Discovered by chance during a visit to Freiburg. Great roof terrace, delicious salad, and magnificent panoramic views.

I can only recommend it, everything was great, food, service and a beautiful view.

Ambience: very nice on the roofs of Freiburg. When the weather is nice it will be difficult to find a place here. Just for information… Food was very tasty, but waiting times were too long. It was really busy on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Service lady was nice, but not well prepared and stressed. Technically this wasn't possible when ordering because the battery was empty. But she quickly got a new one. Still very slow… But everything else was great. 👍👏👌🏼 I highly recommend… also very good cocktails…🍹🍸

Unfortunately, the staff is very unfriendly. They prefer to cater to guests who look more well-off. It seems to be based on the nose factor.

They charge you 3€ for tap water which should be free... ridiculous

very beautiful view of freiburg cathedral!!! pina coloda tasted good. only thing was for some reason we weren’t allowed to eat any food that we ordered outside, so we only got drinks, which we had to carry up about 3 flights of stairs to the balcony. but other than that, they had nice music and seating.

Great roof terrace, relaxed music without being too loud, for a short time like on vacation, antipasti and cheese platters absolutely recommended, service super friendly and accommodating, price/performance ratio absolutely okay, we'll be happy to come back

Everything was great but so were the prices

Simply a “must be” atmosphere. Right in the center and yet that feeling of being in another world. Small menu but tasty. In the afternoon we had the cheese plate and precisely chilled Chardonnay. Prices great for this location. The next morning (opens from 11am) we were repeat offenders. And don't forget the staff. Natalie, who has the right sense of humor and top service. Every time I visit my former home.

We had the saffron risotto and the napkin dumplings, the only two vegetarian dishes on the menu. Both were very expensive, but unfortunately not even moderately tasty. The pumpkin in the risotto wasn't cooked all the way through, and the mushroom served with it had a more chewy texture than a firm texture... The dumplings were okay, but too bland and too "standard" for the price. The service was slow, even though there weren't many customers. Furthermore, the staff were very rude to one another. The only bright spot is the view of Freiburg Minster.

Is a great place. But the service isn't what you expect. We go there very often. But after today's event, that was it for us. Too bad.

Been there a few times so far and the last two times there was a super unfriendly brunette waitress there. Only prepared half of our order and then ignored us. On request she was unnerved, and there was really hardly anything going on. A friendly employee then took over and everything was fine. Still, the view is great, delicious wine, cool events.

I rated it 5 stars 7 years ago. Unfortunately the service has deteriorated so much that I only have 3 stars left. Until someone came... Warum lässt der Wirt seine Angestellten mit mit einer Schrott-Technik alleine? ☹️☹️☹️Heute am ersten richtig schön warmen Tag im Jahr 2025 Uhr ist die Terrasse wirklich sehr gut besucht. Die paar wenigen Bedienungen/ Ordermen bzw. Orderwomen s7nd weil nichts mehr funtioniert überfordert; die Träger und Läufer können sowieso nichts machen; und den Konsequenz wartet der Gast auf einer schönen, bumsvollen geselligenTerrasse im angenehmen Frühlingsklima über 45 Minuten um seine Bestellung abz geben zu können ... um dann nach geraumer Zeit nur eins von zwei georderten Getränken für zwei Personen zu empfangen. Der Versuch das zweite Getränk zu bekommen entwickelt sich zum Drama weil keiner dafür zuständig ist oder es irgendwie bringen kann. 35 Minuten nach dem ersten Getränk war dann nach mehrfacher Nachfrage das zweite auf dem Tisch. Möge ein normaler Gast das selber bewerten.

I had prepared myself for a tourist trap and was convinced otherwise. The prices are totally okay in relation to the view and the general level of Freiburg. €5 Aperol offer absolutely brilliant. Service is understaffed but makes an effort.

We were there today around 4:00 p.m. on January 30th. in your restaurant. A young woman with long dark hair served us and it seemed to me that she spoke Russian. Unfortunately, our experience this time was disappointing. The waitress was unfriendly and seemed to have little interest in the guests. She responded to questions in an annoyed manner and gave the impression that she didn't want to serve us. When I asked for five minutes to think about it, she just turned around and left without saying a word. We have never had such an experience in your restaurant before. It would be nice if more emphasis was placed on friendly and professional service.

The food was good. The service remained below expectations, considering the rather high prices.

I went there for dinner on a saturday night. I took the beef tartare as a starters, it was not very good and then the spinach risotto which was good and finally mochis that were ok. The women in charge of our table was not very nice and customer friendly, for example she left us the wine bottle without opening it and serving it. Her colleague was much more customer friendly so maybe we just had bad luck. Fortunately the company was very good so I had a very nice moment.

I'm here right now and the service was bad, the coffee wasn't really full or the wrong choice of cup. I was just told that spoons weren't clean right now and there was no sugar either. Thank you very much but I won't be coming back.

Delicious salads, very kind waiter who made the effort to speak in French. A negative point for the mojito which tasted like lemonade.

We celebrated New Year's Eve at SKAJO. The 5 course menu was super delicious! Every course was fun and beautifully presented. Our food all came at the same time. Service was very attentive, nice and absolutely professional. Unfortunately, you rarely see something like this these days! Wine selection was also very good and the price was completely reasonable. Fireworks could be viewed from the roof terrace. Was an unforgettable experience. Afterwards there was a party with a DJ. However, this could have been better. We'll definitely be back! Thanks for the great party!

Overpriced, overrated, outrageous and definitely never again! We were first shown to a place near the lounge. After about 15 minutes of waiting, a waitress came and told us the place was reserved. She led us to a bar table in the entrance area where we could finally order something. After about 15 minutes another couple came and was able to sit at this place, they had definitely reserved ;-) at the same time we were told that the entrance area was now needed and that we should move around again. We paid for it and left.

SKAJO, in Freiburg, is a restaurant that combines a calm and cozy atmosphere with a top-notch gastronomic experience. The food is excellent, with well-prepared and tasty dishes, and the service is impeccable, with the staff always attentive and helpful. A big highlight is the incredible view that the restaurant provides, perfect for those who want to enjoy a meal in a unique setting. Unfortunately, I have experienced very poor service several times and had to wait a long time to order drinks, only to be told that the drinks I wanted were "no longer there".

Starter salad far too rich. Onion roast was well fried and spaetzle was ok. Zander was nicely presented. Sauce was very good. The waiter wanted to pour the wine on “cool” but the wine ended up on the table and on us. Price performance definitely fits. It's way too loud in the restaurant. A group made noise all evening. Took photos with flash and threw things around. The whole restaurant gave them dirty looks but the employees didn't think they should do anything. Friendly waitress who provided information about ingredients. Unfortunately, we expected more from the evening. However, food was good.

Einzige was es gut war, Brot und Wasser! Überall war Sahne drin in Vorspeise und Hauptspeise! Salat war salzig und Lachs hat nach nichts geschmeckt. Preis übertrieben dafür! Kellnerin sehr unfreundlich.

Nice atmosphere in the restaurant too, attentive service and really tasty food, well-priced, not cheap. Only the dessert Rumpflaumen with vanilla ice cream was disappointing - plums were unripe and rum was almost unnoticeably presented in the glass with too much cream unimaginative. There are also delicious dishes for vegetarian tastes, such as pumpkin risotto

Great atmosphere and really nice employees. We visited for a few cocktails in the evening for the first time. And it is really beautifully decorated. Not too bright but pleasantly cozy. There was also good volume for conversations. Cocktails were all delicious at typical prices. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food, but we'll definitely try it soon. Anyway, it looked promising. We'd love to come back.

Der Service ist ja bekanntlich nicht der Hit, noch dazu für eine 0,2 !!!! Cola 3,60€ zu verlangen finde ich verbraucherschutzrechtlich schon fast bedenklich. Natürlich gab es dann kein Trinkgeld, auch wenn die Servicedame versucht hat, sich selbst zu bereichern. Aber wenn keiner boykottiert dann geht es grad so weiter , Augen auf Leute.

Bad service and already outrageously high prices, so I took it for granted not to tip. The girl then imagined (visibly angry) that she was enriching herself with 11 euros in change. Luckily, my friends and I were very observant and unfortunately had to expose her. As a consumer, I really don't have to put up with all the rip-offs when the price-performance ratio is no longer right.

Fantastic view of Freiburg. We got a seat right away, right with the view. The Aperol Spritz and homemade juice were very good. But even as a sun lover, I have to say that they had cleared the parasols a little too early in the year. Still "a must visit" in Freiburg.

The Pornstar cocktail was 🔥 We always asked ourselves where we could get delicious cocktails in Freiburg, but didn't do a lot of research. But then we decided on “at least a nice view” (in case cocktails don’t taste good). Thank you for surprising us ❤️

Great terrace, friendly service Just great

Wir hatten uns für einen bekannten alkoholischen Longdrink entschieden, der am Ende nur aus Wasser und Eis bestand. Der Barmann war sichtlich betrunken. Das Gleiche gilt für seinen Managerin, der ebenfalls frech und arrogant war. Die Kellnerin brachte uns das Restgeld und behielt das Trinkgeld selbst (hat die Summe selbst "aufgerundet"), ohne unser Einverständnis. Unglaublich. Die Toiletten waren unanständig, schmutzig, verstopft, voller Papier auf den Boden. Nie wieder!

On the weekend we decided on a well-known alcoholic long drink, which in the end only consisted of water and ice. The bartender was visibly drunk. The same goes for his manager who was also rude and arrogant. The waitress kept the tip without our consent. The toilet is indecent, dirty, clogged and full of paper on the floor. Never again!

I've been there a couple of evenings to enjoy the view and the cocktails, and I wasn't disappointed. The place can be crowded and the prices are premium for Freiburg, but I enjoyed both evenings I spent there. The service was welcoming and fast enough considering how busy the rooftop was. I think it's a perfect place to take a girl on a date! Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to try the restaurant, maybe next time. I still totally recommend the rooftop bar!

There is no view like this anywhere in the city center. Only the prices and the staff leave something to be desired.

You pay for the view (and the good cocktails)

We were looking forward to a relaxing evening as the ambience and the much-vaunted roof terrace sounded promising. Unfortunately, our expectations were essentially disappointed. When we entered the almost empty restaurant, we immediately noticed the passive unfriendliness of the staff. The greeting was distant and throughout our time there we were addressed inappropriately as "Madame" or "Seniorita" several times, which felt more like a condescending gesture. When we placed our order, the staff repeatedly made unpleasant comments, especially when it came to simple extra requests. For example, the request to receive regular fries instead of sweet potato fries was met with visible annoyance. This lack of service orientation continued throughout the evening. Despite the fact that the restaurant was almost empty, we didn't feel well looked after and felt like no one really wanted to make time for us. The food itself was rather mediocre. Unfortunately, the steak we ordered was far too raw and tough. The quality was disproportionate to the price we paid for it. Another aspect we would like to mention is that the toilets are located in the restaurant. Since the roof terrace was busy, many guests came from there to the restaurant to use the toilets. This sometimes led to considerable noise, as some of these guests were apparently heavily intoxicated and were partying loudly in a lively mood. This added to the unpleasant atmosphere in the restaurant when you actually wanted to have a pleasant evening. All in all our visit was a disappointing experience. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend the restaurant due to the poor service and mediocre food. When we are in Freiburg, we will visit a different restaurant next time.

We were very lucky and got a nice spot with a view. We were served very nicely. Great team this evening! The food and drinks came quickly and were very tasty. We would like to come back, but unfortunately we were just passing through.

On our visit to this beautiful city we stopped to have a drink mid-afternoon on a terrace located on the roof of the Skajo restaurant. From there you can enjoy a spectacular view of Freiburg. It offers 360° panoramic views in a relaxed and very pleasant atmosphere. Apart from other drinks, we ordered a very typical drink from the area called Hugo and contains sparkling wine, mango juice, elderflower syrup, lime and mint. It is very refreshing and digestive. On very hot days there are sprinklers through which a cool mist comes out, which is appreciated. Please note that the terrace is only open when the weather is good.

Wonderful view, from the roof terrace over Freiburg the view of the cathedral is particularly impressive. The food is good, the kitchen is highly recommended. There is a wide selection of drinks (especially cocktails) & dishes. Please note that the selection on the roof terrace is limited. There was no special offer for vegans. Hot food is only available at certain times. The service was very friendly & helpful. The price was expensive but it was worth it for the view. Cards & cash payment is possible. It is disabled friendly. The music choice was also good.

Good place to have a drink and enjoy the views.

Cesar salad is usually crisp lettuce with pieces of chicken and coarse parmesan, here you get a pile of meat with little salad hidden and not enough parmesan. Service is moderately friendly, one or two seem listless. Which is why I rarely go to Skajo, unfortunately, but the loud constant blaring from the speakers is almost unbearable. It's a shame about the beautiful place, where it's unfortunately intended to be hip, but not quite able to do so.

Yesterday I was in Skajo for the first time. Cool location roof terrace with a wonderful view of the cathedral and the city. Very friendly staff, normal prices. Further visits are welcome, including a test of the food on offer.

Located on the 5th floor of a building in the center of Freiburg im Breisgau, the terrace allows you to discover the city from another point of view and especially the cathedral. The staff is very pleasant, the cuisine is very simple but tasty. Truly a place of choice for those who want to have a pleasant time with an aperitif or lunch. I recommend. Be careful to book in case of high attendance, places are limited on the terrace. Opening hours 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday.

It's a really nice bar, but a 10% tip was added to our bill without asking (since we didn't know that, there was an additional tip). In retrospect, the price seemed very expensive to us and we looked at the menu and noticed that exactly 10% of the actual price had been added. Something like that doesn't work at all.

There is nothing more to add about the location. The prices are of course due to the great ambience with the view and are ok for that. Despite the numerous guests, the employees are still busy. But what doesn't work: On Saturday we were billed for the second time for a drink that we hadn't consumed. (or another more expensive drink will be charged) Experience makes you wiser and in the future I will have the invoice items clearly shown to me at Skajo before paying, even if you sometimes have to move quickly. I can also recommend this to all other guests. For this reason only 2* for the service.

It's actually a good bar that's worth a visit, but the service really ruins the experience. It's simply cheeky how you are treated here, of course you can ask for ID to ensure child protection, but the way you deal with it here is simply cheeky and unprofessional and doesn't fit in with the actually nice atmosphere. Restaurant with a great view of Freiburg Cathedral, nice reception despite no reservation. Small menu, goat cheese and soup with shrimps and scallops quite ok, sea bass and rib eye steak quite good, decently sized portions, good coffee, good restaurant, a bit overpriced (probably due to the view)
