowded at all - super intime, clean, they had 4 different saunas, place for rest. Will definitely come back. Amazing for a romantic getaway!!

We stayed at the hotel over Easter. We really liked the location and the rooms. However, dinner at the Hotel Felix was not at all: we were seated at a table near the kitchen. The greeting from the kitchen came with the starter and the bread (the table was full). We had to wait almost an hour for the main course (although it was very tasty). While we were eating, breakfast was already being set up around us with a loud clatter. When we told the restaurant manager about our displeasure, he quickly wanted to "fob us off" with a free coffee. We rejected that and then we just said, with a malicious grin, "You don't get a second chance to make a first impression." We weren't asked for new drinks during the 1 hour waiting time. This is definitely not possible for a house in this price range. When we checked out, we were assured that the hotel manager would get in touch. To date there has been no response. At breakfast we also found it a bit strange that you had to pay 8 euros for a fresh egg dish (omelette). I have never experienced that in a hotel in this price range. Conclusion: Location and rooms are great, service (with the exception of breakfast, which is very warm and accommodating) in the evening in the restaurant and dealing with criticism can be improved greatly

We stayed at this hotel over the Easter holidays. The service was very friendly and accommodating right from the start and there was even a little gift from the hotel at Easter. The buffet offered a large selection of muesli, cold cuts, jams and all kinds of juice and coffee specialties, including oat milk. One drawback at the buffet, however, was the rolls: there weren't fresh rolls available every day and the baked alternatives were sometimes very small and sometimes already hard. A 4-star hotel should definitely provide fresh bread rolls, as in my opinion the price for breakfast is too high with only frozen food. The additional pancake station was definitely a highlight. The room with a sea view also left nothing to be desired. It was very clean and well maintained and there were hardly any noises to be heard from neighboring rooms. All in all we had a really nice holiday.

We had our wedding dinner on April 12th at the Glücksberg Hotel in the Felix Lounge - and it was simply perfect from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious – beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The service was outstanding. Everyone on the team was friendly and attentive, but a very special thank you goes to Andreas. He went above and beyond to welcome us and our guests. Andreas spoke English and German fluently, which was a great help, especially for our English-speaking guests. He was also incredibly funny and created a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere with his friendly and professional manner. We are very grateful to the team at Glücksberg Hotel for helping to make our special day unforgettable. A clear recommendation for anyone planning a special event or simply looking for a great culinary experience.

My wife and I had a romantic stay with one night and with a five course menu. It was only the cheapest room type left, but it was fantastically cosy, terrific view, good bed and completely quiet. The five courses were really good and we bought wines to go with them. The place offers a lot of luxury for the money.

For the umpteenth time on our vacation trip to fish for sea trout, we stopped off at the White Castle for one evening. As always, everything was perfect - the rooms were sensational, the super clean sauna area was pleasantly "underpopulated" - i.e. enough space to rest and the evening: a culinary dream and an absolute highlight thanks to the perfect care from Andreas and his team - unfortunately you can only give 5 stars here, in our opinion at least 12 out of 10!

I can and only want to review the restaurant here. A pleasant ambiance, and the dishes, although not exactly inexpensive, were visually well-prepared and, to a certain extent, tasty. However, the behavior and communication of the male waiter were inappropriate, as he believed he always had to be particularly funny – but he wasn't. In fact, his supposed jokes were rather inappropriately annoying and ultimately damaging to the business. We were then asked to pay separately at the cash register – that's simply unacceptable in a place like this and should be reconsidered in light of the overall impression. It's a shame, but for the reasons stated, we won't be coming back.

Visited the hotel again. Always thrilled. The welcome is warm. The rooms are very comfortably furnished. Breakfast is a poem. In the Felix Restaurant, you can enjoy star-level dining. The friendliness of the employees is particularly pronounced. You feel safe in this house. Keep it up.

We waited forever at the reception desk for someone to come. Information was provided in difficult German at 9:15 p.m. The parking charging station was 3/3 occupied, while charging was 1/3 occupied, but it wasn't a priority. A shame.

Really nice room with balcony. The hotel was kept in Scandinavian style. Nice restaurant with lovely chairs and sea view. Breakfast has a large selection. However, the spa area has no pool of any kind - only saunas and treatments. Good staff with fast and polite service.

We had a great time here. The beach is right in front of the hotel. The wellness area is great! And if you state that you are vegan when booking, you will ensure that you get a great flat vegan dish for breakfast! Only recommended

A fantastic location, I would happily drive 60 km up for the restaurant with incredibly good food!

Unfortunately, I have to eat there regularly as part of events. The service is unsatisfactory, the food is not recommended and the drinks are overpriced. Your own parking lot is usually full, but on the street it is difficult in summer.

The hotel, including our room, was beautiful! Unfortunately we have to deduct 2 stars for the staff. Apart from the nice gentleman at breakfast and a service person/management at dinner, the employees are unfortunately not friendly. If we hadn't said hello, nothing would have come from the staff. Not even when we checked out was the question whether we had had a nice stay, or a safe journey home and no goodbye either! The hotel has 4 stars but the staff unfortunately destroys the stars. It's a shame for the great hotel.

My wife and I decided to spend our 5th wedding anniversary in a dignified way (as we say here in Hamburg). We chose the beach hotel and the short vacation offer (3 nights, 3 3-course meals and 3 breakfasts). We experienced a beautiful house, very friendly and courteous staff, a super room with a balcony. And last but not least, 3 times a super delicious menu (I'm a professional chef myself and I had a lot of fun and enjoyment being able to enjoy my colleagues' food). The service was very good and you found time to exchange a few words, which I don't take for granted. My wife (as a native Frisian, an enthusiastic tea drinker) asked whether there was rock candy, which we were unfortunately told no. The friendly breakfast waiter actually got her her beloved Kluntje, which my wife was very happy about (this isn't a given either, but in my opinion speaks for the very high standard of the staff). All in all we enjoyed the long weekend and will be back.

I was here with my husband Mr. Thomas Frohnert for a few days. Although he has already written a review, I would like to write one of my own. If you could give this 25 stars, I would. So unfortunately I can “only” give it 5 stars. / I have already stayed overnight in many large and well-known hotels. I was always welcomed by a wonderful ambience, excellent service and first-class food. And yet I never really felt comfortable there because I was missing something: human warmth. Here in the beach hotel I have found everything: a stylish ambience, excellent service, first-class food... AND... human warmth. It started with the rock candy and tea that were bought especially for me, continued with the drinks advice, and ended at the reception, where they got me paper towels for my bouquet of flowers so that it wouldn't drip. Sometimes it's little things like this that make an excellent house even better than the others. My husband and I would love to come back. / P.S. To all those who might be expecting extra sausages to be fried for them: You can't ask for favors. Favors are given voluntarily.

We only went there to eat. It was a special event and a special lovely meal. The selection is good (including wines) and it tastes great. However, you should also bring a slightly larger wallet.

Wonderful hotel with a noble Nordic atmosphere. We really enjoyed our stay, beautiful, unusual rooms with a wonderful view of the fjords, excellent cuisine, very courteous staff who make you feel welcome. We are already looking forward to our next visit, thank you very much ☺️

The hotel is located on the fjord and adapts to the Nordic flair. The rooms and suites are very spacious. Order, cleanliness and service very good. When it comes to eating, you can enjoy everything that the sea cuisine offers. At breakfast you are already looking forward to the kind words from the staff (everyone calmly and with a smile) and so the days and stays can begin. Keep it up

We celebrated a civil wedding here on August 17, 2024. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. I have rarely experienced such an attentive waiter! We were all absolutely thrilled. The whole thing in today's personnel situation, hats off to you!

Perfect location next to the beach and a 2 minute walk from the bus stop. Excellent breakfast buffet and very clean modern rooms.

I paid €850 for 6 nights – for a studio room no larger than 20 square meters including a bathroom. Here is a list of positive and negative aspects: Positive: • Location • Balcony • Water pressure • Breakfast • Maid spurt Negative: • Spartan furnishings • Ancient television • NO bathtub (for a total of +€800!) • Cheapest fittings, some defective • Dirty windows • Poor curtains (difficult to close) • Minibar prices (e.g. €5 for “chocolate almonds”, 100g) • Grains of sand on the ground and in the bed Fitness and wellness offer: • ONLY open until 6 p.m Breakfast: • Becomes monotonous • Closes at 10:00 Staff: • Unfriendly and careless staff Miscellaneous: • Very noisy • There is nothing within walking distance. Supermarket miles away! Price: • PRICE PER NIGHT, not justified by anything. All in all, a hostel with an arrogant, classy look. I recommend booking yourself into a decent hotel in Flensburg. That `s not worth it. Bad and disappointing. EDIT on 07/24/24: In response to this review, the hotel manager, Mr. Haas, threatens “very unpleasant” legal consequences! Incredible. That's really all you need to know as a potential guest. Furthermore, after this outrageous insolence, I am of the opinion that the owner should quickly replace the position of hotel manager in order to improve service and guest satisfaction in the future.

Great hotel, feels a little refined. High end people. But or a pleasant hotel with extra pleasant breakfast receptions 👍 always pleasant with such clever and cheerful people in the morning. A little cold in the room, so good thing there were slippers there 😊

Totally overrated: The apartment was quite nice (3 nights for just under €700 - oh well), even if the beds were quite shabby and the pillows were the cheapest. With such exorbitant prices, you can probably expect a selection of pillows or at least a neck support pillow. Bathrobes were also only available upon request. In this hotel it seems to be recommended to bring everything from home or, even better, to stay at home. There wasn't even a welcome bottle of water. The location is of course quite nice, right on the beach. However, the beach is tiny and dirty and not really suitable for swimming. Additional/new towels or new bed linen will of course cost extra in the apartment, as will an interim cleaning. A visit to the three small saunas (there is no pool or whirlpool) costs €15 per person per day. That seems quite cheeky to me. Wellness treatments are almost non-existent. Breakfast costs €27 and is ultimately nothing special. If you want an omelet you can pay an additional €6 to €8 for it. The in-house restaurant Felix is ​​nothing special. But it is very expensive. A dinner for two, with no starter and a tiny cheese plate for dessert to share, for a total of €156. A poorly poured glass of Prosecco of less than 0.1 liters ("puddle") costs a cheeky €9. There was also a very expensive Flensburger on tap (cheap beer in my opinion), there was no other beer on tap. Even though the staff was friendly (which is to be expected), we felt TOTALLY ripped off in every way. We are guaranteed to NEVER come back. We somehow wonder whether the hotel wrote the good reviews itself.

We celebrated our wedding a few weeks ago with 120 guests at the beach hotel. When we chose the location, we fell in love with the ambience and the great location right from the start. The professional and friendly banquet manager Tina Wohlgemuth always tried to implement our wishes and ideas to our satisfaction. Contact was always friendly and quick. We were sure that we had booked the all-round carefree package for a dream wedding with the beach hotel. Unfortunately, this did not come true during our wedding celebration. At the beginning of our celebration, we were introduced to a young, motivated team of employees who would be available to answer any requests or questions we may have and who would accompany us professionally throughout the evening, something we had no doubts about up to that point. The first questionable events began when around 10:00 p.m. (even before the opening dance) the tap system was declared defective and guests were offered bottled beer as an alternative. With the help of a family member, a private tap system could be set up and used on site. The mixed drinks were similarly chaotic. Long drinks were mixed very unprofessionally and schnapps were served at room temperature. The climax was reached when the bride's father made his way to the restaurant to organize additional employees to support the bar. Luckily, two more experienced team members were immediately added, who impressed with double speed and professional demeanor (and thus saved our evening!). Apart from these and a few other little things, our evening at the beach hotel was still wonderful and unforgettable. It's a shame that some guests remembered these events from our wedding instead of all the beautiful moments of the day.

The beach hotel gave us and our 70 guests a wonderful wedding. The friendliness, helpfulness and flexibility, together with excellent food and beautiful rooms, whether with a view of the water or vice versa, made our most beautiful day of our lives completely perfect, despite the rain during the wedding. Thank you so much, we will definitely come back for our first wedding anniversary!

The hotel is really beautifully located and really great inside and out. We had a fantastic room with a balcony and a view of the Baltic Sea. Our little dog was given a very warm welcome with everything we needed (treats, fresh bowl and blanket) and all three of us felt very comfortable. It was very easy to go for a walk on the grounds or on the beach. Unfortunately we arrived a little late in the evening and were unlucky that the kitchen was already closed, but the breakfast in the morning was one of the best we've had in a hotel. It was so fresh and delicious, really great. Just like the hall in which we ate. The dog was even allowed to come along. All in all, we will definitely come back because we felt more than comfortable.

We were external guests at the hotel for breakfast. The service was "boyish", but quick and attentive. Unfortunately the food at the buffet = eggs, bacon and sausages were cold. Coffee was hot. Conclusion: Price (€27 per person) okay. P.S: we are spoiled when it comes to breakfast buffets and service: We are docked with our ship in Flensburg Sonwik and stop for breakfast at the hotel opposite.

We stayed at the beach hotel for a wellness weekend. Unfortunately, this wasn't the right place for it. The standard room was dark and there were silverfish as roommates. The problem was known at reception, but there was no apology or even any accommodation. The wellness area was tiny. The saunas were extremely small and so was the corridor in front of them to the showers. It would have been full with just 4 people, but on the weekend with around 12 users at the same time you had to be careful not to fall on top of each other. In addition, it was impossible to get treatments at reasonable times weeks in advance. The breakfast was ok, the staff overall was distant and not welcoming. There was no bar to hang out at and no service in the reception area. The location itself is nice, but we won't be coming back.

BEACH HOTEL IN GLÜCKSBURG You don't get what you paid for! We had booked and paid for a stay in a double room via Strandhotellet's website from 8.3. To 9.3. We wanted to celebrate my birthday. The price was agreed in writing with the Strandhotellet (which unfortunately cannot/must not be reproduced here on the page), was the same that is constantly advertised both on Facebook and Spotdeal 127 EURO x 2. Great was our disappointment when we "only" got a small boring single room of 16 square meters with a 3/4 bed, a chair. It did not correspond at all to our expectations and agreement with Strandhotellet. We approached the reception and complained about it, but we did not get the double room that we had ordered and paid for.

All through a fantastic experience. Delicious food, super good and personal service. Will definitely come back.

We were allowed to use a voucher. The double room in the hotel felt small and the beds were narrow. Bathroom size was very ok. The included breakfast was ok, but an additional one in the price was too expensive in our opinion. Unfortunately there is no hotel bar; sitting at the counter in the restaurant area is not welcome. In our opinion, the lounge next to the entrance is not necessarily comfortable and “out of the way”. The service was not adequate and we almost died of thirst. When the service was there, he and you were very attentive and courteous. The building is very chic and attractive from the outside and befitting of its status from the inside. The regular total price for our double room seems quite high to us. But there is something missing in return, such as an attractive bar.

Informal, exudes a seaside hotel, and a relaxed atmosphere.. Really good food, a staff who really do it well without... seeming too stiff. I would love to come back with my not very romantic husband...who thinks it was so nice.

Sehr schönes und angenehmes Hotel mit gutem Restaurant. Wir haben den Jahreswechsel im Strandhotel verbracht. Das Arrangement mit einem 3-Gänge Menü, einem „Diner for One“-Menü und dem Silvester-Galamenü mit DJ und Tanz war super. Phantastisches Preis-Leistungsverhältnis - alle Getränke waren inklusive. Damit hatten wir nicht gerechnet. Unser kleiner Dackel war auch herzlich willkommen. Zimmer und Service sind tadellos. Die Lage direkt am Strand ist großartig. Einzig der Wellness Bereich ist sehr klein- da wäre noch Luft nach oben. Werden sicherlich noch einmal in den Sommermonaten zurückkehren

Havde en super dejlig oplevelse. Vi var 2 par i 2 overnatninger. Morgenbuffeen var helt uovertruffen lækker. Aftensmaden super lækker og hod betjning. Kommer gerne igen en forårsdag😊

Ein traumhaftes, ruhiges Meerblickzimmer, stets aufmerksames Personal sowie exquisites Essen. Den Wellness - Bereich hatten wir fast immer für uns allein, was am Zeitpunkt - außerhalb der Saison - gelegen haben könnte. Direkt am Strand gelegen bietet der Standort Verweil- aber auch Spazierwege am Wasser oder oben im Ort.

Der Saunabereich mit Ruheraum ist klein. Es sollte daher ein Zeitfenster für den Saunabereich festgelegt werden, damit nicht zu viele Personen den Bereich gleichzeitig nutzen können.

Sehr gute Unterkunft in toller Lage. Schöne Zimmer, feines Frühstück und ein erstklassiges Restaurant.

Ein sehr gut geführtes Haus in schöner Lage an der Flensburger Förde. Das Personal in allen Bereichen ist ausnahmslos sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Außerordentlich gut geführtes Restaurant, tolle Angebote, ansprechend serviert von hochmotiviertem Personal!
