We waited over an hour for our food and then we were treated like we were small children and the waiter was also really unfriendly And where we had paid he said that it would cost me 31.60 and then he came back with the receipt and it said 34.60 and he wanted the rest of the money

Review: A Mexican Nightmare Sometimes you experience culinary revelations in restaurants - unfortunately this time it was of the negative kind. An evening that was supposed to be characterized by spicy, authentic flavors turned out to be a first-class taste disappointment. Let's start with the obvious: spices? None. Every dish tasted as if every form of flavor had been removed as a matter of principle. Rather than being fresh and citrusy, the ceviche was drowning in mayo – an affront to everything ceviche stands for. The beef tartare was half avocado, which not only completely ruined the texture, but also destroyed any balance in the dish. And then the tacos. There were three pieces on the menu - two tortillas were brought to the table. Two. And again: no spices, no sophistication, just bland boredom. The guacamole was so coarse that you sometimes bit into half an avocado. A creative interpretation? Probably more like sloppiness in the kitchen. As if that wasn't bad enough, some of the food was also burnt. The fries? Charred, hard sticks that no longer bore any resemblance to edible potato pastries. The pork belly? A tough, charred mass that would only have been useful as a doorstop. Absolutely not edible. The cocktails were okay, but definitely not a consolation given the prices. Speaking of prices: completely excessive for what was offered here. Regarding service: The store was full of disinterested staff who obviously didn't feel responsible for anything. Except for the male waiter with the short hair – he was the only person who was actually working. The rest? A prime example of lack of commitment and listlessness. Conclusion: If you're craving real Mexican food, you should give this place a wide berth. Lovelessness is served here - and at a price that spoils the last bit of your appetite.

The stars are only for the ambience. The only competent waiter in the shop who was willing to work was the nice waiter with short hair and dark glasses, unfortunately I don't know his name but he was great but unfortunately not responsible for us. It felt like no waitress in this shop had the feeling of being responsible for anything 🙂 other than standing around disinterested and bored or chatting with the bartender...waited 20 minutes for bread after asking. After the starter, we waited 15 minutes until a waiter deigned to ask if we wanted our main courses. Glasses were only cleared away upon request. Nobody asked if we wanted something more to drink. The main course and side dish were burnt. When I reported this, the waitress didn't really care. “Ah okay” was the only answer and the question whether we wanted to tip less. 🙂 👍 We also had to wait forever for cutlery. The food itself was very unseasoned, as mentioned burnt and not good.

A real insider tip – fantastic bar with a great bartender!! I was recently in Paulos and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere is cozy and stylish at the same time - just the right place to end the evening in a relaxed manner. The furnishings are designed with great attention to detail, so that you immediately feel at home. A special highlight is the bartender! (I think his name was Rasheed). Not only can he mix excellent drinks, but he can also create a great atmosphere with his friendly manner. He always has a recommendation that suits your taste perfectly. You can immediately tell that he does his work with passion. The drinks menu leaves nothing to be desired - from classic drinks to creative creations that you won't find anywhere else. I can particularly recommend the Pornstar Martini, which impressed with its fresh ingredients and great presentation. All in all a great place for a relaxing evening with friends or a special occasion. I'll definitely be back and can only warmly recommend Paulos! See you soon !

Very attentive waiter and super tender ribs

The restaurant looked very inviting and had a pleasant atmosphere inside. However, we were left standing at the entrance and ignored. Once we were seated it took an excessively long time to be served. Afterwards the gentleman apologized…but it was still inappropriate. The food looked and tasted impressive, but it was only lukewarm, which made it seem like it had just been warmed up. The food was also served quickly, which confirmed for us.

Everything was very good. One must particularly emphasize the friendliness of the service!! The food was also really tasty.

The restaurant has probably reopened. Older reviews refer to the predecessor - 4.4 stars therefore seem to be borrowed from the predecessor... Anyone expecting a culinary highlight with South American cuisine will be disappointed. Tex-Mex does it better. The waitress was very friendly. The kitchen couldn't keep up with the orders, even though the restaurant wasn't fully occupied. We had to wait 45 minutes for our starter, the main course also took a long time. The waiters could be more discreet in their conversations/discussions about where which food goes. The store is beautifully and modernly furnished. In my opinion, there is still a lot of room for improvement here.

Changing the concept and adopting the ratings is a bit absurd. The 5 stars were for the SOJO. Original review: Very good and creative cuisine! I also liked the relaxed atmosphere, the staff were allowed to joke around and have fun at work, and the service always came with a smile on their faces. I'll definitely come back when I'm in Munich.

The food was rather average and too expensive for what was on offer. Even though the service was very friendly, I wouldn't go there again.

The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and even though it was very busy, the volume was pleasant. I had taco pollo and my friend had rib's and we were both very satisfied. The food was very tasty and the service was also very good. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back.

After 1.5 hours we had to leave without food. To find out that our food wasn't ready, we had to ask twice to even get any feedback. As compensation there wasn't even drinks on the house. It's a shame that you can't give 0 stars

The staff were initially very nice and accommodating, but over time they seemed more and more stressed, which unfortunately became apparent in their service to customers. The food was mediocre (starter very poor, main course and dessert were ok). We paid €150 for two people - unfortunately the food and service weren't good enough for that.

The food was not as expected. The starter and main menu hardly reflected the Google reviews. Service from the staff was filled with surprises. The waitress accidentally tipped the food on us, which we understood, but there was no compensation whatsoever. We also asked if the staff could charge our cell phone, to which the waitress said no problem and after an hour when I walked past I saw the cell phone just lying on the table and not charging. After asking several times, I received it back empty.

First of all, the ambience was okay. The location is easily accessible and it is modernly furnished, but the same music plays constantly during dinner. We were there today on New Year's Eve and the price of the menu is not justified at all. Price-performance equals 0. We each had a starter and a small main course, neither of which was anything special and didn't taste particularly good either. The menu alone cost €69, drinks are not included. On top of that there is the poor service, forgetful employees who you have to tell where which food was ordered. Were very scared! Not recommended

I'm speechless, I've never visited such a bad restaurant in Munich. The service was extremely overwhelmed (despite low customer traffic). The table next to us, which came clearly after us, was served first. After ordering, the employee came three more times to ask again what we had ordered. In addition, the food was regularly brought to the wrong tables. We had to wait far too long for the food; here, too, the waitress said half an hour before the food was finally brought that the food would come “immediately”. The price was incredibly overpriced for the mediocre taste of the food. The only positive thing about this restaurant is the ambience, although here too it has to be said that the tables are so close to each other that you think you are sitting at a table for 6 instead of the desired table for 2. The guests around us were also visibly dissatisfied. We will definitely not eat here again and can NOT recommend the restaurant.

Some confusion here since a lot of the high reviews seem to be of the previous sushi place. One of the things we ordered was the mushroom ragu taco (for 20eur), which was just sad looking and tasting (see photo). Also a 10% service charge / tip seems to have been added.

I don’t understand the good reviews. The ambiance does not fit with the food at all (and neither do the prices). We paid 85€ for something we consider bistro quality. It was burnt, bland and felt like it was prepared by an amateur cook. Oh and FYI photos of the food on google don’t match the actual menu anymore (sushi vs tacos?) - very misleading.

The food is incredibly good and the ambience is great. But I've really never experienced such bad service. The staff is impossible. We really thought we were in the wrong film. That's the only reason I would never go there again. EVERYONE (except the bartender with the dark long hair) was totally unfriendly and had no idea how service worked. At first you were greeted very unfriendly by a blonde employee. Several things in the order were simply forgotten. After we had to point this out several times, they didn't apologize and just said "I forgot, there's so much going on today" (there were maybe 5 tables occupied and a lot of staff there). Maybe the dark-haired colleague could have helped. However, she was busy looking arrogantly at the guests and putting on make-up in the women's toilette.

The furnishings are modern and tastefully designed, which immediately creates a pleasant atmosphere. The service was simply outstanding - the staff were attentive, friendly and always tried to make our stay unforgettable. The food was also very tasty. Every dish was not only a visual delight, but also a true dream in terms of taste. From the starter to the delicious main courses - everything was prepared to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant! A perfect place for a special evening or simply to treat yourself.

Unfortunately the food is not recommended, nothing special, far too expensive! The menu is very clear. The food at Sojo was extremely tasty, it's a shame that the quality has deteriorated so much after the change.

Sojo used to be here, but the owner changed and now you can find Amazona's Bar & Cuisine here. The ambience is nice, but it was taken over from Sojo, which was known for its great interior and where I felt more comfortable. The food tastes good, but some portions are too small and don't fill you up. Typically in Munich, the price is rather high. The service leaves a lot to be desired. We had to wait an hour for our food and had theater tickets and were worried that we wouldn't get our food on time. The whole organization of the restaurant needs to be better. If you always have to wait so long for your food, the restaurant won't be able to last long. The restaurant owner (at least the gentleman seemed like the boss) asked the table next to us if it was tasty and if they were satisfied. When one of the women answered no, he walked away without a word... There doesn't seem to be any ability to take criticism, although it would be important here to get the restaurant running.

Very nice atmosphere, but unfortunately the service ruins everything. Not everything we ordered was brought to us, but in the end everything was put on the bill... After our complaint, we were offered to pack the missing things to take away instead of correcting the bill. After we had the struggle with the correct invoice behind us and we finally paid by card, it suddenly said that the payment didn't work, and without speaking to me the card reader was in front of me again. Luckily I checked my bank app, otherwise I would have paid €140 twice!

The food was okay, but we waited an hour for our aperitif, then another hour for our starter. At that point we were already thinking about just paying and leaving. After asking several times, we finally received our main course after 3 hours. This was quite tasty but not outstanding either. The price-performance ratio is more than bad. Overall we had the feeling that the staff were more than overwhelmed, even though it was relatively empty even on a Saturday evening.

The food was very good! Unfortunately the service wasn't good. Appetizer came before drinks, but had to wait a very long time for everything else! You get the feeling that the service can't keep up...when we were there it was only moderately busy!

The ambience is quite good if you knew the restaurant before. It just has less class now. The food is never worth the price. Apart from the fact that after the starter we had to wait a full hour for a grill plate for 2. The only thing freshly prepared was a rather puny steak. We like to take photos of the food, but there was nothing worth showing here. There was also a hectic pace among the staff, it was simply unpleasant here.

A bizarre shop that deserves the rating of absolutely not recommended. The first “highlight” of the evening was when the waiter wanted to put away our cutlery because he was convinced that we didn’t want to eat anyway. Clearly, the wave with the fence post: “Food? Not with us!” The drinks? If you don't think a bottle of water for €7.50 is daring enough, then let yourself be surprised by a frozen margarita in a long drink glass without a straw... a tongue-acrobatic pleasure. Amazonian cuisine? More of a culinary trip around the world in the wrong direction - there was no sign of the Amazon here, at most that what was being served could be geographically located far away from it. Particularly noteworthy was the almost obsessive questioning about side dishes that could potentially be ordered. Unfortunately, we also missed this subtle hint from the staff that we would probably leave the store hungry without them. The service? Unconventional would be the appropriate euphemism. But hey, who wants boring, professional service? The ambience? Instagrammable! But unfortunately it's more appearance than reality. As soon as you put the camera aside, the shine crumbles faster than the “Burrito di Pollo”, which was at least garnished with a precisely withered coriander leaf – a real eye-catcher! Even flowery-named dishes like “Savory Crispy Pollo” couldn’t hide the fact that these are a manageable number of chicken nuggets. These were accompanied by a breathtaking red cabbage in cream dressing creation that is hard to beat in terms of simplicity. And then the tacos – an absurd masterpiece of deconstruction. A dusty taco from the bag filled with half a load of lettuce, and a second taco that lonely housed the rest of the filling. The prices? In keeping with the Amazon theme: as tall as the trees in the rainforest. For what ultimately ended up on the plates, the pricing was analogous to the distance of the food offered for sale to the Amazon. One could easily have expected that the withered coriander leaf was at least made of pure gold. A truly unforgettable experience - but not for the right reasons!

Scandal...scandal...scandal... This place is just bad: the ladies' room stinks and is completely filthy... The service is an impertinence...When my wife said goodbye, the bald waiter simply turned his head to the side...he was disappointed with the tip. We waited over an hour for the food...plus it tasted normal...for the price it should taste better... It's better to go to a snack bar...here it's a complete waste of money and time.

Great atmosphere. We tried three course. Sushi was normal. Ramen soup was tasteless and prawns were good. We waited quite long for main courses to arrive. Service was okay.

To clear up any confusion, this is not a sushi place. The sushi place closed and Paulo’s, opened up a week ago. Google has not updated their information. On to the review, the restaurant is incredibly vibey: awesome decor, moody lighting and chill music. Food was delicious and had good flavor. I ordered the pork ribs and they fell off the bone, would recommend. Can’t comment on the drinks as we ordered beer and wine but they looked good from the menu. Server was fantastic, nothing but good things to say. Would come back!

We were thrilled - at the opening and also 2 days later with the standard menu. Great ambience, not what I expected on Schwanthalerstrasse. Great food and staff super friendly. Would love to come back with friends.

Terrible place, bad food, expensive and additionally they charge you more money, they do not provide an invoice, I made the complaint and the only thing they say is that they are sorry, that they are going to inform the boss. Be careful, they also want to sell you more food than you normally order, don't fall into the trap.

Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food because I reserved a table for a bachelorette party there and saw by chance on Google the day before that it was temporarily closed. No one was available by phone, on the same day I received a text message from Open Table confirming the reservation, so no notification was given there either. A day later I receive a reply to my email that my reservation has been cancelled. It was an incredible disgrace not to inform a reservation with 7 people for a Saturday that it was closed.

We went there as a group of girls with great hunger and expectations and were very disappointed. The waitress was very friendly. But that’s it for the positive points. Personally, the ambience was too cluttered with decorations, the price-performance ratio is a JOKE. Neither the sushi portions, nor the South African chicken or even the teryaki skewers fill you up. All of this would be okay at most as an appetizer for a different price. I love Asian food and have rarely eaten such crappy food - never again

Sushi is very delicious and varied, the staff is very accommodating. However, there is a lack of selection of desserts and they are also poor in taste and overpriced. But the atmosphere is definitely worth a visit!

In my personal opinion, not good. We went for new years eve 2023-2024 and did get a menu that wasn't announced on the website before (at least we didn't find it hours prior). It was more expensive than we were expecting. The food was quite good quality and the service was friendly in our opinion. Still, we were also feeling a bit disappointed with the portions size for the price we were paying. Also, at the end, we felt disappointed again since we were charged a tip slightly higher that we didn't choose.

They brought it in about 10 minutes. Very tasty, hot rolls have an elegant taste. Very caring staff. I recommend ! 🍽️🍾

Das Essen war sehr lecker, es kam auch schnell. Wir saßen draußen, das war sehr angenehm. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen.

Service was poor, we weren't served for a long time until one of us got up, inattentive and didn't respond to criticism. The ramen was salty (soup, noodles + meat) so we ordered more water a few times to top it up, which didn't help. After ordering three times, someone finally offered to make the soup again, the pork belly, unfortunately lukewarm, when we asked if it had rice The waiter said yes, but unfortunately it came without and when we asked someone else they said no, so we ordered more rice, unfortunately there was no normal rice but sushi rice. South African chicken, overpriced, also lukewarm. Sushi ok, nothing special.

At first glance the store makes a nice impression. However, the dream of a beautiful sushi restaurant in downtown Munich is shattered when you open the menu and see the prices. Normally I'm not so fussy about prices, but in this restaurant the price-performance ratio is absolutely not right. If you have a small stomach and are definitely not hungry you can eat here, but a person who is hungry will either have no money left or will still be hungry. The service, well, our order was forgotten, which can happen every time. But it wasn't even admitted. Certainly for the location it's worth a look from the outside and maybe a drink but not going out to eat. The decoration is also questionable, giraffes that look more like a male genitalia from below. It's a shame, I was hoping for more.

Very nice interesting Japanese-South African restaurant right next to the German theater. Stylish furnishings, pleasant atmosphere. Very nice, courteous service. The food was great, highly recommend the South African style chicken and sushi. Gladly again.

Das Restaurant ist direkter Nachbar des Deutschen Theaters. Daher haben wir für 17 Uhr reserviert, um gemütlich vor der 19 Uhr Vorstellung zu essen. Das Restaurant öffnet um 17 Uhr und war daher noch leer. Die Vorspeise kam gleich nach der Bestellung, auf die Hauptspeise haben wir eine Stunde gewartet. Das Ambiente ist gemütlich, die Auswahl auf der Karte "überschaubar", das Essen leider nur durchschnittlich und der Service schlecht organisiert. Für uns leider keinen zweiten Besuch wert.

The food was great, but the service was rushed that evening due to the full restaurant. But that meant that not much happened with the service - apart from taking the order.

More appearance than reality... Super nice location, service could have been better, quite inattentive, guests without a starter got the main course with the other guests' starters. Tuna steak for €28 was sobering and well done. The avocado tartar for €18 was also limited. So apart from the location itself, unfortunately no real recommendation.

A stylish restaurant, but the prices don't do justice to the quality of the dishes. The beer had been expired for 2 months and I was told that was the date of manufacture.

The atmosphere is really exceptionally beautiful. The drinks were solid. Unfortunately, the food was extremely mixed - from okay to terrible. The dessert with the Mochi ice cream was unfortunately a very negative ending for us and was inedible. Even though we had given the feedback, it was not addressed - a shame.

Waitress was rude and racist- I ordered food that I didn’t like and she got an attitude asking me what I dont like about the food. She pre judge that I wasn’t going to pay for it just because I sent it back— when in reality I never said I wouldn’t pay. I just simply ordered something else that I knew I would enjoy. The waitress rushed to conclusions and made a scene. I will never go back with that behavior.

Very nice atmosphere and friendly waiters, but the selection of food is limited and very overpriced. We had a sushi plate for 2, which cost €60 and it was definitely not worth it. I've often eaten better sushi and that shouldn't be the case given the price. Therefore, it absolutely did not live up to the hype on social media.

Relatively small portion and not very tasty/seasoned. -A spritz costs €9.50 and the glass is only half full. -You eat with disposable chopsticks, not very sustainable. -The sushi is beautifully prepared and tasty, but the prices are too high -The service seems bored. -The music almost makes you fall asleep. The facility is fantastic, it's a shame that everything else is rather poor.

Cocktails richtig schlecht. Seit wann macht man einen Mule mit Eiswürfel?? Kein Crashed ice im Haus? Essen viel zu teuer. 12€ für 6 Stück Nigiri mit Gurke. Bei der Vorspeise war die Avocado schon schwarz. Kräuterseitlinge TK und obwohl tempura auf der Karte stand, war es irgendeine Panade aber kein Tempura. Dessert mit Dosen Früchten und Schokoladenglace völlig zerstört.

Extremely delicious sushi (basic rice and fish are phenomenal). Service could be a bit accommodating, but that's a high level of criticism.

The food was delicious, I also found the ambience very nice, but everything was overpriced, which might be normal for "Munich standards", but they save money on service because they have no idea how to work properly in service. At the end it was also said that “the bill could not be shared (mind you, there were three of us, so not a group of 10). Well, then she got less tip for it.

Unfortunately the kitchen was already closed at 10:10. We even had a reservation and would have liked to have something to eat after the theater.
