We had a portion of fries with mayo. They looked like thicker potato chips and came in a cardboard container. We thought they tasted good and were okay for €3.50.

The Diekster Fischhus is one of the top addresses when it comes to good fish dishes, and has been for many years. The prices are also extremely reasonable considering the quality of the food. I'd say: If you don't like the food there, you don't like fish.

We've been going there for dinner for years and have always been satisfied. Today we were there again and were bitterly disappointed. No comparison to before...... My wife ordered fish, which was fine too. I ordered Jägerschnitzel with fries. The fries weren't fries but chips and the Jägerschnitzel was curling as if it had been waiting for me in the deep fryer for a long time. When I asked the waitress about the fries, she told me they were always like that here, we don't have any others, not exactly friendly. And at the end when I asked if it tasted good, I answered no. Yes, you ate it. The answer was then answered. Well, kindness works differently, but everyone has a bad day. We will have dinner somewhere else in the future, there are some good and friendly alternatives.

The fish restaurant with the fairest prices in Norddeich. Large menu with a lot of good selection. Great service! Today for the first time the Diekster panfish - delicious and almost too much, even for me. At the end you always get a drink on the house. New in 2025: The WiFi for guests works and card payments are finally accepted. Nothing more to complain about at all.

The food was very, although not entirely, freshly prepared. It was ready too quickly after ordering. The service was very nice and friendly. I can recommend.

The “full hut” every day speaks for itself. Every penny of holiday money is well spent here.

After a long time I was in Norddeich again. We ate the Störtebeker Schnitzel today and were very disappointed. We think that for €24.50, what is on offer is simply too expensive. Salad and fried potatoes ok. The breaded fish fillet was very, very, very thin. Also dripping with oil. Pressed on it with the fork and only oil came out. Unfortunately, I couldn't detect the fishy taste. But don't be sorry. I'm happy to pay for good quality. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is not correct here.

Great restaurant. After my Norderney vacation, I was looking for a snack near the harbor with my family. We really wanted to eat fish again. We chose Diekster and it was delicious. The service was quick and attentive. The price/performance was very good. Highly recommended. We'll be back.

Since 2003 I've been trying to come here at least once a year to eat the delicious "fish fill" and I haven't been disappointed once since then. The fish in an egg shell is simply great. I wish you also had a branch in the southern Ruhr area. I will be very happy to come back and would like to thank you very much for the years of good service and the delicious food and that this time you also gave me a few prepared fish. I'm sure I'll enjoy them here at home just as much as I do with you.

What should we say?? Well, all we can say is visit this restaurant, enjoy the food and I think, like us, everyone will come back, no matter what we ate, everything was great. We Steinheimers say, next year we'll be eating here again.

Banger! Mega tasty fish. Fries were very tasty and homemade. The children and the dog also felt comfortable.

Today we had schnitzel Störtebeker, breaded lemon sole (limanda) with two fried eggs and crabs on top, as well as crispy fried potatoes and mixed vegetables with a pleasant dressing. The lemon sole was fried to perfection and the food tasted excellent. Despite the restaurant being full, we didn't have to wait 10 minutes for our food. The service was very friendly and at the end ouzo and cherry liqueur were put on the table at the house's expense. What more could you want? Super! :)

Ein sehr nettes Restaurant, schön eingerichtet. Man kann sowohl drinnen als auch draußen essen (draußen gibt's Heizlampen damit man auch bei steifer Brise dort sitzen kann). Sehr nettes Personal, was auf Zack ist! Kinder sind willkommen!! Wir(4 köpfige Familie) haben von Suppe, Schnitzel über die Fischpfanne für 2 alles gehabt und alles war super lecker!!! Sehr zu empfehlen!!!

Crab rolls generously topped and fresh. Baked fish was good, tartar sauce and garlic sauce unfortunately came from a tube/bucket and there was too much on it for our taste. Fish could no longer be tasted. Good fresh quality. Nice service Thanks for the clarification, if the sauces are homemade and not homemade, it gets 5 stars! ;) It was just too much for us.

I can't understand some of the worse reviews here in any way: The waitresses were super nice and friendly. ALL(!) of the employees warmly greeted you without being asked, the service was quick (which it has to be, especially at peak times!) and professional. Both the soups and the flatfish platter were very good and full of authentic flavor. The fried potatoes were crispy and the side salad was also fresh. The homemade iced tea is delicious - but a bit sweet for my taste (tip: order a bottle of water with it and "extend" the iced tea). Finally we had a shot of Uzo before we got the bill. This wasn't “cheap”; we paid just under €80 for two starter soups, a beer, an iced tea, a bottle of water and the flatfish platter for two. BUT: The portions were really big, the service was attentive AND you also have to consider the location: If you eat on the main tourist route, you have to expect these prices. Overall very good!

3 days vacation in Norddeich - ate here twice. Top fried fish and nice staff. Addendum: We were here again after 5 years and this time we weren't so satisfied. Changing the breading recipe creates a completely different product. But this is purely a matter of taste.

We ate there 5 years ago and the fried fish was super tasty. This year we were there again and unfortunately we were a bit disappointed. Since the recipe for the baking dough was changed, we didn't like it anymore. But that's a matter of taste.

The house-smoked eel is the best I've ever had, so mild and tender, great for the palate! Service very friendly and quick.

We also go out to eat quite often, not just on vacation, and I'm a really good cook myself, so we absolutely enjoyed our visit. No convenience foods, everything fresh and super delicious 😋 😋 😋 😋 😋 😋 If I could give it 10 stars, I would do it immediately.

I didn't know that you could do so much right with fish sandwiches. We have been vacationing on the Norddeich for several years and always enjoy coming back here. The food is always good and the service is classic North German, you don't talk, you just chat. Greetings Michael

Zwar etwas eng bestuhlt doch ist es eine angenehme Atmosphäre mit flotter und humorvoller Bedienung. Wir haben Fisch in Eihülle sowie ein Krabbengericht gekostet und waren begeistert. Man hat ungehindert Blick zur Küche, die super funktioniert und es Spaß macht, das Treiben zu beobachten. Nach dem Essen bekommt man gratis einen Absacker auf den Tisch gestellt. Dieses Lokal ist sehr zu empfehlen.

During our stay we had dinner at the Diekster Fischhuus once. The menu that was hanging outside didn't match the "small menu" that we got inside. But it's probably seasonal, as the service person explained to us. The selection of drinks was limited accordingly. There was nothing wrong with the food, it was tasty, plentiful and beautifully presented. As a nightcap, a bottle of cherry liqueur and two pints were placed on the table. Much to the good. However, we were very cramped and therefore it wasn't very comfortable. But we would come back at any time.

We were there at Christmas time. Very nicely done with a winter garden and a mulled wine stand. If you like, you can also grab a hot waffle or something from the window.

A bit of experience gastronomy. Great atmosphere, very busy but still ready promptly. The service is absolutely great, as is the food. We made the mistake of ordering one of the excellent appetizers. The portions are large and generous - and above all, really tasty. Afterwards there was ouzo and fruit liqueur, all you can drink. The large bottles came to the table with the appropriate pinches and could be refilled as often as desired - mind you, at the house's expense. We'll be back and not just for the schnapps.

Delicious different fish dishes. Starter, crab soup, a poem and the meat dishes were also very tasty. I don't think the portions are too small. If you want to eat more, you just have to go to a restaurant where there is a buffet. Service and owner very nice. Always attentive. Even though the shop is small, it is still cozy. Keep it up. We had dinner there today and were very disappointed. We had ordered fried fish but didn't get any fried fish. Neither the breading had anything to do with fried fish nor the fish, which tasted very, very strong and wasn't attractive either. We also complained about this, but it was not accepted at all. They wanted to play us for fools. It was simply not a fried fish. The reaction of the service staff was absolutely subterranean. By the way, the right fried fish was at the take-away counter. We definitely won't be coming back even though we've eaten there several times. We won't let ourselves be fooled.

Real tip for eating out. The portions were really big and tasty. We were served in a very friendly manner. We really enjoyed it.
