The food was fried to perfection, whether lamb or beef, we were thrilled. The pepper sauce is a dream and the side orders are delicious. The cocktails were also very good. We will be back and we recommend you!

Were there for the first time with 4 adults. All main courses (spare ribs, steak, Mexican) were great. Sharing an appetizer platter was no problem. Service very good, unobtrusive, but always there when you needed it. Side dishes cost extra but are a good size. Good table size without the squeezing like in many restaurants where you don't know where to put the food and drinks on the table. Reservation recommended.

I change my previous comment who was a complete 5 stars because the quality of the food drastically went down and the prices raised significantly. We don't have a problem to pay reel money for great food but here it became unworthy. The people working there are still extremely competent and sympathetic, that at least didn't change, but is not enough. The prices are now crazy and abusive for the quality so we go somewhere else and we were very good customers. Einfach schade.

I have to say food came very quickly. It's nice to get bread with dip in advance. Food was okay for the price and tasted great too. The staff was also super friendly and attentive. Come again. Only a few parking spaces for such a large store.

Totally cozy and very good food. I had the baked enchiladas with rice and salad. Super tasty and spicy. The salad was crisp and fresh. There was also the refreshing homemade lemonade. Highly recommended. The waiter was really nice and attentive. We'll definitely be back.

Damn delicious food and a very good ambience

The restaurant has, among other things, a beautiful and spacious beer/guest garden in the immediate vicinity of Sieg. However, the parking spaces at the restaurant are very limited, so you have to park "upstairs". This is not ideal for people with walking difficulties or older people. Regardless, the menu had something for every taste and the dishes we (5 people) tried were of good quality, were plentiful, were served almost at the same time and tasted very good. However, the prices are also in the higher range. The service staff was very friendly, attentive and quick.

Oh well… I don't want to say that the food was bad. The fillet itself was quite good. But The ribs were very dry. The sirloin steak was also really dry. And the portion was unexpectedly small for the price. (!) No offense. This is perhaps complaining at a high level. But all in all, I was hoping for more real BBQ under “Southern Nebraska” given the prices.

The Nebraska is located on the picturesque Sieg and invites you to linger in the beer garden, especially in summer. The service is attentive, quick and friendly. If you like American food, you will love Nebraska. We have been there several times and have never been disappointed. The ribs are definitely some of the best I've ever had! The burgers and salads are also very tasty. Everyone should find what they are looking for here :)

Rurally and picturesquely located close to Sieg, Southern Nebraska offers a well-maintained and well-run location both indoors and outdoors. A beautiful beer garden with our favorite places right on the river invites you to linger, you should definitely make a reservation here, keyword wicker chairs. But also very tastefully decorated and cozy inside. Now to the main thing: On our third visit today I had the Aurora platter with three hip medallions on spinach vegetables, the meat was very juicy, tender and aromatic, cooked to perfection, simply a poem. Side dishes such as French fries, sweet potato fries or baked potatoes with herb quark can be booked separately. All in all, value for money. The service rounds off the visit in an attentive, polite and unobtrusive manner. Niklas deserves special mention here. On previous visits I had the Omaha Platter, which was also extremely tasty.

Very successful alternative! Good selection of food at slightly higher prices. Tasty and served hot. The warmth in the guest rooms is exaggerated because you still have to light the fireplace. The beer garden is sensationally located directly on the Sieg.

I had spareribs that were so soft that the meat fell off immediately when I picked them up. In addition, the portion felt like it was only half as big as expected. When I complained about this to the waiter, he said that's exactly how it should be. Very disappointing

Food, service, ambience good as usual. However, the new pricing model takes some getting used to. Main courses, which have also increased in price, are now without any side dish (apart from perhaps a salad)! The supplement must then be ordered and paid for separately. Small bowl of fries €3.50 When it was said that sunflower oil for deep-frying is rare and expensive, the price screw was already turned. It would be news to me that the situation hasn't calmed down yet. There is always room for improvement...

We had a memorial service here after the funeral of my beloved great cousin Julian. Very nice, respectful staff, cool atmosphere and great food! My cousin loved the restaurant and today I know why. ☺️

Southern Nebraska is a great restaurant with very tasty steaks, good Mexican food and nice drinks. In terms of price, there is something for everyone, from inexpensive to high-priced. Definitely a recommendation!

We were initially very enthusiastic about the menu, the ambience and the location and were looking forward to our meal from the restaurant that was recommended to us. Unfortunately, three drinks were initially wrong. Homemade iced tea instead of homemade lemonade. Nothing said, happened, not bad. However, we still cannot recommend iced tea. The food came after a reasonable, slightly longer wait. The medium steak I ordered was so well done that it ultimately just tasted burnt. The foil kaetoffel was just a mushy lump (we only tried it twice). The steak was returned along with the potato - the complaint was accepted in a friendly manner. The new steak was “ok” - really nothing special and really disappointing for a steakhouse. One side was quite good and the other side was still totally raw. I have no idea how something like this could happen in a restaurant that specializes in something like this... What was really wrong was that the new steak came without potatoes and I was assumed to have already eaten them. That wasn't true. I went in twice with my fork. After a short discussion, the baked potato finally arrived. The other dishes were also so overdone, dry and black that they probably would have had to be complained about. These were still eaten halfway. Satisfaction - no. Unfortunately we cannot recommend the restaurant. Unfortunately, we cannot understand the good reviews here. Maybe we were just unlucky... It should also be noted that broken plates have already been complained about in some other reviews on other platforms. We also had a plate with the corner off. In view of the risk of injury, these should really be replaced!

We had a great evening at Southern Nebraska. The location of the restaurant is a little outside of Hennef but the journey is worth it. The restaurant offers a cozy, modern atmosphere and invites you to linger. The service is very friendly and accommodating. The food was really top. We had pasta and steak which was great grilled. We'd love to come back!!!

Nice atmosphere, friendly service, food impeccable!

We ate two meals on a busy Sunday evening, a burger and spare ribs. The burger was topped with two industrial patties that were well grilled, but the quality was that of a very basic diner. The burger was otherwise carelessly topped and tasted absolutely average, like from the delivery service. The underside of the spare ribs had non-crispy silver skin and veins and the sauce was just sweet, no smoky taste or anything like that. Our French fries were not fully cooked. The coleslaw seemed slightly foamy and may be why we're both feeling unwell today... The service was hard, the expressions on the employees' faces did not indicate any particular joy in their work. The atmosphere suffered greatly both visually and acoustically due to the dish station set up right next to the guest tables. We weren't able to order any starters that day...

We had made a reservation and wanted to order appetizers and main courses for four of us. The rushed waitress said straight away that they didn't have time for twice service on a Saturday evening! You can only bring everything at once! But we were lucky that we were able to order drinks more than once!

We were there for the first time on our wedding day a few days ago and were very happy when we left after more than 2 hours. There is a great atmosphere with beautiful furnishings and the service staff were also very nice and accommodating. The price is absolutely right and the portions are really big. The food was absolutely top and delicious! There is also a beautiful outdoor area and you can also walk directly along the Sieg. Cocktails were also delicious and there is a happy hour. Reserving a table online was very easy. We'll definitely be back shortly!

Unfortunately, we found that there were probably not enough staff for the number of tables that were reserved and occupied, but the service staff who were on duty were more than concerned about the well-being of the guests and did everything they could to make things right. So it's a problem of management, NOT of the forces deployed! We also remember the food better a year ago in the same house. The poultry meat was now dry, many parts were only lukewarm and the dips and shrimp only came after we had actually already finished with the meat and the side dishes. There is nothing wrong with the location itself, the location and the house are very nice.

Despite reserving a table for 8 people, there were problems getting a table. Then the drink order was quickly taken and then the food order. Waited over an hour for the food to arrive. Then some of the food was cold. For spare ribs that were well cooked, the cook should first remove the silver skin and veins. It's actually a standard procedure.

Basically super tasty, nice staff, fantastic atmosphere by the water. We sat in the beer garden in the hot summer weather. Unfortunately, our first drink order took a good 20 minutes, which was far too long for me, especially since there was hardly any activity.

The menu of dishes was very confusing for me, so I ordered something wrong and didn't like it.

Had very good steaks with steak herb butter and a delicious mixed salad. Everything served attractively. Service is very nice and attentive. Very cozy atmosphere by the river. Reservations are required in good weather. We would be happy to come back.

Ate there with 4 people and 2 children. The food was very good. But the best thing is the wonderful beer garden with playground. Total child friendly. We come again.

We had a very nice afternoon there, the ambience in the restaurant was very good, outside it was a bit barren in some places, unfortunately the wooden benches there didn't have all the seating cushions, so you wanted to leave after 1 1/2 hours. In terms of taste I would give this a 2, it wasn't the best thing I've eaten in the category so far but I would put it in the top 20. The menu is clear and well structured, and there is also a good selection for vegetarian guests. There were 9 of us in our test and we still got something even without registration/reservation. Parking spaces are sometimes a bit poor, but many people get there on their bikes anyway. There is a playground right next to the restaurant, which our children really enjoyed playing on. Maybe a little tip to the waitress, arguing in front of customers and discussing something more loudly is not the best way. Even if it was just about the area that the other person had probably taken over, even though he wasn't supposed to.

Great location, with an exceptional beer garden...we were lucky enough to sit right by the river...perfect on a warm summer evening! The service is above average, the waiters are great!! The food that evening was sometimes rather average, it was sometimes not really warm when it was served, the fries were not cooked through, the Blondie was dry. The meat is high quality, the burgers were delicious, the brownie was amazing! We'll be back!!

It's best to make a reservation because it was already very full and we could only get a place under the pavilion (which was less pleasant when it was over 30°C). The food was very good and the service was friendly.

We went there for dinner with a larger group. The staff was friendly so everything went well. Unfortunately, the meal took a bit too long at 40 minutes. The food itself (I had spare ribs) was ok, but nothing more. I would have expected a lot more and was therefore a little disappointed. I don't want to advise anyone here, but I can't give a clear recommendation either. I don't necessarily have to eat there again.

If in Hennef and considering a good piece of meat, this place would be a preferrential choice. It is a little remote, but nice to sit inside and outside with very friendly staff. Quality in average is ok. It is not the cheapest and not all items on the menu read American style, and some of it feels careless. A little bit more consistency in the menu, some more self-made feel (the coleslaw really could need some love), and a choice of music that actually fits the topic of "Nebraska" would have resulted in a better rating.

The restaurant is right next to a campsite on the water. However, you don't notice anything from the campsite. There is also plenty of space both inside and outside. The large parking lot above (there are also some directly at the restaurant) suggested this. The service was super friendly and quickly and friendly allocated a seat to other newcomers without a reservation. But now to the most important point, the food! The food was very tasty and well prepared. In my case it was the spare ribs where the meat fell off the bone as soon as I touched it. Of course, as you would expect in an American restaurant, the quantity is more than enough to satisfy everyone. Price-performance is also very fair. For example, the fact that steaks are quite expensive, especially if you expect certain types/selection, is normal today regardless of this restaurant. But here too, the meat and preparation were great. For me, a clear recommendation for anyone who feels really hungry, but also for those who want to spend a nice evening with a cocktail in the great outdoor area.

A nice, American-style restaurant with very tasty food. There is a large selection of American classics, such as burgers, ribs, etc. The Mexican menu is also highly recommended! The fajitas are really fun to eat. The homemade lemonade is also super delicious. There are also choices for vegetarians. Be careful with dessert, the portions are very large! The service is also great, the waiters are all very nice. By the way, you get bonus points if you can pronounce Fajita ;) So if you have some Spanish skills, you can have nice conversations here. :)

Leider in den letzten Monaten sehr teuer geworden. Preisliste im Internet stimmt nicht mehr mit der aktuellen Preisliste überein. Essen wahr heute zum Teil teuer und nicht nachvollziehbar, da die Speisekarte geändert wurde und einige Gerichte ohne Beilage angeboten werden Service war zum Teil grenzwertig, da einige Leute kein Deutsch gesprochen haben. Wir kommen wieder wenn es besser wird. Wir waren heute mit 10 Personen da und waren sehr enttäuscht.

It was a great evening all around. Service and food were great. I can recommend it 100%.

Large selection of beers, everything nice and cold and the cocktails were also very tasty. The food was attractively prepared, the portions were generous and the steaks were perfectly grilled to the desired degree of doneness. Despite the large number of guests that evening, the service at the table was very quick, so we never had to wait long for our order. We found it particularly nice that we were given a short break after the starter and then politely asked when we could continue with the main course. We were absolutely satisfied and will definitely come back there!

Addition 6/22/24: Today the burgers 🍔 weren't really convincing: the patties from the bison burger and also from the Nebraska burger were quite firm pressed meat, which had the appearance of an industrial mass-produced product.
