Unfortunately, the service was not good. If you didn't order anything else, you were immediately asked to pay. The waitresses were also very unfriendly. Beer mats were thrown on the table. The bill was incorrect, and the change was simply thrown in. The food was okay, but nothing special. I've had much better currywurst and noodles elsewhere. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it. A real shame!

My wife, my children, and I wanted to eat there in the evening on Father's Day. All the seats inside were taken, so we sat outside under the large umbrellas. After waiting for 15 minutes, my wife wanted to draw our attention and was told that they weren't serving outside anymore because it was raining (lightly), but other guests had been served outside before then. And when we walked past later, after we'd finished eating at the log cabin, there were other people sitting outside eating too. It's a bit of a rip-off. Unfortunately, you can't give it zero stars.

What a shame. We were there for my mother's 60th birthday (with a reservation) and got a much too small table on the side, even though the place was practically empty. Service was reasonably attentive, but you had to call for attention. The food was okay, unfortunately not even fresh potatoes, but the schnitzel was tasty. I had to complain about my red berry compote, as it had apparently been left open in the fridge with onions or something similar and had completely absorbed the flavor. The waitress just said, "I wouldn't have recommended it to you anyway," which I found quite funny 😂

We had schnitzel with a fried egg. Two schnitzels arrived, one with a fried egg on top. Both schnitzels were incredibly greasy. The fried potatoes were delicious but very salty and also very greasy. Furthermore, they didn't even offer us salt or pepper, let alone ketchup or anything. The service was very unfriendly. It's a shame; we had been guided by the many good reviews. The worst part was that they told us we should go inside to pay; other guests were being charged at the table.

We sat at a table shortly after 3 p.m. and each wanted a coffee. The waitress brusquely replied, "There's no coffee right now!" So we got up and left...

Suitable for both groups and smaller gatherings.

This place is definitely recommended; they have everything from delicious beers to delicious and equally filling food. The atmosphere is very reminiscent of historical politicians, but it's also something different. I'd love to go back!

Visits on April 22nd and 23rd, 2022 Very cozy restaurant in a good location in downtown Hanover, very busy during our visit. As always, we were served very friendly by Jana and Kerstin (the souls of the restaurant). The dishes, Mettappchen, Currywurst (Kanzler fillet), Rievkoche were perfectly prepared. Kölsch as an accompanying drink went well. If you want to eat a good home-style meal in a casual atmosphere, this is the place for you. Unfortunately, there is no such “pub” in our hometown of Stuttgart. My friends and I will stop there again when we visit Hanover.

Visited the StäV for the 4th time. The service was great and the ambience fits the overall package. Unfortunately the food wasn't that great. The currywurst looked ok. Had a Stasi Schnitzel that was about as thick as a slice of cooked ham. Breading was thicker. But then 4 of them and some fries. Unfortunately that was nothing and €25 for that is pretty cheeky. The Kölsch tasted good and was still a nice evening.

It was easy to get a seat without a reservation. Service was friendly and quick, food was quick and good. Interesting atmosphere. Because of the many pictures it takes a long time to go to the toilet ;) We were there twice and would love to go again.

Everything was great, except for the noise level when the guest room was full, where the acoustics of the (high) rooms are unfortunately less pleasant.

The staff was very unfriendly, brought the wrong food, when it was mentioned that something else had been ordered, the waitress said “I'm about to freak out” and shook her head. The other guests were also treated impatiently. Not recommended!

Great shop! My recommendation: rump steak well done. Rarely have I had such a great steak. At 10 p.m. in the evening it was already quite full. We had to wait a while to be able to order drinks. However, we noticed how the service staff ran from table to table and tried their best. So we were okay with waiting. Important to mention: It was extremely crowded during the Kirchentag. Thanks for a great evening.

Nach tatsächlich unverständlich vielen Jahren Pause ohne Besuch in der SV zog es uns als Hannoveraner - passend zum Heimspiel gegen Köln - danach auf ein paar Kölsch und sehr gutes Essen endlich wieder dort hinein. Der 8er Kranz Kölsch kalt, lecker und frisch. Das Essen wurde trotz Fülle im Restaurant recht zeitig serviert. Der Service insgesamt sehr flink, tatsächlich dauerte das Bezahlen bzw. der Erhalt der Rechnung am längsten. Das Schnitzel Schweizer Art mit Bratkartoffeln war sehr gut. Sogar der Beilagensalat kein Alibi, sondern frisch und vielfältig. Der Klassiker Currywurst ohne Tadel. Und selbst das “Experiment” (Sepia Tagliarini mit Lachs) wurde sehr gelobt. Unbedingt (wieder) hingehen. Sehr zu empfehlen! (Photos haben wir keine gemacht).

Very good food A restaurant with a very original atmosphere

I ordered a currywurst with fries, the sausage was smoked and only slightly warm, the fries were just as warm and dry, the sauce was fruity and sprinkled with fried onions. It wasn't my taste but luckily tastes are different. The staff was stressed and nobody can ever help themselves except at the beginning. My conclusion about going out for a beer is totally ok, unfortunately not going out to eat anymore.

Personally, it was the best restaurant I visited in Hanover. The beer is great and the smoked ham is very tasty. It was best to eat beer with several small refills on a large tray rather than a single item.

Clear recommendation!!! The food is down-to-earth and really good, drinks and food at “reasonable” prices, the service staff are very friendly, courteous and very quick... The atmosphere is special and rustic, you immediately feel at home - I deducted one point because the volume is sometimes quite high. Another advantage is the immediate proximity to the “Aegi” event location - you can have a relaxed meal here before an event and then leisurely walk over. All in all a cult store - we always enjoy coming here!!!

Actually a nice inn, but very loud, you can hardly have a conversation. The food is more like a snack bar. Service quick and attentive.

The price-performance ratio is very good! There is always a lot to look at, the furnishings with lots of old photos seem slightly antiquated, but they are part of the concept.

As a schnitzel lover, I of course had to try the Swiss schnitzel with fried potatoes and salad. What should I say? Brilliant - rarely had such a great schnitzel. There were also small round fried potatoes and an excellent salad - the service was also very friendly and the food came relatively quickly. Wow, that was really great cinema. We were definitely not here for the last time 👌👍

We were received and greeted very friendly. We were allowed to choose a table and sat down. We were handed the menus and were able to order our drinks straight away. The drinks came to our table quickly and we were able to give up our meal request. For the starter I had the potato soup with bacon which was very tasty 😋 For the main course I chose the ex-chancellor fillet platter which was very tasty 😋. For me it's a solid five stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Been here for the first time. Unfortunately it was totally overcrowded. Drinks and food had to be passed on. It was so loud that you couldn't hear your own words. I think prices are too high.

Friday evening, it was very crowded. I would recommend making a reservation. From young to old, everyone was represented. The service is on point, very friendly. Food was delicious and came quickly. We'll definitely go there again 👌

The currywurst is always worth a visit. But the changing weekly and seasonal offers should also be taken into account.

Good morning, Today we were here at the permanent representation. The employees are friendly, attentive and competent. The atmosphere is awesome. We happily recommend this place for eating and drinking.

A beautiful shop! Great ambience and the service (despite the place being full) was totally friendly, personable and super fast. The drinks and food prices are also great! However, the taste of the food was unfortunately very disappointing. I had a (different interpretation) Ceaser salad with chicken and small mushrooms. These were so greasy that unfortunately I couldn't eat them. Both the chicken and the mushrooms had a taste of pork and fish, which suggests that all fried/grilled dishes are fried together or on the same plate without cleaning afterwards. Particularly difficult for someone who isn't a porker. We also had a fish platter with crabs. Unfortunately, these weren't exactly fresh either and smelled and tasted very fishy. Unfortunately my companion couldn't eat these either. I think dishes like schnitzel or bratwurst are the right choice if you want to dine here. And a great choice for a nice drinking evening with friends, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend (these two) dishes.

We weren't sure if we were going to find restaurants open on a Sunday and yay. It was good; ate all my food, good soup too and the service was great. It had a good vibe, made you want to stay longer but we wanted to roam.

We were here in a larger group. A long table was provided for us at the back, right in the middle of the room. Unfortunately it is very loud here and there is a station hall feeling. Having conversations here is more of a bad thing than a good thing. Service was very friendly and accommodating. The food was ok, but the portion size and value for money were definitely not there.

Cool presentation, very interesting time travel through German politics with lots of pictures of German politicians East and West. Unfortunately quite expensive. I was a little disappointed with the food. In my case, the price/performance wasn't that great...that is, not enough for so much money.

Lively, bright, gastronomy with its own unique furnishing style. The menu is good with a decent selection of dishes. I can especially recommend the currywurst/fries. The beer “specialty” here is Kölsch. - You have to like... The service is friendly. In my opinion, the store scores points with its furnishings. Many historical objects give the guest a nostalgic feeling.

Despite being "full house", the service is friendly, fast and very well organized. Drinks and food came quickly. The Championrahmschnitzel with fried potatoes and kale with Kassler or Bregenwurst were excellent. The only drawback is the high noise level, which makes conversation very tiring.

Too loud to have a conversation. Food relatively expensive and of high quality, I've had a better burger for the price. The fries were good though. The service was good and quick.

The currywurst was very tasty, the Kölsch tasted like a Kölsch and the Weizen like a Weizen. Unfortunately our food was forgotten and only brought when we asked. It's generally very loud but still somehow comfortable

Where should I even start here? As a former Cologne resident, I came here and unfortunately was completely disappointed. From the order to the service and also the food, it was really bad and had nothing to do with the advertised “real Cologne drinking culture”. The menu is very promising, there are Kölsch phrases and some Kölsch dishes and the popular Kölsch everywhere. We ordered Rievkooche and Halver Hahn as shown in the photos. Neither has anything to do with the original dishes from Cologne. The Rievkooche were definitely frozen and unfortunately did not taste good. The half rooster also has nothing to do with the original. It's neither a real Röggelchen nor a real old Gouda and the mustard only came when asked. The drinks were also brought incorrectly and were of course immediately complained about. The service here is very unfriendly and cannot be compared with a Köbes from Cologne. Unfortunately, there is just too much “real Cologne drinking culture” on offer here, but 0.0% is implemented!

Unfortunately, the opening hours of the kitchen correspond to the information on the website. Were there at 10:10 p.m. and received the statement: "The kitchen has been closed for a long time" Annoying because we could have found another restaurant in that time.

Around 7 p.m. it was packed and loud. Nevertheless, the operation is surprisingly quick. Great team!

Very cool, relaxed location. You never have to wait for new drinks. The Kölsch tastes really good, always freshly tapped. Very committed employees who offer top service at all times. When you eat it you experience a great explosion of flavors. Absolutely recommended. And even when the place is full, eating and drinking never takes long.

We ate here spontaneously and because of the good reviews. The restaurant was pretty empty and yet we were seated in the farthest corner. The restaurant is cozy and clean. The 5 drinks were so full, they spilled over when served. The food was a disappointment, the tomato soup was totally sour. The turkey meat was dry. The champion cream sauce had hardly any taste... we won't be back... the staff were friendly.

Have been there several times on different occasions (Christmas with the company, eating and/or drinking together, with friends and/or family), and was never disappointed. Food and drink is not cheap, but appropriate to the ambience and quality. Price/performance is okay. You should like Kölsch, alternative types of beer are rather manageable. When it comes to food, the focus is more on Rhenish specialties, Cologne area. We particularly recommend the currywurst, in 3 different sizes, which can easily be enough for two people for just under €22.

We were there with our team and had a great time. I ordered the salmon burger with fries and it was simply delicious! The salmon was perfectly cooked, juicy and full of flavor. The fries were crispy and delicious – just right! The ambience and service were also great, very friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. I can only recommend this restaurant and would love to come back!

Great location, with a lot of history in the restaurant! Lots of pictures of politicians and German history, both West and East! 😄 The menu has decent dishes that everyone can find! There is vegan food there and a very tasty tomato soup without cream. Since I celebrate politics history, it is an inspiring place for me. There are also photos of my companion's ex.

Went there for the first time on Saturday evening and managed to get a spot at very short notice, 2 hours beforehand. Was very busy. I had the Stasi Schnitzel, apparently very large, which I found very positive. But unfortunately it was pounded so small that it was extremely thin, rather just a schnitzel on the plate but thicker. The sauce was tasty but unfortunately also very little. The waitress always took a long time to get to the table and was visibly stressed. But this was certainly due to the high level of activity in the restaurant. The entire presentation was very interesting and definitely something different.

Stasi platter (schnitzel) ordered 4 times arrived in 15 minutes, schnitzel was very flat and dripping with fat, and the schnitzel didn't taste like anything at all. Sambal sauce wasn't sambal sauce, way too sweet. Fried potatoes were good but you can't go wrong, fries were hard after they arrived. Tables are very small and with 4 people it's really tiring not to throw anything down.

Basically there are four stars, but you have to make compromises when it comes to food. The schnitzel wasn't really good, it even tasted a bit old and otherwise the fried potatoes were a little too greasy. We won't eat there a second time.
