Unfortunately, the pink saddle of lamb was not pink in the middle twice. Otherwise everything was tip top.

Beautiful inn in the Cologne Brauhausstihl in the old train station. When the weather is good you can sit outside. Large amount of space. Good menu and fresh Kölsch on tap. On nice days and during special events it can get pretty full. Centrally located in Hennef.

Very nice rustic inn. Very nice and above all very fast service. The food was brought to our table just a short time after we ordered. The food was really tasty and the portions were absolutely sufficient. A very good idea to stop there. Totally recommended if you're in the corner.

Jain. The service staff was very attentive. The restaurant inside looked incredibly cozy. The outside area was neat. We all had currywurst with fries of varying levels of spiciness. I didn't like it that much. Sauce was too sweet for me. The others thought the currywurst was good. Unfortunately the chef was in love 😉, the fries were a bit too salty. We would give the inn a second chance because of the politeness and the ambience.

The service was great! Unfortunately it was very loud, but that's to be expected in the inn! The food is average! So not bad, but not good either! A lot made in the fryer, but also some of our own well-made things, like the salad and the sauces! For me, the card could be smaller and more homemade! A good meatball with potato salad and fresh potato pancakes Almost everyone loves it! So it's better to make it yourself, no finished products in the deep fryer, and a smaller menu, then everything will work great! But don't get me wrong, it was ok!

I have never experienced such a child-friendly restaurant in the Rhein-Sieg district. Food is great too. It's worth it.

The restaurant is located in an old railway station. This gave me relaxing vibes. The waiters were utterly friendly and attentive. I ordered their "Sauerbraten mit Rosinensoße, Apfelrotkohl, Kartoffelknödeln und Mandeln". This classic dish that represents NRW federal state of Germany really lived up to its reputation. This pre-pickled and well-braised beef dish was the perfect choice during cold days. You could taste the balance of the acidity and the body of the red wine together with the brown broth as the base of the sauce. The mixture of spices gave you warm and homey feeling. The sweetness of the plump raisins was not overpowering the acidic taste. The braised red cabbage added another fruity dimension to the dish. The potato dumplings were perfectly cooked. They had nice bounciness when you chewed. Last but not least, it was the almond slivers that added nice textural contrast.

Looking for lunch we ended up at the Hennfer Wirtshaus and were pleasantly surprised. The ambience is appealing, good middle-class rustic but modern enough, the staff is friendly and the food is highly recommended. My husband was very happy with the lunch dish and the price/performance ratio and I was also very happy with my vegan currywurst. I found it extremely tasty and also the curry sauce, which didn't just consist of warm ketchup. I rarely eat sauces like this, but this one was really tasty. In any case, we will probably eat there more often. We really liked and enjoyed it. By the way, there are still vegan and vegetarian options, I'll try them little by little.

The two of us had a delicious meal on Sunday. Service was super friendly, you could also choose fried potatoes instead of fries.

This was our second time eating out and both times we liked and enjoyed it. The service is on point and very friendly. We can only recommend the inn.

Went here to eat with work colleagues. The kitchen is absolutely top. Good German cuisine. The service is always friendly. So if you're in the area you should definitely take a look.

A little more space between the tables and the neighboring chairs would be desirable, but that doesn't detract from the top grade. We would love to come back here.

Were there for the second time. The first time there was so much going on and everyone did their best and was always customer friendly and quick. The second time there wasn't much going on and we had to wait so long for everything that coffee was forgotten and brought after 15 minutes. Apparently the kitchen did a lot of things wrong when bringing the food, unfortunately it didn't arrive as ordered and one meal came 12 minutes after all the other meals, something like that shouldn't happen. Otherwise the food was good and our waiter was very friendly

We celebrated our wedding on October 11th, 2024 with around 40 guests. For this we used the event room. What can I say, I can only report positive things. From the buffet, to the service, to the location, everything went perfectly. The planning in advance was carried out absolutely professionally by the event manager at the inn. We immediately had a great feeling, felt understood and in good hands. The evening itself went without any problems. The buffet was simply fantastic. All guests told us that everything was delicious. There was enough food available and it was replenished accordingly. The service was impeccable, friendly, nice and everything went smoothly. The rooms were clean, the toilets were pleasantly designed and the tables really beautifully decorated. Of course we provided the decoration ourselves. It is very pleasant that you can celebrate with your company in private. The price-performance ratio is also absolutely impressive in my opinion. We chose the composition of the buffet ourselves. We would definitely celebrate there again at any time!!!! Top organization of the team, ambience and food. Once again a big thank you to the event team, especially to Ms. Holst!!

I deducted 2 stars from the 4 stars! The best and most famous choice for eating in Hennef. That was my review from 9 months ago. Until yesterday, that was also my strong opinion. But then the big disappointment! With visitors in our luggage, who had raved about how good the food was there based on my previous opinion, we ordered schnitzel, tarte flambée and meatloaf. First of all, the good: The schnitzels were good. The meat loaf was quite cooked through and was therefore not eaten. It didn't work! The highlight of the spookiness was the tarte flambée with sheep's cheese, which was hard to find under the flabby salad. Actually it was a dough refreshed with oil with a piece of sheep's cheese. By the way: The prices overall don't match the quality.

The service is just great. A permanent institution in Hennef that can no longer be imagined without it. The only thing that should change: an additional accessible toilet and a barrier-free entrance would be absolutely great! Then the inn would be accessible to many more people. There are simply a lot of people with walkers, handicaps, wheelchairs...

Today we had dinner at the Hennef Wirtshaus. (unfortunately) all three of us feel sick and we haven't eaten so badly in ages! It's a shame that as a chef you can't make a schnitzel with cream sauce and fried potatoes. All tasteless, greasy and low quality! Listlessly done!!! The fried potatoes were half raw, without spices and fatty. The schnitzel with the supposed sauce was only ☹️☹️😫zero taste, a spoonful of sauce.. and that was it for almost €21! Every snack bar does this almost better. I have been here several times with guests and we have been disappointed again 😞... that was the last time. I'm sorry that as a chef I have to say something like that about colleagues, but it's really 😳 just bad!!

Restaurant centrally located at the train station with lots of outdoor seating, which can lead to delays due to the very friendly but limited staff. The menu is varied, there are many Cologne specialties, and many small dishes are also offered. The food is good, but not great. The prices are fair. A good meeting place for an evening with friends, especially in summer.

There is no relationship between price and performance

The service employee was very friendly and attentive. The food we ordered was actually a disaster, cold Leberkas, cold schnitzel in a Texas pot including beans, cold currywurst. All at expensive prices. E.g. the Texas pot, cold schnitzel, a few canned beans and small potatoes cooked with skin and floating in oil, all very manageable for 20.50 euros Chicken breast with ruccola, also all cold, we took fries instead of pasta, which would also be very expensive cold. You can't sit on the chairs in front of the train station for more than an hour without getting back pain afterwards. I've known this restaurant for 30 years, it used to be good and gets worse every year. So no recommendation from me.

Now much too expensive and the portions have become even smaller. Staff friendly and service-oriented but often understaffed. A real shortage of skilled workers in the catering industry...

Food was oh well. Service very, very slow and disinterested. Where we sat (in the back) everything was really dirty because people went out there to smoke. Price performance just doesn't fit. Unfortunately the mushroom cream schnitzel without salad has become very expensive at €21.50. For example in Cologne in the Gaffel, with salad 18.80€ you should rethink the pricing policy for Hennef.

This evening, after a long time, I had dinner in the pub in Hennef again. The ambience and service were very good as always. I ordered my standard meal again. Cream Champion Schnitzel with fried potatoes And what can I say, a bit of a disappointment for the price Fried potatoes are the supreme discipline Not enough fried onions and bacon, then the instant sauce and the breaded schnitzel that fell apart when cut, it took some getting used to But the two absolute minus points were, after a minute the food I ordered was on the table, I just say micro wave, it doesn't work at all and the thick sauce was present all over the plate, unfortunately also over the fried potatoes, so they were no longer there Deliciously crispy, but very soft and taste more like jacket potatoes. Nonetheless, I will Of course, keep going there, but definitely order something else

In the heart of Hennef, in the old train station, a pub with a restaurant and a beautiful outdoor area. The presentation has great potential, but unfortunately extremely loud - especially in the restaurant area. Even when there is little occupancy, there is always quite a hustle and bustle of possible reservations for this area. The quality of the kitchen has fluctuated extremely for years. On some days you get quite good dishes, on other days you get what feels like pure convenience, including undercooked meat (cordon bleu, medium rare, so to speak), borderline dark currywurst, biscuit fries and snarky comments if you speak up. Conclusion: good for drinking beer in a group, alone or for dinner I usually go somewhere else.

Fantastic tasty burger. The shrimp were perfectly seasoned. Bun fluffy, meat perfectly cooked. And the potatoes with herb butter... delicious.

For a change, I ate tarte flambée with knuckle meat. All I can say is: a little more shank meat would really be good for the dish. And as a tip: don't bake the meat, it will be dry and hard, but heat it separately and add it to the tarte flambée after baking. The service made up for the shortcomings in the food.

Ich hatte unseren Gästen erzählt, hier könne man ein gutes Steak essen ….. Das „Hüftsteak“ von der Wochenkarte war einfach schlecht und in Sauce Hollandaise ertränkt. Mit exakt 4 Kroketten pro Teller blieb mir nur übrig, an mein Diätvorhaben zu denken. Und das für 25 € pro Portion. Und der bestellte Riesling kam als Chardonnay. Unverschämt!

May 2024 We actually really enjoy being here. Especially in summer. Then come by on your bike. Drink a little something and eat a bite. Then it goes back again. Unfortunately, the prices have risen massively here and at the same time the portions of some dishes have been reduced. Unfortunately for me the relationship between quality, quantity and price is no longer correct. We now avoid eating and usually just have a quick drink. What really needs to be praised is the service. Everyone is always very attentive and on their toes. A big thank you for that 🙂👍

For vegans there are even more options than the online menu shows. Currywurst is also vegan and burgers are now also available. Food solid and delicious. Burgers and fries were a success.

Delicious food in a nice atmosphere.

I haven't been there for ten years. At that time I was excited about the converted station building. At first glance it still looks like a cozy inn, but you can't take a closer look... I was actually shocked by what it looked like behind the counter on a Saturday at 7 p.m. when it was medium busy: a dirty floor , about a dozen crates of empty containers distributed wildly, areas cluttered with far too many glasses and beer mats and in the middle of it all three to four semi-motivated temporary workers at the bar who couldn't/didn't really want to keep things tidy. A pity. I can't say anything about the kitchen because we only drank a few Kölsch.
