Yesterday around 9 p.m., my wife and I went to the Selçuklu Restaurant at Nordmarkt. A young waiter without glasses showed us to our table. Although we waited for 15 minutes, no one came to take our order. So I went to the buffet and ordered a doner dürüm, a large order of fries, and a drink. The fries arrived after 5 minutes, but they weren't exactly fresh. About 10 minutes later, the doner dürüm arrived toasted, which I've never seen before in a doner kebab shop. After two bites, I noticed that the meat wasn't warm. I went to the cook, who was standing nearby. The waiter offered me a new dürüm, which I declined, as I only wanted to pay for the fries and drink and leave. When I paid, I was told that the meat couldn't possibly be cold and that I was imagining things. I really wonder why they argued with me at the end and accused me of making things up.

We ordered two large doner kebab plates. The amount of meat was like a child's portion, and it was cold to boot. Each plate cost €17.90. I also have to mention that there was a lot of gristle in it! Even though only one table was occupied, the tables weren't clean. The waiter was extremely slow. Instead of Coca-Cola, they brought Sinalco. They should have told customers that directly. They charge €2.80 for Sinalco! 😂😂😂 Doner wrap €9.50, soup €6. For that price, we definitely expected more. A complete disappointment. Unfortunately, I can't say anything more.

I went out for a doner kebab with my boyfriend for €9.50 per person. The problem is, at that price you expect a bit of quality, but no, it used to be great, now it's a flop. I went there with my wife to try the food, and we were served by a man in his fifties with light hair and glasses. He was friendly at first, but when he asked my wife if she was married, and she replied, "Yes, with my wife," his attitude immediately changed. Afterward, he visibly discriminated against us simply because we were a lesbian couple. Unfortunately, because of this unpleasant experience, I can't recommend the restaurant. €18 for a kebab plate isn't worth it—the quality is okay, but you can find many other places with similar quality at a better price.

I ate a doner kebab here. The meat is made from veal, a so-called yaprak skewer, rather than cheap minced meat. The meat is good, but everything else is rather mediocre. The doner is medium-sized and costs €9.50. In my opinion, the price is unjustified, as the doner is really only medium-sized, the other ingredients are fairly standard, and the meat, while good, isn't a standout. Nevertheless, I can recommend the doner overall.

The attitude of döner kebab chefs towards customers is not nice at all. Are they confusing the customers or us humans?

We waited for over an hour, and when we asked, we were simply told that it would take longer. We were basically fobbed off every time! Until it turned out that various customers had placed orders after us and received their food within 5 minutes, while we were only allowed to watch as people collected their food. In the end, after waiting for over an hour, our order arrived completely wrong, not even close to what we had ordered.

We had a very enjoyable evening at Sirali Restaurant last year. Mr. Hakan welcomed us very kindly and attentively, and was very interested in everything. We felt really comfortable and comfortable. The food was delicious, and the presentation was very meticulous. The most important thing was that there were nice play areas for our little boy. We went as a family of 5 and ordered Iskender but none of us could taste it. It had nothing to do with Iskender. I definitely do not recommend it. The bread and sauce underneath were bad.

I dont do reviews usually but i felt like i had to review this one as I really enjoyed it. Honestly one of the best restaurants i ate at in Germany. I ate the sucuk doner. It was delicious and I also enjoyed the energy, the atmosphere. The service was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful which really stood out in my opinion.

Very disappointed, firstly, the prices were too high. We ordered a grill plate for 2p, which was too little; you can even get more in a plate for 1p elsewhere. Secondly, the meat was raw and we said they should fry it a bit more, which they did, but it didn't taste good. And the chips: the potatoes were so thin and dry, they could have called them flat chips. I don't even want to talk about the salad. The waitress, the young lady, was very nice and friendly and she was the only good thing in the restaurant. I wouldn't go there a second time, sorry.

Ordered 500 grams of meat to take away. I wanted to weigh it at home. And lo and behold, 475 grams according to the kitchen scale. It's simply a matter of the principle here, not the missing 25 grams. Even if the meat tastes very good, if I pay for 500 grams, I want 500 grams of meat, not 475 grams!!! Disappointing – value for money is absolutely not right. Was at Selçuklu in Dortmund today, got a kebab plate - €17! At first I thought it would definitely be a decent portion, but when the plate came I was really disappointed. Max 80g meat Far too little for the money. Unfortunately, my visit here was anything but positive. I actually just wanted a kebab plate, but I was served a “Ramadan menu” without anyone telling me how much it cost. It was only on the bill that I saw that it was €28.90 - and that really surprised me. You might think that there are special, fair offers during Ramadan, but here I had the feeling that it was just used as an opportunity to charge higher prices. The food itself was mediocre and the waiting time was way too long. Overall, unfortunately a disappointing experience.

A kebab bag €8.50. Most expensive kebab I've eaten, but not the best in terms of taste. The kebab wasn't any bigger than in other shops. It shouldn't be, the standard size of the kebab fills you up. Number one when it comes to halal meat

Really nice restaurant, but service and food are really poor value for money. I often ate there when the shop was still open and it was always great. Now back after a long time and hey presto, prices are much more expensive, side dishes are fewer, portions are smaller. The price increase is justified by the 7% to 19% regulation, but let's be honest, we all know that the tax was reduced from 19% to 7% back then so that restaurants would be relieved during the Corona phase not many walk-in customers could come. That is no longer the case. I find it a bit cheeky. The food had to be seasoned heavily with salt, which is a real shame. The kofta was extremely pink, which shouldn't happen with minced meat. He was sent back three times and the third time he came back burned. Really cheeky to offer this to the customer.

Good store but service not good!

I only ever saw the store from the front, as it often looked quite empty in the front area. I figured I didn't have to go there, out of curiosity I went in and placed my order and was taken by an employee through a narrow corridor to the back, where at least 6 families sat and ate. I've eaten a lot of things that were better, but nothing that was ever worse. Doner kebab is just a pocket of lettuce with some meat...the sauces are watery and bland. and the prices are way too overpriced...it's definitely not worth the money. never again.

Selcuklu was once known for the best meat in North Rhine-Westphalia...apparently Corona has torn a hole in the cash register here too...which is why the quality dropped sharply here too. Unfortunately, the steak was from an old cow…i.e. a pensioner…the rest also tasted like unloving filling material. Prices are now high, but the quality has deteriorated significantly... Conclusion: Loveless kebab/grilled dishes for €25. You can get them somewhere else... I don't have to travel from Hanover specifically for that. Too bad! At first impression it seemed expensive (19.80€) because at other kebab shops you could get a kebab plate for 11-13€?, but at second glance the plate was more than enough for one person to have a little too much (kebab plate with veal) in addition You also get bread & 3 different sauces & a drink. The service was friendly, they said hello and asked if everything was OK, that's why 5 stars from me for the service, it was great. For strangers outside of Dortmund, the location is perhaps a bit intimidating (because of the surroundings, Dortmunder Nordstadt after all😅) but if so If you sit at the back of the restaurant area you are somewhat shielded.

Selcuklu Restaurant is the only and best doner kebab restaurant you can find in Dortmund, and also serves juicy and fresh home-cooked meals, grilled. The waiters are very polite and friendly. The service is also very fast. If you happen to be in Dortmund, I suggest you stop by.
