Das SOBA AN ist ein Muss für alle, die authentische japanische Küche lieben. Hier wird mit besten Zutaten und viel Leidenschaft gekocht. Wir hatten geschmorten Schweinebauch mit frisch zubereiteten Sobanudeln, Aal, eine japanische Fischfrikadelle mit Bonitoflocken und Garnelen im Tempura. Alles war hervorragend! Der Schweinebauch war butterzart, die Sobanudeln hatten perfekten Biss und waren geschmacklich ein Highlight. Besonders der Aal und die Fischfrikadelle waren eine tolle Überraschung da ich das so noch nicht gegessen habe und es wirklich lecker war. Die Küche ist ehrlich, simpel und voller Geschmack. Perfekt für heiße Sommertage, aber auch in jeder anderen Jahreszeit einen Besuch wert. Die Atmosphäre ist gemütlich, das Essen frisch und authentisch – ein echter Geheimtipp für Liebhaber japanischer Spezialitäten!

We discovered this small restaurant by chance and it was a pleasant surprise. Although it is small, there is always room for two. The service was fast and the food, with different and delicious flavors, arrived immediately. The only point to improve is the price, which seemed a bit high for the quality. Overall, a highly recommended experience!

I ordered the tempura soba and the okonomiyaki. The soba tasted very good as well as the okonomiyaki. The tempura felt so light and you wouldn't have guessed it was fried so definitely one of the best tempura I ate. Vey recommended! Kitchen closes at 20pm

I came from Frankfurt looking forward to it, but when I arrived, it was undergoing renovations and was closed. I think Google should update its business hours to temporary closure.

Been there twice, always been accommodated last minute. Staff very polite and professional. Loved the concept of the meal and was susprised by the portion. Food had a fresh cooked feeling. Served very quickly. Only less point is the space, a bit too tight and lacks decoration. Another issue is the opening times on google do not reflect the times at the restaurant. They should change that. Despite that the restaurant is worthy to be revisited.

Really extremely tasty and authentic soba - and without the big queues that are often the case in Düsseldorf.

I heard that they pull the noodles themselves, and the texture is firm and good. I was disappointed that the sauce for dipping the soba was not special. The top of the fried shrimp is crispy, but the bottom is soggy due to water seeping in. Butadong tastes familiar, but the meat is a bit tough. It’s not like standing in line to eat!

Gran lugar para tempura! Los frescos como deberían ser y no los listos para freír que muchos lugares usan hoy en día. Uno de mis lugares para ir cuando en Ddorf. El servicio es bueno y la comida es genial. Lamentablemente los asientos están un poco apretados. Para hacer espacio para más clientes, necesita moverse entre su mesa y la de los vecinos, lo que puede ser un poco incómodo. En general sigue siendo un gran lugar!

Delicious noodles! I had cold soba noodles and my husband had warm soba noodles in a soup. Both were wonderful. Tofu salad was also great and fresh.

I really like that they make their own soba noodles, and their tempura is consistently excellent. Even with the renovation in 2023 it’s still not that big, so be sure to make a reservation if you’re coming in a group. It’s now possible to pay with bank cards (SEPA).

Came here on a crowded Friday night, would recommend making a reservation. Luckily they had seating at the window counter. Delicious soba with extensive choices, and very nice staff. I got the soba with tempura on the side. There were many Japanese people dining here, even a group of business men complete with liters of beer for all of them (so you know this is /the/ spot).

Es ist erleichternd über Open Table zu reservieren, da man so Missverständnissen über Anrufe vorbeugt. Im Restaurant selbst hatten sie die Reservierung sofort parat, das Essen kam ziemlich schnell nach der Bestellung, die Bedienung war aufmerksam und das Essen war sehr lecker. Alles in allem war nichts dabei, worüber man sich beschweren könnte. Man muss allerdings wissen, dass original japanisches Essen nicht günstig ist - im ganzen Viertel, daher sollte das hohe Preisniveau eingeplant werden bevor man sich für dieses Restaurant entscheidet.

Best soba in a while! I really felt like I was in Japan. Tempura was fine but that eel was delicious! They also have rice tea, which you can't get anywhere. Be on time, it fills up quickly around lunch time. If you go a little later you will have a spot. Service is nice and fast.

I discovered this fine restaurant by chance. Since I work in a Japanese company, I really wanted to eat Japanese food while I was in Düsseldorf. The reception was very nice and the restaurant is comfortably furnished. What's great is that they offer coordinated menus and have a large selection of Japanese drinks. Unfortunately, I had more time to try the sake. If I ever come to Düsseldorf again, I will go there again.

My visit to Soba An in Düsseldorf was a fantastic experience. The restaurant has an authentic Japanese steer and the staff was very friendly. The highlight of our meal was without a doubt the Unagi Don. The grilled eel was perfectly prepared, wonderfully tender and full of flavor, with a subtle smoky flavor and a perfectly sweet sauce. The combination with the steamed rice completed the dish completely. The portions were generous and the value for money is very good. Definitely recommended!

Delicious menus, I had a cold soba noodle with tempura and a unagi rice bowl. At lunchtime in summer you can sit outside. Tasty but a bit expensive now.

It is always a pleasure to come back here, this is one of our favourite Japanese restaurants in Düsseldorf.

The taste of the food is lower than expected. The buckwheat noodles are a bit too salty, and the soy sauce flavor is too strong, completely covering the taste of the noodles themselves. The advantage is that the shrimp of tempura is very fresh, but it depends on the shrimp itself rather than the processing skills. I hope you will do better and better!

Les plats sont excellents et le service agréable: voilà de quoi apprécier pleinement d’autres facettes de la gastronomie japonaise. Il est préférable de réserver à l’avance surtout en fin de semaine.

Excelente soba y tempura. Cocinado a la perfección con servicio rápido. La textura de Zaru soba era perfecta. Genmaicha servida en una hermosa taza de té. Solo el lado negativo era que se habían agotado los postres de mochi.

I ordered the “Una Don Mori Set” and it was very tasty. :) this was the first time dipping ramen for me and it was an interesting experience. The eel was deliciously prepared. 😋🤤

Das Essen ist qualitativ gut. Ich bin leider nur heute vom Stuhl gefallen als ich die erneute Preiserhöhung sehen musste. Vor 2 Jahren habe ich für das Menu mit tempura, Suppe und Aal mit Reis noch 18.90 bezahlt. Dann gab es die erste Anpassung auf 22,90€. Heute nehmen die dafür 30.80€!!! WTF!! Kleiner Portionen als damals, auch der Begrüßungstee aus Buchweizen wird nicht mehr gereicht. Wirklich schade und für mich nicht mehr nachvollziehbar.

I’ve always wanted to come here but constantly gave up on it because there was always a huge queue outside. The key is to queue up a bit before the restaurant is open lol The staffs are nice and their handmade soba noodles are absolutely delicious! I came in with my parents who came to Europe from Japan but they also enjoyed it. Absolutely recommended! I will deffo come back :)

Absolute revelation. Unique soba quality in Germany that really comes close to Japan. The owner's training is noticeable. I've already been able to try out many of the dishes on the menu and have nothing to complain about. Only the price-performance ratio could be a little better, but you'll still be full. Absolute recommendation for the Soba Mori set and the buckwheat tea.

Noodles are pretty good but I personally did not like the Soba pudding.

The food at Soba-An is, and always has been, top notch! The facility too! I've been coming here since the very first day it opened, but I haven't been here for a while. That's why I was really surprised after so long: When we were there for lunch yesterday, I noticed that since Brickny took over here, the atmosphere in the shop has deteriorated a lot. The employees were talking right next to us about their private matters in a rather not so nice tone. Unfortunately, the atmosphere is now more like a ramen restaurant. In Japan it would really be a NO GO in this form.

This noodle shop had a lot of authentic Japanese small plates, which went well with alcohol and were very enjoyable. There were many options for soba, both cold and hot. Also, even though I had made a reservation, when I arrived at the store, I was standing and waiting, and the store clerk didn't notice me and guided the customers who came after me first. It was a strange response. We would like to request that you improve your service. Otherwise very disappointing with service not commensurate with the delicious food.

Everything tasted delicious, but the portions were sometimes quite small. We have already eaten the unagi in better quality. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was very busy.

Original Japanese restaurant specializing in buckwheat noodles. Great quality! Due to the change of tenant last year, the prices went up, but the service also became nicer. Very nice to have the opportunity to get to know a little more about the diverse Japanese cuisine in addition to the many bad (amateur-run) sushi restaurants in Düsseldorf!

Quite small but nice restaurant! During Dokomi times you have to wait outside for 30 minutes to an hour without a reservation. Great and diverse menu! Highly recommended! I can only recommend a half-boiled egg as a topping for soba!

It was very tasty and not overly cramped in terms of space despite it being Japan Day when we were there. The food looked great and was very filling.

We once ordered a menu and regular cold soba. We noticed that you should eat the warm soba quickly because it expands and becomes softer over time. However, this is not the case with cold soba. They stayed crisp. My personal favorite was the eel. It was really good and is a reason for me to come back.

Wir waren in Düsseldorf für einen kurzen Urlaub. Portionen etwas klein aber sehr lecker. Würden das nächste Mal wieder kommen.

Good food, lots of options and highly recommend trying

The tempura was soggy, the soup/soba tasteless. The staff friendly, but not very experienced. We were very disappointed.

Nach einer Wartezeit von 30 Minuten gelangten wir ins Restaurant. Draußen wollten wir trotz des guten Wetters nicht, es roch nach Gulli. Drinnen war es nett, klein und gemütlich. Wir waren die einzigen Europäer, aber Englisch bringt einen überall weiter, auch in Düsseldorf. Mein Wunsch Suppe mit Tempura wurde abgeschmettert, dauert zu lange, ich sollte kalte Soba mit Huhn nehmen, ich akzeptierte, ich hatte Hunger. Dauerte trotzdem 30 Minuten. Es war lecker, wir gaben uns Mühe mit den Stäbchen. Irgendwie haben wir uns nicht wohlgefühlt und auch nicht willkommen. Den Tipp - Trinkgeld verstand der Kellner nicht, er könne kein Deutsch. Gut, dass wir auch Englisch konnten. Qualität gut. War nett, aber werden wir nicht wiederholen.

I thought it looked pretty authentic so we dropped by for a late lunch. Very nice Tendon with a nice choice of prawns and different vegetables, friendly service. Appreciated that they had loose-leaf Genmaicha.

The food was good but the service was pretty bad. It took an eternity until our food came and when it came, there were extras that were missing. Plus, two of us had the soba with veggie tempura and the portions were super tiny, especially compared to the other people around the table who had soba with shrimp. I don't know if something went wrong in the kitchen but the veggie soba were basically half the size of the non veggie soba.

We had the cold soba noodles with tempura and unagi rice lunch set. Absolutely delicious and would come back again. The noodles are hand made on site. Slow lunch service so do you need to be patient. We had the cold soba at Yabase as well but the noodles here were much better.

It wasn't the time when there were too many people, but it took over an hour to get the food. Japanese and foreign customers who came much later than us, to the point where we thought it was racism, even though they ordered the same menu, they came out faster than us. Is soba a menu that takes this long? ? I don't think I'll ever go again

Traditional and impressively authentic Soba noodle spot right in the heart of "Little Tokyo". Pure Soba spots are rare, and this one definitely conveys Japan vibes, as a lot of local and Japanese people come around, while the dishes taste wonderful.

I made a reservation and had to wait an hour to get my food.

The taste has been slightly deteriorated since the owner has changed. The taste of noodles themselves got weaker and the soup and the taste of side dishes got stronger, which cannot really satisfy Japanese customers. However, it is all right if you want to experience almost authentic Japanese dishes. The service of staff is good.

It was our first time there and the food was really delicious! The duck and noodle soup in particular were a 10/10. You actually have to be lucky to get a table without a reservation. We tried to get a table twice before and were always turned away at the door. But we'd love to come back!

The soba noodles are made and cut by hand in the morning/during the day and then served in the evening, and you can taste the freshness. Definitely something different and interesting to try from the classic ramen you usually know. The tempura is also of very good quality and freshness. The accompanying matcha salt is an unusual but exquisite twist. Everything is served authentically Japanese, even the traditional spice shaker. After eating you have a pleasant feeling of fullness because it is not as heavy in the stomach as other ramen. Reservations recommended.

Auf einem Tagestrip nach Düsseldorf, bei dem ich bewusst nach guten japanischen Restaurants Ausschau hielt, stieß ich auf das Soba-An. Nachdem ich zum Tisch geleitet wurde, gab es erstmal einen Tee aufs Haus. Ich vermute Buchweizentee? Jedenfalls habe ich diesen Tee vorher noch nie getrunken aber war wirklich Mal eine gute Abwechslung. Basierend darauf, dass Sobanudeln aus Buchweizen bestehen, was dies sicherlich ein passender Einstieg. Zum Essen bestellte ich Sobanudeln in einer Brühe mit gekochtem Schweinefleisch. Das Schweinefleisch wurde auf einer kleinen Schüssel Reis separat serviert. Das Essen war verdammt lecker. Es sah nach wenig aus aber geschmacklich hat es mich abgeholt. Es waren zur selben Zeit viele Japaner im Restaurant, das war schonmal ein gutes Zeichen und hat sich dann auch bestätigt. Werde bei Gelegenheit wiederkommen.

We had warm soba noodles in broth and as a soup with duck, both very tasty. The pork belly, also very good. We've eaten the gomaae better, but it wasn't bad by any means. The dining room is a bit tight, especially when it's full. The furnishings are very harmonious and create a pleasant atmosphere. The service seemed a bit stressed but not unfriendly and it was a bit difficult to order a second drink or the bill.

Highly recommended, the cold soba noodles for dipping and the tempura are extremely tasty and the staff was friendly too :) I would recommend making a reservation, otherwise there may be waiting times.

Die besten Soba, die ich außerhalb Japans gegessen habe. Dazu noch kein Favorit, Tororo-Soba. Werden trotz weiter Anreise wieder kommen.

We got the special menu with soba noodles (warm) and the eel with rice. It was incredible! The eel was super delicious and the broth of the soba was sooo tasty! Definitely recommend, you get super full! Plus they were very kind to bring jasmine tea as we set down. Make sure to tip the lovely staff <3 We went there on Monday at 1pm and there was no waiting :)

My favorite Japanese restaurant in Düsseldorf. The food is really authentic and has lots of original dishes. Although named after their specialty (Soba), their other foods (tempura, grilled pork on leaf, ..) are also amazing.

Went here for dinner spontaneously so we waited for 45 minutes. The place is quite always full so it is better if you get a reservation. I ordered warm/hot soba with tempura. My partner ordered cold soba. The cold soba tastes a lot better. It was actually really delicious. I would recommend it over the hot soba. Tempura also tastes good. We also ordered the fried squid but it was a bit overcooked so it was difficult to chew. I love squid a lot so it should be really cooked at a certain time duration only or else it gets really hard to chew. The best one would be the dessert! The mochi ice cream is excellent! I would come back in the summer and order cold soba and ice cream once again. 😊 Oh also, they don’t allow takeouts so you should just order enough and finish it because you can’t bring them home.

We ate the menu (pasta, fish, vegetables) and it was really delicious. The dessert, on the other hand, was a little weaker and not good value for money. The service was friendly, but a bit slow at times.

We tried the soba noodles in broth and tempura, they were excellent. I felt well taken care of. They offered us hot tea because of the cold outside. I would definitely go again.

We had the duck and the tofu, they were both delicious but the broth was on the saltier side for us, but probably personal preferences. The noodles for super fresh and the atmosphere is super nice. The staff were very nice and accommodating to us who don’t speak German.

It is a very lovely place even for one person to have dinner alone. The food is tasty and valuable. People working there are all so friendly. Will visit again, and next time with friends. I didn't like hard noodles. I suddenly want to eat soba today. For the first time, I understood the deliciousness of soba. The scent of soba is incredible✨I still want to go again! By the way, squid legs are awesome!

Super delicious food with very friendly service.

We came across Soba-An a few months ago and tried their vegetarian yasai tempura don, which was delicious! The portion is on the smaller side, but we had a big lunch, so it was alright for us! The rice was cooked nicely, and the vegetables were fried very well, no greasy feeling! Sadly, they are closed for several months now untill end of November with construction work. Hope to come here soon again!
