We attended the barbecue and the food, the speeches, and the atmosphere were fantastic; highly recommended.

The BBQ buffet was okay overall, but the food didn't quite live up to our expectations. The truly exceptional service deserves special mention – attentive, friendly, and always helpful, which made the experience very pleasant. Unfortunately, much of the meat was quite dry, which is particularly noticeable at a BBQ. We enjoy good food and eat well quite often, so our expectations as gourmets are naturally a bit higher. Overall, it was a solid experience with great service, but the taste could have been better.

A BBQ restaurant where the chefs really know their craft! So delicious! Good ingredients, homemade chutneys and sauces, reasonable prices, and super friendly staff. We're repeat customers. We come in the summer for the regular menu and in December for the Christmas BBQ (buffet).

My boyfriend went there twice years ago and has been raving about the amazing barbecue ever since we met, so I gave him the experience for his birthday. From the incredibly friendly service to the fantastic food, everything was perfect, and we'll definitely make the trip again! It's always relaxed at the buffet, never crowded or packed. Highly recommended!

We went there with a group of women because they offer gluten-free options. Three of the women had gluten intolerance. The friendly service was quick and took our orders. The food arrived fairly quickly for two of the women. A short time later, the burgers for the other women arrived: one regular and one gluten-free. The regular burger with its homemade bun looked great. The gluten-free burger, however, consisted of a gluten-free sandwich roll and appeared quite small. It's worth noting that there are better alternatives available. I ordered the platter with four different meats. The beef and pork were indistinguishable in taste and were served side-by-side (see picture). In other reviews, the beef is shown in pictures, making it easy to tell the difference. The chicken was very pale and could have used a bit more seasoning. The spare ribs were salty, and the only flavor was the smoke. They could have been a bit sweeter for my taste. Unfortunately, the food was only lukewarm. What I couldn't complain about was that the service never returned. I had also ordered a salad with balsamic dressing. The julienned carrots in the salad were so hard and dry, as if they'd been sitting out all day or had come straight from a bag. As a restaurateur, I can tell. The gluten-free beer was listed as Lamms Bräu on the menu. Zoller gluten-free was served, without any indication that it was a different brand. It tasted fine. Shortly before 9:00 p.m., we wanted to order more drinks. We were told, "Sorry, we're closing in 15-20 minutes," even though the website and the sign outside said they were open until 10:00 p.m. Two of the waitresses were out smoking, and we told the unmotivated waitress that we wanted to pay as soon as they came back in. This was ignored. We tried to get their attention by waving, but were then ignored. After 25 minutes, I got up and went to the counter to say we'd like to pay. We were almost the last customers. My conclusion: For the price, portion size, sides, and service, I'll have to think twice about making another half-hour drive each way. The great atmosphere was worth mentioning. It was modern and comfortably furnished. You could feel right at home there if everything else was right.

In my opinion, the food was too expensive for the pazal meat. The sauce could have been much better, the pulled pork was more than half cold, and honestly, the fries had more flavor. As a former butcher, I'm very disappointed and surprised that I had to get everything myself, which is really the final touch. On top of that, they run a small school on how to prepare it. In my opinion, stay away and don't waste your money learning how to do this kind of thing, as there are much, much better options. It's a shame that people don't dare to speak up or they distort the truth. But never again, except maybe for one or two beers, nothing else in my opinion.

A very tastefully decorated restaurant. We felt very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and attentive. What we particularly liked was the concept. Drinks are brought to the table, and when the food is ready, you are notified via a transponder and can collect it from the food counter. This creates less hustle and bustle in the dining area.

Excellent food from the smoker with delicious side dishes, such as grilled potatoes and Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) made with homemade spaetzle. Very friendly and fast service. We appreciated being able to pick up our food at the grill bar. We'll definitely be back.

Everything was very good; I tried the mixed meat platter and the fries. The brisket stands out: a real treat! Interesting beverage selection, with European wines (including Italian ones). Last seating is available at 6:45 PM. It's a bit strange for us Italians, but those are German hours, and culture must be respected. The staff is very friendly and speaks English. If you have any language difficulties, they'll be very helpful.

We ate there twice during our stay at the adjacent campsite. Both times we received a warm welcome. The food was delicious! I would highly recommend making a reservation in advance. The first time we went in without a reservation, it worked out perfectly; the second time, it was a close call.

The service was super friendly, and reserving a table in advance is highly recommended, as it's always fully booked. Our food was delicious, and I think the self-pickup concept is perfectly acceptable! The quality of the food and drinks was very good! The price was a bit higher, but considering the quality and regionality, it's absolutely reasonable value for money. The ambiance is also very nice. Everything was top-notch! If we're here again, we'd be happy to come back.

Everything was perfect, there's nothing to criticize here; it's just a different concept. We stayed at the campsite for two days in our motorhome and reserved a table immediately after checking in. We were greeted by Nicole, a service employee who also served us in the evening. I would even give this well-trained employee 6 stars. I've read a few reviews and can't quite understand a lot of things. A big compliment to the owner, who takes the time to answer all the reviews, meticulously explaining why reservations are necessary, and why empty tables are often visible. Barbecue Evening A sumptuous buffet with a variety of smoked dishes. Beef, pork, chicken, salmon, salads, sauces, etc. – all very tasty. Well-organized, with friendly and attentive service. We'd be happy to return next time.

We went to a BBQ on Friday and were once again very impressed. It's become a bit of a tradition for our son to come from Dinkelsbühl to Memmingen to join us for a BBQ at the Strandhaus in Lindau. This year it was Unity Day. As always, we enjoyed it very much. We find the beginning with a welcome and a relaxed introduction with some explanations very pleasant. That's how it was before Corona, and that's how we like it. I have to point out one "negative point." There's no Negroni anymore, which took my husband a long time to accept. The "tzatziki-like" :) was super delicious. Jasmin asked for the right dip :) What we absolutely loved was the BBQ cabbage. We would like the recipe for that. Keep up the good work. Wow! Great food with wonderful, attentive service! Despite the cold temperatures outside, it was nicely heated inside. The beef with vegetables and the grilled vegetable platter were delicious and very plentiful. It's worth the relatively high prices. We don't treat ourselves to something like this often, but we'd love to again!

Great ambience and delicious food

Unfortunately, we had to leave the table after 1.5 hours because it was reserved again. What a pity.

We've been to the Strandhaus am See many times in the past (with my wife, clients, or work colleagues). I haven't been to the location for a while, and unfortunately, the food wasn't as good as it used to be. Perhaps we just caught a bad day. In general, I found the old menu much better – it was much more varied, and you could look forward to the different meats in advance. Additionally, we had to pick up the food ourselves at the counter – this was very disconcerting at first. We paid €85 for two people, and I don't think the system with a "buzzer" on the table is very appropriate. We'll definitely try the Strandhaus again and see if we just caught a bad day.

We passed by the Strandhaus last night on our way to Lindau and, thanks to the excellent reviews, spontaneously decided to make a reservation today. Our spontaneity was rewarded; the Strandhaus absolutely deserves its ratings! Very friendly staff, truly delicious food (I've rarely had such a good veggie burger), a beautiful location, and all at a great price! We'll definitely be back.

We visited your restaurant for the first time—and certainly not the last! The atmosphere is very pleasant, and the beef ribs are simply outstanding. It would be great if you opened another restaurant in Vorarlberg (perhaps in Bregenz) 😉

I ordered the mixed platter with ribs, chicken, brisket, pulled pork, mango chutney, and fries at the Strandhaus in Lindau. Everything was fine, but unfortunately, not something I'd order again. The flavor of the platter was rather bland and uninspiring. The ribs, in particular, still had the silver skin on them, which significantly detracted from the enjoyment. The service was friendly, but even pointed out that they were understaffed – which was unfortunately noticeable. All in all, I would give it 3 out of 5 stars. You can eat here, but it probably won't be an option for my next visit to Lindau.

Go there, feel good, eat well and delicious food, and enjoy the good atmosphere and ambiance—that's how the day can end. When we return to Lake Constance, it's at the top of our list of places to go again. Thanks for the evening.

It was our first time there, and the first impression was great. We loved the tables and chairs, and the service was very friendly and pleasant. The prices are OK, but sometimes too expensive... for our liking... About the food: It's all a matter of taste, and everyone has a different one... Now, we've been to the USA many times... with BBQ food, of course... Some of our food was far from that... The coleslaw was, sorry, but really awful... The fries were so different sizes that they couldn't get crispy, and there was no salt... Totally tasteless... The ribs were fatty and lacked flavor... I think you can buy sauce to go with them... It was inedible, and I would definitely not go there again or recommend it... I'm sorry... But I don't want to waste my money on that.

When you read the boss's replies to the reviews, you hardly dare write any! I think it's a shame how they deal with criticism here and don't try to improve the feedback. When I read replies like that, it's a reason for me not to go there at all! I'll say that up front! Our men went to the BBQ buffet yesterday and unfortunately none of the three were happy. I have to say that all three are great grillers and smokers at home and really know what they're doing! The salmon was dry, the BBQ sauce tasted strange, brisket was the only thing they liked, the pulled pork was watery and the price for the buffet was really high, 45 euros per person! Even if people say you can eat as much as you want, you can't eat more than you would if you ordered normally! But yes, it was busy and as we all know, tastes differ!
