Sole Mio in Rostock

By what right are we being stolen from our lives? On September 20, 2025, we (five people) were at "Sole Mio." We were given a table outside. A prime location, a prime view, and a prime weather. The table was assigned to us after waiting a few minutes in the entrance area. Unfortunately, the table hadn't been wiped down and wasn't prepared for new guests. After only 15 minutes of waiting, we were brought the menu. Thank goodness we already had a copy lying around. So we could at least order, and when we asked, the table was wiped down. Then the time passed... After another 30 minutes, we asked where the drinks were. Through the window, we could see that they weren't even prepared. Then a woman came out, who supposedly was the manager. Without saying hello, she immediately asked briskly, "Aperol Aperol?" We didn't even know she was talking about us. The woman wanted to clear her tray quickly. I just told her to relax; we also had to wait 45 minutes. Anyway, we finally had something to drink. But the food still seemed a long way off. After another 30 minutes, a plate of carelessly spit-on mozzarella caprese arrived for almost 17 euros, which we actually wanted as a main course with all the other dishes. The other dishes (tomato soup and pasta) weren't served. Other guests also noticed that we were upset and confirmed what we had experienced. After another 10 minutes, we called the waiter, paid for the drinks, and left the restaurant without having eaten (except for the mozzarella). We warned other guests who entered the restaurant to think twice about coming back. There was no apology or any kind of accommodation. The waiter was overwhelmed and shrugged his shoulders, trying to excuse himself by referring to the rush of customers. Who would have thought that on a warm, sunny weekend in Warnemünde, tourists would suddenly show up, hungry and thirsty? Sorry, it was probably our fault for bothering the staff. It's an absolute disgrace on Sole Mio's part. Managing such a gem with a prime location like this and stealing guests' precious time... Never again!!! We then went over to the Teepott and had a wonderful evening there.

Terrible value for money! The wait was far too long, and then the food was served in batches. Disorganized! Many guests were dissatisfied and even left before they'd finished. A small example... fish soup full of potatoes and soggy bread and beef schnitzel 🫣 for over 30 euros! You're happy to pay more on vacation, but not like that! It's a shame, not to do it again!

The location is very good, but the prices are correspondingly quite high. Unfortunately, the food arrived cold and partly raw, and didn't taste particularly fresh. The bill was higher than stated in the price list. The waitress couldn't give us a receipt.

Vegetarian mentioned on menu - but the dishes contain non- vegetarian cheeses with animal rennet. And the waiters have no idea about anything.

Poor value for money. Even considering the location, the food should at least be good. The pizza was okay, but nothing more. The calamari fritti is a total disaster. A few squid rings (frozen?) with a thin cocktail sauce, served with white bread that wasn't even toasted, and all for €23. Sorry, that's unacceptable. The service was very attentive and friendly, which was the only positive point.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The white wine wasn't chilled properly, and the food was different from what was described on the menu. The value for money wasn't right.

The one star is for the location. The wait for the food was very long...the turkey was overcooked. The fries were served raw. I pointed this out, and after a long wait, I was very annoyed and got raw fries again, without any apology. It's definitely overpriced for the service and the food. You can definitely get better food elsewhere in Warnemünde.

Unfortunately, it's very overpriced. The mixed salad plate for €17.90 was a bit sloppy and lacked dressing. The pizza Parma was actually very tasty, but at €20.90, it was simply too expensive. The service was very friendly, just a bit slow. I understand that this is a top location, but I still won't be coming back due to the exorbitant prices.

We were there at coffee time, but unfortunately, the milk in my coffee was bad. I pointed this out to the employee, and she said the milk had only expired in September and asked what she should do about it. I've never heard such an answer before; in any other restaurant, I would have easily gotten a new coffee. She just wanted to give me new milk, what was the point of that? Very unfriendly host.

We were there at the weekend and were disappointed 😞. Sitting outside in the sun and watching the world go by is fantastic, but the food is completely unreasonable for the price. My husband had a pizza and I had pasta with salmon. At over €20 each, the portions should have been correspondingly large, and neither meal tasted anything special. We'll just stop by in the future.

I ordered a calzone pizza. It looked nice on the outside, but it was cold and tasteless. When paying, I just said the pizza wasn't what you'd expect when you paid €23. The person who hired it never showed any interest, so it's a shame.

We were here by chance, cakes and coffee were ok. Service is ok. For 2 coffees and 3 cakes we paid 32.70 euros

The bruschetta was delicious. My cocktail was also amazing. The schnitzel was buttery soft. The portion sizes were okay, but unfortunately, my husband didn't like it enough. Price-wise, wow, they're pretty high prices for standard dishes. Perhaps it would be good to offer sauces for the schnitzel with fries and a side salad instead of just mayo and ketchup.

I had a burrata pizza, which tasted okay, but wasn't worth the almost €25 it cost – especially considering the pizza was delivered rather cold. I was equally disappointed with the Aperol Spritz, which had more Prosecco than Aperol. Despite the good location, it was just a shame.

The price-performance ratio here isn't right at all. The staff cares more about their friends on their phones than about their guests.

We were shown to an uncleaned table. After 15 minutes, no one from the staff thought it necessary, so we called someone. When I said we'd like the table cleaned and would order again in 15 minutes, they just responded unfriendly. I thought they'd finished the glasses! The spaghetti aglio e olio was bland, and you could hardly find the oil. It's hard to imagine how this could be done with such a simple menu... The staff were generally unfriendly and lacking in motivation. It took a while between the starter and the main course, even though we were the only ones eating. When we asked the waiter to pay, he simply said his colleague would be right there. After another ten minutes, I turned to him again, and the colleague finally arrived, and we were finally able to pay. When I complained about the lousy service from the staff, they just laughed at us guests. This was our last time here. This kind of food and unfriendly service can only be afforded in a perfect location! :(

The service deserves a negative point. We had breakfast, and only after repeated, energetic inquiries and 1.5 hours after ordering did everyone get their breakfast. The restaurant really wasn't very busy. The breakfast itself was definitely not worth the money. Definitely not going back.

Please don't eat there. Expensive, sloppy fare. Starter and main course served together. Main course wasn't warmed up. Service doesn't understand service. Hospitality looks different these days. We also waited a very long time for the food.

This restaurant is not recommended for service. Apparently, the staff is not trained! There's no structure to the service, a very long wait, and ultimately, breakfast for two people was brought to our tables at different times, and not even completely as advertised on the menu. Not even an apology from the staff! Absolutely unacceptable!

Too little food for the money. On top of that, the products aren't fresh, the minced meat is very bad, and the pasta was still hard. We won't go here again!

Not recommended at all - poor value for money! The food was absolutely not what you'd expect for the price. €32.80 for two half-baked "schnitzels" with fries, reminiscent of McDonald's. I thought you couldn't really go wrong with the salad. The side salad was completely drenched in salty water, with two tiny dabs of olive oil. The food was edible, but the quality was out of the question. For the price, you'd expect something different, not something that tasted more like cafeteria food. Simply overpriced! It's a shame, because the atmosphere was actually quite pleasant and the service was really nice.

For over €80.00, food was served that you would only find in a university cafeteria.

I paid €22 for a salad that wasn't worth it at all. At that price, I expect quality, not just a run-of-the-mill salad. My companion's meal wasn't worth the price either: two cannelloni for €23. As a vacation spot, I know the prices are higher, but I also expect it to be tasty.

Great atmosphere! We can't comment on the food; we left before ordering because no one came after waiting 15 minutes. The location is great, but that alone isn't what matters! Reviews are reported again and again! It's a shame the owner can't handle criticism and is working on the described issue. But just as he never tires of reporting my valid criticism, I never tires of defending myself against it!

At the "Sole Mio" restaurant, located directly on the promenade, you can enjoy your vacation time, admire the sunset from the terrace, or people-watch while relaxing and savoring delicious food. With a little more time and a well-filled wallet, you can enjoy a meal with friendly hosts and receive personalized advice if you have any questions about the dishes. For those in a hurry and on a tight budget, there are plenty of options for dining and drinking nearby. PS: If you generally prefer international cuisine, you'll also find something to suit your taste in Warnemünde with German cuisine.

Just stay outside!!!!! TERRIBLE! AND ABSOLUTELY OVERPRICED!!! The service isn't friendly and it takes a while—but unfortunately, it can't be done without a star—hence the one star. BUT now, to the food—unfortunately, with the bruschetta, you could taste that no fresh bread was used. We were already surprised by the barely touched food at the next table and ordered spaghetti carbonara and tomato mozzarella. The carbonara was in a completely tasteless sauce with a dubious consistency. Although we complained about the food, there was no concession whatsoever. 1 tomato with 1 mozzarella was served for €14.90 with two basil leaves and cheap balsamic vinegar......... After a detailed explanation as to why I needed a little more basil, a few not-so-fresh leaves were added...... A very, very long way from Italian cuisine!!!

Sole Mio is located right next to the lighthouse, and with a bit of luck, you'll get a seat with a nice view. The atmosphere is solid, but you quickly realize that this is an Italian restaurant geared toward the tourist crowd and taste. Although it wasn't busy, it took quite a while for us to get our menus. The service was friendly, but not particularly attentive. The food itself was good; I finished my pizza, and it tasted okay, but nothing special. It lacked that certain something you'd expect given the location and the price. And that's precisely the problem: The prices are quite steep, and the value for money simply isn't there. For what's offered, you can get more refinement and quality at other places. You can certainly eat here, I don't mean to be wrong, but for me personally, it wasn't convincing in terms of taste or experience. If the place had been full, we probably would have waited much longer. Next time I'm in the area, I'd look elsewhere. Once was enough.

My girlfriend and I went there for dinner today. We both ordered pizza. Hers was fine, but mine was missing an ingredient. I had the Peperoncino pizza, which the description says has hot peppers. But they tasted like regular peppers... The service was completely clueless and didn't even ask if anything else was needed, let alone if everything was okay. A complete disaster!!!

Our visit to Sole Mio was, unfortunately, rather disappointing overall. The spaghetti aglio e olio was very bland in taste – it lacked spice, garlic, salt, simply everything that makes this simple dish special. The bruschetta was also disappointing: the tomatoes were very coarsely chopped, and there were hardly any onions or garlic, making the whole thing taste rather bland. I would, however, like to highlight the pork fillet with my wide-leaf pasta – the meat was incredibly tender; I've rarely had pork fillet this good in a restaurant. The service, on the other hand, was rather chaotic. The wrong drink was brought – when I pointed it out, the waitress simply smiled and said the pilsner in front of me was Spezi, and then moved on. We waited for a while between the appetizer and the main course and heard the manager instructing a waitress to clear the table first and then bring the second course. The same waitress tried to take my 1.5-year-old daughter's plate – even though it was still full and she was barely holding her fork. After the meal, the table was only cleared at the manager's request, and when I asked the waiter to pay, he simply said his colleague would be right there. After another ten minutes, I turned to the manager, and we were finally able to pay. Overall, the experience was unfortunately somewhat disappointing. There were a few bright spots in the food, but the service and organization desperately need to improve.

A lovely restaurant in one of the best spots in Warnemünde. I'm also aware that all the prices have gone up, as I'm also in the industry. I was disappointed with my meal for €19.90: spaghetti carbonare, without love, without anything.

We had the honor of dining here today and were extremely pleasantly surprised by our experience. The owner welcomed us warmly. Drinks were served promptly, and the food was exceptionally tasty—a departure from the usual restaurant quality. The pasta was perfectly cooked al dente, while the fish was succulent and flavorful, living up to the expectations of a first-class restaurant. To round things off, we naturally enjoyed an espresso. In summary, our visit was a great success; we will be happy to return.

We spontaneously dropped by with 12 people on a Friday evening. "Could we please have something to eat?" "Yes, of course." And then they moved around, asking other guests if they wanted to sit somewhere else. Yes, it was a bit awkward. But it was done in a very friendly way. We were given a long table, wonderful service, and good Italian food, including asparagus and schnitzel. So there was something for everyone. Due to the friendliness of the owner and his team, we highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you very much!

We came to this restaurant spontaneously and without a reservation. We were greeted warmly and were given a table. The food was very tasty, the regional beer from Marlow is a must for every beer drinker, that alone would be a reason to come back. Toilets were clean but not suitable for disabled people because there were stairs down one floor.

Pizza was very tasty, the salad is not recommended. Very watered down and very expensive. In general the restaurant is very expensive. You clearly pay for the location. Salad for €16, beer €6.80, juice also over €6 and cappuccino €5.30! The service was very nice and it was nice to sit there. But we would go again...

There were four of us here. We reserved a table in the preseason and still had to wait 15 minutes. We ate really delicious food. The service was very friendly. The ox cheeks were the dish of the day and were extremely tender and delicious 😋

Pizza Salami for just under €17 was good. Wiener Schnitzel for 32€ was also good drinks cold and fresh. The service makes an effort, but due to the many guests and guest changes, they are fully occupied with completing their main tasks, there is no question of additional drinks, dressings, etc. For example, there was no lemon with the schnitzel, the side salad came separately and with a very oily dressing, probably just olive oil and spices/herbs. For the high price (4 people including a child 110€) you can expect more. Nevertheless, you have to say that they deliver well, just a little Italian love and care is missing.

A place that I have never experienced before. The ambience is very nice and inviting. We were warmly welcomed and shown to the table and then we must have drifted unnoticed into a parallel universe. A look at the menu was promising and increased the hunger. The prices gave me hope that I could expect really good Italian cuisine. But then everything turned out differently. In terms of taste, we were in no man's land. Fat, fat and more fat, actually a flavor carrier. We searched for the taste in vain. There was a component error in a dish and when I asked the waitress and promised to take care of it, it was never seen again. When we asked for the bill, the plates were still full and they were ignored. No questions asked if “everything was OK. Goodbye forever. Something can always go wrong and food is a matter of taste. Here, however, customers are being ripped off and the catering industry is being trampled on. It's a shame about the beautiful location.

The two of us sat outside very nicely today, 1 star for that and 2 for the quick service. The fact that the prices are so high is solely due to the exceptional location. The quality of the chef's salad we ordered was subpar, the dressing was watery, the ratio of lettuce leaves to the rest wasn't right, the pizza had no taste - people probably pay attention to cheapness when shopping here. A typical tourist trap for me.

We went there for dinner for the first time. The Bolognese for children was an absolute hit - absolutely delicious. The Wiener Schnitzel was not manageable, the portion was unnecessarily large and therefore expensive. A service person was super, super friendly, but the interaction with the colleague wasn't as good as you would like and therefore a bit inattentive.

We went to this restaurant for dinner today and unfortunately it was a complete disappointment. The evening started quite well - the starter was actually the only positive thing about our visit. Well prepared, taste OK, but that's about it. After the appetizer, things went downhill rapidly. We had to wait over an hour for our main courses - and that with the restaurant half full. No apology, no indication from the staff that it might take longer. When the courts finally came, it was sobering. The taste is boring and definitely not worth the price. The service was disastrous. Not only did the staff seem completely inattentive and disorganized, after eating we had to wait another 30 minutes to even be able to pay. We tried several times to get the staff's attention, which felt like they were completely ignored. That was simply annoying and unprofessional. If you can only serve a good appetizer and manage to ruin your guests' evening with endless waiting, you should think about it. We're definitely not coming back!

During our vacation in Warnemünde at the end of August, we stopped by here on the first evening. The very nice and courteous service brought the extremely quickly prepared food to us at the outdoor table. The pizza was awesome. I have to admit, I have never seen a prosciutto pizza like this. The dough is really nice. The Bolognese of my companion was also more than on point. We ended up staying here three times during our vacation and we'll definitely stop by again next time. I can only recommend the restaurant. And if you're upset about the prices, please don't forget the location, the ambience and the wage/purchase and operating costs. Top!

Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for our food and drinks. Unfortunately, I can't understand it, given the restaurant's location, where you know there's a lot going on and there's so little staff. At times it seemed to me as if they were overwhelmed. And unfortunately the food was so little that we didn't even feel full. Really a shame.

Congratulations, Sole Mio managed to help me get the most expensive (19 euros) and at the same time the worst Pizza Tonno. How you can make such a tasteless pizza is really a mystery to me. The service was okay for us, but all the employees are obviously under the supervision of the head waitress, which doesn't make the atmosphere particularly pleasant. Well, any portion of fries on the beach would have been better. We were there on August 28th, 2024 and will never be there again.

Normally I avoid negative Google reviews, but what I experienced myself in this restaurant is very contemptuous of customers and quite negative. After complaining about the poor quality of the food, you had the feeling that you were immediately treated unsympathetically. Instead of offering alternatives or apologizing for them, the customer was treated unsympathetically. Words from the waiter/shop owner: You can be lucky that I'm already in a bad mood today and I won't say anything about it. When paying, this gentleman came to the table again and told us not to enter his shop in the future. I have not experienced such disgusting behavior in response to criticism in the last 30 years. The waitress in turn apologized for this disgusting behavior. She was visibly uncomfortable with how we were treated. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend the restaurant. There are plenty of other places along the river where you will receive a warmer welcome. In this restaurant, sympathy towards the customer is out of place. The owner should learn how to deal with constructive criticism instead of expelling a customer from the house. Ridiculous and levelless. There isn't even 1 star for this. Either way, we would never have gone to Sole Mio again.

We had dinner there on a Saturday. The prices are far too high for the dishes and the service offered there. The waiters can't even smile and walk around chewing gum. The head waitress "snorts" at her employees in an unfriendly manner in front of the guests. We sat on the edge on the upholstered bench and the boss stood 20 cm next to us with his shoes on the bench to change something on the patio foil. Sometimes he stood to the right of us and sometimes to the left. Even though we ate there. Such work should be carried out before or after opening. A man walked through the restaurant in only swimming trunks and bare feet who wanted to go to the toilet and was not a guest. Something like that should be stopped. The pizza was watery and incorrect dishes were brought to the table. The noodles were OK, but the portions were really small for the price. For this price level, we cannot recommend the restaurant.

Anything but Italian, especially not the ambience. The food was tasty, but the portions were very small and there was unfortunately no fresh garlic. Pizza large, well topped and juicy. Awareness due to different floor heights and steps within the building is important. Very difficult for those with visual impairments.

We ordered an entrecot and the saffron pasta. The meat was incredibly good, perfectly seasoned and just perfectly medium, the noodles were a taste experience and the salad with it was just good. I can only recommend it!

We took some time out here during the Hanse Sail. We sat at the tables in front of the restaurant and watched everything going on. Due to the exquisite location, it is a bit expensive. The iced coffee was ordered and brought without cream. However, he could have been a little stronger. The service was ok.

Waiter somehow not oriented, empty drinks with food. Pizza for €22 soggy, salad tastes very empty. You can eat here, but for the current price level I would look for something else. I don't actually write reviews, but we were so disappointed today that this has to go! After the three of us arrived, we got a table and the cards. So far so good, but we weren't allowed to order until more than 30 minutes later. Changes to the dishes/drinks were only accepted with a lot of theatrics and objections. First there was a starter and a main course. The drinks and cutlery didn't arrive until ages later. The other main courses came much later. The salami pizza had the plastic wrapper still around the salami. When I asked the boss, he was just cheeky and asked what he could do for it now... The Caesar salad was OK, but the cannelloni were barely edible. The service and prices are just a disgrace. Unfortunately you can't give 0 stars! What a disappointing evening.
