Wir fühlten uns wie in einem Besuch in Österreich. Wir haben sehr lecker gegessen. Das Wiener Schnitzel war wie man es sich vorstellt super knusprig die Panade souffliert. Besser geht nicht.

Ein absoluter Traum! Das Schnitzel war perfekt knusprig und der Kaiserschmarrn herrlich fluffig. Die dazu servierte Marmelade war tatsächlich besonders lecker und geschmackvoll, einfach ein Gedicht! Die Bedienung war zudem super freundlich. Wir kommen definitiv sehr bald wieder vorbei!

Von außen wirkt das Restaurant eher unscheinbar – umso größer war die Überraschung. Ich habe das Wiener Schnitzel gegessen und kann ehrlich sagen: Es war eines der besten Schnitzel, die ich je gegessen habe. Perfekt zubereitet, dazu ein unglaublich leckerer Kartoffelsalat, der genau auf den Punkt war. Auch der Service war ausgesprochen freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich und der Geräuschpegel angenehm, sodass man sich in Ruhe unterhalten kann. Für mich stimmt hier einfach alles: hervorragendes Essen, toller Service und eine entspannte Atmosphäre. Ich komme definitiv wieder und kann das Restaurant uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen!

Wir waren auf der Suche nach dem besten Schnitzelrestaurant der Stadt und Google hatte mit seiner Empfehlung wohl recht 🤤 Das Restaurant selbst ist sehr nett, der Service freundlich und zuvorkommend, und wir mussten kleine Schnitzel bestellen, weil wir wussten, dass wir keine große Portion schaffen würden 😁 Auch das Brot, das uns serviert wurde, war superlecker.

Der Kaisserschmarn ist der schlechte, den ich je am Teller hatte. Scheint Tiefkühlkost und Mikrowelle, keinerlei Bräune aus der Pfanne.

Insgesamt viel zu laut, die Tische stehen zu eng. Das Essen in einem für mich persönlich schlechten Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Der Wein mit 12-15 Euro pro Glas mir zu teuer .

Das Ottenthal stand schon länger auf unserer Wunschliste und unser erster Besuch hat das nun vollständig bestätigt: Neben dem freundlichen Service-Team war auch das Essen durchgängig phantastisch. Besonders der gebackene Ziegenkäse als Vorspeise hat uns in seinen Aroma- und Konsistenz-Kombinationen positiv überrascht. Das Ambiente im Restaurant ist sehr angenehm. Gemütlich, ohne zu legere zu wirken, edel, ohne zu überkandidelt zu sein. Auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung!

Mein erster Besuch in einem österreichischen Restaurant war ein voller Erfolg! Die Ziegenkäse-Vorspeise mit dem Gurkensorbet und der Roten Bete war sehr schmackhaft – eine hervorragende Kombination. Das Schnitzel war dünn, dampfend heiß und knusprig und lag nicht schwer im Magen. Ich habe die kleinere Portion gewählt. Die Empfehlung kam von einem Einheimischen, und ich kann sie nur wärmstens weitergeben.

Das Essen war besonders lecker! Das Personal im Restaurant war auch sehr freundlich.

Ein sehr schönes Restaurant mit unglaublich freundlichem Personal und wirklich hervorragendem Essen. Ich bin gleich wiedergekommen, weil es mir beim ersten Mal so gut gefallen hat. Wiener Schnitzel schmeckt super lecker !!

Ein wunderbares Restaurant mit typisch deutschem Flair. Die Schnitzel waren einfach köstlich – saftig mit einer herrlich knusprigen Kruste. Der Service war exzellent: aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Und der Strudel war schlichtweg hervorragend, einer der besten, die ich je gegessen habe. Wir kommen ganz bestimmt wieder!

Vielleicht das beste Wiener Schnitzel, das ich bisher in Berlin gegessen habe... Nach einigen anderen Schnitzeln finde ich dieses immer noch am besten. Für mich ist es immer noch das beste in Berlin.

Wenn ich in Berlin etwas unbedingt wieder essen müsste, dann wäre es das Schnitzel im Ottenthal. Ehrlich gesagt, es war unglaublich. Wir hatten eins, und es war so gut, dass wir sofort noch eins bestellt haben. Die Bedienung war außerdem unglaublich freundlich und zuvorkommend. Unbedingt vorher reservieren, da es dort oft sehr voll wird.

Top Restaurant zum Schnitzel essen! Der Service war erstklassig und sehr aufmerksam. Wir haben uns das Schnitzel so gar nur geteilt und es war (mit Vorspeise und Nachtisch) dann ausreichend! Das Schnitzel ist wirklich super & der Kaiserschmarren ebenfalls :)

Wohl an, das Schnitzel hätt’ ein gar wenig dicker geraten mögen. Doch alldieweil ich mir acht Platten süßen Kaiserschmarrns einverleibte, ward auch mein Magen schließlich wohl gefüllet und zufrieden gestellt.

Wir hatten gestern Abend ein fantastisches Abendessen dort. Das Cordon-Blu-Schnitzel war mit dem Gurken-Kartoffel-Salat einfach perfekt. Wir haben schon viele Schnitzel probiert, und dieses gehört mit Abstand zu den besten. Wir haben auch den traditionellen Kaisersmann probiert – ein Traum! Der Service war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Sasha war so liebenswürdig und einladend, wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Wunderbares Schnitzel, eines der besten, die ich in Berlin gegessen habe.

Ich hatte das Wiener Schnitzel und es war perfekt! Davor gab es 2 verschiedene Brotsorten. Leider war eine davon sehr scharf/pfeffrig gewürzt. Den Nachgeschmack des Brotes hatte ich beim verlassen des Restaurants immer noch im Mund und dieser hat somit auch den Geschmack des schnitzel etwas geschmälert. Beim nächsten Mal lasse ich das Brot einfach weg und genieße dieses perfekte Schnitzel einfach ohne Vorspeise.

Der Gastgeber war einfach wunderbar, sehr zuvorkommend und gastfreundlich. Ihm und dem köstlichen Essen zuliebe vergebe ich 5 Sterne und habe entsprechend Trinkgeld gegeben. Die 4 Sterne für den Service gehen auf den Kellner zurück, der die englische Speisekarte nicht gut kannte. Auf einem der Gerichte stand „Wurst“, und er stritt mit mir darüber, dass ich es falsch nennen sollte, obwohl es genau so in der Speisekarte stand. Ich fühlte mich, als ob ich mich nicht auf Englisch hätte unterhalten sollen. Er hat nicht einmal versucht, mir das Gericht, an dem ich interessiert war, schmackhaft zu machen. Ein kleiner Wermutstropfen an meinem ansonsten köstlichen Essen und Erlebnis.

Das Abendessen war hervorragend. Das Wiener Schnitzel war leicht und knusprig, die Kruste zart und buttrig, serviert mit weißem Spargel und Kartoffeln. Wir hatten einen jüngeren Gast dabei, und das Personal war herzlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend und bot ihm unkompliziert Buntstifte an. Die Desserts waren dezent und perfekt abgestimmt. Wir aßen hier, während wir ganz in der Nähe des exzellenten Hampton Berlin City West wohnten. Das Ottenthal, bekannt für seine ruhige und souveräne Art in Sachen Speisen und Wein, hat sich seinen guten Ruf redlich verdient.

Toller Service, Essen phantastisch, Personal sehr freundlich und kompetent. Jeder Zeit wieder. Ein Dankeschön an das Team!

Schönes Erlebnis und gutes Essen.

Zünftige österreichische Küche ohne Allüren. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich, wir wurden auch nach 15 Uhr nicht herausgebeten, konnten bis in ihre Pause hinein entspannt zu Ende essen. Vielen Dank dafür. Ein vorhandenes Lunch Angebot zwischen 12 und 15 Uhr spart die Kosten ein wenig.

Traditional Austrian cuisine made with absolute respect for technique and ingredients. Classic, comforting, and well-executed dishes, without unnecessary reinterpretations. The wine list is a spectacle in itself — carefully selected, in-depth, and with a great focus on Austrian labels. A welcoming atmosphere, almost like a Weinhandlung itself, and reliable service. A serious address for those who value tradition, product, and well-chosen wine.

I invited nearly 30 people for a social evening. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, for example: "You gave us a wonderful evening!" Of course, it was the Ottenthal team who made this possible. The food, ambiance, wines (including a wine tasting beforehand), and service were exactly as my guests and I had hoped! We'll be back. In short: Highly recommended.

As always, a wonderful outing to my favorite restaurant. Having been here at least 20 times in recent years, I wanted to leave a review. We reserved a table for six for Christmas, and everything went smoothly, as usual. Great service, helpful menu advice, and a festive atmosphere. This time, due to celiac disease, we also ordered gluten-free options. This was no problem at all; the team is very knowledgeable and flexible. In the end, we ordered the gluten-free schnitzel, which was world-class. We also had the salad, the large schnitzels, the Arctic char, the legendary Kaiserschmarren (shredded pancake), and apricot crepes. We finished it off with espresso. The service was perfectly paced, the food was, as always, of the highest quality, and it made for a wonderful evening. Many thanks to the team, and see you soon!

Small restaurant serving Austrian cuisine. Reserving a table in advance is highly recommended. The prices are on the higher side, but you get excellent service and truly delicious food. The decor is relatively modern. Those looking for a rustic, mountain-like atmosphere will be disappointed. We, however, like it this way. Our only criticism is that, due to the small size of the dining room, you sometimes sit quite close to the next table. This certainly won't appeal to everyone. Hence the one-point deduction for ambiance. We've been here several times and will definitely return.

The schnitzels are first-class, the Kaiserschmarrn and the Palatschinken are addictive; the service is very friendly and attentive, making you feel warmly welcomed at all times. This is how every restaurant should be. And other people appreciate this too, because the restaurant is always popular, so a reservation is a must! It's quite nice here, but I expect it will be a one-time visit. It won't become my new go-to Austrian restaurant. The overall experience didn't completely blow me away, though I can't quite put my finger on what bothered me. The cordon bleu was tasty, but it was only juicy because of the cheese.

This restaurant not only has the best cordon bleu in town, but also some of the friendliest and most attentive staff. For me, 10/10.

Disappointing! We've dined at this restaurant before, but it will probably be our last. Like many other reviews here have mentioned, we unfortunately had a negative experience with a blonde waitress, and the Wiener Schnitzel was a bland, tasteless "cream puff" served without cranberries (a classic accompaniment to Wiener Schnitzel!!!). When we inquired about it, we received an arrogant reply: "Did you order cranberries? Cranberries are only served upon request!"... What a shame, we're not used to that, and thank you for not asking when we ordered in this case ☹️. Very strange business practices...

Absolutely recommened Ottenthal after a recent dinner here! The staff were so friendly, the service was efficient and the schnitzel was delicious. The atmosphere is great and feels very cosy. Excellent wine selection too!

We wanted to eat there but unfortunately hadn't made a reservation and were turned away, which was fine. However, we then saw that reservations were still available online for an hour later, and when we arrived, the restaurant was empty. What a shame!

Had been very keen to try a good snitzel since I moved to Germany. This place provided us with an amazing experience for a date night. We had the soups, snitzel and strudel which all were incredible and not over filling at all. The staff were so friendly and provided a warm and welcoming environment on what was a very cold night outside. Would recommend anyone living in the area or visiting Berlin to have dinner here.

We recently visited Restaurant Ottenthal as a group of six and unfortunately, we don't have much positive to report. While the food was really good, our visit was marred by unfriendly and inattentive staff. Several orders were forgotten, which made the evening very frustrating. Despite the good food, we cannot recommend this restaurant due to the poor service. It's a shame that such a good meal is so significantly affected by the staff. The young blonde woman serving was particularly problematic.

You'll hardly find a better Wiener Schnitzel anywhere else ;) The salad dressing was a bit too sweet and the bread was a little dry, but otherwise no complaints :) The Kaiserschmarrn was also really delicious ❤️ We'll be back!

We went there spontaneously and got the last table by the entrance. It was great. The desserts were delicious and the service was extremely friendly and funny. We'd love to come back, and next time for the schnitzel.

For the past two years, I've been a regular at this restaurant and I'm still thrilled with it. As someone who doesn't eat much meat and generally doesn't eat much of it, I have to admit that the schnitzel is the best in all of Berlin, or probably in all of Germany. The quality of the food hasn't diminished in the slightest over the years, and the staff are always refreshingly friendly. I will continue to come back again and again and can wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone.

The pumpkin soup was barely edible – the schnitzel was good, but the prices are a bit too high. The service was also quite unfriendly at times.

A very nice restaurant on Kantstrasse, stylishly furnished and generally with a pleasant atmosphere. The prices are quite high – typical for the location, but unfortunately, the value for money isn't convincing. The service was disappointing: The waiters seemed very young, and unfortunately, quite arrogant and not very friendly. Regarding the food: Bread: not particularly tasty. Schnitzel: vastly overrated. The meat is sliced ​​extremely thin, so you can barely taste anything but the breading. It doesn't stick to the meat and falls apart into many pieces when you cut it – a shame, because the meat itself is actually good. Overall, a very disappointing schnitzel. Kaiserschmarrn & Espresso: on the other hand, really very good and the positive highlights of the evening. Many guests seem to come for the famous schnitzel, but for me, it was unfortunately a disappointment. What a pity!

I highly recommend the schnitzel and the excellent Kaiserschmarrn. The wine list is also impressive.

Service was pretty bad. The younger blonde waitress was constantly pulling a face, listless and quite rude. They didn't even ask if everything was okay or if you needed anything else. I expect that from a certain level of service. The schnitzel was subpar, as was the potato salad. Both were bland and tasteless. However, they slapped so much garlic on the potato salad that you couldn't taste anything else. The cranberries were cheap cranberry jam. It had absolutely nothing to do with that. The only really good thing was the fresh bread, of which you got three mini slices. Having heard so many good things about it, I wasn't expecting that. But it was truly outrageous, and it ended up costing almost €100.

Service is fast, professional, and friendly. The Wiener Schnitzel is okay. It's an experience you don't need. I don't understand the hype surrounding the schnitzel. I tasted breaded meat and sensed a bit of rectangular, thin veal—a chef can season a schnitzel, too. The salad was tasty, as was the espresso… I wouldn't eat a schnitzel here again.

Daniel and the team really looked after us. The food was fantastic and there were some lovely vegetarian options. Would recommend a visit if you are in the area. They have won plenty of awards and now we know why 😀

Perfect Wiener Schnitzel, in a large or small portion. Lovely ambiance. Perfect fried schnitzel. Good wine. Compared to a big name, whose offerings I was very disappointed with, this is a much better alternative. It's possible: good Austrian cuisine and good wine, plus good service. It's worth it, whereas L&W, by comparison, isn't at all...

The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't worth the price. The price of a 0.25 liter of wine at €14-€15 is also unacceptable. Furthermore, the noise level was so high that it was almost impossible to have a conversation.
