Absolute revelation. Unique soba quality in Germany that really comes close to Japan. The owner's training is noticeable. I've already been able to try out many of the dishes on the menu and have nothing to complain about. Only the price-performance ratio could be a little better, but you'll still be full. Absolute recommendation for the Soba Mori set and the buckwheat tea.

Noodles are pretty good but I personally did not like the Soba pudding.

Trotz meiner Reservierung wurde ich bei meiner Ankunft im Restaurant nicht sofort bedient. Obwohl ich dort stand, gingen die Kellner an mir vorbei und bedienten zuerst die Gäste hinter mir. es sehr schade, wenn der Service nicht mit der Qualität der köstlichen Speisen mithalten kann. This noodle shop had a lot of authentic Japanese small plates, which went well with alcohol and were very enjoyable. There were many options for soba, both cold and hot. However, it is very disappointing that the menu has decreased significantly after the renovation. Also, even though I had made a reservation, when I arrived at the store, I was standing and waiting, and the store clerk didn't notice me and guided the customers who came after me first. It was a strange response. We would like to request that you improve your service. Otherwise very disappointing with service not commensurate with the delicious food.

The food at Soba-An is, and always has been, top notch! The facility too! I've been coming here since the very first day it opened, but I haven't been here for a while. That's why I was really surprised after so long: When we were there for lunch yesterday, I noticed that since Brickny took over here, the atmosphere in the shop has deteriorated a lot. The employees were talking right next to us about their private matters in a rather not so nice tone. Unfortunately, the atmosphere is now more like a ramen restaurant. In Japan it would really be a NO GO in this form.

Everything tasted delicious, but the portions were sometimes quite small. We have already eaten the unagi in better quality. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was very busy.

Original Japanese restaurant specializing in buckwheat noodles. Great quality! Due to the change of tenant last year, the prices went up, but the service also became nicer. Very nice to have the opportunity to get to know a little more about the diverse Japanese cuisine in addition to the many bad (amateur-run) sushi restaurants in Düsseldorf!

Quite small but nice restaurant! During Dokomi times you have to wait outside for 30 minutes to an hour without a reservation. Great and diverse menu! Highly recommended! I can only recommend a half-boiled egg as a topping for soba!

It was very tasty and not overly cramped in terms of space despite it being Japan Day when we were there. The food looked great and was very filling.

We once ordered a menu and regular cold soba. We noticed that you should eat the warm soba quickly because it expands and becomes softer over time. However, this is not the case with cold soba. They stayed crisp. My personal favorite was the eel. It was really good and is a reason for me to come back.

Nach einer Wartezeit von 30 Minuten gelangten wir ins Restaurant. Draußen wollten wir trotz des guten Wetters nicht, es roch nach Gulli. Drinnen war es nett, klein und gemütlich. Wir waren die einzigen Europäer, aber Englisch bringt einen überall weiter, auch in Düsseldorf. Mein Wunsch Suppe mit Tempura wurde abgeschmettert, dauert zu lange, ich sollte kalte Soba mit Huhn nehmen, ich akzeptierte, ich hatte Hunger. Dauerte trotzdem 30 Minuten. Es war lecker, wir gaben uns Mühe mit den Stäbchen. Irgendwie haben wir uns nicht wohlgefühlt und auch nicht willkommen. Den Tipp - Trinkgeld verstand der Kellner nicht, er könne kein Deutsch. Gut, dass wir auch Englisch konnten. Qualität gut. War nett, aber werden wir nicht wiederholen.

I thought it looked pretty authentic so we dropped by for a late lunch. Very nice Tendon with a nice choice of prawns and different vegetables, friendly service. Appreciated that they had loose-leaf Genmaicha.

We had the cold soba noodles with tempura and unagi rice lunch set. Absolutely delicious and would come back again. The noodles are hand made on site. Slow lunch service so do you need to be patient. We had the cold soba at Yabase as well but the noodles here were much better.

The food was good but the service was pretty bad. It took an eternity until our food came and when it came, there were extras that were missing. Plus, two of us had the soba with veggie tempura and the portions were super tiny, especially compared to the other people around the table who had soba with shrimp. I don't know if something went wrong in the kitchen but the veggie soba were basically half the size of the non veggie soba.

It wasn't the time when there were too many people, but it took over an hour to get the food. Japanese and foreign customers who came much later than us, to the point where we thought it was racism, even though they ordered the same menu, they came out faster than us. Is soba a menu that takes this long? ? I don't think I'll ever go again

Traditional and impressively authentic Soba noodle spot right in the heart of "Little Tokyo". Pure Soba spots are rare, and this one definitely conveys Japan vibes, as a lot of local and Japanese people come around, while the dishes taste wonderful.

The taste has been slightly deteriorated since the owner has changed. The taste of noodles themselves got weaker and the soup and the taste of side dishes got stronger, which cannot really satisfy Japanese customers. However, it is all right if you want to experience almost authentic Japanese dishes. The service of staff is good.

Good shop with nice service. We looked out for any intolerance and even asked the kitchen again just to be on the safe side! The soba noodle soup was delicious and comforting, but didn't completely blow me away. Price ok, but you should definitely make a reservation. Kitchen until 9 p.m.

It was our first time there and the food was really delicious! The duck and noodle soup in particular were a 10/10. You actually have to be lucky to get a table without a reservation. We tried to get a table twice before and were always turned away at the door. But we'd love to come back!

The soba noodles are made and cut by hand in the morning/during the day and then served in the evening, and you can taste the freshness. Definitely something different and interesting to try from the classic ramen you usually know. The tempura is also of very good quality and freshness. The accompanying matcha salt is an unusual but exquisite twist. Everything is served authentically Japanese, even the traditional spice shaker. After eating you have a pleasant feeling of fullness because it is not as heavy in the stomach as other ramen. Reservations recommended.

Auf einem Tagestrip nach Düsseldorf, bei dem ich bewusst nach guten japanischen Restaurants Ausschau hielt, stieß ich auf das Soba-An. Nachdem ich zum Tisch geleitet wurde, gab es erstmal einen Tee aufs Haus. Ich vermute Buchweizentee? Jedenfalls habe ich diesen Tee vorher noch nie getrunken aber war wirklich Mal eine gute Abwechslung. Basierend darauf, dass Sobanudeln aus Buchweizen bestehen, was dies sicherlich ein passender Einstieg. Zum Essen bestellte ich Sobanudeln in einer Brühe mit gekochtem Schweinefleisch. Das Schweinefleisch wurde auf einer kleinen Schüssel Reis separat serviert. Das Essen war verdammt lecker. Es sah nach wenig aus aber geschmacklich hat es mich abgeholt. Es waren zur selben Zeit viele Japaner im Restaurant, das war schonmal ein gutes Zeichen und hat sich dann auch bestätigt. Werde bei Gelegenheit wiederkommen.

We had warm soba noodles in broth and as a soup with duck, both very tasty. The pork belly, also very good. We've eaten the gomaae better, but it wasn't bad by any means. The dining room is a bit tight, especially when it's full. The furnishings are very harmonious and create a pleasant atmosphere. The service seemed a bit stressed but not unfriendly and it was a bit difficult to order a second drink or the bill.

Highly recommended, the cold soba noodles for dipping and the tempura are extremely tasty and the staff was friendly too :) I would recommend making a reservation, otherwise there may be waiting times.

Die besten Soba, die ich außerhalb Japans gegessen habe. Dazu noch kein Favorit, Tororo-Soba. Werden trotz weiter Anreise wieder kommen.

We got the special menu with soba noodles (warm) and the eel with rice. It was incredible! The eel was super delicious and the broth of the soba was sooo tasty! Definitely recommend, you get super full! Plus they were very kind to bring jasmine tea as we set down. Make sure to tip the lovely staff <3 We went there on Monday at 1pm and there was no waiting :)

I really like that they make their own soba noodles, and their tempura is consistently excellent. Even with the renovation in 2023 it’s still not that big, so be sure to make a reservation if you’re coming in a group. If you’re from outside Germany (but from an EU country), your SEPA bank card will likely not work. You’ll have to pay in cash, while credit card payments are accepted after a certain amount (I think 50 EUR but might be mistaken).

Went here for dinner spontaneously so we waited for 45 minutes. The place is quite always full so it is better if you get a reservation. I ordered warm/hot soba with tempura. My partner ordered cold soba. The cold soba tastes a lot better. It was actually really delicious. I would recommend it over the hot soba. Tempura also tastes good. We also ordered the fried squid but it was a bit overcooked so it was difficult to chew. I love squid a lot so it should be really cooked at a certain time duration only or else it gets really hard to chew. The best one would be the dessert! The mochi ice cream is excellent! I would come back in the summer and order cold soba and ice cream once again. 😊 Oh also, they don’t allow takeouts so you should just order enough and finish it because you can’t bring them home.

My favorite Japanese restaurant in Düsseldorf. The food is really authentic and has lots of original dishes. Although named after their specialty (Soba), their other foods (tempura, grilled pork on leaf, ..) are also amazing.

We ate the menu (pasta, fish, vegetables) and it was really delicious. The dessert, on the other hand, was a little weaker and not good value for money. The service was friendly, but a bit slow at times.

We tried the soba noodles in broth and tempura, they were excellent. I felt well taken care of. They offered us hot tea because of the cold outside. I would definitely go again.

We had the duck and the tofu, they were both delicious but the broth was on the saltier side for us, but probably personal preferences. The noodles for super fresh and the atmosphere is super nice. The staff were very nice and accommodating to us who don’t speak German.

It is a very lovely place even for one person to have dinner alone. The food is tasty and valuable. People working there are all so friendly. Will visit again, and next time with friends. I didn't like hard noodles. I suddenly want to eat soba today. For the first time, I understood the deliciousness of soba. The scent of soba is incredible✨I still want to go again! By the way, squid legs are awesome!

Super delicious food with very friendly service.

We came across Soba-An a few months ago and tried their vegetarian yasai tempura don, which was delicious! The portion is on the smaller side, but we had a big lunch, so it was alright for us! The rice was cooked nicely, and the vegetables were fried very well, no greasy feeling! Sadly, they are closed for several months now untill end of November with construction work. Hope to come here soon again!

War in Ordnung. Preis-Leistung stimmt leider wie sooft bei japanischen Lokalen in Düsseldorf nicht. Aber das ist größtenteils vermutlich der Inflation + Importkosten geschuldet. Wer Soba liebt kann das gerne probieren, ansonsten finde ich persönlich 16-18€ für ein Soba Gericht etwas zuviel.

Goed eten als je van soba houd. Vanaf €50,00 kun je via Mastercard betalen. Reserveren wordt aangeraden omdat zaak snel vol geboekt is.

This is an authentic Japanese soba noodle restaurant. The tempura is fresh and crispy, the eel rice is awesome too, needless to say about the cold soba. Affordable lunch menu.

夫と2人で食事に行き、2人とも蕎麦を食べました。 夫は温かい蕎麦で、私は冷たい蕎麦にしたのですが、私の蕎麦がものすごく硬くてびっくりしました。コシがあるとかではなく本当に硬かったです…。 茹で時間を間違えてるんじゃないかと思いました。 久しぶりの蕎麦だったのにガッカリでした。 夫のお蕎麦は温かかったので、ちょうどよかったですが、私のはとても美味しいとは思えませんでした。 楽しみにしていてやっと来れたのに残念でした。

Wir waren heute Abend das erste (und auch höchstwahrscheinlich letzte) mal im Restaurant Soba An und freuten uns zunächst dass wir zu 5. noch einen Tisch bekamen. Das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker und wurde heiß serviert. Entsprechend scheint die Küche 1a organisiert zu sein was jedoch auf die Aussenrepräsentanz (= Bedienung, Service am Gast) nicht unbedingt zutrifft. Beide weiblichen Bedienungen waren weder proaktiv und interessierten sich auch nicht dafür wie uns das Essen geschmeckt hat. Um 21:30h kam die Aufforderung zu bezahlen damit man die Kasse schließen kann obwohl wir bei den letzten Bissen der Nachspeise waren. Zu 8€ Trinkgeld bei 106€ Rechnungsbetrag gab es auch kein Danke, meiner Frau wurde die Nachspeise wir bei McDonalds kommentarlos beim Vorbeigehen von der Seite auf den Tisch geschoben. Irgendwie fühlten wir uns deplatziert zumal nachfolgende Tische umgehend bedient wurden und wir uns stets selbst zu erkennen geben mussten. Fazit : unser Essen schmeckt zuhause mindestens genauso gut da meine Frau als Asiatin sehr gut kocht. Entsprechend für uns ein einmaliger Besuch denn bei solch fehlender Empathie vergeht einem wirklich die Lust. Und so würde Lothar Matthäus sagen … „again what learnt !“

This is an exemplary culture of Japanese food, basic, simple, fresh and highest possible quality. The weather is getting hot and we had cold soba for dinner with tempura and duck meat. The buckwheat soba was chewy with the special taste of buckwheat while the shrimp and veggie tempuras were fresh fried with crispy coating served with a pinch of matcha salt. The portion size is more catered to Japanese or Asian and may be too small for Germans or Westerns. If you are new to Japanese buckwheat soba and want to find out why Japanese love it so much, this is the place to come. You can have it cold which you dip it in a cup of soba sauce of soy sauce, chopped spring onion and wasabi (Japanese mustard) and maybe some seaweed. After you finish your cold soba, you will be given a pot of boiled noodle water (that has been used to cook the soba) and as a custom you mix it with the soba sauce left and drink it. You may also have warm soba that comes in a bowl of hot soup.

Abseits der klassischen japanischen Spezialitäten Sushi und Ramen, bekommt man im Soba-An die gleichnamige - in Deutschland weitaus weniger bekannte - Spezialität. Die Nudeln werden frisch von Hand gemacht. Der Service ist japanisch freundlich und effizient. Für Neulinge ist die Darreichungsform möglicherweise erstmal etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, doch geschmacklich insgesamt stimmig. Definitiv eine Empfehlung auch über die Grenzen von Düsseldorf hinaus.

Sehr leckeres Soba und verschiedene japanische Vorspeisen. Für Neueinsteiger in die japanische Küche muss man sich an die Konsistenz gewöhnen, aber es war köstlich und der Service wurde gut erklärt.

I read about this place in a new york times article and it had been on my wish list for quite some time. Somehow, it didn't quite live up to the expectation - or maybe my expectation was just way too high. Nevertheless, it's surely a place worth trying if you're even in Düsseldorf. I had the warm soba noodles in miso soup with tempura. While the soup and the noodles were good, the tempura was a bit soggy but since it was served with matcha, it balanced out. I would like to mention that the portion sizes are not very large and for that the prices seem a bit on the higher side.

Bad taste, bad service, bad attitude. You can never find a Japanese restaurant worse than this in Düsseldorf. The quality of this one cant survive a month in Tokyo. Try it, and I have to remind you this is not the best way to waste your money, you can just burn it.

Liked the experience here very much. Tasted like quality and closest to the flavours I had in Japan. Looks like they make the soba hand crafted. My friend was very sad that there wasn't a veggy or vegan soup based option though. Would definitely recommend the soba tea!

Ausgezeichnete authentische handgemachte Soba. Die kalte Version mit geriebener japanischer Yamswurzel und Natto, das Tempura und die Inari-Sushi sind sehr zu empfehlen. Sincere and honest food, a hidden and underrated gem not just in Dusseldorf but in this part of Europe if one is looking for good, handmade noodles with dishes focused on local ingredients. We travelled across the border to Düsseldorf for Japanese noodles! Do note that the food is subtle in flavour and not overwhelming, to address some reviewers who mentioned here that the food is bland. We were there on a quiet evening. The staff explained the dishes and served us a warm broth that the noodles were cooked in. Again, subtle and one can taste the nutty flavours of buckwheat. Staff was attentive - a simple gesture and a personal touch to their hospitality. Food was reasonably priced, given that many items on the menu were made by hand - which takes time, and skill! Note: as with many establishments across Germany, they do cash payment here.

Food was delicious and service prompt but friendly. Many options available including cold and hot soba dishes. We opted for the Nasu Nikumiso (eggplant with miso meat sauce), Hotate-T (scallop tempura), Niku-Soba (beef) and Kamonanban (duck).

麺はコシがあり、冷たい蕎麦はしっかり冷たく、温かい蕎麦はしっかり熱い。天ぷらはサクサクで衣も軽い。丁寧に調理されていることがわかるしいつもとても美味しい。 日中は緑茶がサービスされるのは心の底からありがたく素晴らしいことだと思う。 接客については、お客さんがいっぱいになるとあからさまに余裕がなくなる様子ではある。ただ、料理や会計を長く待たされたり乱暴な物言いをされることはなく、テキパキとよく動いているなと、ポジティブな印象しかない。

Alles war lecker, frisch und besonders. Jede Speise ist in sich stimmig. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir hatten einen rundum schönen Abend!🥰 Da wir nah an der Küche platziert wurden, haben wir danach nach Frittiertem gerochen - das ist der einzige Punkt, der verbesserungswürdig ist. P.S. Went in for a soba brunch on Saturday. Was a long queue but guess it's normal. Food service was quick and dishes were simple yet okay-ish. It was quite crammed which is understandable. But beware that they will demand cash under 50e or charge you extra to pay with a pin.

今回5回目の利用でした。 今までの4回でも思うことは多々ありましたが、今回は酷かったので書きます。 接客態度本当に最悪です。 風除けのカーテンがドアの中に引いてあったため営業しているか分からず、ドアを開けて「営業されてますか？」と尋ねると「営業してますよ！なんで営業してないと思ったのか分かんないですね！」と... ムッとした表情とその言葉にその場で思わず「なんなんだろう、その言い方」と言ってしまいました。 恐らく聞こえたんでしょう、その後からガラリと態度が変わりました。 子供達が蕎麦好きなので来ていましたが、もう2度と利用しません！(夫の会社もよく利用していますが、少なくとも私は2度と行きません) ちなみに5回共同じ女性店員です。

Wir waren zum Abendessen da. Die Soba Nudeln an sich schmecken ganz okay - sind nicht hausgemacht, was man sieht & schmeckt. Die Brühe meiner Soba-Nudelsuppe war hingegen sehr gut! Die Tempura fand ich am besten. Das Lokal war abends ziemlich voll. Ich empfehle zu reservieren. Die Tische sind ziemlich dicht beieinander weshalb man wenig Privatsphäre hat. Das Personal war freundlich, jedoch zum Ende hin nicht aufmerksam. Der Tisch wurde nur halb abgeräumt. Bei der Bezahlung würde ich mir auch wünschen, dass bei der Berechnung bei getrennter Zahlung unterstützt wird. Die Preise sind ziemlich hoch. Nur für meine Soba Nudelsuppe mit Tempura & eine Cola habe ich inkl. Trinkgeld 25€ gezahlt.

手工荞麦面，店面不大。面很清爽，不硬不软煮得恰到好处，汤是清汤，有一点甜味。天妇罗也是很酥不油腻。单从食材和口味来说非常不错。扣一星是觉得价格偏高了，小杯茶记得是近四欧，午餐清汤面加一点豆腐就要十四，加两块天妇罗好像是十九欧。

二度と行きません。個人的に、ドイツで行った日本食レストランの中で態度が最悪でした。他の方も多く書いていますが、店員の態度が悪く、非常に気分が悪くなります。食事の質は普通です。

Unglaublich unfreundliche Bedienung die uns direkt am Anfang darauf hingewiesen hat, dass wir ganz schnell bestellen müssen weil wir den Tisch „nur“ 1,5 std haben. Wir mussten innerhalb von 5 Minuten alles aussuchen. Wir waren mit Kindern im Restaurant und die Bedienung hat tatsächlich meiner Tochter die Hand auf den Kopf gedrückt als sie etwas lauter in den Becher „getutet“ hat. Das andere Kind wurde einfach angefasst und auf den Stuhl gesetzt. Das war grenzüberschreitend und unmöglich. Sowas habe ich noch nie erlebt. Das war die unhöflichste Kellnerin der Welt. Unglaublich wirklich. Wir haben gehetzt gegessen und es gar nicht genießen können. Wirklich nicht zu empfehlen. Preis Leistung lässt auch zu wünschen übrig. In ganz Japan habe ich nicht einmal so eine Erfahrung gemacht.

久しぶりに日本の蕎麦が食べたくなって来訪も、入口でいきなり英語で『満席です。予約してますか？』してないと答えるともう一度『満席です。』と言って、カーテンをシャッと音をたてて閉められました。 あんなに失礼な対応をされたのは初めてで、びっくりして、思わず笑ってしまいました。 もう二度と行きません。

Favourite restaurant during my trip. Soba cake and soba noodles were both genuinely tasteful. Pumpkin balls were season special. I had cool soba with natto. Cured my homesickness.

日本料理の種類が豊富で、メニューを見ているだけで楽しくなります。 そして居酒屋のように、単品ものの種類が多いので、単品料理好きな自分にとって最高のお店です。 メインの蕎麦は蕎麦の本格的な風味をしっかりと味わうことができ、つゆとの相性は抜群でした。 天ぷら野菜は程よい大きさにカットされ、海老天も衣と身のバランスが良いです。 単品料理はどれも美味しく、日本の家庭的な料理を味わえる所はそこまで多くないので、ここはまたぜひ訪れたいお気に入りのお店の一つです。

The food was very tasty!! Apparently this is a super popular restaurant. We went there for lunch, 5 minutes before opening on Monday. We were the second group and the seats were all taken 10 mins after the opening.

Cold men would be nice. The Donburi better than soba.
