Shiva in Halle (Saale)

We love spending a few wonderful hours there enjoying delicious, fresh Indian food. The vegetarian dishes with the homemade cheese are especially tasty. A large mango lassi is a must when visiting Shiva. The service is always friendly, fun, and fast. The weekday lunch menu is also highly recommended. 👍

As always, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch! Going to the restaurant is definitely worth it; the food is even better there than when it's delivered. In my opinion, it's the best Indian restaurant in Halle.

My attempt at eating spicy Indian food was a brave one. I'm not cut out for it. Nevertheless, we all had a great time, at my expense. Friendly service and good food – you can count on that here. We say thank you, and next time I'll turn the spice level down a bit. Thanks to all the staff.

I eat at Shiva at least twice a week because it's the best Indian restaurant for me! I haven't found a better Indian restaurant in various cities in Germany and in various countries around the world. The team is always cheerful and does a great job. For anyone looking for great food, you definitely have to go here. BUT be careful! It's so good it can be addictive. We have really been regular customers for many years and it is time to say thank you for the many pleasant hours we spent in your cozy restaurant, the ambience, the two service ladies who were always in a very good mood and the really great mango liqueur well-rounded food.

We were there on a Thursday evening and had a very, very tasty meal, the staff is very friendly and attentive, and also very quick-witted 😊😂 it was a great evening all around.. Why only 4 stars, we have only been there twice and for 5 stars I have to come several times and the level has to stay that way.. Best Indian restaurant in Halle

We ate at Shiva Restaurant for the first time today. The ambience is very nice. The starters were all very freshly prepared, and the main course (mixed grilled platter from the tandoor oven) was also really delicious. Everything tasted wonderful and kudos to the chef and the friendly service. We have been to all the Indian restaurants here in Halle, our conclusion is that this small but fine restaurant “Shiva” is our favorite. We'd love to come back.

The atmosphere is good, you can enjoy samosa and other snacks and Indian food. Food quality is also fine

You always look forward to visiting Shiva again. Both the food and the starters are simply convincing. And then there is also the brilliant lassi or the brilliant mango cream. Everything tastes great here and the food is worth every cent.

The food was delicious and successfully filled you up. The portions are sufficient and the combination of starter and main course automatically means that no dessert can be included, which is the case with all Indian restaurants. The service was good and always had a cheeky saying. Food and drinks were welcome to be passed on even if the arms were too short. The ambience was very German and, for my taste, not worthy of an Indian restaurant. In my opinion, the overall layout of the restaurant is a bit unfortunate. At the entrance door you tie knots to tame the two doors of the very clear vestibule. The dining room itself is very manageable, but still well stocked with seats. The toilets can only be reached via a staircase on the lower floor. It was easy to see into the kitchen from our seats. All of our clothes smelled exactly the same when we got back home. I would like to come back for an entertaining and delicious dining experience. For a cozy and relaxed evening, I would prefer other restaurants.

I can only recommend the restaurant. Food was very, very tasty and the staff was very friendly. A tiny star deducted for the ambience because the restaurant looks a bit bare inside.

we visited on a Saturday night at 9:30 pm, which is close to the closing time of the restaurant. (we had already called before that we are about to arrive at 9:15pm but got late due to tram delay) The owner/ staff was still welcoming and let us eat till 11:30 pm. very good experience. Food was good, but have eaten better food. #appreciation post. would definitely visit again to try different dishes.

This near city not more distance

As a family, we took the opportunity to have an Indian meal at Shiva's nearby before going to the cinema at Cinnemaxx. We were able to sit outside and after a short wait we were served very tasty Indian food - not too spicy for the European palate. Highly recommended!

A very unassuming but good Indian restaurant. The food was very tasty and our wishes were catered for. The waitresses were also super friendly and accommodating. The outside seating could be nicer, but the food made up for this deficit :) Overall, highly recommended!

So we ordered a table at Shiva. We were greeted not by Indian staff but by a German lady. I don't know the last time I/we were received so kindly😀😀😀. Top!! 👍👍👍When we chose our drinks, I decided on the house wine red🍷 - I was first offered a sample / dry - which I thought was great👍. The wine was very good as far as my taste is concerned. Remember, everyone has different tastes!! Starter was also very good, there were 3 sauces for the various delicacies..., these were refilled - without us asking, just by the attention of the waitress. When ordering the main course, we as guests [grandma, mother, daughter] discussed whether the corinder tasted too soapy for us, but somehow we couldn't get to the point. The waitress gave us a bowl of fresh coriander leaves🌿🌿. We tried...I decided against Kori 🌿🌿🌿...you have to like it, I don't like it 🌿🌿🌿🫥. The main course was super tasty...everything is on offer for meat eaters and vegetarians...I can't say anything about dessert. We were all full after the main course. At the end the restaurant gave us a mango schnapps😍. One thing is for sure, we'll be back👍👍👍👍👍...price/performance great...you're welcome to leave a tip...on top of that...😁👍👍

An interesting insight into Indian cuisine adapted to European conditions at still moderate prices.

Despite forgetting to capture the moment with photos, the food at this restaurant was utterly captivating. The flavors transported me back to India. Especially the malai kofta surpassed expectations, rivaling those I've had in India. The owner's friendliness added warmth. Each bite was a burst of flavor, perfectly balanced. Exceptional food, welcoming atmosphere, and personalized service make it a must-visit. Five stars!

Today on Valentine's Day we were warmly welcomed at the Indian Restaurant Shiva and taken to our reserved table. Despite the fact that it was very full, the drink order was taken immediately and brought to the table quickly. The entire meal was very fresh, extremely tasty, perfectly seasoned and any special requests were taken into account. I especially have to highlight the momos, which I have never had better anywhere. We would like to thank the team at Restaurant Shiva for the wonderful evening and will come back soon.

I've eaten here twice now. Once in September with my aunt and then for my birthday. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed! They even decorated the table a bit for my birthday, which I thought was very nice. It's very good Indian food. Everyone has been thrilled with the food so far. The meal comes with a starter, but we also ordered a starter plate with fried little things, which we were happy to share. I recommend sharing an appetizer plate. The main course can be ordered in three variations: mild, spicy or Indian spicy. I had spicy and found it quite mild, as I often cook spicy food myself. We ate here again for my birthday and I ordered Indian spicy. I was coping relatively well until I made the mistake of drinking some of my drink. On the subject of Indian spicy: Order a step down on your first visit, if you can handle it, then go for it next time. Just remember that spicy food gives you twice the fun. Small drawback: The toilet rooms are not that clean.

If this passes for 4.7 stars in Halle, I'm really afraid to eat somewhere else.

Went there for the first time on a Saturday evening without reservation but could not get a table as it was completely full. So we planned to visit again on a Saturday afternoon and reserved a table this time. The restaurant was completely empty this time except for our one table all through the 2 hours we were there. Haven't earlier seen any restaurant as empty on a Saturday. Coming to the food, we ordered momos as starter and they were really tasty with the perfect fillings in both veg and non-veg ones and paired with a delicious spicy chutney. The main course however did not live up to the standard and was average at best. Chicken-do-pyaza was quite watery and tasted just like a normal curry rather than do-pyaza. We also ordered Hyderabadi lamb biryani which had the perfect spice level, but it's incredibly wrong to put veggies like carrot and mushroom into a Hyderabadi lamb biryani. Please revisit the cookbook for the biryani recipe. Might go back just for the momos.

In Halle it is definitely our favorite restaurant with Indian dishes. Always delicious, including the vegetarian dishes. The service is very good and child-friendly.

solide indische Küche! Die Bedienung ist super flott und trägt das Herz am richtigen Fleck. Das Chicken Tikka Masala war super sportlich gewürzt, ein Traum. Die Vorspeise (Paneer Pakora) war etwas schwächer, an dieser Stelle kann der Teig aus meiner Sicht noch deutlich knuspriger gebacken sein.

Wer scharfes Essen mag, muss dort hin. Auch geübten "Scharfessern" drückt es mal eine Träne durch die Augen. Natürlich gibt es auch "normales" Essen. Das indische Flair vermisst man etwas bei der Gestaltung der Innenräume.

Wenn wir Indisch essen gehen, dann nur bei Shiva. Mittlerweile kennt man uns, aber da der Service vorher schon höchst aufmerksam war, kann es kaum aufmerksamer sein Auch als Partyservice absolut zu empfehlen. Unkompliziert, selbst bei einer Bandbreite an zu beachtenden Intoleranzen und Allergien.

Immer freundlich, immer lecker und die Bedienung ist auch mal für einen Spaß dazu haben.

Mein Mann hat sich in eine andere verliebt (August 2022 25 Jahre Ehe) und macht es sich nun mit seiner Neuen in diesem Lokal gemütlich. Ich habe von gemeinsamen Freunden erfahren, dass mein (noch Ehe-)Mann und seine Neuen schon regelmäßig hier essen. Ich möchte nicht riskieren, sie hier zu treffen. Vielleicht traue ich mich in Zukunft wieder hierher. Die Trauerarbeit wird einige Zeit in Anspruch nehmen, aber das Restaurant ist einfach TOP !!!

Prima eten voor een prima prijs. De locatie ligt een beetje uit de loop leek mij, en het terras achter was vanaf de voorkant niet te zien. Vriendelijke bediening en het leek me echt een familiebedrijf. Een aanrader.

Das Essen ist super lecker, die Portionen sehr groß und die Preise völlig angemessen. Das besondere sind aber neben dem Essen, die Atmosphäre und die Menschen. Man fühlt sich immer als gern gesehener Gast. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich, die Empfehlungen immer super und generell fühlt man sich wohl umsorgt. Wir sind seid vielen Jahren äußerst zufriedene Gäste und werden es auch bleiben. (Und unser Mops wird auch immer mit einem freudigen Knuddeln an der Tür begrüßt, wenn wir das Essen mal abholen statt vor Ort zu essen.)

Bestes Indisches Restaurant in Halle (Saale)! Das Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich, nicht überzogen. Im Hintergrund läuft indische Musik. Das Restaurant ist stets sauber und aufgeräumt. Die in den Speisen verwendeten Zutaten wirken alle samt sehr hochwertig, speziell das Fleisch. Doch auch Vegetarier kommen hier voll auf ihre Kosten, denn auch die Fleischfreien Speisen werden mit alternativen in Form von z.B. Käse angeboten. Den gewünschten Schärfegrad kann man im Vorhinein bei der Bestellung genau bestimmen. Von mild bis indisch scharf kann man wählen. Das Shiva hat nicht umsonst eine so große Stammgemeinde. Für einen fairen Preis bekommt man dort makellose Qualität. Noch dazu ist das Personal stets sehr freundlich. Wenn man in Halle indisch essen gehen möchte, dann dort.

Wer in Halle/Saale leckere und auf seinen Schärfegrad abgestimmte indische/nepalesische Köstlichkeiten zu sich nehmen möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Beste Qualität schon seit Jahren. Moderate Preise und ein angenehmes Ambiente. Immer wieder gern.

Ich war letztens zum ersten Mal dort und war begeistert. Ich hatte ein vegetarisches Gericht mit Paneer und ich fand es besser als alle anderen indischen Restaurants, bei denen ich in Halle je gegessen habe. Bedienung war auch sehr freundlich. Aber Achtung: von 4 Schärfestufen (mild-leicht scharf- scharf- indisch scharf) habe ich die zweite gewählt (leicht scharf) und es war schon ordentlich scharf, aber für mich genau richtig. Mehr als ich es von anderen Restaurant gewöhnt bin, wo man teilweise nichts von der Schärfe merkt, obwohl man scharf bestellt hat.
