Onkel Toms Burger in Lindau (Bodensee)

Cozy, quiet, rustic, clean, well-preserved old inn, friendly and above all good food, best flatbread soup!

Four of us were there spontaneously for lunch, all rooms were empty at 1 p.m., only one table with 6 Japanese tourists who obviously only consumed drinks. Kässpätzle were okay, but very unusual with rocket salad (mixed packet from the supermarket), it doesn't really go together. Meat patties were good, and unfortunately potato salad wasn't homemade either - after asking the waiter, it was just "marinated in-house". For a portion of Kässpätzle with salad for € 16.80, you would expect home-made salad in a restaurant and not mixed leaf salad from a package. It's a shame, we won't go there anymore. Even if the rooms are beautifully renovated.

Beautiful old premises. There are several pop art pictures of burgers on the walls. Ironically, the Italian hosts serve burger patties from the frozen food shelf. People chew on rubbery things and regret the senseless death of the bovid. On the other hand, the waitress shines as an Italian and is practically constantly chatting in the kitchen. The fries are great.

Really good meal. Decent portions. And well cooked. What more do you want? Excellent all around.

Small cozy restaurant. Flädlesuppe was delicious. The child enjoyed the chicken wings. Turkey schnitzel was okay, baked in fat. Very hearty cuisine. They were a bit tough.

Great hidden gem my first German meal and one of the best wurst I’ve eaten. Richly savoury and decadent likewise for the Mac n cheese, defo stand out with a hint of umami probably from the cheese. Apple strudel served warm with vanilla cream was a great treat too with chewy crepe that goes hand in hand. Restroom is clean and place has great ambience too

Ordered Kaiserschmarrn for just under €12 and only received a very small, lukewarm portion. The raisins were simply sprinkled on top instead of being in the dough, never seen like that before. Then you wanted to order a tea, but they only have tea in their range from October? Which economy doesn't even have a single type of tea?? So there was hot drink only coffee... Very unusual!

Super nice inn right on Maximilianstrasse on Lindau Island. The food was very tasty, the service was very friendly and attentive, and the price was completely reasonable. We'd love to come back.

Very bad restaurant... one star because I have to give one star. Otherwise it would be 0 stars. You can't talk about service, the boss sits at the table and comfortably drinks his wine, and the guests wait until someone serves them. Absolutely not recommended unless you want to eat badly.

The shop and staff are terrible, we called there to reserve a place outside, they said we don't reserve outside then we'll come there, 2 tables are free and then they said we don't have space for them and called me a liar that I didn't call, 10 minutes later both tables were occupied without reservations, and that just because the service staff didn't feel like putting the tables together and calling their guests liars is the worst thing you can do, no recommendation for this shop

The food is not recommended at all. Turkey schnitzel unseasoned and dry, definitely a ready-made schnitzel. Potato salad also dry and tasteless. Apple juice spritzer with a strange aftertaste. I've never eaten so badly. Service very nice!

The roast pork served was inedible, this consisted of 2/3 fat and the remaining meat was strangely dark and had a terrible aftertaste. As compensation, we were offered dessert, but we had to decline it because unfortunately we had completely lost our appetite. Every cent was worth it here.

We ate outside. The food was good and plentiful. The service friendly and quick. There are steep stairs to the toilet on the first floor.

The three of us had dinner. All three had a burger. Unfortunately, they weren't particularly good. The bacon wasn't crispy, it was just put on the grill for a short time. Some of the paddy meat was not fried and it was definitely not fresh but a ready-made product. Unfortunately the fries were only lukewarm. In response to our criticism, this was brushed off with a yes, yes. Unfortunately we don't recommend eating there.

These were probably the worst currywurst and burger of our lives. The currywurst wasn't a real bratwurst but a reddish sausage with a strange taste, while the "curry sauce" was just a mixture of BBQ sauce with extra sugar. The burger with “juicy organic beef” had a meat quality that would make any cafeteria ashamed. In principle it is simply shameful in every respect, not even the fries are recommended, our mayo was delivered in a bowl including a semi-transparent white secretion. All in all, a very disappointing visit, but I can also say something positive: the drinks were cold.

Top food (white sausage, pretzel, burger), drink. A little waiting time, but top service for 14 people (7 adults, 7 children).

Food was okay, but unfortunately relatively expensive. It was just raining in our area and we sat outside under an umbrella, but to our surprise it was simply folded up, not so great. We probably wouldn't go again.

Does the job. Neither upsetting nor bad. Neither expensive nor cheap. Want a burger? Go there, you will eat well but will not keep any memory of your meal.

Not recommendable. We had to wait over an hour for nuggets and fries, currywurst and Caesar salad without chicken. When we asked the waiter when the food would come, we were told it would be in order. The service wasn't really friendly or accommodating. The statement couldn't be true at all because guests who came after us got their food much sooner. The store wasn't even close to full. The food was inedible. Nuggets half charred, fries dry and the salad with brown spots and more like bread salad with tons of croutons. There are definitely better restaurants.

Waiters are very friendly and the food is very good.

Went to Uncle Tom's. There were 6 of us and 6 small children, some of whom were still sitting/sleeping in the car. There were still a few seats outside, when we were asked whether we could join two tables on the edge together due to our size, we were told no, definitely not... it's a shame and it's not entirely understandable why. In the end, we waited over 40 minutes for our food... When we asked for a slice of bread (after half an hour) because the children were already very impatient, we were brought 5 dry pretzels and of course they were taken into account. I can't explain why it took so long, because the restaurant really wasn't that full and others who came after us had their food before us. So far so good I received my currywurst with fries and didn't know whether to laugh or cry... xxl portion was there. My plate was half empty and I had a small handful of fries. In response to our complaint we received an extra large portion of fries again, which was nice at least. I think I would have gotten more for less money at the booth...

The beaf was a little too thick otherwise there was good service and atmosphere

Outdoor seating okay, beer garden style. The food was plain and cheerless. Alleged side salad with 3 dry leaves. Turkey meat with breading braised in the deep fryer. Plus potato salad from the bucket. Terrible. Staff friendly and quick.

The Maultaschen were from the freezer, dry, tasteless, and not even lukewarm. Inedible for my taste, never again.

We would have loved to see some football here. Unfortunately the waiter was super unfriendly and rude. The weather was rainy and the tables outside were either occupied or wet. We wanted to go inside and he stood in our way and said curtly: "You're not allowed in! Outside or nothing!" Blocked. I wouldn't have written a review if it had been "sorry, we're only serving outside because we don't have enough staff," but I've been annoyed like that all day. So I can't rate the food and ambience. It's better to go to Mike's Irish, where you'll be treated kindly and the food is excellent.

Fries weren't cooked through. Burger tastes underground. They don't even ask if it tasted good...

Overall, very average all in all. The location is of course great in the city center, but the food is not more than ok for the price. Had the Kässpatzen, which were decent but not special. Could have been better cheese or somehow a little more flavorful. Service was decent but not particularly attentive or particularly friendly.

Gave all the food back. We were looking forward to a hearty Bavarian meal. Unfortunately everything from the freezer counter. Warmed up briefly. Salad unwashed. Inedible. No apology from the boss.

Stopped there spontaneously in the afternoon. At first we were alone and had to get a waiter to take the order, but then it all went wrong. The food was good, the burger was very tasty. Price-performance ratio is okay.

The service was quick and friendly, and the outside seating was nice too. Unfortunately the cutlery was very dirty and the service also pointed this out. Unfortunately the soap and towels were also empty in the toilets. The food was okay, the Bueger patty was very hard and the bun fell apart. The Maultaschen were okay, unfortunately there was no sauce or anything like that. Potato salad was good.

We sat outside downstairs, ate and drank. The pedestrian zone was very busy, but that was fine. We had burgers and salad, both were delicious. Toilets are very simple but clean. Prices are okay.

Today we went to the restaurant Uncle Tom's Hut and were more than disappointed 😞. Were there with a young 👦 man in a wheelchair. I politely asked the waiter to open the parasol. It was far from fully occupied and nothing happened. We got our meal burger with fries, these were half raw, the burger was gray and very small. MYaultaschen konviniens! I don't necessarily have to have it, apple spritzer was a cheap product. After we had asked for the parasol 30 minutes in advance, other guests two tables further asked for it, and it was taken care of straight away. I found that very offensive and not okay. Greetings from inclusion. We certainly won't go there anymore.

Beautiful old guest rooms on the 1st floor, a good selection of food (the Bratwürstl and Maultaschen were very tasty), friendly and fast service and everything at a very fair price - perfect for us.

Had an apple strudel with vanilla sauce, Father-in-law: fried meatloaf with fried egg. My apple stoodle was only partially warm and really "gooey" - certainly not fresh. It was the worst apple stoodle I've ever eaten so far. Vanilla custard was definitely vanilla pudding from the packet and not 2 tablespoons. Maybe I'm used to things differently as a Viennese. (At €7.90, I think it's a disgrace.) Father-in-law had to wait quite a long time for his food and the egg was definitely not a fried egg. On top of that, he unfortunately had diarrhea that evening. Unfortunately I can't recommend it.

We ate burgers with fries and it tasted great. You could tell that the quality of the food was very high and the fries were very tasty and the burger was big. The service is also really good. The waiter was very attentive and friendly. It's nice to sit outside. I can only recommend the restaurant😊We would love to come back when we are in Lindau👍🏻

Description: The quality of our products is clearly noticeable and tasteable: We get our meat from organic butchers in Upper Swabia, our vegetables from Lake Constance, our potatoes from southern Germany and our cheese from the Allgäu (Uncle Toms Burger, n.d., website: About Us). Personal experience: The burgers and the service were good, but the “French fries” included in the normal menu were not tasty for me and my companion and should be replaced with real fries. Price-performance ratio: The prices are suitable for organic products.

One of the many hip burger joints that are everywhere. The menu is very confusing and you have to read everything three times until you know what kind of topping is actually hidden behind the burger names. I had a bacon burger with avocado and they should have written "may contain traces of bacon" in the description. The three bacon bits can't be serious (see picture). There were also fries in a hip frying cage. The three fries that fit in there at least tasted good. Not worth it for the money

Were there on Sunday at around 7 p.m. Starter (nachos with cheese gratin + guacamole, cheese sauce, sour cream sauce) was OK. The burgers: in mine the meat was gray and tough and there were two different types of cheese in it. Once a melted slice of cheese and once an almost 1 cm thick Edam slice. My partner's burger: he ordered a "fiery" burger with chili sauce. Who knows the sweet chili sauce from the Chinese? That was the chili sauce advertised. The cucumber slices were also over 1cm thick. The kicker, however, was the meat. He had 2 minced meat patties. One was gray, the other was pink. Cost 46€. We will definitely never see this restaurant again.

Our group's spontaneous visit was not equally well received by everyone. Unfortunately we didn't have a good evening at Uncle Tom's. The burger wasn't really warm and in our opinion (we regularly make beef burgers ourselves) the meat patty wasn't beef. When asked, the waiter assured us that it was beef. Statement against statement, unfortunately the taste was not convincing.

All burgers can also be gluten-free, great! Super organic meat quality. Very attentive and friendly staff.

Great burgers. The Cheddar zarella was really good along with the sweet potato fries. The Hausmeister was also really good! Loved the music and atmosphere of the place. Service was quick. We’d come again!

Sehr schöne Gegend 👍 und es gibt leckere Burger zum Essen. Sogar vegan und vegan Burger gibt es auch. Bedienung freundlich.

Decent burger but not anything special! It certainly doesn’t justify the prices.

Vergleicht man dieses Burger Restaurant mit den bekannten (Hans im Glück, McDonalds etc…) , dann würde ich nach dem probieren dieses Burgers definitiv die Ketten vorziehen. Dieser Besuch war leider enttäuschend. Mehr Schein als sein, dazu sehr teuer.

Vriendelijke bediening, lekkere spareribs, burgers waren oke. De frites waren slecht, koud en te kort gebakken.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir sind im Gastgarten gesessen. Das Essen bekamen wir sehr rasch. Die Burger waren sehr lecker und die Süßkartoffelpommes knusprig.

La viande est une espèce de purée de viande reconstituée bouillie façon selle de cheval avec un mauvais goût. Le burger le plus mauvais que nous ayons mangé. Beaucoup trop d’éloges pour cette adresse et le services était très long.

Freundliches Personal aber das wars auch schon. Die Pattys sind von keiner guten Qualität und waren auch nicht richtig durch gebraten. Dafür 17€ zu verlangen ist schon dreist.
