SPO Fischhaus in Sankt Peter-Ording

Ordered a fish pan to go, same price as in the restaurant. Three small fish, some salmon, pollock, and another piece. All except the salmon had a relatively large amount of parsley and not much fish. The fried potatoes and gravy were good. But they won't fill you up.

The visit began with a less than welcoming welcome. An employee was moving around the outdoor area with his smartphone, handing out reservation signs while asking guests to leave their seats. We, too, were asked to vacate the seat we had just found, even though we were about to order. When we asked where we could sit instead, we were simply given the brief answer: "Where there are no signs." When we finally chose a table that seemed to be free, a reservation sign was placed there shortly afterwards as well. Due to these repeated confusions and the less than hospitable treatment, we left the restaurant and went to Wanlik Hüs instead – the service there was friendly and the atmosphere pleasant. We can therefore highly recommend this restaurant!

Great fish rolls, nice service, everything was great

I wouldn't eat here again. We ordered a "fish platter" for €90. We waited over an hour for it. I really enjoy waiting for good food. What we received was a bucket of water poured onto a plate. It splashed onto our pants. Absolutely unacceptable. Then there were 2 kg of peeled potatoes in a curry saffron sauce in front of us. Inside were lemons, lots of vegetables, a rolled-up lobster, four prawns, octopus teracle, five scallops, and a whole bunch of closed mussels. That's absolutely unacceptable. We were really looking forward to it; I've had many very good fish platters for less money. I would NEVER order it again, and I won't eat here again either.

It's June 2, 2025, 6:15 PM, and you can't get a drink if you don't want anything to eat. The reason given is "evening business"! Seriously, not even a beer in the evening. That's what I call a service desert, SPO. But apparently this is an exception, because elsewhere I've gotten my beer without any problems.

We ate here in 2024 at Pentecost with a group of 6 adults and 4 children. It was great. The food arrived well after ordering. The daily specials and regular menus offer a good selection, so even non-fish eaters can find something to eat.

Friendly staff, nice decor, and good service. The only criticism is that card payments aren't possible, as not everyone has an account with a savings bank or VR Bank.

Delicious, delicious from the confectioner, as we used to say in the Ruhr region. Of course, this has little to do with confectionery, but let me just say: We had the fish platter twice, and it was incredibly delicious, the drinks were amazing, and the staff was super friendly. The only downside: Cash only, but what the heck, there are worse things.

A very beautiful location. We sat outside in a beach chair in perfect weather. A perfect wheat beer and a beautifully presented Aperol Spritz sweetened our lunch break. Mr. Xidir's service was exactly what you'd expect: attentive, friendly, and prompt. Keep up the good work!

A great restaurant with an Arabian flair. You can sit comfortably inside, and it's also very well decorated. There are also good outdoor seating areas. The menu is rustic, with dishes like burgers. There's also an Arabian twist on the menu, which you wouldn't expect to find in St. Peter-Ording. The food was fantastic. The staff is efficient and friendly. We really enjoyed it.

On every SPO vacation, we go to the Fischhaus several times out of conviction. The fish dishes are delicious, the portions are generous, and you'll be filling. Today we had fish from the lunch menu for the first time. It tasted good as always, and the portion size is sufficient for a normal appetite. However, as expected, there's a bit less on the plate. The price-performance ratio is just as good as at dinner. The only "minor" criticism is the background music. The music, certainly a matter of taste, was unfortunately not turned down despite several guests' requests. But we'd be happy to come back.

Great, delicious homemade lemonades, and the pollock lunch special is also recommended. The spaghetti with shrimp isn't a lunch special, but it was also very tasty. Service was friendly and attentive. The decor inside is a bit chaotic, but the food fits perfectly, and the outside is nice.

Here you have a selection of fish dishes that are great. Unfortunately not exactly cheap. Between 20-30 euros per person. You can also get fish to take away. It will be freshly packed for home. I had salmon pasta with a very tasty sauce.

Beware of rip-offs - fish and chips are sold outside for 12.90 euros. We order this and are then charged 16.90 euros. That would be lunch. We were there at 1 p.m. I made the mistake because I didn't explicitly say so and just ordered fish and chips. Since payment was only possible in cash, I paid with 20 euros. The waiter apparently didn't have any change and then dug out 2.70 euros including Danish change. What a shop. Small portion, price rip-off and exchange money rip-off. Better not

Nice atmosphere, we can highly recommend the place in the beach chair. The staff is very accommodating and, upon request, made me a lemonade without any sugar. The fish plate is highly recommended for lunch. For €14.90 there is a colorful, high-quality selection. We'd love to come back.

Were there for the first time. No run-of-the-mill food. Salmon burger with salmon rösti, delicious non-fatty dressing, great. Pasta dish with a sophisticated sauce. Of course there is fish and chips too. But try the exotic dishes. A pleasure. Price-performance fits. Friendly service. Real surprise in SPO, where many no longer feel the need to be friendly or to be open at this time of year.

Very nice place, we reserved in advance and were told on the phone that only cash payment was possible, so everything was great. Our service was very nice, the food and drinks were delicious. The only disadvantage was that we sat at a high table. Because the door was constantly opening and closing, it was often cold and draughty. This could certainly be easily solved with a vestibule, so one star was deducted. Otherwise everything was great and we would love to come back.

We went here for dinner today, fish and chips. The fries were good, but the fish was old and fried for too long. It was cold in the restaurant, I don't know if the heating was broken.

We always enjoy going here. Very tasty food and great ambience. Our dog is also welcome. The dishes stand out because of their oriental interpretation. If you don't like that, there are also typical fish dishes. Ate "Zamuka" and "Lust auf Meer" yesterday, it was delicious and a revelation. The price here is 25, - 33, - euros per meal, but it is also worth it. Stopped for a fish sandwich and mulled wine at lunchtime today and that was outstanding too. Anyone who comes to SPO simply has to eat here. The appetizer platter for two is also highly recommended. Matjes and Co. presented in a variety of ways.

I am NOT a herring eater, but we still ordered the fish tapas starter for two people. Sensational. Order again tomorrow; I was converted. Then we had the salmon on spinach and the plaice - both on point. The service was nice and attentive. The portions generous. The stay left nothing to be desired... now, two years later, we were here for lunch for a fish sandwich and a drink of mulled wine. At first I was surprised by the slightly higher prices of the fish rolls, but after I held them in my hands I realized why. No sticky roll, cucumber, onions, full of herring fillet. This was one of the best fish sandwiches I have ever eaten. And there were many different ones. I also really enjoyed the white mulled wine and the oriental one. No excessive taste of clove with walnuts, fig and orange. From now on I like mulled wine again. Then the best fish sandwich in the SPO

Great fish dishes and good burgers, but unfortunately at the now typical St. Peter prices €€€€. Rather too expensive for families, which is a shame. But at least it's tasty. Ambience is also good. At the end Christmas decoration photo - current.

Wir haben das Restaurant 2mal besucht, erst mit einer Bestellung zum mitnehmen, was sehr lecker war. Dann Abends fuer die Meeresfruechtenplatte. Sehr sehr gut. Schoene Atmosphaere und liebe Gastgeberin. Leider wie ueberall im (SPO) Dorf kann man nur in Bar bezahlen, was etwas laestig ist.

Today I was at the SPO Fischhaus with my grandson. Since there are few tourists at the moment, the restaurant was almost empty. The service employee was very friendly and attentive. The offering is manageable but good and there is something for every taste. The portions are a reasonable size and our food was very tasty. I can only recommend the SPO Fischhaus and will definitely come back there again.👍

It's a nice restaurant, unfortunately it was quite cool so you could have left your jacket on. The service was friendly and quick. The food was okay, the portions were very poor for the price. The iced tea was sold for €3.50 and we saw that a cheaper PET iced tea was being poured. That's pretty cheeky... maybe normal (?) glass bottles would definitely be better. A cucumber salad for >5€ was a small bowl. -we expected more. The price-performance ratio is not good and we probably won't come back again.

We wanted to eat fish on a day trip from the Baltic Sea coast. Our choice fell on this restaurant. At the end of October we were still able to sit outside. Very friendly service! Great homemade lemonade. The food (garlic prawns and fish platter) was good, but the menu was perhaps a bit overloaded. Attention: no card payment!

We had North Sea plaice and three kinds of fish with fried potatoes or boiled potatoes with bacon beans. The potatoes were great, the beans were cooked perfectly, so both 5 stars. The bacon cubes were really bad, only 1 star, they really didn't taste particularly good, but you could eat them. The plaice was good. Of the 3 types of fish I didn't like one type, I think it was salmon. In my opinion the fish also had too little salt, but that's really a matter of taste. There's still room for improvement, then it would be really good

Quite nicely prepared, but the taste was a disaster. No spices, whether on the fish or as a side dish. The fish was comparable to a frozen piece from Lidl, but even then it is juicier. The atmosphere is pleasant, but the waiters just run past you and then grimly ask if you enjoyed it. Unfortunately not a recommended location.

Fish rolls are very tasty and also cheap compared to the prices in Büsum.

Food is offered outside for lunch at 12 for 13.90, but if you order it and don't say that you want lunch, it will be charged at 16.90... To top it off, there is no card payment...

The SPO Fischhaus is located at a busy intersection, which creates an exciting atmosphere. The outdoor area is particularly beautiful, where you can sit both covered and outdoors. The service is very nice and accommodating. The fish plate with herring, herring and pollack, served with fried potatoes, tartar sauce and cream, was fried to perfection and tasted excellent. The portion size was just right. The lack of card payment options is annoying - this is simply no longer appropriate in 2024. Later I got a fried fish sandwich to take away - and it was the best thing I've ever eaten. Crispy, warm, not at all greasy – simply wonderful.

We were there yesterday afternoon. There are children's high chairs - great. Relaxed music, friendly staff and then outstandingly delicious food. I can recommend the restaurant to everyone!

The food looked very good. My green herring was a bit dry. Fried potatoes and sauce were great. I loved that there was no bacon in the fried potatoes. Unfortunately, my friend was unlucky and didn't have any fresh tomatoes in her food. When this was politely criticized when we asked whether the food was good, we were rudely told: It can't be. We could work on that. Basically I would have given the restaurant a second chance, but when we were told we couldn't pay by card I was really irritated. Very little choice for vegetarians, which I don't find dramatic for a fish house.

We had the SPO fish platter in a hot pan and when I say hot, I mean 🔥 😝🤣. Delicious. The fish and fried potatoes were on point. The second dish was fish 1000 and 1 night. The table in front of the restaurant offered various fish sandwiches. We went in and ordered 2 fish sandwiches to take away. It turned out that of the various offers there were only 2 different ones available. Ordered 2 fish sandwiches with mackerel, €21 😱 That leaves you spitting away, it's absolutely not possible... What do they think they are?

Three years ago there were two stars but you have to give a store another chance. This time we were very satisfied, the fish dish 1001 Nights was simply very tasty. There are 5 stars if card payment is possible...

Nach einem Strandtag mit Familie und Freunden, hatten meine Berliner Freunde noch Lust auf ein Fischbrötchen,die Kinder auf Fish and Chips. Wir wurden super freundlich empfangen uns wurde für die Wartezeit sofort ein Tisch angeboten,obwohl wir Alles nur auf die Hand haben wollten. Service ganz herzlich und Fischbrötchen sowie Fish&Chips für die Kinder waren super lecker und hat meinem Besuch den Nordseetag perfekt gemacht. Unbedingt zu empfehlen, ich kann keine der negativen Bewertungen unterschreiben.

The fish soup and mussels were ok. For the price you can expect more. Many shells were still closed. It was seasoned with lots of coriander.

Very tasty fish pan, good quantity, good taste, delicious fried potatoes, fish fried to perfection, not a bone in it. Prices are very reasonable for a hyped destination like St.P-O. Very friendly waitresses and quick service. OK, if you sit outside you have the intersection and car traffic, but it's a pretty tight right-before-left intersection with out-of-town cars, large RVs and cyclists riding in the opposite direction, which provides endless entertainment... Highly recommended, I will come back!

Basically we were satisfied with our visits. Once in 2022 and this year. Unfortunately, an extra 3 euros is always charged for the crabs. This can sometimes be understandable, but not always. I'm well aware that there's a certain issue with the crabs, but I don't think it's okay to always bring it up. The fish was very good, but the side dishes were unfortunately a bit poor. Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to pay by card. Given the prices, I would expect a little more for my money. Homemade drinks are recommended.

OK for fish and chips, but not for anything else!!! Our fish dishes - North Sea plaice with bacon beans and boiled potatoes as well as salmon/zander on saffron rice were simply of absolutely poor quality for this price (no taste, yesterday's potatoes). The waiter had forgotten our food, so we waited almost 1 hour for it - it can happen! It's nice to sit outside, but that's about all the positive feedback!

Super delicious food. We had the fish and chips, the pasta with lobster sauce and salmon (a poem) and the BBQ burger is just great. In addition, there is great service that doesn't skimp on humor. We always enjoy going there. The homemade lemonade is also always worth recommending. Special requests are also gladly accepted and fulfilled.

Every time a new experience and a taste explosion. Generous portions. Crab prices are reasonable. The chef has the right spices. The service is excellent and warm to children and everyone. Every year anew. Worth every euro plus tip. The others in the area can't keep up.

We had reserved for Sunday. The restaurant was well attended. Friendly staff. Only cash payment possible, which we were informed about before ordering. (By the way, this applies to all the restaurants we visited in SPO) Certainly understandable from a cost perspective, but from a Corona perspective a bit strange, but acceptable. The food is of excellent quality. Both of our fish dishes were really top. Before ordering we were informed that the prices on the menu were no longer current. All fish dishes plus €2 and all dishes with smoked salmon and crabs plus €4. This raises the already high price level to a slightly excessive level.
