We had a delicious fish dinner there in the evening. The dining room is small and decorated in a nautical style. We were able to have a good conversation. We didn't have to wait long for our food and the service was very friendly. We will definitely come back.

Störtebecker Restaurant – highly recommended! I've been eating at Störtebecker for years and I'm always delighted. The food always arrives quickly and the fish is simply delicious – fresh, perfectly prepared, and incredibly flavorful. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and has a pleasant atmosphere where you immediately feel at ease. If you appreciate good fish and friendly service, this is the place for you. I bought an eel roll and I have to say it's an absolute rip-off! There were only three tiny pieces of eel in the roll, and it cost €7! Half the roll was just onions and no fish at all! Very disappointing.

We went to Störtebecker in Norddeich today. They have a great selection of fish dishes, but also very tasty schnitzel. The food was really good and the drinks were wonderfully cold. We'll be back.

Picked up two fried fish sandwiches from a street vendor. Well, very expensive for a fried fish that looks like it came straight from the freezer at a discount store, with a sandwich and tartar sauce included, and that's it. Definitely not going to repeat! Addendum: I've now received a message about my review for the second time, claiming it was "defamatory." Google wanted to delete the review. Do you really want to use a provider that can't handle criticism?

Outrageous! We ate mussels there today. We each ordered a slice of plain black bread, without butter. We paid a whopping €6.40 for that. I advise the proprietors to only sell black bread; you can't make more money than that. We, for one, won't be going there on Norddeicher Straße anymore.

We were here for dinner yesterday, and everything was already booked. We were offered a drink in the beer garden, sheltered from the wind and rain, while we waited for about 20 minutes. We gladly accepted. The food was delicious, and the waiters were all very friendly and accommodating. We would come back anytime.

I treated myself to a double herring fillet to go. The fish was good. However, the sweet milk roll wasn't quite right in my opinion. I was even able to pay with a card. The service was also very friendly.

We had a delicious meal one evening in the Störtebeker beer garden. My companion had the fish platter with grilled vegetables and potato wedges. I wasn't in the mood for fish today, but rather meat. I had a freshly made cordon bleu with broccoli and croquettes. We enjoyed it immensely. The service was very friendly and attentive. We'd love to come back!

Large portions that will more than fill you up. Highly recommended. Reserve a table in the evening to be on the safe side, otherwise you might have to wait. Friendly staff. It's worth it. 🙂

Our idea was that eating fish at a fishmonger can only be good 🤔 ... it was even better 🤩 Often, you can smell the "freshness" of the frying oil from the vicinity of a restaurant - here, there was no olfactory abnormality at all; you can also see it in the fried and baked fish: perfectly cooked, perfectly toasted breading or flouring, the best products 👍 We had the same pleasure the second time and are already looking forward to our next visit. We found the ambiance to be good, the service excellent (attentive, fast, etc.), and the price/performance ratio for this quality is unbeatable.

Matjesbrötchen, the matjes was very tasty, but is served in a soft roll (similar to a milk roll).

The fish sandwiches with smoked butterfish, mackerel or smoked salmon, herring sandwiches—we got our fish sandwich here every day. So I don't need to write any more, do I?😋😋👍👍

A small restaurant right on Norddeich's main street. They serve all kinds of delicious fish sandwiches. We even ate there once. The dining room itself isn't very big and simply furnished, but cozy nonetheless. I had the kibbelinge (squid), which I enjoyed.

We had a fried fish sandwich in a bun with remoulade. It was delicious. I highly recommend it for a quick snack.

The food was a truly pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, we had to eat there two days in a row. The first day, we had fried fish with fried potatoes. We enjoyed it so much that we had to go back the next day. Everyone who served us was always very friendly. It definitely deserves 5 stars.

Five of us ate there. The herring, cordon bleu, and schnitzel were delicious, but my squid rings with potato wedges were unfortunately over-fried. Serving also took a bit longer, even though it wasn't busy, but it was still acceptable. They also offer fish sandwiches to go.

The food is delicious! It was served hot and the portions were large. Unfortunately, our server wasn't very friendly, so I lost a star. Update 3 years later It's outrageous to be served frozen fish!! You can make it yourself at home and pay only 1/4 of the price! The last picture shows the frozen fish. Very disappointing what this restaurant has become.

The fries as a “side dish” were a bit small, as was the amount of mayonnaise... I would still go there!

We got two fish sandwiches from the street vendor window. We thought it was a shame that the sandwiches resembled a brioche bun, like a burger sandwich. We would have preferred a proper sandwich. The herring sandwich was very tasty, but the bun somewhat undermined the whole thing. When we saw a fried fish sandwich, we were expecting a breaded fish fillet served warm in a bun. Contrary to our expectations, we received a fried fish sandwich that we thought you could also get in the frozen food section of a supermarket. Also, the fish was warm at one point but has since cooled down completely. Perhaps they could keep the fish fresh by deep-frying. After we finished our sandwich, we would have liked a napkin, which unfortunately wasn't available, not even for self-service.

We thought the location was very nice and the food was good too. The staff is funny. My son had the giant currywurst with croquettes (he would have preferred more sauce), I had the kibbellinge with roasted vegetables (I don't necessarily have to have it again; it's a bit simple for the price), my daughter had the fish fingers with croquettes, and my husband had the plaice fillet with fried potatoes. The price-performance ratio here is not justified.

Highly recommended. The street vendors (various fish sandwiches) were very good, and the restaurant visit was also worthwhile. A special bonus for the service staff.

We had a fried fish sandwich and were disappointed that it was just frozen fried fish and not homemade. The crab sandwiches are way too expensive at €14 a sandwich... Better to go to the direct competition, where you can get a well-filled, fresh, and tasty crab sandwich for €6.50.

It was a cozy get-together; everything was perfect. The food was delicious, the staff was very friendly, and the ambiance had the maritime feel you'd find in almost every North Sea restaurant.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio isn't right at all. To charge an extra 0.90 cents for mayonnaise on a main course that costs over 20 euros, and then you get a tiny portion in an edible paper cup is...

We ordered fried fish at the sales window, but it was anything but fresh or homemade; it had just been quickly warmed up in the microwave and prepared without any love. It's a shame, the other fish sandwiches were definitely better, I'll try something different next time.

I ordered plaice with fried potatoes. The four plaice that came out were definitely frozen! The chef apparently just reheated them. Charging €20 for that is outrageous!

A year ago, we ate here several times and were very satisfied. This time, it was disappointing. We were blamed for a communication error during the ordering process; the missing side dishes were promptly delivered, but were charged extra. For example, we paid about €37 for salmon with asparagus instead of the stated €27. The fish was also overcooked and dry, unlike last year. We probably won't be going back.

The window invites you to grab a quick roll to go. Points were deducted for the limited communication with the staff. Apparently, the man at the window only knew the key words of the menu. Inquiries about intolerances, the friendly gentleman couldn't understand or answer them. What disappointed me more was that when I ordered fried fish, a kind of giant fish stick that appeared to have been pressed into a standard shape, it was pushed from a plate into the microwave before it found its way into my roll. Given the words "freshly caught" above the window, I actually expected something different. To be fair: the roll and the remoulade were delicious. The fish was still edible. However, the microwave didn't meet my expectations. I found fresh fried fish on the same street on my next visit to Norddeich.

Brilliant fish fillet platter, highly recommended

I went there with two children. We ordered three fried fish sandwiches (two without salad) and one with mayo. Despite the half-empty tables, we had to wait a long time; the customers at the window were more important. We got three sandwiches with salad. And then we were asked to pay extra for the mayo (€0.80 per portion). It wasn't listed under the fish sandwiches on the menu, but on the last page. When I expressed my displeasure, I was insulted as a bad customer. We'll never go there again. The fish sandwiches weren't any better than anywhere else. We actually tried it afterwards.

Very friendly service. Our questions were answered promptly. The food is always top-notch! I particularly enjoyed the Norddeich fish pan. I've rarely eaten such well-steamed fish and vegetables. Don't be fooled by the first appearance. Past the bar, the dining room is bright and inviting. Prices are fair and reasonable.

The food arrived faster than expected. It was delicious. We'd be happy to come back and definitely recommend it.

Bought 2 fish sandwiches to take on the go, for over €11. Absolutely unmotivated and careless, the roll was put down, salad was slapped on with bare hands, and a not so nice leaf was thrown back into the bucket, probably for the next guest. There is another way to be friendly. It's a shame, I'll buy somewhere else in the future.

The fish was delicious. The asparagus cream soup with crabs still needs to be refined.

We were there to eat in a small group... unfortunately the food was cold and there was no real response to complaints. Complete meals were also charged extra even though we only wanted a partial change in the dishes. After a long back and forth, 2 extra dishes were not charged. But the price/performance ratio is absolutely not right.

The service was extremely difficult to use, placing the order was a real struggle because they barely understood what we wanted. At such an expensive restaurant you expect good quality service and ambience. When our food came it was pretty cold for everyone and some of it wasn't as it was on the menu. When this was mentioned to the service, real discussions began and the waitress showed no insight whatsoever. I can't recommend this restaurant to anyone, but everyone should form their own opinion. Unfortunately we were very disappointed and will avoid this restaurant from now on. The only plus point was the ambience, which of course doesn't make up for the rest.

The taste of the food was good, unfortunately 4 out of 5 meals came to the table cold. The staff is friendly, but there were difficulties communicating when ordering. After a complaint, warm food was served. Something was forgotten in one dish and was not returned even after a complaint was made. When we asked to adjust the bill slightly because we were full but the quality wasn't right, something was only waived after a lengthy discussion. Definitely not recommended for eating on site.

Delicious fish snack. We got fish sandwiches from the window and then sat on the benches outside and ate. You can also order drinks or real dishes. There are also options for sitting inside. Staff nice, price not overpriced. Unfortunately, it is difficult to get a parking space right in front of the door and you have to get an extra ticket and pay for it. The policewoman runs up and down the street. But all the shopkeepers on the street can't do anything about it. But you have to pay extra for everything and on this street in particular you spend your money in the local shops.

Delicious fresh fish. Simply perfect in a soft bun!

We ate here today. The question when ordering was: “Fresh or normal”? Normal means TK or something similar. It was very loud and reminded us of a train station. We ate a "fresh" schnitzel. It was okay. Still, we don't have to go there again.

Eel & fish smokehouse Brak in Norddeich - A small but fine fish restaurant, everything was very clean. The menu is clearly laid out and offers something for every taste. Whether meat or fish, from eel to herring to sole, everything your heart desires The portions are plentiful and taste very good The service staff was very friendly and helpful The price-performance ratio is very good for the quality, as the portions are not exactly small. We can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience.

Freshly prepared food and very friendly staff

We ordered matjes in a roll… What we got looked like this. But the bun was a bad soft hamburger bun floppy. All together inedible... It's a shame, they probably want to save on the rolls in winter... definitely delicious without the rolls... so fish rolls are not recommended.

The potatoes were also allowed to swim in lots of fat on the plate. Instead of the pollack fillet we ordered, an indefinable fish arrived, inedible, with lots of bones in the supposed fillet. On the other plate were fries with lots of paprika powder on them. As well as fish fillet in 1a Iglo format. Despite complaining about the food and being told that there wasn't even the food we ordered... we had to pay the full price. Sorry…..absolutely not recommended……a lot of money wasted on nothing The star is only because you can't rate it otherwise

Fresh fish is super fried, even the potatoes with it are great. And then super nice service, what could you want😋. 2025 update: Unfortunately very much diminished. Fish fried to death and dry. Almost rotten. The friendliness of the service has also been lost. Too bad. We'll look for something else.

The fish sandwiches are really too expensive for the quality and taste. Tiny fish cake with a run-of-the-mill breading and the fried fish is dry and also covered in a crumbly breading. Both were simply warmed up in the microwave, nothing was freshly baked or fried. It tasted pretty good, but it wasn't a hit.

The food tastes quite good, but unfortunately a bit expensive. Unfortunately the tables are not kept clean. Someone should look more often.

Delicious fish dishes available in different sizes. Large restaurant over 2 floors. outdoor area. Toilet on the upper floor, therefore not for people with disabilities. No reservation possible. I'd love to come back.

I had the crab roll and didn't think it was all that great. I've eaten better in Emden and the surrounding area

Cheeky pricing policy with only average quality. A small example using a fried fish roll: for 6.50 euros you can get a naked milk roll with frozen fried fish. The waitress asked if it could be some tartar sauce. Of course she didn't mention that she would charge 1 euro extra for this. In the end, for 7.50 euros, it was still the milk roll. It's probably cheaper to buy and lasts longer. The drink prices are absolutely exorbitant. And the hot chocolate for over 5 euros doesn't even have milk in it; the guest probably likes to drink hot water with cocoa powder. No, definitely not again.

It was very nice and we ate well.
