Lovely Thai restaurant just around the corner from Rosenheimer Platz. Food and service were great. Open on a Sunday which is a bonus. Definitely recommended

Absolute must Authentic Thai cuisine, super nice staff and an absolutely fantastic atmosphere. I felt like I was on vacation in Thailand for 90 minutes. What one could perhaps say as a criticism, if at all, is that eating could be a bit shepherd. However, I understand the reserved sharpness here in Germany. Prices are a bit higher but worth every cent.

Food great, atmosphere great. The only point of criticism is that our waiter unfortunately did not respond to our request to make the dishes less spicy. For some reason it was impossible for him to use less chili in my dish, the basil duck. But since it's a freshly prepared wok dish, I don't understand why that should be the case. Of course the food was still very tasty. Personally, I would have liked it a little milder but even better.

Very nice atmosphere, friendly service and good food.

Unfortunately, too many negative points for the money... We stated allergies in advance, which were unfortunately "forgotten" - a succinct "sorry" and that's it... Original Thai food looks a little different - just spicy isn't enough out of. And without having the information in advance that you only have the table for a certain amount of time to suddenly have the last round announced... Sorry, we paid €250 - can I expect more...?

Very tasty but too expensive 8€ for 0.75l water

All the dishes are really spicy, but it has nothing to do with authentic Thai food. I have never experienced such bad, arrogant and rude staff: At the end, when I politely asked for a discount because of the dish I couldn't eat, I was shouted at by the manager. Never again -> no recommendation!

Good, Better, Spicery Spent a wonderful and great evening there with a larger group of friends! What more could you want? But in detail: From the reservation (including changes in the number of guests) to the personal reminder the day before, to a wonderfully unobtrusive and always attentive service crew to a heavenly menu, the whole thing is only surpassed by the food on the plates and in the bowls. The fragrant rice, authentic Thai cuisine at a very high level and a very well-matched wine list crown the result. The Schanigarten, although located directly on the street, is very quiet... during the hours we were there, maybe... Saw 3 cars and to mention it again... The only thing that could be criticized about the service is that the food simply outshines EVERYTHING. THANK YOU for a wonderful evening! See you soon PS: Since we ate outside, we almost completely missed the great atmosphere of the restaurant inside. The short visits inside were accompanied by great impressions and a successful interior. PPS: Price performance is absolutely fine. Yes, it is not a street food restaurant where you can get food for 10 euros. But the quality and quantity of the food, the great service and the wonderful ambience more than justify the prices.

For me, the Spicery is more than just a restaurant, it is a culinary journey to Thailand. Every time I'm there I feel like I'm a guest among friends. The staff is incredibly attentive and helpful. Whether I'm asking for a recommendation for a new dish or I'm unsure about what goes with my dish, they always have a good tip. By the way, the Pad Thai is the best I've ever eaten in Munich! The combination of sweet, spicy and salty flavors is just perfect. The atmosphere is modern and cozy at the same time, and you immediately feel at home. I would highly recommend Spicery to anyone who wants to enjoy authentic Thai food in a relaxed atmosphere.

Yesterday we had dinner at the Spicery in Haidhausen. We hadn't reserved a place and arrived there spontaneously. At reception we were given a nice seat with the comment that it would be free until 8:45 p.m. After we sat down, we were immediately asked if we wanted water, which came quickly. But then the disaster began. The cellar came 3 minutes later and wanted to take the food. We asked for a little more time. After that, no one came anymore. It was only when we reported that our food was taken. I asked for less spiciness, which was confirmed. The food came quite quickly and the starter was also good. The main course was also served in a reasonable time. Unfortunately my dish was very spicy, which I unfortunately didn't complain about. When we had finished eating, the waiter came and said we still had 15 minutes. (Thanks for the tip) No question about dessert or coffee. 5 minutes later he came back and told us we now had 7 minutes left. Again, no question as to whether we had another wish or whether we would perhaps like to move to one of the many free tables inside the restaurant to have a dessert or a coffee. I then ordered a coffee and the bill. Bill came, coffee didn't. I complained about this and the cellar ran away angrily. Two minutes later someone else brought coffee and the bill because the waiter no longer wanted to serve us. I have hardly been treated more unkindly. It had nothing to do with service. I'm well aware that a table doesn't last until 8:45 p.m., but if there's enough space available, you can give the guest a dessert or a coffee at the existing bar or at one of the other many free tables, albeit inside , offer. The Spiecery is not a cheap place. Here you pay quickly with a starter and main course plus two drinks €70.00 and more per person. You can also expect service there!!! I will definitely not go there again and I will also advise against eating there. By the way, we left the place at exactly 8:45 p.m. - it would have been possible without all the trouble.

Why am I giving three stars when everything was great? Food, service, ambience? Well, dear hungry people, because the prices are simply too high. It tastes very good, the dishes look great. The service is quick and friendly. It's more of a beer garden on the outside, very tastefully decorated on the inside. You might think, yes, that costs more. True, a certain amount of expensive is ok. But here the limit has been exceeded, despite inflation. Well over 20 euros for a usual main course. There are many Asians in Munich who charge less for at least the same quality. The cocktails shoot the bird down. 14.50 for a drink with vodka or gin, around 200 milliliters in a glass with ice cubes floating in it. And then the one without alcohol, 12.50 euros, which is more than steep, and strictly speaking it's just a soda. Hungry, thirsty people, if you don't have to worry about money, then this place is recommended.

Everything is taken care of. Fast attentive and friendly service. The food was very tasty and a little spicy. Just as you would expect.

The food was really good and the ambiance was perfect. Not that many vegetarian options but would come back again.

Update: Unfortunately the Chili Noodles recipe changed. A real shame. The rice noodles instead of ribbon noodles might still be pretty good, but lately it tastes more sweet than spicy, why? The chili spiciness was the good thing about this dish, but unfortunately it's no longer an option for me. We have now ordered from Spicery several times through Wollt and everything has always been great! If you like particularly spicy food, you will be happy with Chili Noodles - please do not change the recipe. The level of spiciness is just right!

Visually beautifully designed restaurant. I had a glass noodle salad, which was fresh and tasty! What was worth highlighting was the service - fast, very friendly and attentive. Prices ok, drinks too expensive.

Meh. A lot of bohemian, little substance. The restaurant manager is standing outside the door smoking, the reserved table is still occupied - we wait in the hallway for 15 minutes. Starters unseasoned. The menu states that they are committed to the original cuisine and that there can therefore be no adaptations. It's just a shame that the chef has probably never been to Thailand. Main courses a little better, but also mediocre at best. The waiter was very nice, the restaurant manager preferred to giggle with friends when saying goodbye rather than wishing us a nice evening. As a guest you feel like a nuisance and you pay too much money for mediocre food.

The great hype years of the 'Spicery', beautifully located on Weissenburger Platz, are over, but a visit is still worth it. Delicious cocktails and delicately spicy Thai dishes served in a chic atmosphere - not too much of that has been lost. On the warm summer evenings you should definitely reserve one of the terrace tables - the view makes it worth it. The team presents itself professionally as usual and the francophone gentleman at reception, who always reminds me of 'Monsieur Albin' from 'La cage aux folles', is a show anyway! À bientôt!🍹

A bit spricy and too less vegetarian options

The service was great: friendly and attentive. However, the food wasn't authentic: the papaya salad was completely bland and not even spicy - unfortunately it didn't taste good at all and was just expensive. The main course, Gung Avocado, was so sweet that I couldn't even finish it. Very disappointing for the high prices

We were in Munich for three days and ate our way through Spanish and French cuisine in the Werksviertel. On the last evening we actually felt like Asian. A quick search on the internet and the restaurant was found. We didn't make a reservation, we went there spontaneously as a couple. We were warmly welcomed in the entrance area, but still got a nice table for two opposite the bar without a reservation. Our waiter was very nice, even if a little shy and awkward, but he came across as absolutely likeable. He tried very hard and we appreciated that. We were welcomed with a delicious tea. The food was really good, although my wife found the slight spiciness a bit annoying. She looked at the map again and found no information about it. But it was gone after a few bites and she, like me, was able to enjoy the food. We found our last evening in Munich, before departure, very successful and would recommend the restaurant without service.

Chic restaurant, great reception and service, unfortunately the food has nothing to do with good Thai cuisine😩😩 The massaman curry C1 contained too much fish sauce, was too sweet, not creamy enough as it should be and didn't have the typical coconut milk Taste!! The duck E1 was anything but crispy and the tamarind sauce was probably flavored. Unfortunately, we both had stomach problems afterward😫 Unfortunately, we can no longer recommend this restaurant, which was different a few years ago.

A really good Thai restaurant in the heart of the Haidhausen area. It has a nice vibe, it has a great menu, they provide great service. The menu has something for everyone - highlights include the section on duck dishes, and the section on house specialties which even offers a crocodile dish. Bookings essential for evenings or groups and parking is limited in the area. Highly recommended 👍👍

Terrific! The food was a delight, the team was extremely courteous and flexible, the guests' wishes were taken into account, the service was excellent and the ambience was very atmospheric. I don't usually write reviews but this time I was happy to take the time to do so. Highly Recommended.

Very attentive and professional service, such as welcome tea and nice-smelling towels. We thought the food was good, but had previously heard that the food was exceptionally good - we didn't think so. Good, solid, apparently fresh too. But not sensational. We didn't like the dessert (sorbet made of mango and I think pineapple) - it was rather coarser ice cream. What we really liked was the offer of being able to get a second helping at any time. As I said, the service was really very good. Prices also tend to be quite high, but probably quite normal for the location.

Floor manager was unfriendly to rude and spoiled our stay. Service totally stressed. Food passable.

The food and ambience were very good but unfortunately the service ruined everything. We had reserved for 3 people, but in the end we were only 2 people. The man at reception didn't take us to the table but just said "around the corner" where there were several free tables without a reservation sign. Since he didn't bother, we took the next table and sat down. The waitress came and asked how many of us there were and after we said 2 and asked if that was the right table, she said everything was fine. Shortly afterwards the man from the reception (I assume manager or something similar from the way he acted) came and shouted at us, we should have told us earlier that there were only two of us and that the prices were increasing for him (as they did for all of us) and we would affect his sales because there were only two of us and we were sitting at the wrong table. When we interrupted him and asked him nicely if we should sit somewhere else, he just cheekily said “let me finish” and continued to give his speech about his sales, which has absolutely nothing to do with us customers. In the end we had to move and the man disappeared. Instead of just asking nicely hey can you please change your ways or give us a chance to say something like that. I work in customer service myself, I know how hard it is, but that's not how you treat guests, you can ask a question normally instead of acting like that in front of everyone. Just embarrassing for him and everyone in the room. Plus it was my birthday and he had shown no understanding or insight at all. At the end, boldly say thank you, have a nice evening, as if nothing had happened. After I told him normally that that wasn't possible and that he would lose customers in exactly the same way (us anyway), he just said that I had ruined his mood too and that would be outrageous. So please, who was rude here? What's more, the other table was free until the end and the restaurant in general wasn't super full. I've never experienced anything like this, never again!

The starter plate and the curries were incredibly tasty, the lychee drinks tasted really good and the service was top!

It's very disappointing experience, I am rejected by the waitress when I was asking more tea, she looks very arroganta and said I can only get one cup of tea., it made me lost my face in front of my friend! I am affordable for the tea, and I come here for drinks and food, she ruined my beautiful night. I will complain and introduce my experience to all my friends who woulf like to go this restaurant.

The food is very good. Service leaves a lot to be desired: careless, slow and not particularly trying… also difficult to satisfy a cocktail with almost only ice and little taste for the price…

Our waitress was super polite and very quick. However, there were so many guests there that we weren't asked in time if we wanted something more to drink. It's a shame, because I can absolutely recommend the gray burgundy they have there :-).

Reservations in advance are advisable. We were there for the first time. The ambience is very nice. We were warmly welcomed and the service was very good. The starters and main courses were very tasty. Attention: spicy is really spicy. 😅 The spices and flavors were perfectly balanced. And it tasted very good. Duck with various sauces and soft shell crab was our choice. We were very satisfied.

Actually a restaurant where we always enjoyed going. We haven't been for a while now and were very disappointed with the service and quality of the food. The guest and quality are no longer the focus.

My husband and I love it here SO much. I am a big fan of spicy and can probably eat hotter food than an average person. So this place can bring on the spice. It's also very classy and elegant. The hand soap in the bathroom smells so good.

An absolute feel-good place to immerse yourself in. It smells and tastes like vacation. The roasted “Spicery Rice” and the cocktails are particularly good.

Top Royal Thai cuisine, excellent atmosphere and lighting; the service is friendly and dynamic, they look real happy among themselves and happy to see you too. Perfect place for a chat.

Best Thai restaurant in town. The ambience could serve as a stylish filming location for a James Bond film from the 70s. Decent portions and nice wine selection. The “Chiang Mai Bratwurst” is my personal highlight because you can’t find it anywhere else apart from Thailand itself 👍🏻😋 The only point of criticism: Thai curry in Thailand actually has a lot of sauce - almost like a soup. It tastes fantastic, but unfortunately there is very little sauce and it's gone after half the plate has been eaten 😅 It would also be cool to have an additional small daily menu with changing dishes such as softshell crab and fried rice, laab, panang curry, banana blossom salad, fishball soup or red Thai curry with shrimp 🙏🏻

Nice restaurant and nice service, food seems special and authentic. However, there are no vegetarian or vegan options. It was only when I asked that I was able to order tofu instead of chicken and was told that the dishes could also be made with tofu or more vegetables. It's a shame this isn't on the menu. Unfortunately I found two pieces of chicken in my rice, for which I apologized and passed the information on to the kitchen. That's it.. It's incomprehensible to me that a restaurant these days is so unfocused on vegetarian food. And the fact that there is meat in the dish is absurd. Especially since the restaurant clearly has high standards, the prices are accordingly. Unfortunately I can't recommend the spicery.

Enjoy your meal. Many dishes, including unusual ones such as: Crocodile. Good wines, red wine slightly chilled.

Im allgemeinen kann man das Spicery gut weiterempfehlen. Es ist halt ein In-Lokal, das sehr gut besucht ist. Daher geht es nur mit Reservierung. Aber hier muss man sagen, dass eine Summe von 120,- Euro im Falle einer Stornierung schon eine Ansage ist..... das verschafft der ganzen Sache einen faden Beigeschmack. Genauso wie die Bedinung. Diese war zwar stets freundlich, man merkte aber schnell, dass sie uns nach dem Essen gerne wieder los geworden ist (vermutlich um den Tisch schnell wieder für neue Gäste frei zu machen) Das Essen grundsätzlich war sehr gut - hier ein Lob am die Küche. Was unseren Abend allerdings eine schlechte Erinnerung hinterließ war der Umgang mit der Rechnung. Wir waren 6 Personen und der Betrag wurde nicht durch den Service aufgeteilt, obwohl wir angegeben haben getrennt zu bezahlen. Ausrechnen mussten wir es selbst. Ob wir richtig gerechnet haben, hat die Bedingung nicht geprüft. Das kenn ich noch von keinem Restaurant dass man als Gruppe seine Rechnung selbst teilen muss und dann sogar nach ein paar Sekunden gefragt wird, ob endlich kassiert werden kann. Das hat uns so verärgert, dass wir da leider nicht mehr hingehen werden

Best Thai food we’ve ever eaten and we’ve been all over Thailand. The coconut chicken soup was out of this world. The spicery fried rice with chicken was the best I’ve ever had. We also got some pad Thai (which I never liked but this was so delicious), chili noodles and a few curries which I barely got a bite of because my husband and our friend ate them so quickly. Everything was so fresh you can tell nothing was prepared days in advance and warmed up. I would highly suggest a reservation as the restaurant has limited capacity, we were lucky enough to snag seats at the bar. Also the Riesling was super dry and paired perfectly with the spicy Thai! Definitely go very hungry because you won’t want to stop eating. Lastly, I don’t understand the comments about high prices. As with most things in life you get what you pay for.

Super 👌 Thai-Restaurant mit fabelhaften Ambiente. Die Speisen werden alle frisch zubereitet, jegliches Gericht schmeckt absolut lecker 😋 und der Verdauung tun die gesunden Zutaten sogar richtig gut 👍. Jedoch muss prinzipiell rechtzeitig ein Tisch reserviert werden, da durch die Beliebtheit immer ein großer Andrang von Gaesten herrscht. Habe einen Stern 🌟 beim Service lediglich abgezogen, da man als Gast zwar mehr Ruhe bekommt zum genießen vom Gericht, ☝️ jedoch muss man dafür nach jeglichem Verzehr nach Service suchen und rufen um den naechsten Gang bestellen zu können.

Wir waren im Rahmen unseres Besuchs in München zu Gast in der Spicery und wir können den Besuch empfehlen. Da das Restaurant immer gut besucht ist, sollte man vorab reservieren. Die Gerichte sind authentisch und geschmacklich gut. Besonders gut haben uns die Soft Shell Crabs geschmeckt. Man sollte in jedem Fall eine große Flasche Wasser bestellen, oder weniger scharf bestellen, da die Gerichte doch recht feurig sind. Der Service ist sehr schnell und auf Zack und freundlich. Einen Besuch können wir empfehlen.

Sehr leckeres essen und schönes ambiente

Tolles Ambiente, schickes Restaurant. Leider war meine Ente sehr zäh. Der nette Kellner (der immer fragte, ob auch alles schmeckte) meinte "Oh, das tut mir leid". Da man der Ente schon ansah, dass sie vom Vortag war, wäre ein kleiner Nachtisch oder ein Espresso aufs Haus angemessen gewesen, zumal das Gericht 24,99€ kostete. Einen Stern weniger für die Ente und einen Stern weniger für den gleichgültigen Kellner. Ich komme nicht wieder!

Der Service war seit langem der Beste, den ich erlebt habe! Das Essen hervorragend, man schmeckte die original Gewürze und mit Liebe gekochte Essen. Auch das Ambiente mit Stil und man kann sich nur wohlfühlen! Dieses Restaurant ist wärmstens zu empfehlen.

Habe gestern, Freitag, den 25.08.23 geschlagene 90 Minuten auf meinen Hauptgang, besseres thailändisches convenience food, gewartet. Weiss nicht, was in diesem Laden, ausser die sehr geschmackvolle Inneneinrichtung und der sehr bemühte Service, den aufegrufenen Preisen gerrecht werden könnte.

Ein sehr hochwertig eingerichtetes Lokal, mit schönem Ambiente und freundlichem Personal. Geschmacklich war das Essen sehr gut! Leider haben wir fast eine Stunde auf unser Essen gewartet und als es kam, war es leider schon kalt und wir mussten es zurück gehen lassen. Es kam dann überraschenderweise schon nach 10 Minuten "frisch" zurück, schmeckte aber leider nur wie aufgewärmt. Daher die zwei Sterne Abzug.

Sehr gutes frisch zubereitetes Essen mit tollen Aromen , für mich der beste Asiate in München . Sehr freundlicher aufmerksamer Service und stylisches gemütliches Ambiente.

Absoluter Lieblingsasiate! Egal ob zum Mitnehmen oder Essen vor Ort - das Essen und der Service haben konstant top Qualität. Unbedingt die Chicken/Prawn Rolls als Vorspeise bestellen!

Lange Wartezeit aufs Essen (Personalmangel?), gegen das wirklich nichts auszusetzen war. Schöne Schärfe. Preise auch eher scharf. Optik des Restaurants sehr elegant und ansprechend.
