I read the reviews here and wanted to form my own opinion. What can I say: I'm totally disappointed. Any chip shop could have done better. The fish in egg was completely mushy, the potatoes were dry and nothing came with them. It was my last time.

Delicious food, fantastic service It's lovely to sit outside, and the service is quick and friendly, even when it's busy. Small adjustments to the dishes are possible, and almost everything is available in different portion sizes, which is really great. We highly recommend stopping by.

Only walkable distance for the beach. Restaurant is occupied with outdoor and indoor dinning. Highly recommended for those who love seafoods 😋

I can only recommend the starfish. Super nice and quick-witted service that is on the ball. Great menu and very good quality cuisine. It's a shame we were only there on the last evening. Otherwise we would definitely have become regular guests.

For the first time in years I was disappointed. The cod was a culinary delight. But the vegetables were standard frozen goods and also not fully cooked. I've been used to something different in the last few years. The waitress didn't apologize at all, but said - that's how it is with us. Not sure if I will visit the restaurant again in the future.

Very popular with tourists as it is on the busiest street in Norddeich and you can also eat outside. Very good for people who like to see and be seen. If it's not that important, you'll find much better and cheaper places.

Hello, we went there because of the good review. The waitress was very friendly, kind, attentive and patient. We both ate prawns with fries. The salad was nice for people who like tomatoes. I don't know the exact regulations regarding seasoning. But the fries weren't crispy enough for me personally and felt completely unsalted. (Salt and pepper were at the table) The prawns were all split open lengthwise, which in my opinion means overcooked. And unfortunately it's quite tasteless even without sauce. Maybe other dishes are better. Prices like everything these days are not cheap but still within reason. Fries on the beach were worlds better for my taste. Overall, probably not a bad restaurant.

Actually hardly a star for ambience. Facility more like a snack bar, very cramped. Unfortunately my mother had diarrhea afterwards. I didn't like it at all. I also had a bit of a stomach ache even though I ate something else. I couldn't see the fish because of all the sauce. I don't understand why people line up there to get a table.

Almost everything fit here. We are expecting on May 1st. 2025 there. It was very hustle and bustle around it. What was annoying were the cars that had to turn around again because you weren't allowed to drive through the street. I would like to see improved traffic management here. The food was very tasty. Since there were two of us we were seen at the table with other people. You start a conversation😀. The relationship was very nice and friendly. All good 👍🏻

A great and delicious fish restaurant. From Labskaus to schole or Krappensuppe, all the classics are represented. Portions and prices are very fair. The staff is very accommodating with a good dose of Frisian humor. Whether for a vacation or just a quick trip to one of the islands, we will always plan a visit to the Seestern.

I ate alone in this restaurant. Had to wait outside until I was shown a table. Although I said I wanted to eat outside and there was enough space. Food was ok. In my opinion, the fried potatoes were missing the bacon. Which is absolutely a no go for me. The waitress preferred to have a drink with the guests and didn't even ask if I wanted something/drink. I also had to wait what felt like half an hour for the bill. Apparently regular customers prefer to be served.

Great restaurant right behind the dike in Norddeich. Fresh fish dishes every day. But also other dishes on the menu. Nice staff. Very crowded at peak times. With waiting time. A little expensive but really good. If you've been there, go eat there. It's worth it.

The restaurant has an extensive menu and also a few vegetarian dishes on offer. Very tasty and at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, one star is deducted because of the places and toilets (spiral staircase) that are sometimes difficult to access for older people or disabled people.

Of all the restaurants we visited during our stay, Seestern was truly the best. The portions are very generous and the quality is really good! The service was phenomenal, charming and funny. Big compliments to Jan and Natalia(?), who really served us well and you could tell that they enjoyed their work. We would be happy to come back and would be happy to recommend others. Price/performance was great as you always pay a little more for fish.

Fish is great, schnitzel too, no problem with a stroller, outdoor restaurant with heaters in the parasol. Prices are already upscale, but service and food are good.

We were very satisfied. The food tasted very good and fresh. I tried a Nordic specialty that looked a little like baby vomit, but tasted really good. The dishes were properly seasoned. We would come back at any time. The staff was very friendly.

Yesterday we drove to Norddeich to eat at Seestern. It was worth waiting the 20 minutes for the table :). We ordered smaller portions and they were sufficient. Everyone ate fish with a side salad and everything tasted very good. Staff very friendly and helpful and the prices are really reasonable for the quality. I recommend the restaurant!!!

As soon as we were inside, we were shouted at that we were blocking the way. The sound makes the music. That was unkind. When we sat there waiting for the waitress and an optically German family blocked the way in exactly the same place, the tone suddenly became more human and understandable! We asked the waitress what she would recommend, her answer: another restaurant! The food was correspondingly terrible, extra salty. Never again!

Great restaurant, really quaint with nice staff. Beer super tasty. I didn't eat, but everything looked great and smelled wonderful. Shop was full. I was there on November 23rd and April 25th and this time also for dinner. It's great what's being done there! I always eat the cod head, an absolute specialty and delicacy. My wife ate rump steak and schnitzel. Not fish, but beautifully prepared. For us, simply the best restaurant in Norddeich.

We have been coming regularly to eat at Seestern for well over 10 years. Unfortunately a small portion was sold to us today as a normal portion. When we asked about this, the waitress told us that it wasn't true, even though the next table got a significantly larger portion than normal. We complained again and then we were told we could write a review… What a shame!!! We feel ripped off and are happy to spread the word.

Top fish restaurant in Norddeich

Delicious food, unfortunately dogs are not allowed in the restaurant.

Very good, balanced fish menu, there is also something for meat fanatics if they don't prefer fish. The food is served quickly and hot. Extra requests such as a change to the side dish or additional sauce are accepted immediately. The distance between the starter and the main course is optimal. At peak times - especially in the high season - you have to wait a little for a table. But for this price-performance ratio it's definitely worth it.

There was a delicious vegetarian and vegan selection and you could choose the portion size depending on your hunger (small, medium, large), with corresponding prices. We've never been treated so rudely in a restaurant...! We arrived at the restaurant today (March 26, 2025) at 2:50 p.m. All the tables downstairs were occupied, and since we'd read in the Google reviews that the upstairs seating was nice, we decided to sit there. After 20 minutes, no one came to take our order, we went downstairs and politely asked if we needed to order downstairs. The female waitress then yelled at us why we were upstairs and why we had sat there without asking. The upstairs was closed... To clarify: At the bottom of the stairs, there's just a sign saying "Caution: Step"—no barrier, no indication of a closed upper level; all the tables upstairs were set with menus and decorations! When we then said that we unfortunately couldn't have known, the employee snapped, "Come down!" with a waving hand! We've never experienced anything like that before! If it had been a friendly request to wait a moment until a table downstairs was free, or to please take a seat downstairs because other guests might have paid and left in the 20 minutes we'd been waiting, and it would be easier for staff to manage, no problem. But such an unfriendly and unprofessional tone is unacceptable! They probably only serve regulars in a friendly manner, or they're too sure they won't see those stupid, paying tourists again anyway... In any case, we won't attempt to get food there again and won't recommend this place to anyone!

On an atmospheric Friday evening, we visited the popular Seestern, where every corner of the restaurant was already bustling with cheerful guests. After a short wait, which only increased our anticipation, we finally found a seat. The other guests' recommendations about the delicious schnitzels had piqued our curiosity. And indeed, the children could hardly wait to try them. While the little ones enjoyed the schnitzels, we opted for the house fish. And what can I say? The naturally fried cod was a true feast for the palate: juicy and completely boneless. It was served with crispy fries, which went perfectly with the dish. My wife chose the sailor's plate with fried potatoes, and here, too, our palates were delighted by the harmonious flavors and loving preparation. The service was the icing on the cake of this wonderful evening – extremely friendly and attentive, especially with our children, who felt completely at home. The Seestern not only delighted us with its culinary delights, but also enchanted us with its warm atmosphere. We can hardly wait to return soon!
