Sonnenberg in Wesseling

An absolutely unique experience! 30 minutes just to be allowed to order drinks – patience is a must here. The glasses were so charmingly "natural" that I asked for them to be replaced several times. The food? Only over an hour's wait, perfect for thinking about your life decisions while you have the money you've already paid for the drinks ready. Highly recommended… if you enjoy adventures in waiting and exchanging dishes!

We had a table right on the edge of the Rhine. The food was delicious, but the selection wasn't your average Greek fare you'd find anywhere else. We happily waited an hour and a half for our food. The service was a bit sparse, hectic, and silly in its communication. Sharing plates seems to be frowned upon. It's a shame when strange comments are made. A friendly smile now and then would have been nice.

We didn't feel like cooking and wanted to try this restaurant. The food was good, the ambiance simple. The service was slow to forgetful due to a lack of staff. Some guests had to wait a very long time for their food because they were simply forgotten. If you're not in a hurry, you can definitely give this restaurant a try. Maybe there are days when the staff are more attentive.

We were on a multi-day Rhine River cruise with our stand-up paddleboards and spent the night in a tent on the beach in Wesseling. So, more or less by chance, because it was the closest restaurant to the beach, we ended up having dinner on the terrace at Sonnenberg. And it was simply fantastic! The food was delicious and fresh, and the service was outstanding! The waitress (Sanchez) was super friendly, funny, and helpful in choosing our dishes. We were able to charge our phones and power banks without any problems, and at the end, we even got boiling water in our thermoses so we could make tea the next morning. So, we were completely satisfied and can recommend it with a clear conscience!

The tzatziki starter was too mild for my taste, the main course was well-cooked meat, the fries were okay, and the side salad was very uninspired. The ready-made dressing lacked flavor; I would have preferred an authentic coleslaw or Greek salad. Service was friendly and quick. The ambiance, unfortunately, wasn't great. Everything seemed a bit messy and lacking in concept. Our table was a bit dirty, or rather, covered in crumbs. We didn't see the outdoor area due to the rain.

We celebrated our birthdays here last week with around 40 people. The advance arrangements with Sawas were relaxed, but all our wishes were taken into account. We had our own area on the beautiful terrace, the buffet was set up in the winter garden (very delicious!), and later we were able to continue the celebration in the dining room. The service was really on point! Thank you so much! A thoroughly successful party! Thank you, Sawas!

This was the first time we've had good food! Unfortunately, we had to wait a very long time for the main course - about 45 minutes. The salad wasn't as described either. The tomatoes and the romaine lettuce were either different or there was very little of them. I would have preferred some communication, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. In the end, we were offered ouzo or coffee. But next time we're in the area, we'll try again - it was good. The drinks were excellent!

We were there on a Saturday and were very impressed. The menu was very well-balanced, with everything your culinary heart could desire. If you want to spontaneously eat outside in good weather, be prepared for most tables to be reserved after 5:00 PM. Just ask the friendly staff where you can stay longer. The value for money is very good. We'll be happy to come back. Thank you for a very pleasant afternoon.

I was in Sonnenberg with my family and we were completely satisfied. The surroundings are beautiful and everything is very well maintained. We were particularly impressed by the food – it was fresh, tasty and lovingly prepared. There was a good selection so there was something for everyone. The service was also great: everyone was friendly and helpful. We had a great time and would love to come back.

The food was excellent! The place was beautiful. But what stands out above all else is the location! Unbeatable! The terrace is right on the riverbank. And from there, a beautiful promenade begins along the Rhine.

Very fast service, friendly, and clean. I've never had an empty glass sit for long here. Greek dishes can be combined. It caters to all diets.

Sorry Everything seems messy, sorry Paid almost 50 euros When asked the innkeeper, He was sorry, he was visibly dismayed. Sorry 🙏 but there was no discount, no ouzo, dessert etc It shouldn't be a nightmare here, it should be a chance for the landlord to think again about what went wrong, which is a shame

Unfortunately, I'm very disappointed with my visit! It was my last visit. The waitress made a mistake with the order. I wanted to order another drink, but I kept getting an insistent "SAME TIME." The restaurant was about 20% full with customers. I had to wait 45 minutes for my food. I didn't like my plain bifteki; it was dry, and there weren't many fries. My group agreed that they wouldn't go back to the restaurant. The beer garden outside is nicely decorated, and you can watch football. So, for a beer, it's okay. 🍺

Everything was great 👍 Especially the ouzo plate

I visited the restaurant a few days ago and ordered an ouzo platter, but so little everything and no octopus, and 17 euros for this portion is terrible but the food was still tasty. I have managed restaurants myself and know my way around so no, the prices are too high for such a small portion. It's a shame and it has a great view. Unfortunately I won't be back.

Beautiful location directly on the Rhine. The service is quick, very friendly and always has a nice saying to say. The food always tasted delicious and was prepared quickly. For us, this is a place where we always enjoy eating out

Wir waren hier am Samstag den 18.11.23 mit 6 Personen essen. Wir waren zum ersten Mal hier essen und es wird nicht das letzte mal sein. Sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Das Essen war sehr gut. Preis Leistung sehr gut. Eine sehr gute Adresse um mal wieder Grieschich essen zu gehen.

Also,wir sind des öfteren dort,es ist immer sehr angenehm, und Herzlichen. Das Essen kommt heiß beim Gast an den Tisch.Wir haben den 80zigsten Geburtstag dort gefeiert, und waren sehr überrascht wie toll sie alles eingedeckt haben, ein ganz großes Dankeschön an das ganze Team. Wir werden dort auch unsere Hochzeit feiern. Noch mal einen ganz großen DANK.

Die Karte ist klein,aber fein. Der gefüllte Spieß war sehr zart und geschmacklich eine Sensation. So einen gigantischen Spieß habe ich noch nie gegessen.

Wir waren gestern dort Essen. Die Tomatensuppe hat nach Wasser geschmeckt. Die Auswahl war Mager. Das Brot wurde noch nicht mal mit Dip oder Kräuterbutter angeboten. Der Hauptgang war Pita mit Hackklößchen und Joghurtsauce. Die Joghurtsauce wurde wie Sahnehäubchen angerichtet. Die Joghurtsauce hat wie Magerquark geschmeckt ohne Geschmack. Meine Begleiter waren auch sehr enttäuscht. Der Service hat Mitunter auf sich warten lassen und es wurde ein Wasser zu wenig gebracht. Der Blick auf den Rhein ist sehr schön & die Bedienung war seht nett.

Ein schöner Ort zum verweilen. Super Biergarten. Essen ist sehr gut 👍 Service super. Preis Leistung stimmt. Schöne Aussicht auf den Rhein. Die Promenade ist super schön zum laufen 🏃‍♂️ Und Radfahren Waren mit 5 Personen dort. Zu empfehlen.

Das Essen hat uns (6 Personen) sehr gut geschmeckt. Es war ruhig. Man konnte sich gut unterhalten. Die Lage am Rhein ist schön. Die Toiletten waren sauber. Es gibt begrenzte Parkplätze auf dem Hof. Ansonsten sind in der Nähe auch Parkplätze.

Aussenbereich sehr schön im Sommer, die Vorspeisenplatte "ouzo" reicht als Hauptgericht und ist sehr Abwechslungsreich und sehr lecker - einfach aber richtig gut. Das Personal ist normal freundlich und recht fix. Wir kommen im Sommer sehr gerne immer wieder!

Sehr schönes Restaurant im Innenbereich. Der Aussenbereich und Toiletten sind noch schwer ausbaufähig.

Im Biergarten zu neunt gesessen, mit schönen Blick auf den Rhein. Das Essen, das vorallem mediterran angehaucht ist, hat allen gut geschmeckt. Die Portionen waren ausreichend und zu jedem Hauptgericht gab es einen kleinen Salat dazu. Sehr schönes Restaurant, um den Abend zu verbringen.

Einfaches griechisches Restaurant in schöner Lage, von der Terrasse aus kann man auf den Rhein sehen. Wir hatten einen griechischen Salat (sehr groß, üppig Schafskäse), Tzatziki und Htipiti (angemachte Schafskäse-Creme), alles gut und lecker. Dazu ein angenehm trockener Weißwein. Der Service war nett und schnell. Preise sind angemessen. Empfehlenswert!

An einem sonnigen Tag habe ich auf der Terrasse gesessen. Viel Laufarbeit für den Service, aber alles in allem waren sie sehr schnell und freundlich. Für 17 € habe ich dann Pulpo vom Grill bestellt. Bekommen habe ich einen kleinen Arm von diesem edlen Tier. Ich denke, lieber Küchenchef, da ist noch Luft nach oben. Optisch und geschmacklich war es allerdings sehr gut. Kleiner Wermutstropfen am Ende: Beim Heimweg bin ich dummerweise in einen Streit des Küchenchefs mit dem Service geraten. Der Kellner wiederum hat seine schlechte Laune auch an mir ausgelassen. Das ist alles, aber nicht professionell. 🙈

Perfektes Ambiente, Essen gigantisch, nette Bedienung und leckerer Espresso, kommen gerne wieder auf die schöne Terrasse bei gutem Wetter

Schöne Auswahl an griechischen Gerichten. Leider hatte der Küchenchef wohl einen nicht so guten Tag, aber wir geben dem Restaurant eine zweite Chance. Weil es eben nicht nur typisch Gyros gibt. Die Musikauswahl, Schlager kam etwas unerwartet.

Einfach super Location. Leckeres Essen, Preise sind angenehm. Personal sehr freundlich. Gerne immer wieder.

Gute Griechische Küche kann man hier in einem großen Biergarten mit Blick auf den Rhein genießen.
