Im Sommer sitzt man auf einer schönen Terrasse am Wasser, genauer gesagt auf einem fest vertäuten Schiff. Wir wollten hier einen Gutschein einlösen und haben den Service diesbezüglich nicht so positiv erlebt. Das von uns gewählte Gericht konnten wir nicht bekommen "weil das nicht mit Gutschein geht". Warum wurde uns nicht erläutert. Die Kommunikation auf deutsch war mit einigen Bedienungen schwierig. Die dann von uns gewählten Gerichte waren lecker, das Ambiente ist schön, vor allem im Sommer - bei der Gastfreundlichkeit ist noch etwas Luft nach oben.

After we sat down at the table, a waiter approached us without even greeting us. He just looked at us and asked, 'Food?' We replied, 'Yes,' and he handed us the menus, saying, 'Fast,' before walking away. We arrived at the restaurant at 8:00 PM, so it wasn't close to closing time, and even if the kitchen was about to stop serving, it could have been communicated in a more courteous manner. This experience ruined the entire atmosphere for us, so we decided to get up and leave.

Nice atmosphere right on the river. There was nothing wrong with the service either. However, reservations for the evening are recommended. The food was very good and came typically Indian on several plates.

Exceptional location right on the water in a quiet and idyllic location. The food was authentic Indian and simply delicious!! We'll definitely be back.

Best indian desi restaurant in Berlin 😋

A huge advantage is the fact that you can pay with an American Express card, where most restaurants in the area do not accept this card, or only cash at all. The food was very average, the butter chicken had no character and the chicken itself had a very strange foamy structure. Mango lassi very sweet, also lacked flavor. Nice staff, speaking good English, nice place to sit by the river.

Amazing place ! The food is amazing . I've been there quite a few times and the whole experience is wonderful. The staff is so helpful and friendly. Apart from that, the food is always delicious. The outdoor area is beautiful .lovely place to go with your family!

Posto carino abbiamo mangiato sopra al battello è stato caratteristico, pollo tandoori e riso molto buoni anche il pollo al curry era molto buono, il posto è consigliato se vi piace il cibo indiano i camerieri sono stati molto gentili e il servizio veloce.

Beautifully located by and on the water. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to sit at one of the beautiful tables right by the water. Apparently they were reserved. Everything remained clear until we left. Annoying.

First time for me to eat an Indian food. I liked it so much. I ordered chicken with rice. It was unique and delicious! The atmosphere was also very warm and cozy

The flavour of the dishes were good (not the best Vindaloo Ive had) however the chicken was raw/undercooked, in all 3 dishes we ordered. We ended up eating only the naan and sauce. After informing the waitress, she only responded by saying she informed her manager. Later, a man came with our bill (not sure if he was the manager as he did not say anything regarding the complaint) and there it was, fully priced meals to be paid for. Quite disappointing as there was not even an apology. (In terms of value for money: 17Euro for a dish with about 5 cubes of chicken only). We chose this place as the reviews were quite good, so maybe it was just a bad day!

Recommended by hotel to go there. Nice and cosy surroundings in Berlin-Mitte beside the river. Staff was quick to respond and professional. Among all we (family) ordered was for exemple chicken korma, butter chicken, naan bread, rice etc. Chicken had sort of rubbery texture (need to cock longer when rubbery texture), sauce ok but didn't have those flavors as we expected from eating it many times before. Naan bread was good. We ordered one portion less then we were as we had two kids with us (young teenage) and was enough for us. Price range was ok and surroundings in good company raised the whole experience but it fell on the lack of taste in sauces and texture of the chicken.

An ok experience close to the hotel we stayed at. Good drink while the Tandoori chicken was dry and not particularly spicy. The staff was very attentive and pleasant.

This was our choice for a big birthday celebration. They kindly allowed us to decorate the seating. Good was fabulous and plentiful. Excellent staff we would return several times on our visit.

The atmosphere is delightful (we stayed outside) and the waiters were very attentive, polite and quick. Very diverse menu, but I thought the food lacked intensity in flavor. I expected more seasoning, compared to other experiences with Indian cuisine I've had. I recommend the samosas, which were delicious. The mango sauce was also great.

Beautifully located restaurant. Whether inside or outside, a wonderful ambience awaits you. We were there with a larger international group and everyone was thrilled. The staff very friendly, helpful and patient. Everyone enjoyed the food. Clear recommendation from us.

An excellent location with a beautiful view of the river and the possibility to eat from the anchored boat next to the bar. The food is delicious, I highly recommend the tomato soup. The service is efficient.

If you want to eat spicy, you have to consciously order “spicy”. The normal chicken with rice is definitely okay for wimps like us. I found the salad very tasty and the tomato soup was also spicy and extremely tasty. The service was attentive and the portions were normal. It was perfect as a light dinner. You can eat not only in the restaurant, but also outside by the river.

I enjoyed my vegetarian food and my enjoyed his lamb. We did ask for it to not come out too quickly, as we were trying to take our time. But it came out in five minutes. It was filling and I liked the massive bread. Staff seemed a bit grumpy, polite enough, though as if it it was an effort.

Good food, nice ambience and a great reception

I don’t want to be mean but I have to be honest: the curry here wasn’t good. The chef has no love for his art. The restaurant is connected to a hotel, so I guess they have a steady flow of customers which is not good as they don’t seem to be bothered much to make the effort of presenting good food in a nice atmosphere. I think this place can’t be in anyone’s top list.

Good Indian restaurant just below Museum Island. Definitely good food and very friendly service. The most significant "merit", however, is the external boat, where there are tables where you can eat. Truly a curious attraction and certainly very pleasant to dine here on temperate spring evenings!

Very good food, nice service, good selection of dishes. We would love to come back the next time we visit Berlin.

Ordered Shahi Paneer, not a single almond, raisin or cashew in it. Just the sauce with rice and cheese. It's a real shame, it was my favorite Indian so far. I must have been busy because I waited for over an hour, the announced time was 41 minutes. Cashew nuts and almonds are not exactly cheap to buy, so you can also save money. Went there again today. The food was just lukewarm, the quantity was very manageable and if the menu offered something with mushrooms, it would be nice if there weren't just 3 snippets of it in the meal. The quality of the food has deteriorated VERY much over the years. The price/performance ratio doesn't match.

This is my first review in Berlin German and what a success it was..staff so friendly and helpful they made a chicken dansak curry for me that is not on the menu.the food was outstanding and good size portions,I highly recommend this Indian restaurant if your out and about in Berlin….

Had dinner here with family food so tasty and amazing but experience was made better by our waitress Gurveer she was so friendly and helped us choose the right dishes.

Service is professional but could be a bit friendlier. The food was, contrary to expectations, very bland. Barely seasoned, the chicken was overcooked without any bite. The portion is very clear. I was there once and wouldn't eat there again.

I have never eaten such bad Indian food. The chicken korma was tasteless, the chicken was slimy, the naan tasted like yeast. The grill plate was expensive and uncluttered. Moderate in taste.

Food without plates, just from the bowl and while we were still eating the empty one was already cleared away, constant disruption due to “do you need something?”, opening hours actually until 10:30 p.m. according to the maps, the “schnapps” arrived at 9:45 p.m. (just mango juice) at the end with the request to leave.

Delicious ! A real Indian restaurant. The flavors are present, the meat is tender, the tea is super good. And the attentive and friendly servers. So, we went back! Go there without questioning.

Actually a very nice restaurant. We don't go out for Indian food very often, but every now and then. That was pretty good so far, not exceptionally good but okay. Unfortunately, the staff was in an extreme hurry to clear away our plates, even if they weren't yet empty. The starter hadn't quite sunk into my stomach yet and the plates were already gone. For the main course, I asked that the plates be left standing because they weren't yet empty. However, after two bites he came back and really wanted to clear away. It wasn't like there were potential customers lining up at the door and you were under pressure and had to turn away customers. There were still tables available. It's a real shame, this fast eating habit really ruined my evening.

Prices are high in comparison to food quality. Atmosphere is good.

I have visited many Indian Restaurant but the Shezan is the only restaurant where I find the authentic taste of India with very reasonable price. And the service delivered by the staff is also so nice. I recommend everyone to visit this restaurant at least once.

Indians in downtown Berlin! The Garlic Naan was warmed up and not that tasty. The chicken tikka was good.

Excellent food, with welcoming staff and efficient service. There is an extensive menu, but I recommend the Fish Shezan. A very good alternative to stodgy German cuisine!

This is the first time in my life I had indian food, so tasteless (not even salt). What a disappointment... In total, I have tried 4-5 indian restaurants in Berlin, and this was the worst experience in terms of food. The only thing good about this restaurant was the service.

We visited this place today on a rainy evening for dinner and truth be told, we were pretty satisfied with the food. Though it was a bit confusing from the menu as the dish descriptions are not appetizing, the taste was okay. We started with mango Lassi which was a little bland. Then our main course dishes were Chicken Mughlai and Mutton bhuna with Basmati Rice. Both tasted good. Nothing overwhelming but good. Obviously the preparations were not authentic. We finished off with Elaichi milk tea which was okay but also lacked depth of flavor. The liquor was also pretty light. To sum it up, room for improvement is everywhere.

Absolutely thrilled, we'll be back! Very cozy, food and cocktails were really great!👍

I ate a soup, it was good, but it was so small.. didn't worth to pay 6.40 euros... Service and atmosphere was not special or especially noteworthy.

Nichts auszusetzen. Wir hatten ein indisches Menü für 2 und es war reichlich. Personal fix und freundlich, schöne Einrichtung. Zu zweit 64 €.

The staff is nice, the location too, but the meal was not edible. It must have been the worst chicken I have ever had. It tasted like gum unfortunately, although the naan was OK and the veggies were fine too. It ruined the dish, and that was rather unfortunate. Too pricey, for such bad quality.

Schönes Ambiente. Sehr freundlicher, schneller und aufmerksamer Service. Das Essen war schmackhaft Der Beilagen Salat und das Dressing fielen leider. Das Fleisch war sehr reichlich. Leider hat uns allen die Konsistänz der Hühnerbrust garnicht gefallen.

La cuisine est bonne. Les goûts sont là, nous avons particulièrement aimé le butter chicken. le poulet a bien été relevé et la senteur indienne est bien là. De plus les plats sont copieux. J'ai enlevé une étoile pour le serveur qu'on doit appeler pour demander quelque chose et qui a pourtant le temps de jouer au téléphone. A part cela, l'équipe est sympathique.

Wir sind ganz gerne regelmäßig hier, Essen ist lecker, man bekommt auch spontan immer einen Tisch. Draußen das Ambiente ist sehr schön. Aber für 5 Sterne reicht es nicht.

The food was bland. No Indian spice, no flavour at all. Was told by the waiter that they catered for German palates who prefer a creamy curry. No creamy taste either. Won’t be back and won’t recommend. Btw popadums the size of saucers !!!!!!????

Good authentic Indian food. Host was super nice and accommodated all our requests and customisation. I missed my ring on the table and the host came running out to hand it back when we left the restaurant. Speaks volumes about their honesty. Would recommend, if you want to taste Indian cuisine.

Essen war ganz lecker, die Portion aber sehr klein. Wir hatten einen 2 für 1 Gutschein aus dem Schlemmerblock. Da gab es dann im Gegensatz zu den Tischen um uns herum ohne Gutschein keinen Schnaps am Ende. Der Service war nett, aber unaufmerksam

Back in this restaurant after five years...but not the same mood. The service was only rushing, not comfortable ofr to have time to choose. Bier like couloured water (!) and food not so typical indian. A big frustration that killed my souvenir about.
