We were at the Christmas market in Lindau on a rainy Sunday evening. Wet and hungry, we got a table at Valentin. And then the evening took a pleasant turn! The service was professional and friendly. The food was a delight! Szeged goulash with catfish hammer! The wines have been put together with a lot of expertise and the digestives are impressive. So totally recommended! All thumbs up!!

39 EUR (!!!!) for well water??? Pretty outrageous! First of all: Valentin has been one of my favorite restaurants so far. Great atmosphere, food always good, portions okay, service usually good, overall something special! It's not for nothing that we were recently there with 10pax for a birthday party and spent well over 1000 EUR. In addition to the starter and main course, champagne, plenty of bottled wine, schnapps, etc. were also drunk. It didn't bother us that we were the only guests in the restaurant all evening. And then the bill came... 6.50 EUR for a carafe of water from the tap - the whole thing is then charged 6 times, i.e. 39 EUR invoiced. When we politely asked, we were bluntly informed by the waitress that she didn't set the prices. Instead of her just reacting. No decision-making authority among employees, big disappointment! That's not possible, it has nothing to do with customer service and a sense of what's appropriate (and what's not!)! Conclusion: With this campaign, the restaurant lost 10 (potential) customers in one fell swoop.

Wir hatten das 5 Gänge Menü mit Weinbegleitung. Jeder Gang ein kulinarisches Erlebnis. ( Super Idee mit dem Buttermilchcurry !! ) Der Service war ausgezeichnet. Die Weinbegleitung gut erklärt. Das Ambiente ist ebenfalls gelungen. Wir werden sicher wiederkommen und an unsere Freunde weiterempfehlen.

Service rather inattentive. The idea that a whole table only gets the menu is annoying (2 out of 3 wanted the menu, which the waitress refused). Something like that has GDR governess vibes, including the fact that our bill would have been higher overall if we had two menus - and no one would have noticed if an exception to 'the rule' had been made. Starters were really nothing special (no salt on the tuna, bland baked oysters), the wine selection (Gewürztraminer?) didn't go well at all - you'd rather drink it with foie gras. Wrong glasses (wine glasses) for the Kir Royal, greetings from the kitchen came after the starter - they had forgotten. We were a bit surprised where the Michelin stars come from.

Nicely located in the pedestrian zone. The service was very nice and friendly. Nice, diverse wine list. We had a really great white wine that was over 20 years old. A real highlight. Food is good, absolutely okay - not an absolute Highlight in terms of culinary art but there is certainly still room for improvement. There's more going on. It's also a bit of a shame that the menu is only offered by the table and courses from the menu cannot be ordered a la carte (I've seen this much more flexible from 2-star restaurants).

I didn't like it and I wasn't impressed by the service either. Had dinner there with the family. The skin course was mutton-flavoured lamb with bland couscous. The espresso was over-roasted for me and the dessert was a disgrace. Artificial tasting foam covered in chocolate and an ice ball that tastes like water. The condition also didn't ask me if I enjoyed the food. I'm not coming back.

We had a wonderful evening on our wedding day in a very relaxed atmosphere with delicious food. The combinations are great and we enjoyed every course of the Wine & Dine menu excellently. The waitress was very attentive and we didn't miss anything. The selection and information about the wine pairing were also very good. I was particularly thrilled that my wife was offered a non-alcoholic alternative to wine accompaniment due to her pregnancy; So much choice of suitable alternatives is anything but self-evident. The price level is completely reasonable, if you eat, drink and celebrate the evening very well, you are in good hands here. We would love to come back on our next visit to Lindau!

Fine dining in Lindau. Top food and top service you can spend a very nice evening here with a top price/performance ratio. Unfortunately, I have to deduct one star because I think that with such a great ambience, the food and wine list have no place in ready-made cocktails (some of them are homemade, so I would forego the ready-made ones)

The ambience is certainly a matter of taste, we liked it, and the wine list and selection is very lovingly designed. But the food we were served that evening is not a matter of taste. If you read other reviews here with statements like: we have never eaten so well, something must have happened in the kitchen that evening because we have rarely eaten so badly. Steak tartare was of poor quality, tough and over-seasoned. The titular bouillabaisse left you completely stunned. In a kind of minestrone without any fishy taste, there was a scallop and shrimp sticks breaded on the edge!! The sweetbread florets were okay, but the mashed potatoes were completely over-perfumed with artificial truffle oil. The slices of deer seemed warmed up and were completely dry around the edges. The titular gnocchi with cheese filling and tomato ragout is downright inedible. They were completely soggy Pfanni-style potato dumplings in a disgustingly thick gravy?? without any tomato taste... We were stunned, paid over €170 and days later we were still shaking our heads at the memory of these dishes. The culinary highlight was the bread, which was served after 45 minutes of waiting. So whoever was in the kitchen that evening had lost all good cooking spirits...

Service and atmosphere good but must have found a replacement chef or something similar this evening: 35€ truffle pasta without fresh truffles, chanterelles watery and oversalted, tuna tartare gray!?!?! Absolutely cannot be compared with the photos here on Google. 130€ for a really bad dinner for 2 people. I'm very disappointed!

This was our third time at the Valentin restaurant. The food is very good. Unfortunately, despite asking twice, we didn't get any bread, unlike all the other tables that were occupied. The aperitif that we had ordered to accompany the menu was also forgotten. We were a bit disappointed and saw a slight drop in the level and increased prices.

Were there last year. The small backyard was sooooo cozy back then and the food was a dream. The service was also perfect. After raving about it for a long time, it was worth coming a second time. As expected, it was another culinary delight. A big compliment also goes to Ms. Müller, who rounded off the evening with her friendliness and professionalism. We will come again

Essen gut, Personal gefordert, Weinauswahl groß. Längere Wartezeiten. Die Speisen waren durchwegs gut, aber nicht außergewöhnlich, die Portionen groß genug.

The food is exceptionally tasty, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is very cozy. The starters were delicious, the main courses were well seasoned and the Black Forest Cherry dessert was a great surprise.

Ein tolles kleines Lokal, sehr modernes, stylisches Interior. Besonders netter Empfang, man war den ganzen Abend gut umsorgt, allerdings sollte man Zeit mitbringen. Wir genießen es sehr, wenn man zwischen den Gängen Zeit hat und der Tisch nicht doppelt oder sogar dreifach belegt wird. Das Essen war kreativ und sehr schmackhaft. Die Bouillabaisse eine Offenbarung, die Seezunge ein Geschmackserlebnis, so zubereitet habe ich sie noch nie gegessen… köstlich. Der Nachtisch fiel auch nicht ab, ein Zitronenbaiser Törtchen mit Mango Sorbet, delicious. Wenn wir mal wieder in Lindau sind, kommen wir gerne wieder und lassen uns auch den liebevoll angerichteten Limoncello Spritz und die gut ausgesuchten Weine schmecken. Danke den beiden Damen und dem Herrn, die den Abend für uns zu einem Wohlfühlabend gemacht haben 🙏🏻 Good job

The food and wine were actually good, but: unfocused service, wrong deliveries of what was ordered, hardly any possibility of re-ordering wine because there was simply no one near the table, if you ordered you had to be patient until it was served. Polite and friendly worded “hints” about this were responded to in a “crude and mushy” manner. Only recommended if you don't value "adequate" service, top service is hardly available in our local restaurants anyway.

Wir hatten einen Tisch mind. 2 Wochen vorher reserviert und um einen schönen Tisch gebeten. Als wir ankamen, war der Tisch der uns zugewiesen wurde nicht eingedeckt. Den Tisch war nicht sonderlich schön. Auf Nachfrage durften wir an einen anderen freien aber schönerem Tisch nicht sitzen. Das Essen war gut, wenn auch mit dem Preis an der Grenze des Leistungsverhältnisses. Die Bedienung war war zudem überlastet. 3,5 von 5.

Sehr ansprechendes, stilvolles Ambiente, vielfältige Möglichkeiten auch in einer Gruppe gemütlich einen Abend zu verbringen. Die Karte beinhaltet vielfältige Gerichte, vegetarisch ist nicht ein "Fleischgericht ohne Fleisch", alles ist individuell zubereitet und liebevoll arrangiert. Einziger und auch gravierender Nachteil: die lange Dauer der Zubereitung wird nirgendwo im voraus kommuniziert, Sie müssen viel Geduld bzw. interessante Gesprächspartner mitbringen ;) Leider ist der Kellner trotz seiner guten Laune und seinem freundlichen Lächeln ebenfalls überfordert, seine Antworten auf Kritik sind spitz und uneinsichtig. Schade. Wir haben das eine Mal dort essen genossen, müssen nicht wieder dorthin.

Nous avons pris notre repas en utilisant les Yumms. Le restaurant est dans le centre historique avec une belle petite terrasse. La carte des vins est très impressionnante. La carte change tous les jours avec des options pour les végétariens. Les plats était très bien présentés et très bons. La viande était excellente. Nous n’avons pas testé les desserts. À recommander si vous êtes de passage sur Lindau.

We had our meal using Yumms. The restaurant is in the historic center with a beautiful little terrace. The wine list is very impressive. The menu changes daily with options for vegetarians. The dishes were very well presented and very good. The meat was excellent. We did not try the desserts. Recommended if you are passing through Lindau.

Wir waren vor einigen Jahren bereits zu Gast im Valentin. Das erste Mal vor ca. 9 Jahren. Das Restaurant hat sich vom Stil her über die Jahre weiterentwickelt bzw. Den Rahmenbedingungen angepasst. "Wine & Dine" bringt es hervorragend auf den Punkt. Das Angebot an offenen Weinen ist unübertroffen hier in Lindau. Dabei wirklich tolle Qualitäten zu humanen Preisen. Das Flaschenweinsortiment ist wirklich groß für so ein kleines Restaurant. Man findet neben Heimischen Weinen, so ziemlich jeden großen Wein aus Italien, weitere Internationale Hochkaräter und einige interessante Nischenregionen, welche man nicht überall findet. Sachsen Weine z.b.. Wir hatten uns a la carte 4 Gänge zusammengestellt. Alle Gerichte waren toll angerichtet, auf den Punkt gegart & abgeschmeckt. Die Preise sind für die Qualität und Portionsgrößen der Speisen durchaus fair. Wir werden sicherlich wiederkommen und können einen Besuch mit bestem Gewissen empfehlen! Weiter so!

Leider etwas unkonzentrierter Service, haben 90 Minuten auf unsere Seezungen gewartet, dann kam der Wein erst nach Erinnerung zum Endes des Essens. We actually just wanted to have a glass of wine. Very appealing atmosphere. Then ordered an appetizer. We felt so comfortable :) Then another main course. We ended up staying with Valentin for 4 hours. The highlight of a rainy day in Lindau.

Wir hatten ein Abendessen im Valentin gebucht. Leider ist der Service absolut nicht auf "fine dining" Niveau. Unterbesetzt, lange Wartezeiten, etc. Wir sind echt enttäuscht worden. Für ein Restaurant mit 420 Positionen Wein sollte zudem ein fachkundiger Sommelier anwesend sein, der beratend unterstützt. Leider nein. Wir werden das Valentin nicht mehr aufsuchen, auch wenn die Qualität der Speisen in Ordnung (aber auch nicht fine dining) ist.

Wir waren zu weit zum Abendessen im Valentin. Man sitzt sehr schön im geschmackvoll renovierten Gewölbekeller. Die Speisen waren sehr lecker. Alles in allem war es ein netter Abend, allerdings mit zwei kleinen Einschränkungen. Die Seezunge für 35€ war leider sehr klein und eher eine Vorspeisengrösse... wenn wir uns nicht zwei Vorspeisen geteilt hätten als Starter, sicherlich zu wenig. Um 21:30 Uhr waren wir die letzten Gäste und hatten das Gefühl "schnell" fertig werden zu müssen, damit das Personal Feierabend machen kann.

Disaster… 2 hours and only the starters. The bruschetta had mayonnaise on it and so an allergy attack was triggered by the egg in the mayonnaise!!

Wir waren an einem Abend da an dem kaum was los war. Insofern keine Stimmung, aber dafür kann das Restaurant nichts. Interieur sehr schön, Service freundlich bemüht, Weinempfehlung traf genau unseren Geschmack. Leider war der Hauptgang nur lauwarm, auch wenn es geschmacklich ok war aber so hat es einfach keinen Spaß gemacht das zu essen.

The Valentin welcomes you with a warm, cozy and yet modern ambience, with comfortable seating and beautiful wooden tables. The food is exquisite and you can feel the love of culinary delights with every course. And the Valentin remains extremely inexpensive, I would even say that it is significantly superior to other restaurants in the same price segment - or to put it another way: it should charge a lot more (although I appreciate it when delicious cuisine is not exorbitantly expensive .) There are also delicious wines available by the glass. Gluten-free is easily possible because it is freshly cooked. Gluten-free bread was available. I am very enthusiastic and would like to come back when I am in Lindau again.

Was visiting with my girlfriend for my birthday. I mentioned when making the reservation that we would like to have the 7-course menu and the vegetarian 4-course menu. Each of these courses was not only incredibly tasty, but also beautifully presented and well explained by the friendly service staff. The bread (which is served in half a wine bottle, a real eye-catcher) and the salted butter served with it were also fantastic. The highlight of the evening for me was the “Oyster Beef Tartare”. A beef tartare served in an oyster, including this one, on a bed of stones and decorative seaweed. You sit in a cozy atmosphere, great wine selection. Great service. Definitely worth a visit. We are regular guests of fine dining restaurants, including being guests at Noma in Copenhagen. This year we were also able to get a table for the Vegetable Season. When we arrive at Valentin, we see a book called Noma behind one of our seats. We take this to our table in anticipation. As soon as we opened it, the waitress came to our table and frantically pulled the book out of our hands with a brusque remark that the boss had instructed that the guests were not allowed to touch the books behind the seats in the row of benches. Without words... at that moment we would have liked to leave, but wanted to give the restaurant a chance. The service didn't get any better later in the evening. The food, on the other hand, was extremely good, especially compared to the regional cuisine of the competition. However, we cannot recommend Valentin, as fine dining involves more than just excellent food. The furnishings weren't right for our taste either. We very much regret this review as we were looking forward to a wonderful evening. We really hope that Valentin trains its service staff better so that the entire experience is harmonious.

The valentin fine dining on Lindau Island is a real culinary delight! The combination of innovation, fantasy and quality is evident in every dish. The fillet steak was very tasty and tender, but the hip tagliata was unfortunately very tough and I had to return half of it. I don't think that's acceptable for the price. The drink replenishment hardly existed. We skipped dessert because we were afraid we would have to wait another hour for this course. A pity!!! We were actually hoping for more for the money!

The food was reasonbly tasty. We liked the cheese and pasta. It is all kinda slow - takes 3 hours for 3 dishes, but that is also probably fine. Expensive, but that was kinda expected. But what was not expected is that we were charged 89 Euros for 3 glasses of wine (3x0.1 wine paring). When I have mentioned that that is probably mistake, I was told there is no mistake. Just when I showed the website, and the much lower price there, 89 euros transformed into 40 euros. In the best case this is incompetence, and this does not feel good, especially for the restaurant of that level. PS: The owner commented that 89 euros are 3 courses with 3 wines however this is not correct - I was charged WITH 89 Euros for just wines!!! (without food) This can be easily seen from the bill. Food costs 2x49 Euros. This is kinda the same that happened yesterday - they do not understand the situation but already start to argue =)
