Der schattige Garten war angenehm aber das Essen war bis auf die Kartoffeln ungeniessbar: Die Matjes Hausfrauenart extrem salzig; schade um den Fisch. Die Remoulade war total pampig und schmeckte nur nach Mayonnaise. Das Schlimmste war aber der Salat, der mit einer grässlichen schweren Sauce ertränkt wurde. Ok, die Geschmäcker sind verschieden und an so einem Ort erwarte ich keine kulinarischen Höhenflüge. Aber wenn ich gefragt werde, wie das Essen war - von dem wir höchstens einen Viertel assen - gebe ich ein ehrliches Feedback. Da brauche ich nicht, dass die Servicekraft zu diskutieren anfängt und uns zu belehren, dass es allen anderen schmecken würde. Nie wieder!!!!

Wir waren mit Freunden im Wissingers (10 Personen) und haben im Voraus reserviert. Das Essen war wirklich gut, der Service aber schlecht. Nach der Bestellung haben wir 55 Minuten auf das Essen gewartet! Wir werden nicht wieder hingehen.

It was our first time in the restaurant and we were able to enjoy the great beer garden. The service was courteous, the food was really tasty. Even if you have to eat gluten-free, you can find food options here. The food is not very cheap, but the price-performance ratio is definitely right here. We can only recommend the restaurant.

The schnitzel was ordered in an egg coating with spaetzle. The first piece had cartilage, which happens sometimes, the second bite I only had solid tissue and the third time, cartilage again. Then I tried the spaetzle, but I didn't like it either. I thought to myself "that's what happens", you can end up with an unsightly piece of meat, right? Well, if the spaetzle had at least been great, but they were at best ok. And then you think to yourself, given the prices, “no, the meat shouldn’t be like that”. The only thing that bothered me personally was that when I let the food go back and ordered something else, I asked again, just to be on the safe side, whether I now have to pay the full amount for the previous one? And yes, that was the case. Now my point, where I come from, Hesse, there is no such thing when the plate is still almost full and unfortunately you don't like paying for it at all. At least then no longer the full price. We are much more accommodating here. That's why I was honestly annoyed by it, but other countries have different customs (obviously this also applies to federal states). You're just on vacation and you want to treat yourself to something, you keep thinking to yourself and you like to tell yourself that, and then it HAS to be top, so to speak. That's why I know that my expectations are suddenly very high everywhere, I think many holidaymakers understand that. That's why I try to be as objective as possible. From my point of view, the service was quite good, because I canceled my second dish because I had to pay in full for the first one. And then, of course, I sat there a little disappointed on my part, but out of politeness I didn't say anything and drank my Radler, which was quite good. And suddenly the waitress arrived with a plate of spaetzle. Which I found very attentive, even if I didn't like the spaetzle. But still a very nice gesture to change the mind of an unhappy guest. So I would like to say at this point: you can twist it or turn it, but in the end it's probably a matter of taste, as always.

Das beste Wiener Schnitzel mit Pommes das ich jemals gegessen habe. Ich hoffe, das Lob an die Küche ist dort angekommen. Leider war der Service zwar nicht in Unterzahl, aber sehr gestresst. Kaum war das Schnitzel gegessen, hat man mir den Teller unter dem Messer weggenommen.

Stopped by by chance and enjoyed a very good lunch. Well cooked and seasoned, compliments! The goulash was sensational and even though we don't usually like potato dumplings, here it was great and fluffy! Seasonal, regional menu.

Try Brett beer for €8.50. Unfortunately the beer wasn't good and only 0.4 liters in total. That's twice as expensive as on the promenade. And a glass filled with just salt sticks. Disappointing.

We had dinner there over the Easter weekend. At first it looked bad without a reservation, but a place was found for us. The restaurant was well booked. Still, the service was great. There is no children's menu, but you can choose something from the normal menu that is prepared in a smaller portion for the children. The food was very tasty. We had different dishes with six people and everyone was very satisfied.

Very nice and on point restaurant. Everything from start to finish was very classy and the staff very respectful. The food absolutely amazing and we also shared a very delicious cheese soup. Definitely one of the best, if not the best restaurant from Lindau. The only bad would be the parking but there are possibilities around. Definitely i would love to go again.

We can only report positive things. The family-run restaurant understands how a concept works. The service is excellent, very friendly and accommodating. The food was simply delicious, we had the Wiener Schnitzel and Kaiserschmarrn for dessert (the best we have eaten to date). The menu is manageable, which I find rather positive since the dishes are all mastered according to the reviews. Fair prices for good regional cuisine in a tourist town. The atmosphere is calm and very pleasant! If we are in Lindau again for a short vacation, we will come again. Great praise.

Great food, great service and great space. The food was delicious. The children ate hamburgers but the adults were able to experience excellent German cuisine. We ate Ochsenbäckle, Bierkutscher and for dessert Kaiserschmarrn, we loved it! It has an outdoor terrace at the back.

Nice, friendly little restaurant in Lindau Island, with moderate prices. I've always wanted to have lunch on the island and this was the only one of the classic (i.e. not a hotel) and German restaurants that was open, luckily I didn't have to eat kebab or pizza!!! The quality of the food is first class, the service friendly and attentive. All in all a very good little restaurant in the cozy old town! The time here was pleasant! I recommend it to everyone!

The service was outstanding and we were served high quality traditional dishes with a little twist that made them remarkable and very more-ish. Their Sauerbraten was a culinary experience. Das Essen ist geschmacklich OK. Die Preise finde ich stark übertrieben. Kässpätzle für 16 € und Schweinebraten ( Halsgrat v. hallischen Schwein) mit 3 Scheiben Serviettenknödel für 19 €. und da ist die MwSt noch 7 %. Schade da sind wir früher gerne hingegangen.

Tolles und äußerst schmackhaftes Essen, welches trotz der Schnelligkeit des Personals nichts an Qualität eingebüßt hatte. Ich hatte den Bierkutscher Braten mit Salat und einer Apfelsaftschorle und empfehle dieses Essen ausdrücklich weiter. Und preislich liegt man hier bei ca. 28€, was für Lindau recht günstig ist. Wunderbare Atmosphäre, nettes und schnelles Personal. Nur die Auswahl an veganen Gerichten ist sehr mager. Der Salat mit Falafel war sehr lecker, aber das ist auch das einzige vegane Gericht. Wenn man etwas warmes veganes essen möchte, ist man hier falsch. Ansonsten alles top.

Wir hatten einen schönen Abend . Das Essen war hervorragend. Schon lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen. Das Essen kam so heiß an den Tisch wie ich es eigentlich noch nie erlebt habe. Einmal im Jahr statten meine Frau und ich hier einen Besuch in Lindau ab. Das Lockal glänzt mit Charme und Freundlichkeit. Das Essen war diesmal auch wieder ein Kulinarisches Gedicht. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Sehr schön: endlich mal wieder 5 volle Punkte! Wir waren nach längerer Zeit mal wieder im Wissingers. Um es vorweg zu sagen: es war wieder richtig richtig gut! Gediegenes Ambiente (Täfelung mit leichten "Modern Art"-Anklängen). Aufmerksamer, sehr freundlicher, bemühter, aber trotzdem dezenter und unaufdringlicher Service. Wir hatten einmal Braumeistergoulasch zu 19€ und einmal Bierkutscherbraten zu ebenfalls 19€. Vorweg noch einen Salat zu 7€. Der Salat abwechslungsreich und knackig frisch mit angenehmen, offensichtlich hausgemachtem Dressing. Der Goulasch schön mit Weizen sämig eingekocht und das Fleisch butterzart. Der Kloß war wohl Convenience, aber falls das so war, dann der qualitativ gehobeneren Art-schmeckte richtig gut. Der Schweinebraten vom Schwäbisch-Hällischen-Landschwein (das ist Bio vom Besten!) ausgezeichnet zart und schmackhaft. Der dazugereichte Serviettenknödel war hausgemacht, in Scheiben geschnitten und nochmals kurz angebraten-perfekt! Dazu eine recht ordentliche Flasche Zweigelt zu 26,50€. Die Preise sind absolut angemessen und für das Erhaltene eher noch günstig. Insgesamt wieder ein sehr gelungener Abend mit einem feinen, leicht rustikalem Dinner. Es erinnerte uns an unseren Besuch von vor etwa 2 Jahren: wir waren damals bereits äußerst zufrieden und angetan, sonst wären wir nicht wiedergekommen. So können wir gerne sagen: Das Wissingers ist immer eine sichere Bank-Chapeau! Ganz sicher beim nächsten Lindau-Besuch wieder!

Biergarten mit Kies und Balkon. Etwas lieblos die Sitze, aber das ist Biergarten. Das Essen war okay. Für Gruppen die lachen und reden wollen ideal. Kein richtiger Innenbereich soweit geöffnet sichtbar.

Heute Montag im Biergarten gegessen Sauerbraten vom Hirsch und ich kann nur sagen dass ich total begeistert bin gerne würde ich sechs Sterne verteilen für das Essen und für die Bedienung und für den herrlichen Biergarten und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt auch meine Schweizer Nachbarn sagen sogar dass es hier gar nichts kostet

Perfektes Essen im schönen Biergarten. Egal ob klassischer Braten oder ein knackiger Salat wir waren höchst zufrieden. Das hiesige Bier vom Fass ist fast gefährlich süffig.

Im Restaurant herrscht eine gute Atmosphäre. Das Personal ist freundlich. Besonders das Schnitzel ist sehr lecker.

Nach dem dritten Versuch nun endlich einmal einen Platz reserviert. Die Erwartungen hoch, im Resultat übertroffen. Super nette Bedienung und leckerstes Essen, bekannt und doch neu, einfach noch besser als anderswo. Die Käsesuppe war was Neues und so schmackhaft, dass wir schon überlegten noch eine zu bestellen. Auch der Nachtisch hatte es in sich. Der Kaiserschmarrn war leicht karamellisiert und fluffig. Unbedingt wieder.

Wir waren abends da, hatten Pulled Pork, Braten und Zwiebelrostbraten. Alles war gut, aber nicht perfekt. Der Zwiebelrostbraten war eher durch, obwohl Medium bestellt. Schade, dass beim Braten kein Salat dabei war, da es auch nur wenig Gemüse gab. Das Bier war sehr schmackhaft. Die Bedienung war super nett, sehr flink und aufmerksam. Wir können das Lokal absolut empfehlen. Gute Küche mit klitzekleinen Abstrichen. Und man sitzt wunderschön im Biergarten abseits vom Trubel. Das allein war den Besuch schon wert.

Wir waren zum Mittagessen hier. Hatten Rotauge a La Matjes, Käsesuppe, Schmorbraten vom schwäbisch Haller Schwein, Steak aus dem Rinderrücken und Creme brûlleé von Tonka. Wir würden ausgesprochen freundlich bedient, die Speisen wurden zügig - aber in angemessener Abfolge - serviert. Zu den Preisen kann man sagen, dass hier eine faire Kalkulation zu Grunde liegt. Grazioso locale situato sull'isola di Lindau. Cibo e birra ottimi, personale molto gentile nel trovarci un posto anche se siamo arrivati quasi a orario di chiusura di cucina, molto consigliato!

In the past we visited Lindau in Winter. We always visited this Restaurant. This time it was summer and we were surprised to be seated in the nice beer garden which we never visited before. The food was very good. My wife had a salad with chicken breast i ordered a veal Wiener Schnitzel. Both menu were well prepared and tasty. The service was efficient and the price is very fair.

Moderne Küche, die mehr als nur Brauhausessen bietet. Frische Salate und auch interessante vegetarische Gerichte. Man macht hier nichts falsch. Aufmerksame und freundliche Bedienung.

Nichtraucherbiergarten ist mal eine super Idee! Der Service war sehr freundlich und flink. Habe die die Falafelbowl gewählt. Für 15.- € stimmt hier das Preis- Leistungs- Verhältnis leider überhaupt nicht. Die wenigen grünen Salatblätter waren welk. Dazu gab es nur Karottensalat. Falafelbällchen und reichlich Sprossen. Nicht satt geworden, 6.90€ wären angemessen! :(

Wir waren gestern zum Mittagessen im Wissinger. Trotz gutem Besuch wurden wir schnell und freundlich bedient, die beiden Damen arbeiteten im Laufschritt und dabei mit einem Lächeln. Wir saßen im überdachten Biergarten. Das Essen war sehr gut, wir hatten Rinderbäckchen und Zwiebelrostbraten, danach einen sehr guten Espresso. Gerne besuchen wir das Wissinger Schlechterbräu wieder wenn wir in Lindau sind und geben den Tipp auch weiter.

Wir waren an einem Freitagabend im gut gefüllten Biergarten und mussten überhaupt nicht lange auf unsere Gerichte warten. Sowohl die Ochsenbäckchen, als auch das Wiener Schnitzel waren sensationell! Extra Sauce - kein Problem und sehr freundliche Bedienung. Mehr geht nicht!

We had to come as my family name is also Wissinger! Staff were friendly though unenthused that I shared the same name as the family whom owns the restaurant. Portions were large and delicious. There is a lovely Biergarten in the back of the building which was well shaded with a nice breeze from the lake.

"Schlechterbräu" means "Brewery Schlechter", thus one does not expect such a unusal modern ambience. The beer is very nice, you can even have a tasting, and the food is more on the traditional side but served on modern crockery. Very small wine selection with too few local wines in my opinion albeit at fairly reasonable prices. Service is very effective.

Wonderful food done just the way it should!! So good we are returning again on our last night….pumpkin soup was AMAZING… steak trout and chicken all fantastic and desserts were just beautiful … couldn’t recommend it highly enough

We had the Ochsenbäckle and the Black Angus steak. Both were very good. The salad which came with the steak was also very good. We had an amazing Portuguese wine too. For dessert I had the Crème Brulêe with raspberry sorbet. ‘Ein Traum!' Very good value and staff were so friendly. What a difference that can make!

Can somebody explain why we are only allowed to give nice ratings for this restaurant while it was such a bad experience? Greedy people who charge for a third coffe when you Unfortunately spill yours or it will be charge on the waitress salary. Money, money, money! Nothing to remember about cooking.

We made a reservation for dinner after we found this place in TripAdvisor. When we arrived we found out we already visited the place for lunch on the same day. Surprise. Since the lunch was good and tasty we also wanted to try the dinner card. My wife ordered roasted duck, I tried the German Schmorbraten and a soup. We were both very happy with the quality of the food. Everything was tasty and the service was very efficient. We would come again.

Our friends took us here for dinner one night while we were on holiday on Lindau Insel. Wonderful meal! The spatzle with cheese dish was excellent! Others had schnitzel. Recommend highly. It does tend to get crowded as it seems to be popular, so go early if you want to eat outside (weather permitting).

We ate in this restaurant several times last summer and didn't realize how well it was rated until we came back to Lindau last week. It's high rating is well deserved. We ate in a pleasant, secluded garden area and the service was friendly and efficient. On my most recent visit, I had zwiebelrostbraten with kasespatzle, washed down with local dunkles bier, and it was excellent. Other dishes I saw looked equally appetizing. The restaurant is also very reasonably priced considering the quality of food on offer. Highly recommended!

A few blocks from the lake, Wissingers was a peaceful retreat the night we visited. Excellent food and beer in an outdoor setting, perfect for laughing about the day’s adventures. Bon appetite!

We ate here twice, once in the beer garden and again in the restaurant. The staff are friendly and efficient. The Wissyburger is great and, in asparagus season, the asparagus with hollandaise sauce and potatoes was also great. A limited range of wines by the glass but more available in bottles. Well worth a visit for a casual, easy meal. Off the main drag so quieter.

To start, we felt the ambience was certainly lacking. The waitress was rude and totally disinterested. She was disgusted she had to explain things to Americans. The menu was very limited in selection and what we ordered was poorly prepared. None of the four of us finished their meal. Don't waste your time. I am absolutely shocked this place has such a high rating.
