We were there last Saturday. The red cabbage was great. But the beef roulade was a disaster; despite the sauce, the meat was so dry. Stick to cooking fish, you guys know how to do that.

We were here last night and everything was perfect. A lovely little fish restaurant with a small, well-chosen winter menu. We opted for the pan-fried fish with mustard sauce, fried potatoes, onions, bacon, and sweet and sour pumpkin with a side salad. Everything was fresh and delicious. My boyfriend and I ate here last night. It was absolutely perfect. The staff were incredibly warm and friendly. The food was amazing. The fish was cooked to perfection, and the fried potatoes with sweet and sour pumpkin were divine. The atmosphere was lovely and cozy. We even had a nightcap. You really feel welcome here. Unfortunately, our experience was a complete disappointment. The fish and fried potatoes were good, but the salad appeared to come from a bag and was stored pre-dressed in the refrigerator. As a result, I found a large piece of plastic bag in my salad. Sadly, neither the staff nor the owner offered a word of apology, let alone a discount. We found this extremely disappointing. We will not be returning.

The price-performance ratio was not right.

A Nordic-style greeting ("Moin" - it's the tone of voice that makes the difference 😉), friendly service, a lovely ambiance, and very, very delicious food. They even take the time to have a little chat and enjoy the food. Deciding what to eat was really difficult because there were so many delicious things on the menu. But we managed it 😜 We're here until Sunday and hopefully we'll make it back again 😃

Three tables were set up for six people. The fried fish portion was very generous, about the size of half a fairground fish sandwich. The potato salad was good. The salad garnish was good.

Anyone in Norddeich must eat here at least once. They'll be back again. All dishes are fresh, delicious, and plentiful. Top quality 👌🏻 Value for money is also excellent. The interior is very cozy and decorated in a maritime style. The owners are very friendly and always have a Nordic sense of humor.

Hey...the Diekster Fischhuus is a very charming place for fish lovers. The restaurant gets very busy in the evenings after 5 p.m., so you'll need plenty of time and patience! Whenever we're on vacation in Norddeich, it's our first stop.

We had a great spot, and everyone was super friendly. We were already impressed by the fish sandwiches the day before; the sandwiches were still warm because they were freshly baked, so we were happy to wait 10 minutes for that. The Störtebeker plate that evening was truly amazing, visually stunning and tasted amazing. The next day, we got more kibbelinge; it's always delicious at your place. Thank you so much. We would love to come back again.

We ate there twice. The first time, it was okay. The second time, the restaurant was very crowded, no reservations were possible, and the wait for a table was half an hour. The food was terrible. Served quickly and carelessly. My fish dish with fried potatoes was drowning in frying oil and served that way. No response to my complaint. 👎 Thank goodness there are better restaurants in Norddeich, for example, the restaurant "Zum Backfisch" 👍👍

Parking is difficult, right on the street. But I know that before I go in because: we're coming from the street. The ambiance is fitting for a "fish shack"/restaurant, just the way we like it. Hans Albers was blaring his teeth in the background, just the way it should be. The service (the boss) was authentic, very friendly, with time for a quick chat even though he's full of people. The food was super delicious. Looking around, I would have liked to order what the others had on their plates. Fresh fish, fresh fat (fries, breading), fresh salad. A repeat order factor of 5 for us. It's also wheelchair accessible. Perfect.

Very tasty and fresh fish dishes. One of the few restaurants that also serves cooked fish. Friendly service, and you (almost) always get a free liquid dessert. Unfortunately, we didn't get one yesterday. The restaurant itself is cozy, Nordic, with a touch of snack bar flair. That didn't bother us. Instead, you're practically in the middle of the action, with the open kitchen and you can watch the chefs at work. At the end of the meal, you get a complimentary bottle of schnapps or liqueur directly to your table. We've been there several times and will definitely be back.

We spent our short vacation nearby in the first week of September 2025. We came here for dinner three times. After a short wait, we were seated. The food and drinks arrived quickly. Despite all the stress, the staff were always polite, friendly, and helpful. The food was delicious, everything cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Unfortunately, our visit to the Diekster Fischhaus was very disappointing. Reception & Service: We received an unfriendly welcome upon arrival. The service during our meal was also inattentive and unwelcoming. We weren't able to reorder drinks, and when paying, my suggestion about tipping was misunderstood. The waitress' reaction was even more unfriendly – ​​the receipt was thrown onto our table without a word. Food: The food was also disappointing. The boiled fish was dry, the sauce tasteless, and the potatoes overcooked. Overall, the quality was more reminiscent of cafeteria food. Value for money: For €45, we would have expected significantly more – both in the food and the service. Conclusion: We are very disappointed and will not be returning. It's a shame, as we were looking forward to a lovely evening.

This is our second time in Norddeich and we only go to the Diekster Fischhus. The Diekster is beautifully decorated, has a lovely covered outdoor area, and the service is top-notch! The fish is very high quality and the food is absolutely delicious, no matter which dish you choose. Today I had a salad with fried salmon, and I have to say, I highly recommend it! August 2025: I won't rate the service and ambiance, as I had fried fish and fries to go. In short, the best fries of my life, and the fried fish is in the same category, with a huge portion of fresh fish at a reasonable price (not the most expensive in the place). The delicious roll was actually just for holding half the whale. I'd be happy to go back anytime, even in the restaurant 😘

Yes, I wholeheartedly recommend it. Whenever we pass through Leer (3-4 times a year), we eat there. The fish is always fresh and delicious, and the side dishes are mostly homemade. The mashed potatoes and potato salad are highly recommended.

We've been coming here for years, and unfortunately, it's not what it used to be. The fish is noticeably darker and bordering on dry. The plates are noticeably smaller and more expensive. Then there are the industrial potatoes from a plastic bag. The dressing tastes good even when it's ready-made, as it's very sweet (but I can't guarantee it). It just doesn't work for us anymore. Service was friendly as always.

We had Captain Hook for the kids, and the adults had fried fish with fried potatoes and the Diekster pan-fried fish with fried potatoes and pumpkin. The remoulade is also amazing. And to finish, we get lollipops and a shot on the house.

We were looking forward to a visit one morning because the fish sandwiches there are supposed to be really great. When we entered the restaurant at 11:00 sharp, we were immediately told it was still closed. When we replied, "It's already 11:00?!", we were met with an annoyed, "Yes, but nobody serves here before 11:30!" Then there's simply no need!

I would have expected more in this price range. The fish came out kind of sloppy, the fried potatoes had no fried flavor, not even a trace of it. They looked more like sliced ​​boiled potatoes. What I found awful, though, was that everyone has to go outside to smoke, while regulars are allowed to stay and smoke, spoiling the other guests' food. There's potential for improvement.

I don't want to say anything positive, because then it would be even more crowded. But there are absolutely no negatives! (-: Simply TOP! We were there yesterday, August 15th. Fried potatoes and herring were all cold, a fish platter served in a cold pan, which meant the fried potatoes were also cold. The prices are therefore too high. Even the schnapps afterward can't make up for that. The guests are probably more pleased with the free bottles of schnapps after the meal.

The food was good, and so was the ambiance. But the service was quite unfriendly. The restaurant menu included fish sandwiches, which we ordered. When the lady heard this, she became quite rude, and when we asked about salmon substitutes or real salmon, she walked away, called out briefly from a distance, "They don't have salmon substitutes," and then disappeared again for a good 10 minutes without asking us other guests what we wanted. She took orders from other guests in the restaurant... Eventually, she came back and asked the rest of us what we wanted. Someone else brought us the fish sandwiches, but they were very friendly. We won't be going there again. In our opinion, it's far too pretentious, and the service is terrible.

We got a seat spontaneously, and the restaurant is nicely decorated. The food arrived very quickly, but unfortunately, the side dishes weren't really warm, and even though there were only four of us, the food didn't arrive together, but rather with an excessive delay. At some point, we asked the blonde waitress to pay, and even after repeated requests, we weren't billed, but instead other customers were served. We therefore kept our tip and didn't even get a "goodbye" or "see you again" as we left. Very poor service, and based on this experience, we wouldn't recommend the restaurant.

At first glance, everything here reminds you of a fast-food restaurant, but you can also sit down and let the service do its thing. The service is friendly and attentive. We were here for the first time today for lunch. We ordered a fish platter for two people. Fast service, good food, and fair prices. The only downside was that we celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary on August 15th and wanted to reserve a table for the evening. Unfortunately, our request was declined, stating that tables cannot be reserved. But we'll be back anyway.

We've already eaten there on our holidays in 2018, 2022, and 2023. We were always very satisfied. Subjectively, the egg-coated fish in 2023 tasted even better. The fried potatoes were very good. Delicious fish soup or crab soup to start with. The schnitzel is also crispy and served with excellent fries. Friendly service, short wait times, and appropriately sized portions. By the way: my mother accidentally left her jacket behind. She was able to pick it up the next day. In short: Highly recommended in every respect. Update 2024: Excellent food again this year. The portion sizes are also very appealing. Still 5 stars! Addendum 2025: The quality seems to have even improved. The mushroom schnitzel was very crispy; the fries were too.

After three years, I returned to the region for a vacation. Everything was just as I remembered. The food and the overall atmosphere were simply fantastic. I wish I had more of this for my well-being. But unfortunately, it's much, much too far from home.
