Steakhouse La Plaza in Leverkusen

Very nice welcome, attentive service, and a uniquely good fillet steak. Unfortunately, the Iberico pork medallions weren't nearly as good. But the map is big enough for the next visit...

We were there with 6 people and everything tasted excellent. The fillet steaks in particular were perfectly prepared. The service is very good and the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating.

Unfortunately we had to wait a very long time - for every course. Regardless of whether it was a main course or a dessert, you didn't automatically ask if you wanted anything else. Sometimes the entire table (20 people) had nothing to drink - at the end there were supposed to be small schnapps on the house - unfortunately we never got anything. Unfortunately service only one star. The service came across as very unfriendly.

Very clean and well-kept steakhouse in the heart of Opladen, located directly on the market square. You can also park easily there. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. The service is very friendly and you feel welcome. The food is of very good quality and the price-performance ratio is okay. When the restaurant is busy, the noise level is a little higher, but La Plaza is definitely recommended and an absolute must if you have a craving for steak.

Unfortunately there was a lot of decline... We were there yesterday, left over €300. First the positives: the starters were great. Now the main problem: we ordered tomahawk steak twice, both completely raw on the inside. Then we complained about it, it was taken away without a word and then brought back completely fried and tough. Sorry for a steakhouse this was a complete failure. The best thing is that we actually came for the Wagyu steak, which wasn't there at all, so the question of why it's on the menu is a no go! Even at the end there was no apology or anything. €330 is a huge figure and definitely far too much for this poor performance.

The positive thing is the good food and the price-performance ratio is very good. The negative thing is the service and dealing with a larger group, the staff is completely overwhelmed, they literally throw the bread basket on people's plates, it's rude and the billing isn't correct at the end. And then for no reason to rudely say “You can’t get out of here if the bill isn’t paid in full”… simply impossible when dealing with guests. We are of the opinion that the staff miscalculated and that we as guests had to keep a tally of our drinks ourselves. It's not possible... Conclusion: due to the poor treatment of guests, the restaurant will never see us again

Friendly staff, large selection of dishes, price-performance ratio for some dishes very fair, but also expensive for individual dishes for what you get. The Gorgonzola sauce tastes like a ready-made sauce. The porterhouse steak was cheap, but also tough and tasteless. Overall it was tasty, it just doesn't stand out from other steakhouses.

Ordered steak for over €30, but had no chance of getting tap water - very sad and only worth 1 star for me, even though the food was delicious.

The beef fillet was really good. Unfortunately the tuna steak wasn't good at all, very thin and dry and didn't taste good. I had 2/3 returned. Service wasn't good today, had to go to the front twice to reorder and pay for drinks.

La Plaza is a great steakhouse with excellent service that unfortunately you can hardly find anywhere else! The team is extremely attentive, well-coordinated and always friendly. When Chef Mario is there, he personally and warmly greets his guests, chats with them and/or says goodbye. Here you can tell that the well-being of the guest is the focus. There is a welcome aperitif, bread with olives and dips. There’s also a nightcap missing. The food and drinks alone are completely convincing (Wagyu fillet is a dream. Beef fillet tips and the fish dishes are also recommended, as is everything we have had there so far, from the starters to the dessert). For me, the service is particularly worth mentioning, especially because it unfortunately hardly exists anymore; Here you will be served naturally and courteously, without having to constantly look out for someone. The food comes very quickly (almost too quickly for us, but you can say that without any problems). La Plaza is definitely (more than) worth a visit (and always well attended)! Unfortunately, my meat was very stringy and the degree of doneness wasn't right either. Conclusion: We were there in a group of 4, two thought it was great, two just okay :-)

We had dinner with American work colleagues. A total of 16. The service was great, an employee always came and asked for new drinks. Unfortunately the food was rather poor. Some steaks were different than requested, some were almost raw even though they were ordered medium. Not ok for the price. A replacement was offered, which was nice. We also ordered Serrano Negra but received plain ham.

The food was very tasty and appetizingly prepared. The bread served was manageable for five people and new items were only offered after the starters had been served. Priced a bit too high in some cases. I found the wine selection, especially the open wines, poor because I don't prefer dry wines. Unfortunately there were no sweet red/white wines. The ambience is appealing and modern, simple. Unfortunately, we sat under the loudspeaker and as the number of guests increased, the volume would be adjusted, which was unfortunately found to be a bit annoying given our placement. But otherwise it was a successful evening and we thought the birthday serenade for two people in our group was very nice. We'd love to come back.

The new prices are tw. increased by 30% to 40%! Lamb shank instead of € 21.90 now € 29.90 (+ 36.5%)!! Six lamb chops €33.90. The relationship is actually more correct!! .......................................... ......... The lamb fillets were very good and tasty, but the “surprise dessert” was nothing special and not worth a sin. The ambience is so-so. Candles on the tables (if available) will not be lit, only upon request. The music is tw. annoying. And completely impossible: advertising from a car purchasing company is repeatedly played!!! There's almost nowhere you can sit really comfortably. Either at the kitchen, at the stairs to the toilet or near a well and uncomfortably brightly lit emergency exit.

It's always a pleasure to eat here. Not only are the steaks excellent, but also the fish dishes. This is exactly what sets La Plaza apart from most restaurants. The fish dishes are also outstanding here, not just the steak dishes. Attached are two pictures from my last two visits to Plaza with the fish starter platter for 2 people (including two lamb chops) and the fish main course platter for 2 people. It's worth every euro!!

Our service that day took some getting used to, it's just a matter of perspective 🙄. She knew e.g. B. not which glass was the Kölsch and which was the Radler. We first had to taste each other to realize that we had gotten the wrong drink. In addition, the waitress didn't know whether the tomato soup was vegetarian. Her clumsy answer was: "Tomato soup, yes.. vegetarian!" Well, wrong answer, that wasn't the case 🤔 since the soup is made with broth 🤦 This manner continued throughout the afternoon... and we were not difficult guests! Even when leaving, there was no need for a "thank you, goodbye" on her part. Conclusion: Location and food are great!
