As so often, we ate well again. The staff is quick and friendly.

Unfortunately the quality and taste have deteriorated somewhat. This is certainly a subjective assessment, but I always "work" my way through the fish locomotive and think I can assess it.

Delicious different fish dishes. Starter, crab soup, a poem and the meat dishes were also very tasty. I don't think the portions are too small. If you want to eat more, you just have to go to a restaurant where there is a buffet. Service and owner very nice. Always attentive. Even though the shop is small, it is still cozy. Keep it up. We had dinner there today and were very disappointed. We had ordered fried fish but didn't get any fried fish. Neither the breading had anything to do with fried fish nor the fish, which tasted very, very strong and wasn't attractive either. We also complained about this, but it was not accepted at all. They wanted to play us for fools. It was simply not a fried fish. The reaction of the service staff was absolutely subterranean. By the way, the right fried fish was at the take-away counter. We definitely won't be coming back even though we've eaten there several times. We won't let ourselves be fooled.

ch weiß nicht, wo ich anfangen soll. Wir haben uns so auf diesen Abend in dem Lokal gefreut. Am Vorabend hatten wir bereits ein Backfisch zum mitnehmen gegessen und waren so begeistert. Die dortige männliche Bedienung war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Doch heute Abend sollte alles anders werden, wir setzten uns um 19:30 Uhr in das Lokal und wurden auch promt mit einer Speisekarte versorgt. Nach ein paar Minuten erschien die Bedienung und sagte, haben sie sich entschieden, worauf wir erwiderten, ob wir noch 5 Minuten haben könnten zur Auswahl. „Wir schließen gleich die Küche „ war als Antwort. Aber gut das haben wir so stehen lassen. Als das Essen kam, sah es sehr gut aus, bis auf die Tatsache, dass die Bedienung mit ihrem Daumen schon in meinem Salat war, wo sie den Teller auf den Tisch servierte. da ich keine Serviette hatte fragte ich freundlich, ob ich eine bekommen könnte, und bekam tatsächlich eine auf den Tisch „geworfen“ Das Essen war lecker gar keine Frage. Doch wir merken dann, sehr schnell, dass sie das Lokal schließen wollten. Sie fingen laut an zu räumen, die Tische zu schieben und die Küche sauber zu machen. Ich war erst fertig, und die Bedienung, die nicht sehr freundlich war, nahm meinen Teller mit und griff auch den meiner Frau. Allerdings war diese noch am Essen. Und ohne eine Entschuldigung, nachdem meine Frau sagte, hallo ich bin noch nicht fertig, wurde dieser wieder vor sie geschoben. Doch dann kam der Höhepunkt.Beim bezahlen ( 60.50€) Fragte die Bedienung mich. „Möchten Sie das Trinkgeld über das EC Gerät oder in bar entrichten“? Hallo, sagte ich ich kenne das so, dass man Trinkgeld sich verdienen muss mit einem guten Service und dass sie froh sein soll, wenn wir nicht mit dem Chef darüber reden über Ihr Verhalten. Der vermeintliche Chef. Eine junge blonde Frau erschien auch promt und fragte uns sehr aufgeregt wo das Problem sei? sie wäre 25 und würde seit ihrem 18. Lebensjahr immer Trinkgeld geben. So etwas habe ich nicht erwartet. Ich war echt entsetzt über ein solches Verhalten, anstatt die Situation irgendwie zu beschwichtigen machte. Diese Frau es noch schlimmer. Wir sagten, wir sind nicht zufrieden. Wir wurden unfreundlich behandelt. Wir wollten einen schönen Abend haben. Das Essen war gut, aber der Service war eine Katastrophe. „Ihre Mitarbeiter würden den ganzen Tag da stehen und natürlich haben die sich ein Trinkgeld verdient.“ Und Wenn sie lesen können, hätten Sie bestimmt gesehen, dass wir um 20.00 Uhr schließen. „ Und als Verabschiedung sagte sie noch zu uns, sie brauchen auch nicht wiederkommen. So Gäste möchten wir hier nicht haben. Natürlich, denn morgen sind wieder neue Urlauber in dem Lokal. So etwas habe ich in meinem ganzen Leben noch nicht erlebt. Ein so schönes Lokal mit so gutem Essen und solch einem miserablen, nahezu unverschämten Service. Wenn das wirklich die Chefin war, dann sollten Sie sich dafür schämen, wie sie mit ihren Gästen umgehen. Ich hoffe, dass das viele Urlauber lesen und ganz genau überlegen, ob sie in den paar freien Tagen die sie hier an der Nordsee verbringen so behandelt werden möchten.

I don't know where to start. We were so looking forward to this evening in the restaurant. The evening before we had already eaten fried fish to take away and were so excited. The male waitress there was very friendly and accommodating. But this evening everything was going to be different, we sat down in the restaurant at 7:30 p.m. and were promptly provided with a menu. After a few minutes the waitress appeared and said have you decided, to which we replied if we could have another 5 minutes to choose. “We'll close the kitchen soon,” was the answer. But okay, we left it like that. When the food came it looked very good, except for the fact that the waitress had her thumb already in my salad as she served the plate to the table. Since I didn't have a napkin I politely asked if I could get one and actually got one "thrown" on the table. The food was delicious, no question about it. But we then realized very quickly that they wanted to close the restaurant. They started clearing loudly, pushing the tables and cleaning the kitchen. I was just finished and the waitress, who wasn't very friendly, took my plate and also grabbed my wife's. However, she was still eating. And without an apology, after my wife said, hello, I'm not finished yet, it was pushed in front of her again. But then the climax came. When paying (€60.50) the waitress asked me. “Do you want to pay the tip via the EC device or in cash”? Hello, I said, I know that you have to earn tips with good service and that she should be happy if we don't talk to the boss about your behavior. The supposed boss. A young blonde woman also appeared promptly and asked us very excitedly what the problem was? She would be 25 and have been tipping since she was 18. I didn't expect something like that. I was genuinely appalled by such behavior rather than trying to calm the situation in any way. This woman made it worse. We said we are not satisfied. We were treated unkindly. We wanted to have a nice evening. The food was good but the service was a disaster. “Your employees would stand there all day and of course they deserve a tip.” And if you can read, you would have probably seen that we close at 8 p.m. “ And as a farewell, she said to us that you don't have to come back either. We don't want to have guests like that here. Of course, because tomorrow there will be new holidaymakers in the restaurant again. I have never experienced anything like this in my entire life. Such a beautiful restaurant with such good food and such miserable, almost outrageous service. If that was really the boss then you should be ashamed of how they treat their guests. I hope that many holidaymakers read this and think carefully about whether they would like to be treated like this during the few days off they spend here on the North Sea.

Food was okay, unfortunately there was 1 piece of plastic in the food and I was then fobbed off with a grin of condition. Not nice of the condition.

Ate rolls with 2 herrings there. Had something like a,,, East Frisian kebab,,,,😅 Fresh side dishes and great bread rolls.

In May we were still able to give 5 stars. Now in September the chef must have changed. We ate here 3 days in a row in September/October and were really impressed. The boss was able to deal with our complaints Even his empty sayings couldn't improve the food. Now we're wondering if the food here is always so bad at the end of the season. It's just a shame, it's a shame, we were really looking forward to delicious food!!!

Take-away food is not an option at all. It's so unfriendly when you come in the evening. The order was taken half-heartedly and not really listened to at all. The conversation with your colleague when work was over seemed more important. Paid €24.50 for 8 mini kibbelings and a piece of salmon. One star just because it tasted good. When I asked for salad, which was on the menu with the salmon, a leaf of iceberg lettuce was held in front of my nose with tongs. When I pointed to the menu, the completely annoyed employee dropped this one lettuce leaf on the salmon , topped with peppers in the broth and a few onions. When we got home, all the liquid had already spilled out of the box onto the seat. Absolutely no go😡 It's a shame that Backfisch had already closed...it is and remains the best shop! To the owner...about your question... Yes, it was definitely their business. To be on the safe side, I had just spoken to my son again. On the card on the outside wall it says Kibbelinge €8.50 and I asked how much that was and the answer was 4 pieces. I still said so But there was really little for the price, so there was no reaction at all. Since my son likes them so much, I ordered two portions. So actually 8 pieces for 17€ and whether peppers or something else goes with the salmon, on the The menu says salmon with salad. I can probably expect more for €8.50, like a leaf of iceberg lettuce. Very densely packed and overcrowded, unfortunately very loud due to this and the open kitchen. The service seems rushed - no surprise given the narrow and crowded store - and so unhospitable. Obvious things like cutlery have to be specifically asked for because no one pays attention to them. The food is good, but it doesn't really stand out from the crowd. After dinner you get two half-full bottles of schnapps and glasses slammed onto the table without asking. What doesn't work at all is the outside area: although it is firmly covered and completely glazed except for a small vent, there is a lot of smoking here. Restaurant-level food is served here (and priced accordingly), although the rest speaks more of a snack bar. There are better alternatives for both in Norddeich.

The boss takes some getting used to, but his heart is in the right place. Really nice and accommodating person. The food was also first class, I've never eaten anything so delicious. I will eat here regularly from now on. For delicious fish, stop number 1.

Highly frequented restaurant, you are assigned a table. Ate kibbeling with fries, and the fries were amazing. Super crispy and seasoned with just simple salt. The kibbeling was also very tasty. After the meal, the waitress placed 2 shot glasses as well as a bottle of ouzo and a bottle of cherry liqueur on the table for free self-service. Cheers everyone......

Delicious otter with three kinds of fish

Super friendly boss who also sold me Aperol Spritz To Go so I could drink it in the holiday apartment next door. That definitely made the vacation nicer. We ate there on the last evening, it was delicious and the service was also excellent. If possible, it is better to pay by card. For 2 adults, 1 child and 1 baby we paid €66 (tip included)

We were thrilled. Out of 7 days in Norddeich, 6 times in the Diekster Fischhuus. Very friendly staff. Very tasty fish dishes. The Labskaus is highly recommended. We particularly enjoyed the schnapps round after the meal, which was served by the house. Always my pleasure.

We got fish sandwiches. 1 with herring and 1 fried fish. You would have to look for the herring, the piece was so small and the fried fish was OK. However, it wasn't tartar sauce but garlic sauce. It used to be better. It's a shame we were so looking forward to it

We ate there almost every evening during our vacation or ordered fish sandwiches to take away. Delicious food, sufficient selection of dishes and very friendly staff. Perhaps less suitable for vegans and vegetarians. But I am sure that special requests will also be taken into account. After your meal you get a nightcap (ouzo and some kind of cherry liqueur). Dogs are welcome both inside and on the terrace. The fish sandwiches are also super tasty and sufficiently filled!

We have just returned from our last dinner of the year at the Diekster Fischhuus. Your stomach and head are still full of good fish, great conversations in a wonderful atmosphere. Honest, open and ..... today I think they say authentic, we were, as in recent years, pampered with good fish, delicious side dishes and cool drinks from great people who did a fantastic job over the months to look after us guests with love host! Despite the full restaurant and beautiful covered terrace, we have never experienced stress or unfriendliness anywhere! Our visit to the Diekster Fischhuus was pleasant and fine. The atmosphere is cozy and the service was friendly and attentive. What's better is my food. The fried potatoes were not very crispy and very oily. The herring was a bit too salty for me personally.

My wife and I went there for the first time today as part of our vacation and will definitely come back. The quality of the food was very good and the portions were sufficient. The service was consistently friendly and attentive. All in all, of course, this also has its price, but that should also be clear to you. Otherwise, if you have a tighter budget, just switch to McDonalds if necessary. In any case, we were very satisfied. The only drawback: card payments are not welcome, but are accepted if necessary.
