Strandhaus Restaurant in Lindau (Bodensee)

Lieber Klaus Winter und Team, im Zuge unseres 5-tögigen Urlaubs habe ich meinem Mann einen großen Wunsch zum Geburtstag erfüllt und bei euch reserviert. Es war ein toller Abend. Unser Tisch war schön dekoriert. Unser Essen, Briketts und Pulled Pork mit Grillkartoffeln war hervorragend, wir erhielten noch einen kleinen Nachtisch. Das Ambiente ist klasse, die Damen vom Service ebenso. Ich weiß nicht warum sich manche dran stören das Essen am Tresen abzuholen, ist für uns kein Thema, die Getränke werden ja serviert. Danke für das Foto mit Klaus. Für uns war es ein besonderer Abend, 400 km Anreise haben sich gelohnt Danke für den schönen Abend.

Nettes Lokal ! Service Pesonal super freundlich ! Das Essen war sehr gut ! Wir hatten ein Fleischplatte zu viert wäre von der Menge her für zwei Personen gerechtfertigt ! preislich sehr Teuer ! Vielleicht besser einzeln bestellen da sind die Preise in Ordnung

Great place for those who like meat. We enjoyed our meals a lot.

Unfortunately a disappointment! We were here with our children and were hoping to have a good meal. Unfortunately the food was cold and dry (possibly from the day before?), the portions were small and the prices were far too high. The only thing that was really tasty were the fries. Unfortunately, our children found the cocktails watery, but the wine was good. The self-service wasn't exactly ideal either. Overall, we unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant. There will be no further visit.

"Disappointing food! I was in this restaurant yesterday and I have to say that unfortunately the food did not meet my expectations. The food was served cold, the meat was dry and unseasoned. I can very well imagine that the meat was from the day before! The portions were very small, which is really disappointing considering the expensive prices you pay here. It is also incomprehensible why self-service is offered at these prices. At such prices you expect decent service and not that you have to serve yourself. Overall, unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant. The quality of the food and service are simply not good enough to justify the high prices.

There were two of us and we both had burgers, one with salmon and the other with pulled pork. The pulled pork costs €20 without side dishes and the salmon costs €17. My girlfriend also had a salad with it. I didn't do it because an additional €6.90 was too much for me. The burger was "good standard" the meat was a bit too dry and the salmon also received heat for too long. In terms of taste, the "spice" was missing here, it simply tasted too bland, for the price that shouldn't be the case, and on top of that you are only served with drinks, for the food you have to order and pick up the food yourself from the "outdoor kitchen". In terms of portion size, it wasn't enough for me. I finished the burger in 6 minutes and unfortunately I was still hungry. It would be nice to have a side dish with it, otherwise if I had had salad and fries as usual, I would have come to €30 with a burger. Then there is still no drink!! So here I have to say; that from our point of view price performance does not fit!! But the staff is very friendly and nice.

The location of the restaurant is unbeatable - with a direct view of the lake and the Alps in the background, you feel like you are in paradise. The ambience at the beach house is modern yet cozy, with a warm, inviting atmosphere. The interior is stylishly furnished and creates a relaxed, elegant atmosphere. You immediately feel welcome and in good hands. The menu is a real treat! It offers a balanced mix of regional and international dishes, always fresh and prepared with high-quality ingredients. Particularly noteworthy are the fish dishes that come directly from Lake Constance - absolutely fresh and of excellent quality. But meat lovers will also get their money's worth: the dishes are creative, taste excellent and perfectly balanced. There is also a great selection of vegetarian and vegan options, so there is something for every taste. The service at the beach house is first class. The staff is extremely friendly, professional and attentive without being intrusive. You can tell that a lot of value is placed on hospitality and satisfaction here. Wishes are fulfilled quickly and you always feel well looked after. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fair, especially when you take into account the quality of the food and the service. The wine list is also very well selected, with a great selection of wines that go perfectly with the dishes. Whether for a romantic dinner, a relaxed lunch or a festive event – ​​the Strandhaus Restaurant Lindau is always an excellent choice. We felt completely comfortable and will definitely come back!

Wir waren nun zum 3. mal im Strandhaus und leider war es nicht so wie die letzten beiden Besuche. Jetzt wird das Essen an der Theke bestellt und auch abgeholt. Getränke werden am Tisch serviert. Nun ein neues Konzept mit dem man Leben kann. Sehr kleine Karte bei der alles einzeln bestellt werden muss so wie man es gerne hätte. Aber das Essen war leider gar nicht nach unseren Vorstellungen. Wir hatten 3 x Spareribs leider viel zu fettig und der Geschmack hat leider auch gefehlt. 1 x das Hühnchen das war in Ordnung allerdings wenn man Hunger hat viel zu wenig da hätte man bei der Bestellung darauf hinweisen können das eine Portion Pommes dazu vielleicht nicht reichen könnte. Alles in allem stimmt das Preis Leistungsverhältnis für uns nicht.

Hallo Strandhaus Team, Ihr habt unser diesjähriges Camping Kickoff sensationell abgerundet. Trotz einiger Negativbewertungen nach umstellen des Konzeptes wollten Monika und ich uns doch selber einen Eindruck machen. Wir kamen fast wie immer kurzfristig und unangemeldet auf die Idee zu essen. Die junge Dame am Empfang begrüßte uns freundlich und bot uns tatsächlich im vollbesetzten Pagodenzelt dem letzten verfügbaren Tisch an. Vis-a-vis vom Grilltresen saßen wir dann sehr gut um dem Treiben von Herrn Winter und Team zuzuschauen. Die Karte ist zwar klein aber sehr toll gewählt. Die Getränke kamen sofort Das ausgesuchte Essen (1xLachs u. 1x Pulled Pork) kamen fast zeitgleich sehr toll angerichtet. Die Speisen waren auf den Punkt top zubereitet, kleiner Kritikpunkt für zwei gestandene Eifeler gefühlt etwas wenig, soll aber nur ganz ganz kleine Kritik sein. Kann das Strandhsus in neuem Ykonzept jedem nur empfehlen der halbwegs bereit ist neue Wege mitzugehen. Ich wünsche Herrn Winterund seinem Team weiterhin viel Erfolg Nächstes Jahr sehen wir uns definitiv wieder so Gott will Gruß Monika und Guido. Cremer aus der Eifel

Addendum: We were really looking forward to visiting again and were unfortunately very disappointed. You now have to order food at the counter and pick it up. Now you can live with that. But we were disappointed with the food. Menu very small and everything has to be paid extra. Food was lukewarm and the spare ribs were just greasy and unfortunately tasteless. There is no comparison to our last visit. The price-performance ratio is not right here. The others at our table weren't happy either. The service was nice and friendly. Very nice restaurant. We had the BBQ buffet which was very tasty. The service was excellent. Price performance was right. We'll definitely come back again.

Sehr enttäuschend Die Gerichte sind auf der Karte schlecht beschrieben und bei keinem der Gerichte ist eine Beilage dabei nicht mal ein Tropfen BBQ Soße Man muss die Soße einzeln bestellen und es gab nur eine BBQ Soße Ich hatte das Smoked Chicken was aber nur drei kleine Flügel waren Man muss also jede Beilage einzeln bestellen und Bezahlen

There were three of us at the Strandhaus Lindau today and we were very disappointed. In the pictures the food looked very good and plentiful, but unfortunately the reality was different. The portions of meat were really tiny and very expensive. You also have to buy each supplement for €5. Actually, at least one side dish comes with it for free. Then the food simply lacked pizzazz. But what we missed most were sauces. Every meat dish came completely blank. Here too, a sauce is simply a must. The grilled potatoes were very tasty, but a sour cream dip might be a good idea. However, the team was very friendly and dealt with our criticism well.

We have eaten at the beach house several times and have always received very friendly service (despite the full house)! The food (we usually went to the BBQ buffet on Friday) is always very tasty and with a good selection. Every now and then the boss comes to the table and asks how it tasted 😁. We can recommend this restaurant to everyone with a beautiful ambience, friendly staff and a great location.

This wasn't our first time at the beach house. This time with friends for the BBQ buffet. Spare ribs, pulled pork, salmon, BBQ chicken and braised beef are hard to beat! The side dishes of baked beans, grilled potatoes and grilled vegetables rounded off the buffet. The homemade BBQ sauces are a dream. For us it was delicious sex with a happy ending :-)...we'll be back!

Price-performance top. Really delicious BBQ style food. We didn't make a reservation on Maundy Thursday, the place was full and after about 10 minutes we still got a place (2 people). Basically self-service dining. Drinks and dessert are brought to the table. What to look out for: Next to the mayo and ketchup was BBQ seasoning, which is actually what is for sale. I thought it was a spice for seasoning and only realized afterwards that it was the house BBQ mix to take away. I said this when paying and I could choose whether I paid for the spice mixture and took it with me or left it there and didn't pay anything.

Great location, great concept! We had a meat platter and a vegetarian side platter. The meat platter was very well prepared. The pulled pork could be mashed with the Gsumen. The poultry, the spare ribs, perfectly seasoned, beautifully tender, and the lamb, a dream. Then I know why I am a meat eater. Price/performance very good. Please reserve!! Bon appetit 👍

It was super cozy to eat here; we have rarely been welcomed in such a friendly, cheerful and positive manner. Apart from the fact that the food was really excellent both times (we were there on the way there and back), you can just tell that people enjoy working here. Our dog was also given attention.

Wow what a wonderful place. The food was incredible the lovely couple who run the joint were so friendly and accommodating to our big group (who turned up late). They are also musicians (lakestaff is the band name) check their music out. Both the meat and the veggie dishes we had were delicious. We will return next time we are touring this way

NEW concept, unfortunately for us a canteen concept with a greatly reduced offering, self-service when ordering and picking up the food. Menu on wall screens “like at McDonald’s”. Unfortunately, there was also a loss of quality in the food: meat and sauces were only lukewarm, grilled vegetables were not grilled, soft wok/chafing quality. It's a shame what happened here... the comment from the house: "It's our restaurant and we have to like it" it's a shame everything 🥲 (prices remain demanding)

You have to look for a long time to get good BBQ in the region. We were there for the buffet yesterday. This is rarely offered, then offered separately and then there is only a buffet. After a short speech with an explanation, there was salmon, beef, pulled pork, ribs and chicken. Plus side dishes and homemade sauces. And now to the most important thing: it was extraordinarily tasty, the meat was super tender and an all-round great evening. You can allow 1-2 hours for the buffet; if you eat a la carte, there is often musical accompaniment. The website is always up to date...

Today we were guests at the Strandhaus Lindau for the first time. And what can we say, from the greeting onwards, everything was just right. A great concept to take part in, brilliant food and great people at an absolutely fair price. We can't help but say thank you to the entire team for the delicious food and the great evening. We were lucky enough to sample the delicious grilled meat dishes in the spring sunshine. But they don't just serve meat here; a lot of love has gone into the product. You can taste it. Add to that the beautiful ambiance by the lake.

Very nice birthday organization

After all the fantastic reviews and recommendations, we were really looking forward to dinner at the “Strandhaus” on the first day after the winter break. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. You have to order the food at the counter and pick it up yourself when the buzzer buzzes. The meat was lukewarm, served on a metal tray with paper, the drinks were served but came late, as did the salad. We were looking forward to a nice piece of meat and would have been prepared to spend the money for it. The menu selection was very manageable (sandwich, spare ribs, pulled pork, chicken breast,...), no really high-quality pieces. The price-performance ratio was not good at all. The employees were all very friendly and motivated. Nevertheless, you get the impression that this new concept is making savings at the expense of the guests. Very unfortunate.

Wir haben uns als Stammkunden auf die Möglichkeit, heute wieder lecker bei Klaus Winter und seinem Team zu essen, gefreut. Aber leider wurden wir sehr enttäuscht. Es gibt ein neues Konzept mit selbstbestellen und -abholen im Zelt, die Speisenauswahl reduziert, das Essen auf Papier und dünnen Plastik Tabletts und … es war kalt. Das einzige, das sich nicht verändert hat sind die Preise. Wir haben mit Bedauern und Verständnis die Gründe für das neue Konzept gehört: kein Personal verfügbar in Service und Küche. Das ist sehr schade, wir sind immer sehr gerne ins Strandhaus, auch aufgrund des Service, des leckeren, heißen Essen und der entspannten Atmosphäre. Ob wir wieder kommen wissen wir noch nicht.

Very good food, very friendly staff, prices reasonable. The spare ribs and the pulled pork from the smoker are really great. The spare ribs practically fall off the bone - edible without a knife... Then a good dessert to finish

We stayed at the beach house on Christmas Day with a large group of 17 people, including several children and a dog, and had an absolutely wonderful day. From the beginning, the organization of the restaurant was simply perfect. The reservation via telephone and email correspondence to pre-order the food worked smoothly, and when we arrived everything was perfectly prepared. Nothing was really missing! The food was exceptionally tasty and we all loved it – from the starters to the main courses. You can tell that the cooking here takes place with great attention to detail. The children were also very happy with their food, which is not always a given, and even our dogs were integrated in a friendly and uncomplicated manner. The service was particularly impressive: despite the holidays and the many guests, we were always served quickly. The drinks came to the table quickly, and the team was friendly, flexible and professional even when special requests were made. The atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and we really felt completely at home. The beach house is an excellently organized restaurant with a great team that has everything under control even when there is a lot of crowds. We can absolutely recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back - whether for a special occasion or just to enjoy the great cuisine and excellent service again. Simply excellent, super friendly, relaxed staff, top class food, highly recommended

Unfortunately our food (BBQ plate) wasn't good at all. The food arrived cold and tasted quite bland. Even the sauces couldn't add any flavor to the meat. But the fries were great. We also expressed this and in this case we would have been happy to receive a small amount of compensation given the high total price of just under €85. The waiter simply accepted the payment and said goodbye with a “see you next time!” Under these circumstances, there will probably be no next time for us. However, the waitress at the beginning was super friendly. Addition: we didn't touch the food after the first bite and would have liked to have left it there and therefore not paid for it. Unfortunately, despite the feedback, we were not offered this option. So we paid the price in full and took the food with us to prepare again at home. We like to believe that tastes are different and everyone should and is welcome to see the restaurant for themselves :) That's our personal opinion, it was bland and not well prepared and given the high price, it was absolutely not worth the money.

Food - garlic bread, grilled vegetables, sweet potato fries, spare ribs (the best in the world!!!), pulled pork noodles, salmon, mini dessert, Styrian ice cream - was super delicious as always! As always, the service was attentive and very friendly! We always enjoy coming back, despite the journey and no weekend opening hours. Keep it up!!!

We were at the end of the season buffet on January 3rd. Everything was just fantastic! The food was very tasty, the staff was very friendly. It was an excellent evening that exceeded all of our expectations...many thanks to the team and the chefs!

We visited the restaurant for the first time. We regularly stay in Lindau but we never tried the place. We liked the style of the dining room. My wife had spare ribs and I decided for a filet. The meal, the side orders and vegetables were just perfect. The service was friendly and efficient. We liked it a lot and will come back.

A great restaurant that is highly recommended. Great service, friendly and personable staff. Even the food that does NOT come out of the bag is super delicious! What we also really liked was that dogs are of course welcome there. We would be happy to come here again on our next vacation, we are looking forward to it! The communication in advance, support and implementation of my request for table decorations also worked smoothly. Thank you again for that!!

I can only warmly recommend the Lindau beach house! We had lunch there on Christmas Day and the grill plate for 2 people was incredibly delicious, especially the ostrich meat 🤤 We had pre-ordered for this day as there were a few people of us. Everything worked great and no one had to wait long for their food. What shouldn't be forgotten is the super friendly service, who was there to ask if everything was ok, but wasn't even remotely pushy! A big thank you also to my brother-in-law for organizing it. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely come back.

For my taste, the beach house is absolutely overrated. Why? We reserved a table on December 27th, 2024 at 7:15 p.m. Christmas BBQ buffet all you can eat. The catfish was born on land, as dry as it was. The spare ribs were also grilled to death, and the sauerbraten made from grass-fed beef was tough. When it came to the gratin, the potatoes weren't quite cooked through. The pulled pork from the country pig was very fibrous and therefore difficult to eat. The duck was tender and good, but therefore empty at the end. The salad buffet was, well, canteen level. The fun cost us 135 euros for two people with a large, a small beer, a Williams, two mulled wine and a glass of rose. There was a BBQ sauce that was very sweet. The sauces in the thermophores were so little and thickened that there was no leftover for the spaetzle. Finally, it should be mentioned that the corner bench at the top right is past its best, the artificial leather was worn and worn out. You can give the service staff a grade of 1 with a star, the ladies were very nice and accommodating.

Leider wurde im Internet nichts von einer kleinen Karte erwähnt. Obwohl nur das Restaurant besetzt war gab es keine glutenfreien Nudeln. Wir kamen extra deshalb, da ich Zöliakie habe. Sehr schade.

Was good. I missed the variation on the grill plate a bit. The meat was somehow similar but still good. A grilled steak would have been good. As I said, it was delicious...

Absolutely successful evening - BBQ was booked. The reservation in advance with a waiting list and changes worked really well. Everything was lovingly designed on site, beautifully decorated, everything ran smoothly with fantastic food. Absolutely committed team, all around a great evening.

We were at the beach house again today. 5 different dishes on our Today, for the first time, the food wasn't quite as good as we're used to. Unfortunately, there were burnt spare ribs and some black sweet potato fries today. Things didn't go so well in the kitchen, we know that better. But there are days like that, we'll be back, the rest was great today as usual.

We went to the beach house for the Christmas BBQ buffet. It was a wonderful evening in a great atmosphere with fantastically delicious food! All employees were extremely friendly and accommodating. We really, really liked it. If we are in the area we will definitely come back!

The last time we went to the beach house before Corona was for the Country BBQ... Now we were at the Christmas BBQ... What can you say... very loving atmosphere, incredibly nice, friendly staff, ordered drinks are delivered quickly. As before Corona, the BBQ was simply delicious, everything that needed to be warm was hot, the side dishes and salads were very tasty. The selection was completely sufficient. If there was a separate sauce for the spaetzle then it would be great... because I'm Swabian and like spaetzle with sauce. But the team was so kind and brought us some sauerbraten sauce, which was amazing and very tasty. The only thing I perhaps missed was Mr. Winter's speech, which I always found very nice when the buffet opened. Thank you very much for the great food and the lovely evening, see you soon.

Luckily we had reserved a table because the restaurant is really busy. We had a starter soup and then the grill plate for two. Both tasted really excellent and the service was also great. Fast and friendly. The restaurant is certainly not for the "mainly a lot and cheap" group, but if you like eating smoked meat and are willing to pay a fair price for it, this is the right place for you.

We were there for the Indian Summer Buffet; a good selection, the chestnut soup was very good, the Norwegian salmon was good, the meat was unfortunately only mediocre including spare ribs (little taste) and venison (too dry), wild boar (pulled?), saddle of beef; Everything sounded great, but the taste wasn't an experience. Really a very nice evening with very good BBQ. The different types of meat were buttery tender and imaginatively seasoned. The salad bar is also an eye-catcher and very fine. The chestnut soup and the chutneys were also very good in terms of taste. Here especially the plum chutney... mega... I give one star less for the grill side dishes, personal impression mind you. We had a table in the pagoda tent, which was nice but also a bit chilly. The way to the buffet is nice and short. The service is definitely great, very friendly and at the beginning you get a BBQ explanation, which fits. Used plates are quickly cleared away (yes, we often went to the buffet...) and a quick glance is enough to get your attention. Very successful evening, fine BBQ, salads and also the cocktails to start with, highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our first visit. From the reception to the ambience to the service and food, everything is perfect. As soon as we are back in the area we will come back. Greetings from the Ruhr area.

Starter: Soups were delicious, Main courses: the quality of the meat was very good, the cooking point was tender, just as it should taste from the smoker. The side dishes we chose helped to complete the main course. Dessert was ok. However, it lacked the finesse and originality that was present in the soups and side dishes, hence a star deduction. We had a very nice evening and would love to come back.

When we go to Lake Constance, a visit to the beach house is a must for us. As always, everything was perfect. They were very creative with the desserts and came up with a replacement for the brownie that was out of the mini dessert.

The booking process was fast and convenient. The location was within walking distance from our hotel. We got mixed grill plates and everyting on the plate was extremely tasty, portions were huge. The place offers coice for vegans as well, which is great.

Very nice service, good food and relaxed atmosphere. Children will also find something there as well as a small selection for vegetarians/vegans. Prices are okay too.
