The food was delicious! It was quite a lot for a senior citizen, so it would be great if a smaller portion was offered to avoid so much food waste. But my son loved it. All in all, highly recommended.

The price/performance ratio is good and it's very tasty.

We had a reservation for New Year's Eve, and we were NOT informed beforehand that they only offered set menus starting at over €50 per person. The selection was terrible. The appetizer, mushrooms with aioli and feta cheese, which I waited over an hour for, was a joke – not a hint of garlic, but plenty of oil. The lamb shank was served in a deep plate of mashed potatoes; it looked funny, but that was about it. No vegetables were offered, and they were incredibly tasteless. Apologies? None whatsoever; they said they were too busy. One of the seven main courses didn't arrive until I was almost finished eating. If you can't handle a rush like that, which wasn't even there, you'd be better off closing down. For me, it wasn't worth repeating…a real shame.

We were there on Boxing Day with six people. The service was completely overwhelmed; they probably took too many reservations. We had a table in the conservatory, which had been closed off with plastic sheeting. It was correspondingly cold. Smoking was also allowed there, which didn't improve things. After two hours, our food arrived, one of which was wrong, and another was served with gyros instead of liver without us having asked. All in all, unacceptable.

The beef liver was delicious. The plate was generously filled with three beef livers and fries. I enjoyed it. I'll definitely come back.

We discovered this fantastic restaurant during our holiday. Everything was absolutely delicious. I had gemista (stuffed peppers) with feta cheese – the portion was huge and very reasonably priced. The staff were incredibly friendly, always cheerful, and gave us a warm welcome. The restaurant is very clean and has an authentic Greek atmosphere. Highly recommended! 👍👍👍👍👍

We went there again this past weekend after a long time, as I have no complaints about the food itself. However, the service has left much to be desired. On the last two visits, one dish was forgotten each time, and it took ages to rectify the mistake. The rest of the meal was ready before the missing item arrived. This time, we had to wait almost 15 minutes after sitting down before someone came to at least order drinks. Then we had to endure a total of 25 minutes of the soundcheck for the band that was playing later, which was far too loud with a distorted microphone and terrible feedback. Why isn't this done before guests arrive? It wasn't even that busy on Saturday to explain the aforementioned wait. There were only 2-3 tables occupied outside, and there were also free tables inside. Next, we requested that the platter be ordered without onions, as my wife can't tolerate raw ones. Of course, there was almost a whole large onion on it. We then had to wait almost 10 minutes for the plate for our young son. Even getting a server during the meal wasn't easy. Unfortunately, this was probably the last time we'll be there, even though we've always enjoyed the food up until now.

Terrible! We had booked a table for nine people weeks in advance to celebrate two 50th birthdays. We waited two hours for our food. One of us was allowed to eat alone first… the rest of the food arrived bit by bit! The waiters did their best, but the problem seemed to be in the kitchen! They were offering takeout, but many guests in the restaurant had to wait for their food. We tried to speak to the owner, but he didn't dare come out of the kitchen! The food wasn't up to its usual quality either! In short: our nine-person party will not be eating there again.

A disaster. We waited over an hour for the food. The service was completely overwhelmed. We were just told they were so busy. There were 12 of us and we had a reservation. The food didn't arrive at the same time. It was lacking in seasoning and some of it was burnt. Sorry, but when you take so many reservations, you have to deal with it.

Gyros totally dry, salad dressing only tasted of vinegar, rice with tomato sauce, pork overcooked, tzatziki tasted of everything but tzatziki, and outside it smelled of old railway sleepers

A perfectly ordinary Greek restaurant. The ambiance could use a renovation; it's showing its age.

The dishes are great, but unfortunately they're completely oversized. One dish is easily enough for two people. Why do you do it like that? On Saturday, August 2, 2025, a two-man band played Greek music, unfortunately much too loudly, with almost no breaks. It was impossible to have a conversation with the people sitting next to you, which was annoying.

Hi everyone, I went there for dinner with my husband. There were some strange clients. The lady who works there, doing aesthetic treatments, doesn't know what her actual profession is, but she's definitely not a regular worker.

We were here for a birthday. As always, everyone was very friendly and embodied Greek hospitality. It was wonderfully delicious. From the appetizer to the main courses and dessert, it was a little vacation 😎 That's why we love coming here. The seating is airy yet sheltered. Inside, the tables are pleasantly arranged. Even when it's full, you can have a good conversation. If you're lucky, you might see Greek folklore. I love it here ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ We all had a great time and will definitely be back.

We expected a bit more from this restaurant. Expensive prices and poor service. The salad was poorly served, bread and dip were only available at the next table, and we waited over an hour for the food. The food is okay, but nothing more. The gyro was slightly underseasoned; it could have used more zest; the tzatziki was tasty. It's strange that there was no salad, not even a small one, on the plate. However, you could order it separately, and it was unfortunately far too expensive. Overall, the prices have gone up quite a bit since we were last there. Inflation rates of almost 30% are a steep increase in just over a year. Unfortunately, the service leaves more and more to be desired. One of the waiters stands in the middle of the terrace, clearing tables in a disorganized manner and smoking a cigarette in the middle of the guests! A somewhat uniform appearance in terms of the staff's clothing would also have been desirable; only one of the waiters was appropriately dressed. If you wanted to order something else or needed a waiter for some other reason, you had to call out loudly while gesticulating wildly; otherwise, you were unfortunately ignored most of the time. Conclusion: There are better ones, some of which are even cheaper.

A long wait due to a lack of staff is acceptable, but the food that was served was unfortunately not! The salad on the plate was completely rotten, and the meat was so oversalted that there was probably no salt left for the rice. Overall, a huge disappointment. Food really tasty. Bread, salad, creams all harmonious. Food came quickly in 20 minutes, more of a medium portion. Toilets small but clean. The waiters are attentive and quick. We didn't like the noise, and the seating inside wasn't ours either, but that's a matter of taste. The only drawback: the parking spaces. We found the price a bit high.

the place is quite nice but the waiters don't know English, we arrived at the restaurant almost two hours ago and after 20 minutes they brought us the menus, after another 20 the drinks and after another 40 the appetizers! The dishes still haven't arrived! it is unacceptable, I will not return and I do not recommend it, from what I managed to eat from the starters the food is good but not worth the wait! update, after two and a quarter hours of arriving at the restaurant we received the wrong order. we paid what little we managed to consume in two hours and we left for McDonald's at this point.

Today we were in this restaurant for the first and last time. Today we spontaneously went to the restaurant for lunch with the family. When we arrived, we sat outside and ordered a starter and a main course. I had a lamb plate as my main course. The starter was ok. When the main course came, we were surprised at the pungent, acrid smell. When I took one of the lamb chops and bit into it, I immediately spat it out. The meat was spoiled! Now we knew where the smell came from. I gave one of the pieces to my husband, he took it, smelled it and immediately grimaced. Of course, we all stopped eating immediately. We had all lost our appetite. My husband then called the waitress to our table and explained the situation to her. The waitress was very calm and just said, "Okay, I'll pass this on to the boss." We waited in vain for a response from the waitress for about 30 minutes. After asking again, the waitress told us that the rotting smell of the meat was already known in the kitchen!!! As compensation she would cancel half our plate. My husband then asked if the boss could come to us personally. After waiting several times for about 20 minutes, a young man came. I don't know if he's the boss. We asked him if he knew that his restaurant was intentionally selling tainted meat?! He just replied that yes, the supplier was to blame. We then said that under no circumstances would we pay for the plate. He immediately said that was fine. We paid and left. If something like that happened unknowingly, I would never say anything, but to say that the kitchen was aware that the meat smelled strange and was being served anyway, that's not possible!

My family and I had the idea of ​​going out to eat there on January 1st, 2025, and of course we saw that there were different opening times because of the holiday, we then reserved a table and then received a confirmation for 5:00 p.m., so we did Of course we thought it would be open from 5:00 p.m....there was nothing on Facebook or on the restaurant's website saying that New Year was over...of course we went there and that was it dark..at least a note could have been put on the door..that should be reconsidered for the future

Let's start with the fact that I come here more often because of the perfect location and the pleasant atmosphere. However, I have to say that the service is so bad. The waiters do not communicate with each other, which leads to misunderstandings among guests. The food itself always tastes different depending on the day and the number of visitors. You definitely have to plan for a 1 hour waiting time (on good days) but on bad days a minimum of 2 hours+. Sometimes the invoices say things that were never ordered. Hospitality receipts are also a foreign word here. Speaking of foreign words, if you order a drink like a Campari Spritz, you end up with a wine glass full of Campari. To come to a conclusion, in the best case scenario, this is a chip shop with a nice ambience. Not worth visiting.

Wir hatten diesmal eine sehr negative Erfahrung im Poseidon. Mit Reservierung und trotz leerem Restaurant, wurden wir in ein kleines Hinterzimmer (neben die Abstellkammer) an einen Minitisch zu viert „gequetscht“. Der Service war lustlos und das Essen wirklich schlecht (Fleisch der Grillplatte zäh, nach Verzehr des Moussaka musste ich mich nachts mehrfach übergeben). Wir haben sehr viel Geld für schlechtes Essen, Getränke in einem beklemmenden Ambiente ausgegeben, begleitet von einem Service, dem wir offensichtlich nicht willkommen waren. Fazit: Wir kommen nicht wieder.

Personally, it is our first choice if you are looking for a Greek restaurant in the surrounding area in the south of Cologne. There are only a few parking spaces available.

Let's start with the positives... ☀️ The place looks really nice, with a big terrace, some Greek statues, and a "Wasserturm" that looks like a lighthouse that makes you feel like you're on the greek coast (if you ignore the cars in the street). 🏛️🌊 The staff is nice. I read some complaints about the staff and the slow service, but that wasn't the case for us. Everything was fast, and they were really friendly. 👍 Now, the food. We ordered gyros with salad and tzatziki. It was a bit dry, but the taste was okay, nothing special. 🥙🥗 The dorade royal vom grill was something special, though. It was tasty, juicy, and served with extra olive oil and vegetables. 🐟🔥 It was good, but I have to confess that I was expecting a bit more of the gyros🙅🏻🙅🏻‍♀️ I almost forgot, the baked feta cheese was really good 🌟🌟🌟 In any case, I would definitely recommend the dorade royal. That was really good.

We were there on a busy Friday evening. It's very nice to sit outside. Perfect for warm summer evenings! The problem was that we had to wait about 90 minutes for our food. This can happen when things are going well and everyone orders at the same time. However, it is annoying when several neighboring tables have paid before you have seen your food. The food is solid, but unfortunately there is a lot of good competition in the area, so it fell short of expectations. Would we come back again? Allegedly. But only if we are outside the classic meal times.

I've already gotten to know much better Greek restaurants, the food and service were loveless and not even an ouzo at the end.

I can really only advise against this restaurant - you could rather go to McDonalds. One thing first: SERVICE IS DISASTER. But everything in order: the appetizer platter is well filled, but almost all of it is ready-made. Some of the starters are still much too cold (obviously from the fridge). The waiting time for the main course, over 1.5 hours (no joke), was completely unacceptable. Drink orders also take forever. Main course tasted okay. Service doesn't take customers seriously and forgets orders. I saved myself a dessert. First and last visit.

We've eaten here several times before, but last night turned out to be the last time. The food was cold and unseasoned, the salad was a disaster, it was dirty, you had the impression that the service was strange.

We've been there several times. So far we have always been satisfied and it tasted great. Only today did one notice that the euphoria and love had disappeared. Not only have the prices been raised massively due to the current situation (which is not understandable due to the 19% VAT) but also that the staff treats the guests quite rudely. You haven't finished eating (a side salad) and the waitress comes and literally snatches your plate away. That is not how it works. Now on the subject of food: The side salad was thrown rather carelessly onto the plate and the sauce was quickly slapped over it. In the past the bifteki was always super juicy and tasty but today we were disappointed. The item was far too dry and had simply been thrown onto the plate. The tastiest thing today were the fries. I think we'll keep our distance for now. No matter how much there is to do and how stupid the guests can sometimes be, it doesn't work that way... If you asked for the bill you had to wait forever.

Best Greek restaurant I have visited in a long time.

We came here because of the positive reviews, which unfortunately are absolutely incomprehensible. Firstly, the prices on the menu do not match the menu on the homepage. Secondly, there are few dishes to choose from. You should then assume that the food will come fresh and quickly. Quite the opposite was the case. The wait for the food was over an hour long. The side salad was a joke. Never had a salad like this from a Greek. The dressing was a mustard sauce, just slapped on the fact that something can be seen on the "few" leaves. No coleslaw, no pepperoni, no olive... That has nothing to do with Greek. We know it completely differently. For all four of our dishes, the food came to the table only lukewarm. Unfortunately, the taste wasn't good either (gyros with a lot of fat, gyros in Metaxa sauce with a lot of cream, flavor enhancers and completely over-salted). The prices for the food are way too high. The price-performance ratio here is not right at all. If we had known what to expect, we would have preferred to have a good meal somewhere else. Once and never again!!

We have been going to Poseidon for several years. Approximately 2-3 times a year. The food was always very tasty and everything was well priced. What we noticed in the summer: the restaurant is now too big. Waiting times of over 1 hour are normal. If you consider that it's almost exclusively quick-fried food, then it takes too long. The restaurant is very busy. Anyone who claims to have got one of the approximately 20 parking spaces there without any problems at the peak time between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. was extremely lucky or was there on a closed day. In addition to the actual brick-walled restaurant, there are also covered terraces that are heated in winter. Here you should know that it is often cold and drafty. That's because of the contemporaries who leave the door open. The prices have now also been raised significantly. The main courses are almost all above €19. Here you could have put a little less meat on the plate. As sorry as I am, I can no longer recommend this locally.
