Sissi - Restaurant & Belle Etage in Berlin

Came here with friends and enjoyed the goulash, wienerschnitzel, fritattensuppe, wanted the kaiserschmarnn but was too full!

Nice home style food and good service. But quite pricy in Berlin terms, considering we only drank water.

We found Sissi while searching for a good place for dessert and it was a spot on!! I’ve never tasted better apple strudel than there - perfectly baked, served with delicious ice-cream - highly recommend! The service was quick and professional.

Schnitzel was nice but overpriced. Potato salad and cranberries cost extra. Kaiserschmarren is not to recommend.

Consistent quality for years! It was an oasis in the hustle and bustle of the Motzstrassenfest!

Unfortunately, the manager ultimately spoiled our stay. The food was good, albeit quite expensive. The staff was also friendly and accommodating. After paying, when I went back into the restaurant toward the restroom and walked past the manager (who had been sitting less than four meters from our table for an hour), he said, with his cell phone to his ear, "Hello," and then, getting louder, "Hello!" twice in a row. After that, he angrily followed me (according to my friends at the table) and shouted, "Can't you hear me? What do you want here?" I replied, alarmed, that I wanted to use the restroom and was sitting at that table (pointing). To which he simply said, "Okay," and left me alone. Besides the fact that he could have politely asked me on my way in: "Excuse me, which table are you from?", an apology to me would have been more than appropriate after realizing his mistake. Customer service doesn't seem to be of any interest to the manager.

A lovely little restaurant. They serve authentic Austrian dishes. The portions are generous and delicious, and the prices aren't exactly cheap. The staff is very friendly. In my opinion, it's worth eating there.

Perhaps the seating might be a bit off-putting, but no matter what the impression... you have to try it. I arrived with no expectations and was more than thrilled to be released back into nature. My wishes were literally read from my forehead, and I received EXCELLENT care all around. Even when it started to rain, they didn't just send me out, but hospitably found me seats, even if I'd finished eating. Thank you so much for everything and for letting me enjoy it!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Excellent cuisine. We had goulash and schnitzel, and Kaiserschmarrn and apricot dumplings for dessert. It couldn't be much better. We'd gladly come back.

The restaurant was extremely inclusive and the food was delicious. The limited menu hides expertise in selected dishes. Choose with confidence, because everything is delicious. The seats are close together in the outdoor dining area. If you are claustrophobic, you should inform the staff. Otherwise, prepare to get to know your neighbors. Maybe you will make a new friend?

The schnitzel and goulash were good, but we found the portions smaller and significantly more expensive than at other Austrian restaurants. The value for money isn't exactly right for us, but it's a nice place.

Actually 5 stars, good food, super friendly, fast service. BUT: They've introduced a 2% on-site fee for non-EU cards (credit and debit), which must be accepted at the payment terminal. According to online research, this is a decision made by the merchant (in this case: the restaurant) and not the bank/acquirer. Unfortunately, it's unacceptable. Keep in mind: The payment terminal directly demands a tip, which you're happy to give given such good service. Then there's the 2% surcharge (also on the tip). And if you use a credit card, an additional percentage point is added to the credit card statement. Recommendation: Review such merchants online accordingly. ADDENDUM after 10 visits to Berlin restaurants: so far, this is the only one with this bad habit.

It's actually a pretty nice place, but the price and quality don't quite match up here. While 25-30 euros is typical for a veal schnitzel, you also pay extra for the side dishes.

Here you'll find the best cheese spaetzle I've ever eaten! Made with love and flavorful mountain cheese. My compliments!

We spontaneously discovered this nice Austrian restaurant. The Wiener Schnitzel was cooked to perfection and we enjoyed it immensely. The only thing I would have preferred was a 1/8 liter of wine, but I was given a 1/4 liter without asking, and unfortunately, I realized too late what was on the table. Otherwise, it was a perfect meal and a wonderful evening.

Great service, very friendly and helpful. Food not what we expected, we had dinner the spinash dumplings were very dalty in some bites, but the sauce was delicious. The eggplant was good, but misses a side dish for the high price.

I came here on a random occasion and I was positively surprised by the delicious food, great service, and a cozy vibe. The Kaiserschmarrn was amazing—will definitely be back! Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert !!

Promise not quite kept: The food was very OK (but it should be, given the prices), the service OK, but the extremely cramped seating in the back room on uncomfortable chairs in an overheated room at tables that were too small didn't lend itself to any kind of coziness—at least for me. Perhaps a way to avoid extending the maximum stay of 1.5 hours for two people...

We reserved Sissi based on the reviews. The food was tasty. Point. In our opinion, it wasn't so unusual that it would justify these prices. Ambiance didn't pick us up. This was probably due to the fact that we were assigned reserved seats as the only guests in the room, so we were supposed to sit right in the middle of the entrance. So we preferred to go outside. We would rather look for something new than make another reservation.

5/5 stars A real insider tip! The Sissi in Schöneberg is an absolute highlight of Austrian cuisine. The atmosphere is cozy and traditional, the service staff is friendly and attentive. The menu offers a variety of classic Austrian dishes, from Wiener Schnitzel to goulash and Kaiserschmarrn. Each dish is carefully prepared and presented, and the portions are generous. Our highlight was the Wiener Schnitzel, which was perfectly fried and crispy. The apple strudel was a perfect ending, creamy and sweet. We can only recommend Sissi and look forward to coming back soon!

Sorry, here comes a slightly more muted review: We found the wine delicious and the food okay. The portions were large, but given the high prices (you had to buy side dishes), we would have expected at least organic meat. Two of the three service guys were neither attentive (they mixed things up) nor particularly friendly (maybe that was insecurity, maybe it was their first day in service?) We find the new bad habit of having to choose between fixed percentages when paying (or "No tip", which hardly anyone has the heart to do) unpleasant and oppressive.

A real piece of Austria in the middle of Berlin! At Sissi we enjoyed a wonderfully tender Viennese schnitzel and a delicious liver dumpling soup - authentic, perfectly seasoned and prepared with a lot of love. The service was also outstanding: warm, attentive and pleasantly unobtrusive. If you want to experience traditional Austrian cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere, this is the right place for you. An all-round successful evening – we will definitely be back!

A wonderful evening at Sissi Berlin! The Wiener Schnitzel was perfect - crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, just as it should be. The food here is delicious and consistent. I have eaten here many times and every time I eat, the quality remains the same. The service here is also good and friendly. The waiters here are very friendly, ready to recommend where to visit near Berlin! Probably one of the tastiest schnitzels I've ever eaten! Ein wunderschöner Abend bei Sissi Berlin! Das Wiener Schnitzel war perfekt – außen knusprig, innen zart, genau wie es sein soll. Und als krönender Abschluss: ein herrlich fluffiger Kaiserschmarrn, der einfach auf der Zunge zerging. Die Atmosphäre ist gemütlich und elegant zugleich, der Service herzlich und aufmerksam. Wer echte österreichische Küche in Berlin erleben möchte, ist hier genau richtig!

We waren op zoek naar een lekker schnitzel restaurant. Deze kreeg goede recensies en we zijn daar op af gegaan. De wienershnitsel op zich was wel lekker . Maar aan de droge kant met een stukje citroen erbij . Groenten waren niet te bespeuren en frietjes moest je bij de al prijzige. Schnitzel bijbetalen alsook de mayonaise. Eigenlijk voelden we ons een beetje in de zak gezet. En was het duur voor wat je op het bord kreeg. In de buurt zijn er betere zaken voor de helft van de prijs . Maar dat wisten we dan nog niet.

By chance we found this restaurant on maps and what can we say… Absolutely outstanding. There's no better way to put it. Very cozy atmosphere and first class service. The food was even better than we imagined. Starter, main course and dessert were fresh, homemade and extremely tasty. The portions are also just the right size. A very clear recommendation for us. Simply reserve a table and treat yourself to culinary delights :)

Sissi is unfortunately not as good as it used to be, particularly in terms of value. The concept of every side order to a schnitzel being an extra cost is simply money grabbing and annoying, especially when the schnitzel alone is €27.50. I mean €6.50 for a small plate of very standard (probably frozen) fries is ridiculous and you now also pay €1.95 per small bowl of cranberry sauce. Sadly there are also better schnitzel around now too. Tables are very close together in the upstairs room and it was unbearably hot, but our waiter was friendly and charming. However the new prices make this place quite poor value for money, which is a shame as it used to be a favourite.

An all around great experience! We had the delicious cheese spaetzle and a great Kaiserschmarrn and were looked after excellently, we haven't experienced such great service in a long time, big compliment - we felt very welcome, thank you very much!

Food was great. The Pork schnitzel was delicious, we also had the goat cheese salad and the spicy sausage. And of course dessert.

I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for a great Schnitzel. It took us over an hour to be served and the veal was hard to chew. Moreover the place was very noisy and the dining space quite small. All in all I wouldn't say the price is aligned with the experience

Very small but cosy restaurant. We didn't have a reservation but the staff went out of their way to find us a table. The menu is small but the food is simply wonderfull, vegetarians are also catered for. The staff's super friendly and eager to help, my German's rather bad and without a pause I was helped in perfect English. This place is a small part of Austria in al its glory.

Yes. However (we were a group of 7-8 guests): Our table on the 1st floor could only be reached via a flight of stairs in the stairwell (a bit problematic for me as someone with walking difficulties). I've always gotten the "Wiener Schnitzel" much larger elsewhere. All other elements of the menu were generously present and everything tasted delicious!

Food and service great, ambience one star less, the ascent and descent in the stairwell ;/, tables are very close to each other, it was also very loud from other guests. But all in all I was surprised and yet very satisfied with the restaurant. Gladly again 🍽🥂😁

The schnitzel tasted very good, but in my opinion it was too expensive with a side dish and cranberries at €38. The fries could have stayed in the deep fryer a little longer. Unfortunately we had a not so good table where no one sat 10cm directly next to me. There are few seats and the restaurant is rather small, probably because of this. The service was friendly and the food was served quickly.

Cosy restaurant with typical Austrian food, the atmosphere is friendly. The food however was not sophisticated, in my opinion. I do not have so many schnitzel reference in Berlin but I had better schnitzels in Germany or Austria. The meat was tasty, yet a little overcooked and partially hard, needed a little salt too. The warm potato and cucumber salad was on the contrary very tasty and well balanced. Kaiserschmarrn was ok, a huge portion but tastes a lot like egg, like I had an omelette. Overall it was also a little pricey, ordering schnitzel and the potato salad and the berry jam separately adds up to a little higher than a regular schnitzel price.

I recently celebrated a very nice birthday here and I have to say it was really great! The price-performance ratio is consistent and the prices are fair. But be careful with the great rosé Prosecco. As tasty as it is, it can quickly cost money, as I discovered 😉

How enchanting is this restaurant! How lucky we were that we were able to get space for 2 people without a reservation. Right outside the window. And what a great evening we had! Both culinary and human. We express our heartfelt thanks! And if you can and it's still on the menu: try the plum compote, it's a poem!

Food was expensive for what we got. Service was good. The interior was not special.

Zugang durch Lokal im Erdgeschoss, dann über Treppenhaus in den ersten Stock, Kleiner Raum, vollgepfropft, mit Tischen und Gästen, unerträglich laut. Freundliche Bedienung, wir hatten zweimal Elsässer Flammkuchen, für den kleinen Hunger, mit kleinem Salat. Und zweimal Wiener Schnitzel vom Schwein mit Erdäpfelsalat. Das Schnitzel hat mit einem richtigen Wiener Schnitzel leider nichts gemein. Zwei dicke Stücke Schweinefleisch in liebloser Panade, wahrscheinlich aus der Fritteuse. Bekomme ich selbst beim Italiener um die Ecke besser und zum halben Preis. Schnitzel 23,50 € zzgl. 6€ für den kleinen Erdäpfelsalat. Große Enttäuschung und völlig überteuert. Getränke ok. Werden wir nicht noch einmal versuchen.

The core of the strudel was still ice cold and the dough was too thick - very narrow, small tables about 15 cm to the neighboring table - Card payment with tip scam: 10, 15 or 20% would you like? - somewhat intrusive and amateurish wall painting. Very good Austrian restaurant, small but nice with very good food, great wines and great service. The venison ragout and the cheese spaetzle were a dream, perfectly seasoned and well seasoned. The Kaiserschmarrn was also super tasty and a decent-sized portion to share.

En meget tydelig gay-restaurant i et tydeligt gay-område, men meget flinke og høflige folk. Vi skulle sidde ovenpå, og her skulle man nærmest gennem to køkkener og over i en anden bygning? Heroppe var røde vægge og et maleri af en grøn mark og to nøgne mænd der havde sex mens en misfornøjet malkepige så på. Vi fik en wienerschnitzel, der var ret stor, men også kostede over tohundrede kroner, og så skulle alt tilbehør tilkøbes. På regningen var påført 10% drikkepenge. De kunne ikke fjernes, men man kunne også vælge 20%, 30% eller mere!

Then it fits with the overall impression Just keep it up... Food varies a lot, some good, but not prepared in-house (Convincies). Service varies. A waiter attentive and friendly. A rather disinterested one. It feels like a neighborhood thing, you think you're cool and important.

Lovely restaurant on the edge of the gay area of berlin. I actually found it with a google search for “Schnitzel near me”. It was just around the corner. I arrived fairly early at 6 so was able to get a seat in the window. Service was friendly and effecient. The veal schnitzel was very tasty and a huge serve. Went perfectly with the cucumber potato salad. From how quickly people were arriving I would definitely recommend booking. Worth the trip.

Visité Sisi para nuestra última comida de Navidad de nuestro descanso. Anteriormente hemos tenido una gran experiencia y hemos sido bien atendidos por el personal de espera. Sin embargo, al llegar recibimos una recepción helada del propietario que parecía pensar que éramos un “no show” en nuestra última visita en un tono muy desagradable. Nos pareció muy desalentadora la fría bienvenida, especialmente porque nunca no hemos aparecido cuando hemos hecho una reserva. La comida es buena y el personal de espera es brillante, pero sienten que el propietario es demasiado antipático para que volvamos.

Authentic Austrian cuisine! I really enjoy coming here and eating the Käsespätzle, the schnitzel and, for dessert, the Kaiserschmarrn or the apple strudel.

Leider ein unangenehmes Erlebnis im Restaurant Sissi. Ein permanenter Toilettengeruch war das eine. Zum anderen war ein Mirabellenschnaps für 5,50 auf der Karte aufgeführt. Ich hatte drei für unseren Tisch bestellt. Auf der Rechnung stand dann 11,40 pro Mirabellenschnaps, also 34,20. Es gab wohl noch eine teurere Variante, von der ich nichts wusste. Die Speisekarten muss man sich am Anfang aufs Handy laden, so dass man beim Bezahlen keine Speisekarte direkt in Händen hält. Bauernfängerei. Sehr unschön u unfair. Wir waren zum roten u letzten Mal in diesem Restaurant. Andrea

You wouldn't know it from its quaint storefront, but Sissi ia an amazing restaurant. The employees are helpful and friendly, and the food is straight out of Vienna! Outstanding!!
