Sensational food, high-priced but of commensurate quality. Beautiful view of the fjord.

After extensive renovations, the Alte Meierhof, with its Brasserie restaurant, has become even more beautiful and modern. It offers exquisite service and outstanding food. For those seeking more, the gourmet restaurant Meierei Dirk Luther is located in the same building.

We visited the brasserie for breakfast today for the first time since the renovation. The redesign is very successful; the brasserie is bright, welcoming, and modern. The view of the Flensburg Fjord is, as always, stunning. When summer arrives, the new terrace will surely be a wonderful place to sit. ;) We were lucky and had the brasserie almost to ourselves today. So we were able to fully enjoy the breakfast buffet and feast like kings. :) The selection is extensive: breads, rolls, including gluten-free versions, fruit, muesli, quark dishes, cheese, cold cuts, jams, bacon, grilled tomatoes, etc. A wide selection of fresh egg dishes can also be ordered from the waitress. Sparkling water is also included. There are also fresh smoothies and a large selection of teas (I would have liked to have additional information about the brewing times for the tea). The reception and service were warm and super friendly. Since we were the only guests after a short time, we were treated very attentively. We really enjoyed having the Meierhof and the brasserie to ourselves! 🥰 Even though this remains an exception, we're already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you so much for the wonderful time today! Five stars absolutely deserved and an unreserved recommendation. 👍🏼

Five of us were in the brasserie yesterday at lunchtime. The communication in advance, the service on site and the food were excellent. Almost all of us decided on the dish of the day, a very modern/upscale interpretation of a classic (plaice with buttered potatoes and cucumber vegetables). That sounded unspectacular at first, but it was brilliantly implemented. I have rarely eaten such good and fresh fish in a restaurant. Thank you for the good hours!

We had a fantastic evening. We were only there for dinner as we live nearby. Service and food simply top. We'd love to come back.

Four of us attended the Easter lunch. We were asked beforehand about our dietary preferences. Since I don't eat meat, we stated this. Once we were seated at our table, we were served an aperitif and a friendly welcome from the waiter. The starter was a soup with small meat dumplings. Unfortunately, I discovered that my dish also included the dumplings. It should be noted, of course, that we didn't mention this again before the food arrived, as we assumed the waiter would either ask again or already have this information. These comments are, of course, nitpicking at a high level, but at a price of €80 per person for a three-course meal, you're entitled to do so. All in all, the food was absolutely excellent, and we're considering adopting this as an Easter tradition.

The meal was a delight, especially the sauce with my veal cheeks. I felt the presentation lacked a bit more flair. For the price, I expect a truly memorable experience when the food is served. I would especially like to emphasize the friendliness of the staff. All in all, it's worth a visit if you want to be pampered.

We went there for dinner with two couples on a Saturday evening. The evening exceeded our high expectations in every respect (ambience, service, food). A thoroughly successful evening that everyone will remember fondly.

Vi nød et glas vin i baren inden middagen klokken 18. Det var en god Grauburgunder. Blev overført til restaurant regningen. Da vi kom ind på restauranten var betjeningen hurtig, og til tider for hurtig. Brød var super, men tilbehør manglede lidt smag. Foret var sød kartoffel suppe. Den smagte godt. Der efter kom havtasken, som efter min mening var den bedste ret. Kød retten var lam, som var perfekt tilberedt rosa. Desserten var med ananas. Ikke lige min smag. En god tysk Riesling var højde punktet i vin menuen.

Food is super and the environment and service is nice

We were totally disappointed! We're regular guests at the Meierhof, but we've never experienced such careless and tasteless food. Then, while we were eating, they were scrubbing the kitchen a few meters away. I find that incredibly inhospitable when it only smells of cleaning products. We'll probably eat in the surrounding area during our stay at the Meierhof instead. What a shame!

Alter Meierhof has a plaque on the front door: "Five starts superior". Fine. However, the hotel can't live up to the five stars superior in terms of service - and that's what it's all about at this level. See my separate review of the hotel here on TA. Alter Meierhof houses three different eating options: First, there is the two Michelin starred "Meierei Dirk Luther", which we would have loved to try - but alas closed for vacation. The "Brasserie" was the option so we decided to give it a try. Stylish "semi fine dining" with good food, lovely setting outside (in the summer) with view over the Flensburg Fjord , somewhat expensive and with slow service. Third option is the "Bodega" - a small room like a wine cellar with a Spanish theme. Kitchen obviously the same, but the tapas/Espagnol is what is presented. Very nice little cosy room for a few couples/singles. We didn't try it, but it looked as a good option. The slow service at the Brasserie was our main concern for not giving this five star establishemt five stars, so to speak... Obviously understaffed with veeeery long waiting time between the dishes. NOT what I - or you - should expect and accept from a five star "superior" hotel. OK - vacation time and a hard time post covid to get qualified staff. But even if the "maestro" himself is on vacation, summer is high season for a hotel like this and should be staffed properly. So no: not OK to have a dinner with two courses during two hours and forty minutes.... Must be sharpened up. We had a carpaccio for starter and it was fine. The pasta dish with truffles was also very good, even if not astonishing. The "bouillabaisse" was excellent! Really fine! Rather expensive if you choose à la carte and not the offered set menu (included in the half board offer for hotel guests). If service gets to the level it should be, than I can return. There are other options if not.

Amazing people both in kitchen and in restaurant - beautiful sunset view and nature both from indoor and on terrasse.

In der Brasserie des Alten Meierhofs, ein 5-Sterne-Hotel, erwarte ich eine entsprechende Küche - auch wenn nicht Dirk Luther selbst am Herd steht. Das Ambiente mit Sonnenuntergang und Blick auf die Flensburger Förde ist traumhaft, und das sollte auch das Menü sein. Leider wurde der Gesamteindruck getrübt, nicht durch das Ambiente oder das Personal: das freundliche und zuvorkommende Personal verdient ein Lob. Aber das Essen… Lauwarmes Filet vom Seesaibling mit grünem Spargel… Lauwarm wäre schön gewesen, aber es war bereits kalt. Dem Saibling fehlte es an Geschmack und an Würze. Er war schlicht ohne Geschmack. Warum zudem weiße Spargelviertelchen aufgelegt waren statt grüner, entzieht sich meiner Kenntnis. Denn auch grüner Spargel besteht nicht nur aus Köpfen… Das Süppchen von der Freilandpoularde war ausgezeichnet, die Poulardenklöschen ein Genuss. Das rosa „gebratene“ Rinderfilet war perfekt rosa und zart, aber eigentlich nur gedünstetes Filet, denn es hatte keine Bratenkruste und auch hier fehlten Würze und Geschmack. Pfeffer und Salz auf dem Tisch können das nicht verbessern. Und das sogenannte „sommerliche Gemüse“ mit einem durch das Wasser gezogenen Brokkoli und extrem „al dente“ Karotten sind verbesserungswürdig, der Kartoffelschaum war gut. Das Dessert vom Topfen mit Erdbeeren war zumindest ein positiver Abschluss, wenn auch sehr (zu) süß. Ingesamt gut, aber Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis sind nicht stimmig und für ein 5-Sterne-Hotel nicht angemessen.

Sehr gepflegtes Restaurant im Vitalhotel Alter Meierhof mit einem besonderen Flair und beeindruckender Aussicht auf die Flensburger Förde, höchstes Niveau, Speisen und Getränke sehr zu empfehlen, auch die erlesene Weinkarte; der Service und das Personal: Top; ohne Wenn und Aber, jederzeit sehr gerne wieder.

Super lækker mad. Velsmagende og smukt anrettet. Dejlige omgivelser med smuk udsigt og høj service. Bobler og østers kan anbefales.

Die Brasserie wird von Herrn Schülke und seinem Team auf wunderbar stilvolle, aber unaufgeregte Weise zu einem Ort des Genusses gemacht. Hier fühlt man sich als Gast wertgeschätzt wie man es in einem Haus dieser Kategorie erwartet, aber nicht überall geboten bekommt. Die Küche ist eher traditionell unterwegs - was absolut positiv gemeint ist. Kreativität ergänzt hier wohltuend zurückhaltend eine überwiegend klassische Speisenauswahl, denen ein perfektes Handwerk anzumerken ist! Wer einfach mal wieder richtig gut und lecker essen gehen möchte und nicht auf Effekthascherei und Firlefanz aus ist, wird hier sehr glücklich sein. Auch der Weinempfehlung darf man sehr gern folgen - unser Geschmack wurde zumindest perfekt getroffen!

Virkelig dejlig med. Velkomponeret, frisklavet og meget smagfuld. En aften med fisk til hovedret, en anden med kalvekæber. Begge dele meget lækkert tilberedt, med god smag og friske råvarer. Lette velsmagende forretter og dejlige desserter. Meget opmærksom betjening. Gode vine, også glasvis. Men spørg gerne om det store vinkort, for der er mange spændende vine til gode priser, hvis du skal forkæles. Tip. Tag en drink i pejsestuen før eller efter middagen. Det er hyggeligt.

Das Essen war an beiden Tagen sehr gut, es gabe nichts zu beanstanden und auch der Preis ist für diese Qualität gerechtfertigt.

We ate in the brasserie several times during our hotel stay at the Meierhof. It was always very tasty and of high quality. The service is very nice and courteous.

Großartige Küche, gekonnte Symbiose der Zutaten, hervorragende Speisenqualität. Darüber hinaus besticht der Service durch Professionalität, Charme und Herzlichkeit. Hierfür geben wir sehr gerne eine volle Punktzahl. Verbesserung sehen wir hingegen beim Ambiente (kein Sichtschutz zum hektischen Küchenbereich) und der Akustik. Trotzdem ein tolles Restaurant, das wir sehr gerne wieder besuchen!

Unser Besuch war als kleiner Test gedacht, bevor wir das Sternerestaurant probieren. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und an unseren Tisch begleitet. Auch im folgenden war der Service nett, aber etwas "fahrig" ( ein besseres Wort fällt mir nicht ein ) und teilweise unerfahren. Der Champagner und der Wein waren hervorragend, die Austern sehr frisch. Nicht so begeistert waren wir von den Speisen. Bei Vorspeise ( Thunfischtartar ) und Dessert ( Topfenmouse ) hatte man den Eindruck, sie seien schon lange vorbereitet und direkt aus dem Kühlschrank auf den Tisch gekommen. Insbesondere. das Dessert war von der Konsistenz sehr fest und geschmacklich für ein solches Haus enttäuschend. Auch dem Hauptgang (Lamm bzw. Trüffel-Pasta ) fehlte jede Finesse. Insgesamt sicher alles in Ordnung, aber zumindest dem preislichen Anspruch nicht gerecht werdend ( das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis des Desserts - 16,- Euro - würde ich sogar als ärgerlich bezeichnen). Insgesamt waren wir enttäusch, wir hatten mehr erwartet. Dennoch werden wir bei Gelegenheit dem Sternerestaurant noch Heine Chance geben.

We had a gift voucher for Sunday lunch at the Brasserie for 2 persons. Food was ok and nice view to the see. When we were paying with the gift voucher the staff told us that the vouche was old and therefor we had to pay 20 Euros extra. The voucher was valid until 30 november 2019 and there was nothing in the voucher that said that the reataurant could charge us extra. We didn´t want to argue so we paid 20 euros extra but no tip. We will certainly not visit this place again.

The restaurant is A lovely place to eat with nice decor, wonderful views and very attentative and friendly staff. The food is very good with plenty of choice and with some very substantial portions!

Tjenerne er ikke særlig opmærksomme på gæsterne. Maden er fin og dejlig udsigt fra restauranten. Der rent og pænt.

Im sonst wundervollen Meierhof ist dies sicher der schwächste Teil, denn hier hält die Küche nicht unbedingt immer was sie...

Visited the restaurant as part of our stay at the Alter Meierhof (half-board). The staff attending our table was nice, but inattentive. They forgot us several times and didn’t present the food. The food was well prepared but unimaginative - has celery soup (cheap ingredients)...

Wunderbares Restaurant im Vitalhotel Alter Meierhof. Preislich eine sehr gehobene und exklusive Kategorie, welche aber auch mit exzellenten Speisen und einem grandiosen Service belohnt wird. Somit ist der Preis in meinen Augen gerechtfertigt. Das Ambiente ist wundervoll und bietet im Sommer einen wunderschönen Blick auf die Förde wenn man am Fenster sitzt. Wir waren Abends in der Woche zum Speisen dort und hatten einen wundervollen Abend mit einem super sympathischen Mitarbeiter des Hauses, welcher uns bedient und beraten hatte. Drei Gänge wurden jeweils ausgesucht und allesamt unglaublich köstliche Speisen. Gerne werden wir wieder kommen!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lækkert sted med fin mad, 5 stjernet hotel med utroligt sødt personale. Så kan man godt leve med at telefonen på værelset og den ene stikkontakt ikke virkede😊.
