Wir haben spontan ein Zimmer bekommen und waren begeistert! Sehr schönes geschmackvolles Zimmer mit schönem Gemeinschaftsbad. Wir wurden so freundlich behandelt und haben dann noch sehr sehr gut gegessen im dazugehörenden Restaurant. Im Zimmer befindet sich eine Kaffeemaschine und Kaffee, für den nächsten Morgen. Im Bad sogar eine Waschmaschine, die wir allerdings nicht benötigten. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!

Sehr leckeres Essen. die Markklößchen Suppe war perfekt gesalzen. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis empfinde ich mehr als angemessen. Wunderschöne Lage im Fachwerkbau mitten in der Altstadt von Blankenberg. Service super und sehr freundlich, behält alles genau im Blick. Die Tische sind geschmackvoll eingedeckt. Und es gibt sogar Ochsenbäckchen auf der Karte. Die findet man eher selten im a la Carte. Ich werde wieder kommen und sie probieren.

Leider ist die reguläre Speisekarte am Wochenende nicht verfügbar (es gibt jedoch eine andere Speisekarte). Das ist schade, denn das Schweinekotelett in Pilzsoße ist fantastisch. Der Frühlingsspargel ist köstlich, und die Trüffelpommes sind ebenfalls ein Genuss. Wochenendkarte (siehe Fotos).

Das Restaurant Zum Alten Turm in Blankenberg ist eine absolute Empfehlung für alle, die gutbürgerliche Küche schätzen. Die Lage direkt am Katharinentor ist ideal, und besonders praktisch: Man kann direkt vor Ort parken. Das Restaurant selbst befindet sich in einem wunderschönen, alten Fachwerkhaus, das sehr gepflegt und sauber ist. Die Atmosphäre ist gemütlich und authentisch, genau passend zum Gesamtbild. Der Service ist hervorragend: freundlich, aufmerksam und sehr herzlich. Man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Die Speisekarte ist übersichtlich gestaltet und bietet alles, was man sich wünscht, wenn man klassische, gutbürgerliche Küche genießen möchte. Das Essen überzeugt auf ganzer Linie. Frische Salate, hausgemachte Dressings, zartes Fleisch und insgesamt eine sehr hohe Qualität. Alles wirkt frisch zubereitet und geschmacklich wirklich gelungen. Ein besonderes Highlight ist das Dessert: das hausgemachte Eis ist einfach hervorragend und rundet den Besuch perfekt ab. Die Preise liegen etwas über dem Durchschnitt, sind aber aus meiner Sicht absolut gerechtfertigt für die gebotene Qualität und echte Handwerkskunst. Insgesamt ein tolles Restaurant, das ich uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen kann.

Der „Alte Turm“ in Blankenberg ist für mich die absolute Top-Adresse! 🏰✨ Es ist ein seit Generationen geführtes Familienunternehmen, bei dem man die Herzlichkeit und Tradition in jedem Moment spürt. Ein riesiges Kompliment an den authentischen Chef, der den Laden mit so viel Liebe und Leidenschaft führt. Sein Einsatz in der Corona-Zeit mit dem Abholservice ist unvergessen – da merkt man, dass die Gäste ihm wirklich am Herzen liegen. Wir haben hier die Einschulung unseres Sohnes gefeiert und waren restlos begeistert. Besonders unser Kellner hat den Tag bereichert: Er war wahnsinnig schnell, offen und hat mit seiner lockeren Art für richtig viel Spaß gesorgt. So macht Feiern Freude! 🥳 Trotz der vielen Leute und der Masse an hervorragendem Essen war das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis absolut fair und angemessen. Die Qualität der Küche ist erstklassig, alles ist sauber und das Ambiente einfach toll. Ob für eine große Feier oder einen gemütlichen Abend (Tipp: Die Gutscheine sind tolle Geschenke!) – hier passt das Gesamtpaket einfach. Menschlich, ehrlich und verdammt lecker. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne!

Waren gerade mit den Rädern da. Sehr nettes Café/Restaurant. Leckeres Kuchen/Windbeutel/Waffelangebot/Kaffee Angebot. Sehr freundlicher Service. Und als ich Probleme mit meinem Fahrradschloss hatte, wurde mir unkompliziert und tatkräftig sehr schnell geholfen. KLASSE! Eine Adresse für alle Fälle 👍.

Mega leckeres 😋 Essen. Selten so einem guten Salat 🥗 gegessen. Geschmacklich perfektes Schweinesteak mit Schinken und Käse, dabei lecker gewürzte Pommes 🍟 Zum Nachtisch einen Nussknacker Eisbecher 🍧 mit karamelisierten Nüssen. Selbst gemachtes Eis. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder. Probiert es selber auch 🤩

Gutbürgerliche Küche auch für Veganer ist eine gute Auswahl dabei. Sehr nette Bedienung. Achtung, am Wochenende ist geschlossen.

Optisch ist das Lokal natürlich besonders, durch die Fachwerkoptik. Der Service sehr gut, das Essen war gut, hätte etwas heißer sein können und die Spätzle waren zu durch, dafür der Salatteller sehr lecker. Man sitzt drinnen etwas eng, die Sitzfläche etwas kurz. Aber ich würde dort wieder Essen gehen.

Waren mit Freunden zum Silvesterabend da. Mein erster Besuch und auf jeden Fall nicht der letzte. Gemütliche Räumlichkeiten, sehr nettes Personal und herausragende Küche. Rundum gelungen. Auch im dunkeln war es draußen eine sehr schöne Atmosphäre.

Small update: We were there on Friday for potato pancakes. Everything was delicious and plentiful, and the service was very friendly. You should definitely reserve a table well in advance. Very good food at fair prices; the Drecker family is very accommodating and child-friendly. Delicious ice cream.

Today we ate here again after a long time. Unfortunately, the quality is no longer what it used to be. The goose leg was the smallest I've ever had on a plate, and considering the price increase for 2024, it was almost an outrage. The sauce was awful, and the tiny baked apple had absolutely no flavor. You get the impression that there's not much passion in it anymore. It's a real shame that such a lovely restaurant has experienced such a decline in quality.

Wow, the value for money has deteriorated so much. It's nothing like it was in 2024. Prices have increased significantly, portions have shrunk drastically, and the food is now bland and of poor quality. It's very disappointing, considering how often and with how much we used to eat here.

Highly, highly recommended! Delicious food, good service. Budget between €20 and €30 per person, though. Great atmosphere too, and it's a great place to take a stroll afterward. We'd love to come back.

Top location in beautiful Blakenberg. Excellent service, friendly staff, and excellent cuisine. The food is highly recommended, with superb quality.

I visited the restaurant for my 60th birthday with 10 guests. The food was delicious, plentiful, and beautifully presented. The service was very friendly and everyone received their correct order. I think it deserves a 5*****. The ambiance was beautiful, and I had booked and got the fireplace room. Mr. Drecker, the owner, has a fantastic team, and I can only warmly recommend this restaurant. My guests also confirmed that all the dishes tasted excellent, and some even had too much. We would gladly come back, and thank you very much for this lovely afternoon.

We've been guests for years and are always delighted. The food is by far the best around. The service is fantastic. Always a must! The creamed chanterelle schnitzel from the weekly menu was amazing!

I've visited the restaurant several times and can only say good things! Whether it was ice cream to go, a delicious waffle in the afternoon, or a nice dinner, every visit was great. The staff are great, and the kitchen does a great job. We were always very satisfied with our food. The prices are a bit higher, but reasonable. The dining room is well-designed. The menu offers a good selection of German dishes.

A diverse menu with German classics that are hard to find elsewhere. Prices are slightly above average, but very tasty and the portions are generous. The drinks selection is also impressive, including Alpirsbacher Klosterbräu on tap. You can sit comfortably both inside and outside in the beer garden. A definite recommendation.

Immer ein schöner Ausflug. Besonders freundlich ist Vanessa, immer ein Lächeln im Gesicht, egal wieviel zu tun ist. Bei all der Belastung , unzähligen Schritten mit vollem Tablett von der Terasse zum Restaurant und zurück. Dennoch immer ein freundliches Wort, in der heutigen Zeit so selten. Danke dafür!

As in previous years, a nice place with a friendly manager. The atmosphere was very cozy. The service from the staff (there were quite a few, which is rather positive and rare these days) was mediocre – meaning that they didn't know how to handle the more harmless criticism when answering the "How was the meal?" question. Other employees were rather grim or seemed rustic in their behavior or demeanor. The barmaid, however, appeared rather grim even from a distance. The food was quite good, but the ox cheeks weren't braised long enough for the gelatinous "tendons" to form a creamy consistency (we knew that this liquefies and adds flavor to the sauce), and the sauce itself was rather tasteless. We wanted to top up with dessert, but €1.80 for whipped cream seemed a bit off-putting, so we skipped it on principle. It's a shame that despite the good staffing, the quality of food and service is rather subdued.

Delicious food, brilliant service, 20 people with different dishes served almost at the same time! Not an everyday occurrence.

Big praise to the waiter who served us. With his humor and quips, you could really tell he enjoyed his job. That's really rare these days. I'd come back just for him.

We made a table reservation on a Saturday evening with four people and two dogs. The menu was excellent and the service was very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent. We had the veal schnitzel and the homemade meatballs, among other dishes. Both were excellent, as was the ice cream cake. We'd love to come back, especially since the area around the restaurant is so beautiful and you can sit outside.

The food was excellent, but the selection and portion sizes have diminished. Furthermore, the prices are almost outrageous! Unfortunately, the hospitality and the leniency with vouchers that expired one month ago were unsatisfactory! A waste of money! A shame, you're losing regular customers like that!

I wasn’t expecting this kind of food / restaurant experience from my three-week trip to Germany. It’s been two months since I left Germany, but this restaurant is the one I miss the most, even more than all those beautiful castles and cities across Germany. Definitely recommended!

A very clocky restaurant that has been beautifully restored and exudes coziness as soon as you enter the room. The waitresses are wearing lederhosen and dirndls, it looks chic, but it's more like Bavaria (possibly due to the Asian tourists who occasionally show up there). You feel very comfortable and receive friendly service. The prices in the restaurant are slightly high, but you still get good portions with a good price-performance ratio and very good quality. In my case the tower schnitzel on toast, large even though it was described as "small" on the menu, perfect crust with bubbles, large side salad with delicious dressing. Good meat. We'd love to come back. The ice cream made in-house is also very tasty.

Super If you love red cabbage, you should choose an appropriate dish. It's so deliciously prepared. You can also tell from the staff that they enjoy working here. Everything is just right here.

It's a very nice restaurant. The appetizer and dessert were delicious but when I'm at a restaurant that has such high prices, I expect a sauce made with fresh mushrooms and not canned mushrooms. The pork fillet also tasted quite pungent.

We went hiking on Sunday and I was looking for a restaurant afterwards. It was very crowded, but we got a seat. However, the staff seemed stressed. Reordering drinks was initially forgotten and the staff who were spoken to simply kept going. The food was good, but not particularly good. Great ambience from the outside, half-timbered and castle romanticism, furniture not uniform. In the back area, tables and chairs are a bit simple.

We were here on a weekday afternoon. The surroundings are beautiful The weather was great. 25°. Of course, an ice cream sundae couldn't be missed. I ordered the strawberry dream ice cream sundae. 10.50€. But: It was definitely worth it. So delicious and fresh. We'll be back. You can sit inside or outside. Everything is so lovingly furnished. The staff was also very loving and warm, despite the many guests. We felt very comfortable.

We ate there as a wedding party and were all really excited about the restaurant. Although we made reservations at relatively short notice, they tried everything to make our visit there as pleasant as possible. From the space offered to the possibility of being able to place the table decorations before the restaurant actually opened, they were very accommodating in all aspects. The food was great! Without exception, everyone was completely satisfied with their dish. The service was super friendly and professional. We found the prices to be really cheap for the quality of the food!
