Even at the end of October, I was able to stop here and enjoy the afternoon in the warm conservatory with a fantastic view of the sea and the passing ships. The food was delicious and the beer was perfectly poured.

Great location; you can't get much better in Cuxhaven in the fall, sitting and dining with a view of the ships. The food is okay, rather average, and unfortunately not as great as the view of the beach and sea. I'll be back, but more for coffee and cake than for lunch or dinner.

We were on the outdoor terrace in the morning and received very friendly service. After looking at the menu, we reserved a table for the evening. Unfortunately, our reservation was forgotten, and we were crammed into a table for 12. It was very hot in the conservatory, and the air was very bad. The food was at best snack bar level; my redfish fillet was very thin and very dry. A shame.

The view of the beach is, of course, unbeatable. Unfortunately, the service is the exact opposite. The waitress didn't listen, simply ordered the food, and then both the coffee and the meal were brought without fries. After complaining, they then charged an additional 4.50 for the fries.

Friendly and fast service in the outdoor area. The food and drinks were served quickly. There was no charge for changing our order from potato salad to fries. They were very friendly to our granddaughter, and we even got a lollipop at the end. The only downside was that the cocktails weren't to our taste.

The food and cocktails are delicious, and the view is wonderful, especially at sunset. BUT: the service is abysmal; after 6 p.m., everyone just wants to call it a night, and it's clearly noticeable. Food is sold out, even though hot meals are supposedly served until 8 p.m. Tables are blocked off and guests are fobbed off. The girls try their best, but one waiter in particular is completely uninterested in his job. Unfortunately, there's no vacation feeling at all. It's a real shame, because the food and view are top-notch. We decided to find somewhere nicer.

While walking along the beach, we passed this visually stunning beach bar. We grabbed a table outside because it was very busy. The view of the sea and the passing boats was truly fantastic. The service came after about 5 minutes. We ordered drinks and ice cream, which also came quickly, and you have to pay immediately at the tables outside. We wanted to order something later, but no one came. Despite hand signals and attempts to speak, we were ignored. Then a waitress at the next table was clearing the dishes. We approached her again to say we wanted to order. Her response was, "I won't do it, I don't have an ordering device with me. I'll let the waitress in charge know immediately." After 20 minutes, no one came. Then the waitress walked past us, we were approached again, and were completely ignored. Another 15 minutes passed. We then got up and left. It's a shame, since the 2 stars are only for the great view and the ambiance (seating).

The location is great. Service is okay. The ice cream parlor is a bad joke. They didn't even serve a plate. The restrooms are also public restrooms. There are few seats outside, and the air inside is like a greenhouse. Next time, I'd rather go to Björn's Beach House, 10 minutes away.

When I read the other reviews, I don't understand what the problem was for us. We had to chase after the menu. When it was brought, we should have been able to take our drink orders. That's how it is for me. But then no one came. The place wasn't crowded, and others who came after us were also served promptly. So I let them know again that we'd like to order, but that wasn't really the right thing to do. We were hardly spoken to, and I didn't feel welcome at all. The crowning glory was the pressed, standard schnitzel from the deep fryer. It was edible, but the price of €17.90 is completely excessive.

The food is okay. The cocktails (Pina Colada) are great, but they don't have to be extended with ice cubes! Unfortunately, they're out of Duckstein :( Such a shame. Very friendly, attentive staff.

Here, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the mudflats while eating. Both of our dishes (see pictures) were very good. The prices were reasonable. We would order again. We received prompt and friendly service, and the food arrived very quickly after ordering. The dessert, a soft serve, wasn't exactly a standout—I've had better soft serve. Highly recommended. 4.3 stars

We just stopped in here on our walk. The kids wanted a soft-serve ice cream sundae for €8.90. It was a steep price, but it would have been okay if the strawberry sauce hadn't tasted so awful – the raspberry one was incredibly delicious! When I spoke to the waitress, she simply left without saying a word. She came back a few minutes later to say she'd just eaten a whole spoonful of the homemade sauce and it was delicious. No concessions, no replacement, and not even friendly...a shame for such a great location in such a mega place.

Strandhaus, Cuxhaven-Döse ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ A very nice restaurant with a great atmosphere – especially if you get a seat right by the window with a view of the beach and the sea. Tip: Be sure to make a reservation in advance, as these seats are very popular. The staff is friendly and attentive, although it can take a little longer when the place is full – but they usually manage it very well and make a lot of effort. The cuisine is really good, the food delicious, and the value for money is overall decent. My only criticism: The ice cream is quite expensive. We asked if we could get a scoop to go, and I found the price a bit steep. All in all, a highly recommended place to eat and relax – especially for those who want to enjoy a great view.

We escaped to Cuxhaven-Döse in the intense heat! It was busy, but we snagged a free table right away! Friendly service was prompt, and we ordered calamari. A large portion arrived quickly, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. We were able to enjoy the view of the mudflats and the sea! We're already dreaming of the next time!

We shared an overpriced, non-alcoholic wheat beer there for €6.50. That means for two wheat beers here, I can get a whole case at the liquor store. No, guys, that's not possible.

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience. Coffee, cake, and ice cream in the afternoon was OK. After a walk, we went back to the beach bar for dinner. We ordered drinks outside and then tried to order food. It turned into... I can't describe it. A rip-off? We tried to order food for 40 minutes. We even tried to order from the staff in the restaurant but it didn't work out. The reply, "We'll be out in a minute," was probably meant as a joke, because some of the guests inside arrived some time after us. Eventually, a server finally came. Our order was taken and we were told that there was still a portion of salmon left, but that it might take a while until all the guests inside had been served. We declined politely and ended up in a great Italian restaurant on the beach road, where we had an excellent meal.

The halibut was amazing, and the fried potatoes were fantastic. Tip Top

If there are more customers than unlocked tables, the waiter should not say "locked tables are not served"; it would be better to unlock the tables...

Personally, I find it expensive, especially for families. I asked for a coffee to go, as advertised, but was rudely told that they didn't have it. Not really recommended.

Wir wollten die Kugelbake besichtigen und parkten in der Nähe. Mittags suchten wir ein Restaurant in Strandnähe. Im Wintergarten waren noch frei Plätze. Wir bestellten Röstis mit Lachs und eine Ofenkartoffel mit Lachs. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und bediente uns schnell. Die Aussicht auf den Strand war gut. Jeder nahm noch 1 Getränk. Für die Lage waren die Preise von rund 18,00 € im Rahmen.

Unfortunately, our visit to this restaurant was very disappointing. Upon entering, we were rudely told to find a table ourselves – not a problem per se, but the tone was anything but inviting. After we were seated, we were ignored for 15 minutes. All the other tables around us were served, but we were neither greeted nor asked if we wanted to order. Even when we tried to get attention, we continued to be ignored. Ultimately, we left empty-handed. We find this kind of treatment of guests incomprehensible.

Something that has been bothering me for a long time: There are no menu items and prices posted anywhere in the restaurant, neither inside nor outside!! I think this is illegal. The Limoncello Spritz for €8.50 was okay in itself, but it was far from a Limoncello Spritz. It was some kind of sweet lemon syrup with a dash of alcohol, and then, instead of Prosecco, it was topped with M&Ms. The currywurst was okay.
