A true highlight in Alt-Moabit! I visited Himalaya Masala for the first time today – and certainly not the last! The moment you walk in, you're warmly greeted and immediately feel welcome. The ambiance is cozy, clean, and designed with great attention to detail. The food was simply fantastic: authentic Indian spices, South Indian dosa, perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. They also offer Nepalese momos (vegetarian + chicken). I highly recommend them – incredibly delicious! The vegetarian dishes are also excellent and freshly prepared. The service was attentive, friendly, and quick without being intrusive. The value for money is absolutely top-notch for the quality you receive. Anyone in Berlin craving authentic Indian food should definitely stop by. Highly recommended – one of the best Indian restaurants in the city.

The acoustics in the restaurant are poor. We were there with five people, and it was almost impossible to have a conversation.

As an Indian, I can absolutely recommend this place. You just can't go wrong with anything here. The ambience,the people, the music: an easy 10/10.

Tried the Masala today. We ordered items 91, a chicken dish, and 93, a lamb dish, from the monthly menu. Both were very tasty and filling. Since we sat outside, I can't comment on the ambiance in the restaurant. The tables could use a fresh coat of paint (or a tablecloth). Hence, only 3 stars. Unfortunately, the service wasn't particularly friendly either, but they at least asked if we were satisfied. Perhaps they, both men and women, were having a bad day today 😉. We'll be back in due course.

Masala is a great place to eat, the food is authentic and very delicious. The guys working at the restaurant are very friendly, they all have good vibes and excellent service. I totally recommend this restaurant.

One star is still too many. The waiter was very rude and unfriendly, obviously not wanting us as guests. We left the restaurant after four minutes. I remember it differently.

I had a wonderful lunch at Masala Restaurant! The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced – every dish felt carefully prepared. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, and the menu had a great variety to choose from.

I had the chicken curry, but the chicken was dry and the curry itself tasted diluted—not rich or flavorful. They also put a slice of orange in our drinks, which was odd. It had black spots on the skin and looked like a bad or old orange. The orange also overpowered the drink’s taste. Overall, not the best experience.

Excellent service and tasty food

We've been regular customers for years! I highly recommend the vegetarian dishes. Personally, they're even better than the meat. The Punjabi bengan and samosas are particularly recommended.

I really love the Fresh Limonade, their newly launched drink that comes with varieties of flavours. Also, I ate veg vanaras thali, great taste and option for vegetrians. Overall, Fully satisfied with the service as well as environment.

Fast, very friendly service and delicious food. You can get a table even if you don't register, the volume is such that the company dinner was also a success.

So, butter the chicken: Would I drive across town just to eat there? No, there are far too many good Indians in the city. But the food tastes very good and the price-performance ratio is just right. I really enjoy eating there!

Very tasty Indian cuisine near Lietzensee in Berlin/Charlottenburg. I had the stuffed eggplant (#22), my husband had duck (#155 from the daily menu). The prices are relatively cheap, but parking spaces are in short supply. The service is friendly and tries to fulfill the wishes of the guests. Masala is a long-established restaurant that has been around for many years.

We had the Masala Platter for 2 people which includes soup, salad, various curries and dessert. Everything was very good and plentiful.

Simple Indian but inexpensive, food was OK and you were full. In summer you can sit on the terrace, and smokers can also sit on the terrace in winter.

We visited this restaurant twice while visiting Berlin from Australia. They not only gave us excefood and service but made us feel like we are at home. They are very friendly and accommodating.

I've been eating here regularly for about six months, both take away and in house and am very impressed with the quality of both the food and the service. The kitchen here is oriented toward North Indian, Punjabi style cuisine so it tends to be milder, with creamy, rich sauces and not heavy on hot chili peppers. A stand out are the samosas which are some of the best I've ever eaten. I asked the waiter and he tells me they are made fresh daily in house and that's how they taste: fresh and delicious. If you've stopped ordering samosas at other restaurants because they always seem to be lifeless and greasy, try them here, you'll be glad you did. Other dishes I've tried are the Punjabi Eggplant, in a tomato cream sauce with almonds and raisins as well as several chicken dishes which were also excellent. Service is friendly and professional, the atmosphere is tasteful and not overdone and there's a nice terrace for outdoor dining. Masala is well worth a visit!

The most unauthentic Indian food I have eaten in Berlin. I am not sure the chefs have ever visited India. Dishes are boring and blandly flavoured.

There is a pleasant atmosphere in this restaurant, which is enhanced by the friendly service. The food is delicious and the price-performance ratio is definitely right. Masala is definitely perfect for a nice meal with friends and family, but also for enjoying alone.

We have already visited and tested quite a few Indian restaurants. Unfortunately, in this one we have to criticize the taste of the food. Shahi Panir tastes like warmed up ketchup sauce without any taste or seasoning. The balloon bread and garlic naan also don't have a "typical taste". Salad (garnish) was also a bit older and already brown in one place. Dear restaurant owners, you have a nice place there, make something of it. Indian cuisine is full of spice and thousands of flavor nuances. See this as a positive criticism.

Ate at Masala Restaurant for the first time today. I have to say that overall the food was pretty good and we really enjoyed it. The ambience/location was also very relaxed and inviting. Unfortunately I have to say that we were very disappointed with the service. Unfortunately, there was never a single question about whether everything was okay with us or whether we were missing something. Everything had to happen on demand. When the rice was empty, I waited until an independent question came about for a second helping. Unfortunately in vain. The service seemed very disinterested. We wouldn't eat there again.

Probably difficult to find as a tourist; It was a tip from a local friend. I listened to the cellar's recommendation and chose a main course from the special menu! This and the starters that I also like to eat at home were extremely tasty and absolutely sufficient in quantity. Together with the very friendly staff we had a very nice evening there. I can only give 4 stars for the ambience because we sat in the beer garden and I can't say anything about the inside. But I will definitely eat there again when I come back to Berlin!

Hier sitzt man - obwohl mitten in der Stadt - wunderbar ruhig vor dem Lokal und ißt sehr gut gewürzte Speisen u.a. mit frischen Ingwer und Koriander, dazu gutes Faßbier. Aufgrund insgesamt guten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnisses bestellt man gerne Vorspeise, da dies der einzige uns bekannte Inder ist, der nicht den indischen Gruß aus der Küche, Papadam mit Saucen, bietet. Völlig zurückhaltender Service ist auch authentisch. Beste Bezahlmöglichkeiten.
