We chose the restaurant based on your reviews. Couldn't find prices anywhere. They are not small. Dinner without wine cost us 170 € without tip. We ordered 4 Gang dinner. Everything is very unusual, but delicious. Deer meat is a delight! Not big portions, but we were full in the end. Very large selection of wines, but we don't drink alcohol. The staff is very friendly, the food is served on time, there is time to talk. We were satisfied, it was like an attraction, something completely new - haute cuisine. Wir haben dann einen anderen bestellt. Wieder nach ein paar Minuten sagte sie, sie haben diesen Wein leider auch nicht da (sie tat mir eh leid). Bei der dritten Flasche klappte es dann und einer durfte vorher auch vom Wein probieren. Wir hatten noch nichts zum Essen auf dem Tisch, und es verging bis dahin schon etwas Zeit. Dann kam eine Platte mit Brot und versch. Aufstrichen, diese waren sehr gut. Dann die Vorspeisen - alle schmeckten wunderbar. Ich bestellte keine Vorspeise, da mir eigentlich die Hauptspeise immer reicht. Als dann die Hauptspeisen kamen, dachte ich mir (ich esse keine grossen Mengen), dass es vielleicht doch besser gewesen wäre, auch eine Vorspeise zu bestellen. Für unseren Geschmack waren die Portionen, vor allem auch für den Preis, zu klein. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Nach der Weingeschichte zu Beginn wäre es nett gewesen, wenn am Schluss nach einem Espresso aufs Haus oder ähnlichem gefragt worden wäre, oder wenn wenigstens jeder einen Probierschluck vom Wein bekommen hätte (wir bestellten dann 2 Flaschen). Ansonsten war alles sehr gut. Aufgrund der kleinen Hauptspeisen und dass es offenbar darauf ausgelegt ist, dass man mind. eine Vorspeise bestellen muss, um bei Hunger wirklich satt zu sein, und das mit dem Wein ziehen wir einen Punkt ab.

Cold food and even colder service - never again. Anyone who likes cold food and outrageously arrogant service will feel at home here. I have a clear recommendation for everyone else: Find another restaurant. It was the only restaurant on Lindau Island that was open from 4 p.m. on Saturday. We thought we were lucky - but the opposite was true. We went in - no staff in sight. There were a lot of guests on the upper deck (five six square meters), so we opted for a table in the lower area. It wasn't until seven minutes later that we saw a waitress. No “Hello”, no smile. As she walked past with a tray full of drinks, she hissed something like, “That’s not how it works.” And went on... I thought she was bothered by our two Yorkshire terriers - pretty minis in pink coats and fur collars. We wanted to leave, but my son was hungry. So we stayed. In retrospect, a mistake. A few minutes later, the same waitress came over and aggressively placed the cutlery on the side table with a theatrical sigh. I asked if there was a problem. She replied that the lower part (70 percent of the restaurant) had to be reserved. Unfortunately there was no sign at the entrance and the tables were in no way marked as reserved. Then the waitress asked us: “You just want something to drink, right?” “No, we want to eat,” I replied. "This table is reserved from 6 p.m., so you should be ready in an hour and a half." A good way to scare away the guests. I assured her that we would definitely make it. I didn't plan on staying any longer than necessary. But when the food came, the next disappointment: sirloin steak, beautifully prepared - but cold and tasteless. The meat was so tough I had to spit out pieces. The only bright spot was the house wine spritzer. All the tables around us were empty. So many reservations and not a single guest? Nice for the staff, but what does the landlord say about it? Can't you use a few more guests during Advent, when Lindau Island is bursting at the seams? As I said - the lower floor of the restaurant remained empty. Only one couple came and, amazingly, the word reservation was never mentioned. The only difference between them and us was that they stood obediently for a few minutes waiting for the waitress to notice them. She came by several times and announced that she would take care of her immediately. Finally, she gave people from a distance permission to choose a table. When you pay more for a meal you expect: hot food, taste and a minimum of politeness. There was none of that here. Instead, we were treated badly for no reason. As a tourist, I'm not a cash cow, but rather a person who has emotions and wants to enjoy the Christmas season while eating. An Advent trip to Lindau should be contemplative for us - not frustrating. What I find strangest is that in a time when everyone can write reviews on the internet, service in a restaurant is so impossible. I suspect that the restaurant isn't that important to her. How can you even afford to treat your guests like that? PS: And the ladies' room? It smelled like mold. I don't want to go into details, but that alone would be a reason to avoid this restaurant.

Wine was excellent, we had a bottle of local grüner veltliner at 39€, a great option versus 15€ to 30€ by the glass. The definite highlight of the evening was Eileen, our server. She was warm, welcoming and very professional despite an otherwise stiff atmosphere.

39 EUR (!!!!) for well water??? Pretty outrageous! First of all: Valentin has been one of my favorite restaurants so far. Great atmosphere, food always good, portions okay, service usually good, overall something special! It's not for nothing that we were recently there with 10pax for a birthday party and spent well over 1000 EUR. In addition to the starter and main course, champagne, plenty of bottled wine, schnapps, etc. were also drunk. It didn't bother us that we were the only guests in the restaurant all evening. And then the bill came... 6.50 EUR for a carafe of water from the tap - the whole thing is then charged 6 times, i.e. 39 EUR invoiced. When we politely asked, we were bluntly informed by the waitress that she didn't set the prices. Instead of her just reacting. No decision-making authority among employees, big disappointment! That's not possible, it has nothing to do with customer service and a sense of what's appropriate (and what's not!)! Conclusion: With this campaign, the restaurant lost 10 (potential) customers in one fell swoop.

Starters were really nothing special (no salt on the tuna, bland baked oysters), the wine selection (Gewürztraminer?) didn't go well at all - you'd rather drink it with foie gras. Wrong glasses (wine glasses) for the Kir Royal, greetings from the kitchen came after the starter - they had forgotten. We were a bit surprised where the Michelin stars come from.

In a kind of minestrone without any fishy taste, there was a scallop and shrimp sticks breaded on the edge!! The sweetbread florets were okay, but the mashed potatoes were completely over-perfumed with artificial truffle oil. The slices of deer seemed warmed up and were completely dry around the edges. The titular gnocchi with cheese filling and tomato ragout is downright inedible. They were completely soggy Pfanni-style potato dumplings in a disgustingly thick gravy?? without any tomato taste... We were stunned, paid over €170 and days later we were still shaking our heads at the memory of these dishes. The culinary highlight was the bread, which was served after 45 minutes of waiting. So whoever was in the kitchen that evening had lost all good cooking spirits...

This was our third time at the Valentin restaurant. The food is very good. Unfortunately, despite asking twice, we didn't get any bread, unlike all the other tables that were occupied. The aperitif that we had ordered to accompany the menu was also forgotten. We were a bit disappointed and saw a slight drop in the level and increased prices.

Zubereitet mit Liebe und Können und hübsch und ohne Effekthascherei angerichtet. Die Weinempfehlungen zu jedem einzelnen Gericht sind passend und absolut bemerkenswert. Das haben wir so noch kaum erlebt. Ein gelungener Abend - danke an das Valentin-Team. Wir kommen wieder.

Were there last year. The small backyard was sooooo cozy back then and the food was a dream. The service was also perfect. After raving about it for a long time, it was worth coming a second time. As expected, it was another culinary delight. A big compliment also goes to Ms. Müller, who rounded off the evening with her friendliness and professionalism. We will come again

Essen gut, Personal gefordert, Weinauswahl groß. Längere Wartezeiten. Die Speisen waren durchwegs gut, aber nicht außergewöhnlich, die Portionen groß genug.

The food is exceptionally tasty, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is very cozy. The starters were delicious, the main courses were well seasoned and the Black Forest Cherry dessert was a great surprise.

Ein tolles kleines Lokal, sehr modernes, stylisches Interior. Besonders netter Empfang, man war den ganzen Abend gut umsorgt, allerdings sollte man Zeit mitbringen. Wir genießen es sehr, wenn man zwischen den Gängen Zeit hat und der Tisch nicht doppelt oder sogar dreifach belegt wird. Das Essen war kreativ und sehr schmackhaft. Die Bouillabaisse eine Offenbarung, die Seezunge ein Geschmackserlebnis, so zubereitet habe ich sie noch nie gegessen… köstlich. Der Nachtisch fiel auch nicht ab, ein Zitronenbaiser Törtchen mit Mango Sorbet, delicious. Wenn wir mal wieder in Lindau sind, kommen wir gerne wieder und lassen uns auch den liebevoll angerichteten Limoncello Spritz und die gut ausgesuchten Weine schmecken. Danke den beiden Damen und dem Herrn, die den Abend für uns zu einem Wohlfühlabend gemacht haben 🙏🏻 Good job

The food and wine were actually good, but: unfocused service, wrong deliveries of what was ordered, hardly any possibility of re-ordering wine because there was simply no one near the table, if you ordered you had to be patient until it was served. Polite and friendly worded “hints” about this were responded to in a “crude and mushy” manner. Only recommended if you don't value "adequate" service, top service is hardly available in our local restaurants anyway.
