For me the best Thai in town. Fresh, friendly, spicy. Here two 🌶️🌶️ are really hot, but the aroma is right, the aftertaste keeps herbs and spices in your taste memory and in addition to the really delicious drinks, you have a satisfying mouthfeel for a long time, just like you know from Asia when it's good. It's better to have a good Thai meal here once than three times cheap (and that's how it tastes in comparison)

The Spicery definitely impresses with its really great and authentic ambience. The service was very friendly. The menu had all kinds of Thai specialties. The duck with curry tasted really excellent. I just missed traditional dishes like Pad Kra Pao or drinks like Thai iced tea with milk. That would have made the experience perfect. Overall, great restaurant and highly recommended.

Wolt order - not authentic Thai. Horrible spices, horrible meat… wrong salad - papaya instead of Isaan. Worst papaya salad in my whole life. Check out the laab! No real herbs and spices, just artificial and not fresh! 2 stars for flowers

I have been going to this restaurant for about 15 years and both service and food are always excellent. There are Thais in Munich

Under no circumstances are the high prices justified. The summer rolls were a joke for €12.90. The spring rolls were frozen standard like any Asian snack bar. The duck tamarind was drowned in sweet/spicy chicken sauce. Overall the food was average and filled my stomach. It was also very nicely decorated. I'd rather spend 100€ for 2 people at ChiThu on 3x. No recommendation from me or us.

By far one of the best Asian restaurants in Munich! We got a place there very spontaneously last week. On site, the restaurant welcomes you with a super relaxed atmosphere, kept rather dark with darkened windows and dimmed lights. There are warm/wet towels to wash your hands/face upon entering the restaurant. Even though it was relatively full, it was possible to have a very relaxed conversation. There is a wide selection of good Asian food and drinks. The cocktails are particularly noteworthy! Extremely delicious. My dish was a large portion. The pasta, vegetables and duck were all very juicy and incredibly tasty. We'll definitely be back! LG Tim

We have often picked up food here and eaten there three times. The quality of the food is consistently good and absolutely high quality! Fresh vegetables, never overcooked, meat is always fantastic, and all dishes have a wonderful seasoning. The ambience on site is also very good, the waitresses are always friendly and accommodating. Once something was forgotten when placing an order for collection: noted as a “note” on the next order, and actually received a refund. We can 100% recommend the Spicery, even if it is of course not cheap here.

The Spicery is a very good Thai restaurant where the service is very friendly and the food is very good. The Spicery is located in the middle of Haidhausen on Weißenburger Platz, within walking distance of the Ostbahnhof.

Frankly, I didn't get much time to explore here. So, I could only order a starter, but my friends ordered the main course and everyone was happy with the quality and quantity. The service was nice. We reached around 6.50pm, and as expected, it was crowded as always. I'm glad that we booked in advance :) The cost was a bit on the higher side. When I went through the menu, I noticed that most of the main courses were more than 20€. Next time, I have to try those and see whether it was worth it for that cost. Chicken satay that I ordered was 12€ and got only 3 pieces. Well, that I think can be added as costly :D Need to plan again and check other items in detail :)

Do not order any of the duck dishes on the menu! Completely inedible, does not taste fresh, and the meat was so dry and stringy. One of the worst duck I've ever tasted in my life, and trust me I eat and have eaten a lot of duck in my lifetime. We informed the waitress about it, and the response from the manager was essentially "that's just how it is"... so clearly they acknowledge and know the duck tastes horrible and still choose to serve it like that to their customers! For a place that looks and feels higher end, with prices that reflect this (the dishes with duck are more expensive too), their customer service absolutely does not match. The manager did not even offer any sort of compromise or solution, e.g. offer to replace the duck with a different meat instead. It's really a shame because the other food (fresh rolls, pad thai, red curry sauce) tasted good, but after this experience I would never return here and would never recommend this place to anyone.

Communication by the owner has never been really pleasant, this time he was outright rude and arrogant,prohibiting us to come back anytime soon. This experience reduced atmosphere rating. Food was ok but not worth the charge. Service: we went to the server for trivial things like chop sticks. Our section of the restaurant appeared understaffed.

I was here for the first time today. A very nice, well-kept atmosphere and very friendly, professional service. I had duck red curry. The vegetables were perfect, unfortunately the duck was not. Very dry. Guess it wasn't freshly prepared but warmed up again. This made it very dry. It's a shame but maybe I was just unlucky.

The scent, ambience and furnishings of the Spicery is w/out a doubt brilliant. The food is good, yet extremely traditional. The menu card doesn’t really inspire to daring excursions. Would I come back? Yes. Definitely yes.

Main course excellent, starter unfortunately only lukewarm but still very good. Ambience very nice! Service, on the other hand, was really a letdown - the waitress wasn't friendly, harsh, didn't respond to requests that she please wait a bit before the main course (it came 10-15 minutes after the starter...), didn't respond at all to criticism about the path and warm beer and in the end When paying by card, like in America, I get the choice between an 8-20% tip - where do we live?!?!

For me this is one of the most beautiful places to dine in Munich. The prices are in the upper segment, no doubt, but I feel the size of the main course portions are good and the quality and ambience make justice to the price. If you don't like spicy food be aware, that there are few options for less spicy food but generally Thai Kitchen is quite spicy.

We were happy to bring our family, who are scattered all over the world, together again for a lovely visit to a restaurant in Haidhausen. What we experienced here at the Spicery (still) leaves you speechless. We had made a reservation for 5 people, but unfortunately my daughter-in-law had to call in sick fifteen minutes before the appointment due to an acute infection. I reported this to the restaurant manager at reception and apologized. The answer I received was rude and asked if we didn't have a phone or email; after all, we were reminded of the appointment in the afternoon. I explained again that we had only found out a few minutes ago that my daughter-in-law had developed an acute fever, which was countered with open malice - you don't think I'm buying that from you. At least we were assigned a table - the only effort the staff had to make was to remove the fifth place setting, as most of the neighboring tables for five only had 4 people sitting anyway. The mood was already spoiled. We were then left to sit - either intentionally or due to poor organization - for almost half an hour without even being able to order drinks. So I took the liberty of asking the restaurant manager again whether we were still on the agenda. I also wanted to know again - to build a bridge, so to speak - whether he really meant the statement at the reception seriously - whereupon he ranted again about how serious he meant it and that they (the restaurant) didn't have to put up with guests Didn't stick to appointments, etc. That was too much of a good thing, as a guest you don't have to be insulted twice. We left the restaurant because we were obviously not wanted. We have a lot of experience visiting restaurants in Germany and around the world, but we have never experienced such behavior towards us as guests. In our opinion: arrogant, if not impertinent, in any case unacceptable.

Was very excited to eat here but had a very average experience. Vibe: the decor is very beautiful but the table we were seated at was so crowded, I could not get into and out of my seat without bumping into others. It was also very loud and we could not hear each other even though we reserved beforehand. 2/5 Service: it was very busy for a weekday evening but the service was good considering the crowd. 4/5 Food: we were vegans and unfortunately almost all food had meat or fish sauce. The waiter offered Pad Thai without fish sauce or eggs so we only had that as an option. It was like ordinary sweet sour noodles. Quantity was not sufficient either. 3/5 All in all we will not be returning.

You come in. It smells nice. Warm light surrounds you. Attentive staff will approach you. At your table you feel intimate, but you can also take part in what is happening around you. Lively atmosphere, but also peace. You're ready for a relaxing evening with a really great menu.

Absolute must Authentic Thai cuisine, super nice staff and an absolutely fantastic atmosphere. I felt like I was on vacation in Thailand for 90 minutes. What one could perhaps say as a criticism, if at all, is that eating could be a bit shepherd. However, I understand the reserved sharpness here in Germany. Prices are a bit higher but worth every cent.

Food great, atmosphere great. The only point of criticism is that our waiter unfortunately did not respond to our request to make the dishes less spicy. For some reason it was impossible for him to use less chili in my dish, the basil duck. But since it's a freshly prepared wok dish, I don't understand why that should be the case. Of course the food was still very tasty. Personally, I would have liked it a little milder but even better.

Unfortunately, too many negative points for the money... We stated allergies in advance, which were unfortunately "forgotten" - a succinct "sorry" and that's it... Original Thai food looks a little different - just spicy isn't enough out of. And without having the information in advance that you only have the table for a certain amount of time to suddenly have the last round announced... Sorry, we paid €250 - can I expect more...?

All the dishes are really spicy, but it has nothing to do with authentic Thai food. I have never experienced such bad, arrogant and rude staff: At the end, when I politely asked for a discount because of the dish I couldn't eat, I was shouted at by the manager. Never again -> no recommendation!

Good, Better, Spicery Spent a wonderful and great evening there with a larger group of friends! What more could you want? But in detail: From the reservation (including changes in the number of guests) to the personal reminder the day before, to a wonderfully unobtrusive and always attentive service crew to a heavenly menu, the whole thing is only surpassed by the food on the plates and in the bowls. The fragrant rice, authentic Thai cuisine at a very high level and a very well-matched wine list crown the result. The Schanigarten, although located directly on the street, is very quiet... during the hours we were there, maybe... Saw 3 cars and to mention it again... The only thing that could be criticized about the service is that the food simply outshines EVERYTHING. THANK YOU for a wonderful evening! See you soon PS: Since we ate outside, we almost completely missed the great atmosphere of the restaurant inside. The short visits inside were accompanied by great impressions and a successful interior. PPS: Price performance is absolutely fine. For me, the Spicery is more than just a restaurant, it is a culinary journey to Thailand. Every time I'm there I feel like I'm a guest among friends. The staff is incredibly attentive and helpful. Whether I'm asking for a recommendation for a new dish or I'm unsure about what goes with my dish, they always have a good tip. By the way, the Pad Thai is the best I've ever eaten in Munich! The combination of sweet, spicy and salty flavors is just perfect. The atmosphere is modern and cozy at the same time, and you immediately feel at home. I would highly recommend Spicery to anyone who wants to enjoy authentic Thai food in a relaxed atmosphere.

Yesterday we had dinner at the Spicery in Haidhausen. We hadn't reserved a place and arrived there spontaneously. At reception we were given a nice seat with the comment that it would be free until 8:45 p.m. After we sat down, we were immediately asked if we wanted water, which came quickly. But then the disaster began. The cellar came 3 minutes later and wanted to take the food. We asked for a little more time. After that, no one came anymore. It was only when we reported that our food was taken. I asked for less spiciness, which was confirmed. The food came quite quickly and the starter was also good. The main course was also served in a reasonable time. Unfortunately my dish was very spicy, which I unfortunately didn't complain about. When we had finished eating, the waiter came and said we still had 15 minutes. (Thanks for the tip) No question about dessert or coffee. 5 minutes later he came back and told us we now had 7 minutes left. Again, no question as to whether we had another wish or whether we would perhaps like to move to one of the many free tables inside the restaurant to have a dessert or a coffee. I then ordered a coffee and the bill. Bill came, coffee didn't. I complained about this and the cellar ran away angrily. Two minutes later someone else brought coffee and the bill because the waiter no longer wanted to serve us. I have hardly been treated more unkindly. It had nothing to do with service. I'm well aware that a table doesn't last until 8:45 p.m., but if there's enough space available, you can give the guest a dessert or a coffee at the existing bar or at one of the other many free tables, albeit inside , offer. The Spiecery is not a cheap place. Here you pay quickly with a starter and main course plus two drinks €70.00 and more per person. You can also expect service there!!! I will definitely not go there again and I will also advise against eating there. By the way, we left the place at exactly 8:45 p.m. - it would have been possible without all the trouble.

Why am I giving three stars when everything was great? Food, service, ambience? Well, dear hungry people, because the prices are simply too high. It tastes very good, the dishes look great. The service is quick and friendly. It's more of a beer garden on the outside, very tastefully decorated on the inside. You might think, yes, that costs more. True, a certain amount of expensive is ok. But here the limit has been exceeded, despite inflation. Well over 20 euros for a usual main course. There are many Asians in Munich who charge less for at least the same quality. The cocktails shoot the bird down. 14.50 for a drink with vodka or gin, around 200 milliliters in a glass with ice cubes floating in it. And then the one without alcohol, 12.50 euros, which is more than steep, and strictly speaking it's just a soda. Hungry, thirsty people, if you don't have to worry about money, then this place is recommended.

The food was really good and the ambiance was perfect. Not that many vegetarian options but would come back again.

Update: Unfortunately the Chili Noodles recipe changed. A real shame. The rice noodles instead of ribbon noodles might still be pretty good, but lately it tastes more sweet than spicy, why? The chili spiciness was the good thing about this dish, but unfortunately it's no longer an option for me. We have now ordered from Spicery several times through Wollt and everything has always been great! If you like particularly spicy food, you will be happy with Chili Noodles - please do not change the recipe. The level of spiciness is just right!
